  • Problems with row height in table with expand /collapse in IE

    I have ten rows in my table. All the even rows are hidden by default. The odd rows have a 'plus' icon in the first cell. The plus to be clicked to see the next even row in the table. Clicking the icon again will hide the row again. I do this with simple jquery hide and show methods. The problem with this in IE is whenever I expand and a row and then close it, the border of the row which was expanded stays in the page itself and does not clear. This makes the pages look awkward in IE. I don't face this issue in FF. My friend here suspects this has something to do with the cell height. Im not sure if that is so. So please help me fix this. (The JS file is on another domain.) I'm wondering if it's valid to do the following for convenience sake: <script type="text/javascript" src="//cdn.example.com/js_file.js"></script> I'm wondering if it's valid to remove the http: or https: ? It seems to work everywhere I have tested, but are there any cases where it doesn't work?

  • How new is @font-face, and what do I need to know before I add it to a website?

    I started getting into reading design blogs a little while ago, and it seemed that @font-face got really popular sometime late last year, or something like that, because I was under the impression that it was a new emerging feature of the web. But then I saw that Internet Explorer has had it since IE4 (with some conversion). So is it common to see @font-face online nowadays? Sould I have anything in mind with respect to accessibility, legality, or rendering before I do something like this? I saw that Hulu.com renders fonts with Canvas and a javascript called "cufon."

I know about project deploy, but it is no longer maintained.     I am building an application where the user browses certain objects by scrolling and zooming. To change the zoom level I have successfully implemented a "dijit.form.HorizontalSlider" object. Every time the user changes the position of the silder, I can catch the "onChange" call and do something with that. However, the user can also zoom-in by double clicking inside the view zone, at which point the slider should change position automatically to reflect the new zoom level. My question is the following: what function or method should I call in my javascript to update the position of a dojo silder ?   • SPAN inside A inside H1 display in Chrome 5

    <h1> <a>Lorem ipsum <span>dolor</span> </a> </h1> In Chrome the contents of the SPAN have a line break in front of them, "dolor" is displayed on the line below, even with display:inline explicitly set. Expected it to display on same line as "Lorem ipsum". Displays fine in IE8 and FF3.5. Any fixes? Chrome 5.0.375.38 on Win7 x64

  • firefox object height ignored when data

    I have a flash video loading in a modal window. It works in others browsers but not Firefox. Firefox opens the modal window to the correct width of the object, but with no height. I have come to learn that Firefox does not recognize <param> and instead uses the data attribute. However, when I remove this attribute, the modal opens with correct height. What is going on? I have some content inside of a div like so: <div style="background-color: green; width: 200px; height: 300px;"> Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest. </div> However, the content overflows the DIV (as expected) because the 'word' is too long. How can I force the browser to 'break' the word where necessary to fit all of the content inside?
