  • GWT AbstractColumnDefinition (Need to add style to certain Columns)

    - by Mario
    I have a column Definition for each colume that extends AbstractColumnDefinition these columns are put in a DefaultTableDefinition. example: NAME | SIZE | RES | DELETE | this style (AT THE END OF THE PAGE ) is added to the column names if you notice all of them are with a cursor pointer , meaning a hand shows up when i hover above each one. my question is would I be able to remove the coursor for delete or in general for a certain column and keeping it for another one .. i tried to do that with each column Definition but there is no such thing as remove or addstyle even to like put my own style. THANK YOU .gwt-ScrollTable .headerTable td { border-bottom:1px solid black; border-left:1px solid #CCCCCC; border-right:1px solid #CCCCCC; cursor:pointer; vertical-align:bottom; }

  • Centralizing a floating element :(

    - by 2x2p1p
Hi guys :| My "div" element have a relative width, it isn't absolute so I can't use exact numbers to centralize. A nice solution is to use "display: inline-block": body { text-align: center; } #myDiv { border: 1px solid black; display: inline-block; padding: 50px; } But this element NEEDS to float, I tried this: #myDiv { border: 1px solid black; display: inline-block; float: left; padding: 50px; } And this: #myDiv { border: 1px solid black; display: inline-block; padding: 50px; position: absolute; } Without any success, can somebody help me ? Thanks

  • How to restrict html body width when not displayed on iPhone?

    - by Curyous
I have set up a web page to look good on the small screen of an iPhone, but when viewed on the desktop, and going right across the width of the browser, it looks terrible. Is there a way I can restrict the width to say, 480px when viewed on a big screen? I tried body { margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; max-width:480px; } but it seems to just set the width at 480px, even on an iPhone on portrait mode.

  • Web application starter kit

    - by Steve Robillard
I am looking for a site that allows you to input a project name, choose a doctype, a js library etc. and then generates the directory structure and files to start a web project. I know about project deploy, but it is no longer maintained. There was a new one that was created within the last 2 or 3 months, but for the life of me I can't find it either through Google nor my delicious bookmarks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve

  • text-decoration:underline vs border-bottom....

    - by jitendra
What is the difference to use {text-decoration:underline} and {border-bottom:...}? which is easy to style and cross browser compatible? when we should use border-bottom over text-decoration:underline? Would it be good to use border-bottom always in place of text-decoration:underline?

  • Are fluid websites worth making anymore?

    - by Adam
Hey guys, I'm making a website now and I am trying to decide if I should make it fluid or not. Fixed width websites are much easier to make and also much easier to make them appear consistent. To be honest though, I personally prefer looking at fluid websites that stretch to the full width of my monitor. My question comes from the fact that in most modern browsers you can hold control and scroll your mouse wheel to basically resize any website. So is creating a fluid website worth the trouble?

  • LINQ-to-SQL class doesn't implement INotifyPropertyChanging & INotifyPropertyChanged if pulling from

    - by Traples
I modified my data source in my LINQ-to-SQL class (by the old delete and drag back in method), and was surprised to see the INotifyPropertyChanging & INotifyPropertyChanged interfaces no longer implemented in the generated classes (MyDb.designer.cs). The methods for the individual fields went from looking like this... [Column(Storage="_Size", DbType="NVarChar(100)")] public string Size { get { return this._Size; } set { if ((this._Size != value)) { this.OnSizeChanging(value); this.SendPropertyChanging(); this._Size = value; this.SendPropertyChanged("Size"); this.OnSizeChanged(); } } } To looking like this... [Column(Storage="_Size", DbType="NVarChar(100)")] public string Size { get { return this._Size; } set { if ((this._Size != value)) { this._Size = value; } } } Any ideas on why this happens and how it will affect my application?

  • Any solution to IE8 bug rendering error when hiding elements?

    - by Magnar
Bug: when hiding an element with JavaScript in IE8, the margin of still-visible other elements on the side is ignored. This bug has been introduced with IE8, since it works as expected in IE6+7 (and other browsers). <html> <head> <style> #a, #b, #c, #d {background: #ccf; padding: 4px; margin-bottom: 8px;} </style> </head> <body> <div id="a">a</div> <div id="b">b</div> <div id="c">c</div> <div id="d">d</div> <script> setTimeout(function () { document.getElementById("b").style.display = "none"; }, 1000); </script> </body> </html> When running this code, notice how a and c have a margin of 8 between them in normal browsers, but a margin of 0 in IE8. Remove the padding, and IE8 behaves like normal. Remove the timeout and IE8 behaves like normal. A border behaves the same way. I've been working with IE-bugs the last 10 years, but this has me stumped. The solution for now is to wrap the divs, and apply the margin to the outer element and other styles to the inner. But that's reminicent of horrible IE6-workarounds. Any better solutions?

  • Basic Tooltip (jQuery)

    - by Nimbuz
HTML: <a href="#" rel="tooltip">Open Tooltip</a> <div id="tooltip">Tooltip Content</div> I checked out some tooltip plugins but my requirement is a really basic tooltip that shows a hidden div on hover. All plugins either have too many advanced options that I don't require and have already styled tooltips that might be difficult to modify. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • How can I make a Twitter style alert stick to the top of the window?

    - by Robert Robb
There is an excellent code example on how to make nice jQuery Twitter style alerts here: http://blog.codecrate.com/2009/10/twitter-style-alerts-in-rails.html $(function () { var alert = $('.alert'); if (alert.length > 0) { alert.show().animate({height: alert.outerHeight()}, 200); window.setTimeout(function() { alert.slideUp(); }, 3000); } }); However, one thing that the code doesn't include is functions to stick the alert div to the top of the window, no matter how far down the page the user has scrolled. I have found a few examples but nothing seems to play nice with this existing code. Any ideas?

  • Compiled query using list of class objects in C#

    - by Sukan
Hello , Can somebody help me out in creating compiled queries where input is to be a list of class objects? I have seen examples where Func<DataContext, somematchobject, IQueryable<T>> is created and compiled. But can I do something like Func<List<T>, matchObject, T>, and compile it? Basically I want an object(T) meeting certain conditions (as in matchObject) to be returned from a list of objects(List<T>). Will CompiledQuery.Compile help me in this? Please help me experts!!

  • IE7 ignoring margin in a div following an absolute positioned div

    - by 0al0
I have two divs inside a container, the first one has absolute positioning. In ie7, the second div apparently ignores the top margin. Padding seems to work fine, but for visual reasons I have to use margin. I know the culprit is the absolute positioned div because if i remove it the following div works fine. This is only happening in ie7 (not even in ie6). Help! Edit: I just found a solution which consists of giving the parent div padding-top just for ie7. So I would just like to know why does this happen, and if there is one, a cleaner solution, but I dont need more dirty hacks..

  • How do I get a div to float to the bottom of its container?

    - by Stephen Martin
I have floated images and inset boxes at the top of a container using float:right (or left) many times. Recently I hit a need to float a div at the bottom right corner of another div with the normal text wrap that you get with float (text wrapped above and to the left only). I thought this must be relatively easy even though float has no bottom value but I haven't been able to do it using a number of techniques and searching the web hasn't come up with anything other than using absolute positioning but this doesn't give the correct word wrap behaviour. I had thought this would be a very common design but apparently it isn't. If nobody has a suggestion I'll have to break my text up into separate boxes and align the div manually but that is rather precarious and I'd hate to have to do it on every page that needs it.

  • Problems solving oddly acting labels in ie7.

    - by Qwibble
Okay so this is sort of a double question so I'll split it into two. First part In modern browsers the main bold labels sit above their corresponding form elements, and align to the left as is expected. However in ie7, they randomly site 10-15px inset. I went through the developer tools and could find nothing to fix it. I've made sure all my margins and padding is reset so I don't really understand =S Here's the page demo - link Maybe some of you ie bug fixing genius's know what the problem is? =D Second part Again with labels, this time the in-line ones resident next to the check boxes and radio buttons. In modern browsers again, the side beside the form elements as expected, but not so in ie7 where they take a new line. I've tried floating, changing margins and everything but to no effect in sitting it in-line with the div.checker or div.radio that is created by the uniform Jquery plugin. Here's the page demo - link Sorry for troubling you with my ie7 problems, I know they arent the most fun to solve. Hopefully someone has the patience to help. Matt

  • What should I use to define image height/width resolution?

    - by Tedy
I've read all over the Internet that I should not define fonts (or anything) with absolute pixel height/width/size and instead, use EM ... so that on higher resolution displays, my web site can scale appropriately. However, what do I use to define IMAGE height/width ... because images won't scale well (they look pixelated)

  • Silverlight Unit Testing Framework running tests in external class library

    - by Jonas Follesø
I'm currently looking into different options for unit testing Silverlight applications. One of the frameworks available is the Silverlight Unit Test Framework from Microsoft (developed primary by Jeff Wilcox, http://www.jeff.wilcox.name/2010/05/sl3-utf-bits/). One of the scenarios I'm looking into is running the same tests on both Silverlight 3 (PC) and Windows Phone 7. The Silverlight Unit Test Framework (SLUT) runs on both PC and phone. To prevent having to copy or link files I would like to put my tests into a shared test library, that can be loaded by either a WP7 application using the SLUT, or a Silverlight 3 application using SLUT. So my question is: will SLUT load unit tests defined in a referenced class library, or only in the executing assembly?
