  • How do I use SLIDE instead of FADE in a YUI Menu animation?

    I'm using the following configuration for a menu that is attached to a button: var srchTypeMenuConfig = { shadow: false, effect: { effect: YAHOO.widget.ContainerEffect.FADE, duration: .25 } }; I get a nice fade in and out for my menu when I click on the button; I'd rather have it slide in and out though. I replace YAHOO.widget.ContainerEffect.FADE with YAHOO.widget.ContainerEffect.SLIDE and the menu doesn't appear. Is there a way for me to get YUI to give me the slide effect? Here's what I've done so far: 1) Looked at the examples. 2) Looked at some effects examples from DavGlass' blog. 3) Searched the forums for 'ContainerEffect.SLIDE'. 4) Searched SO for 'ContainerEffect.SLIDE [YUI]'. I haven't found any helpful information. I suspect that I need to add something to my configuration, but I don't understand why fade would work but slide doesn't.

    I've searched the site and I cannot find a solution for my problem, so apologies if it's already been answered (I'm sure someone must have asked this before). I have written a jQuery Popup window that I've packaged up as a WebControl and IScriptControl. The last step is to be able to write the markup within the tags of my control. I've used the InnerProperty attribute a few times, but only for including lists of strongly typed classes.   • Opening Another Xib form an Xib

    Not a Noob as yesterday, but still green. I have been playing around with the code that Elisabeth Robson has put together HERE. I have a UITabbarcontoller and a IUNavigationController they seem to work fine. I have a UITableviewController to which I loads my NSMutable array. The user clicks a cell and didSelectRowAtIndexPath xib is loaded onto the stack. I put a 'Learn More' button on the current xib(BookDetailView). I've tried a few approaches to load a newer xib when the 'Learn More' button is pressed but have failed. Ive Tried IBAction and Pushing the Newer xib to the top. Do I need to create another view controller? Thanks for looking.

So I want to submit form without loosing the values already selected in the form because I need to stay always at the same level in the form.To be more clear, user choose a value from ddl and click edit button to show other options and fill them at the same form without loosing what he has selected.   • Form submits correctly in Chrome/FF, but fails altogether in IE/Safari

    I have a form with a css submit button. When a the submit button is clicked, i call a function that executes: document.forms["request"].onsubmit(); What should happen, then, is that the onsubmit method ought to be triggered. This works properly in Chrome/FF, but for some reason IE/Safari will bypass the onsubmit function and simply add the parameter "address=" onto the url as if it were submitting the form and ignoring the onsubmit function.     With new dell inspiron 3537 keyboard works fine with livecd. Everything stable. Touchpad don't works at all but this is not big deal because I have external mouse. But when i install system on disk and reboot I can't event pass my password to account. Keyboard suspend on second lub some char and repeat(example peteeeeeeeeeeee - stuck on e). I try linux mint(13, 15, 17), ubuntu(12.04, 14.04), fedora - always the same work only on livecd. can't find any solution. Sometimes not suspend on key but only freeze. Whatever i press it's response.

    I am running Ubuntu 12.04. As you might know Google Earth 7 doesn't work in Ubuntu 12.04 yet. I installed Google Earth via make-googleearth-package --force command. My installation was saccesful. At the beginning everything was working fine. But after some days I had a problem. When I type in "Fly to" box a city I wanted to search for it. It gives me "invalid HTTP request" error as seen in the picture: How to solve? P.S: I removed and reinstalled it but problem still consists. I can search globe via mouse only.

  • Customizing UPK outputs (Part 2 - Player)

    There are a few things that can be done to give the Player output a personalized look to match your corporate branding. In my previous post, I talked about changing the logo. In addition to the logo, you can change the graphic in the heading, button colors, border colors and many other items. Prior to making any customizations, I strongly recommend making a copy of the existing Player style. This will give you a backup in case things go wrong. I'd also recommend that you create your own brand. This way, when you install the newest updates from us, your brand will remain intact. Creating your own brand is pretty easy. Make sure you have modify permissions on the publishing styles directory, if you are using a multi-user installation. Under the Publishing/Styles folder, create a new folder with your company name. Copy all the publishing styles from the UPK folder to your newly created folder. Now, when you go through the Publishing wizard, you will have two categories to choose from: the UPK category or your custom category. Now, for updating the Player output. First, the graphic that appears on the right hand side of the Player. If you're using a multi-user installation, check out the player style from your custom brand. Open the player style. Open the img folder. The file named "banner_image.png" represents the graphic that appears on the right hand side of the player. It is currently sized at 425 x 54. Try to keep your graphic about the same size. Rename your graphic file to be "banner_image.png", and drag it into the img folder. Save the package. Check in the package if you are in a multi-user installation. You've just updated the banner heading! Next, let's work on updating some of the other colors in the player. All the customizable areas are located in the skin.css file which is in the root of the Player style. Many of our customers update the colors to match their own theme. You don't have to be a programmer to make these changes, honest. :) To change the colors in the player: Make a copy of the original skin.css file. (This is to make sure you have a working version to revert to, in case something goes wrong.) Open the skin.css file from the Player package. You can edit it using Notepad. Make the desired changes. Save the file. Save the package. Publish to view your new changes. When you open the skin.css, you will see groupings like this: .headerDivbar { height: 21px; background-color: #CDE2FD; } Change the value of the background-color to the color of your choice. Note that you cannot use "red" as a color, but rather you should enter the hexadecimal color code. If you don't know the color code, search the web for "hexadecimal colors" and you'll find many sites to provide the information. Here are a few of the variables that you can update. Heading: .headerDivbar -this changes the color of the banner that appears under the graphic Button colors: .navCellOn - changes the color of the mode buttons when your mouse is hovering on them. .navCellOff - changes the color of the mode buttons when the mouse is not over them Lines: .thorizontal - this is the color of the horizontal lines surrounding the outline .tvertical - this is the color of the vertical lines on the left and right margin in the outline. .tsep - this is the color of the line that separates the outline from the content area Search frame: .tocSearchColor - this is the color of the search area .tocFrameText - this is the background color of the TOC tree. Hint: If you want to try out the changes prior to updating the style, you can update the skin.css in some content you've already published for the player (it's located in the css folder of the player package). This way, you can immediately see the changes without going through publishing. Once you're happy with the changes, update the skin.css in player style. Want to customize more? Refer to the "Customizing the Player" section of the Content Development manual for more details on all the options in the skin.css that can be changed, and pictures of what each variable controls.     Today I installed the Ubuntu 10.10 release on my Desktop PC. I was running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with an Apple Magic Trackpad and everything was working fine. After today's fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.10, I don't see my Apple Magic Trackpad's multitouch working. Two-finger scrolling and three-finger third mouse button clicking are completely broken. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Has anyone had success with Ubuntu 10.10 and an Apple Magic TrackPad? Please help me to fix this issue. Your help is highly appreciated...

  • IPhone UIView:Is it possible to enable userinteraction only on subviews?

    Hi guys, I created a viewcontroller that displays a button which is used to slide a view onto the screen. The idea is to place for instance three such viewcontrollers onscreen, resulting in three buttons at the bottom of the screen providing navigation. The viewcontrollers get stacked, so to the top one is now overlaying the other views and therefore the other buttons. Only the top viewcontroller's button is working in this situation, where I would like all three of them to be clickable. I tried disabling userinteraction on the view and enabling it on the buttons only, but it looks like the superview settings overrule the subview settings. Any ideas?

  • Dell N7110 i7 overheats and doesn't boot when anything is plugged into the USB3 port

    When i plug in any devices (mouse, keyboard) into usb 3.0 system dell n7110 overheats and fan goes crazy with terrible noise. So i'm using 1 usb 2.0 slot now with a usb hub. It doesn't solve the problem completely but system stays at a low fan rate for a longer time. I've tried to lower CPU frequency, but in my case (DELL INSPIRON N7110 i7 on Linux 3.0.0-14-generic #23-Ubuntu SMP Mon Nov 21 20:28:43 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) CPU was pretty cool (51 C) and still the same horrible fan noise. Looks like there is no such problems with ubuntu 10.04 (but there're some other problems). Ubuntu even doesn't boot if anything is plugged into usb 3.0

In my opinion, Apple's iOS has changed everything in Mobile BI.  Yes Blackberry, Android and Symbian and all the rest have their place in the market but I believe that increasingly consumers (not IT departments) influence BI decision making processes.  Consumers are choosing the iPhone and the iPad. The number of iPads I see in business meetings now is staggering.  Some use it for email and note taking and others are starting to use corporate applications.  The possibilities for Mobile BI are countless and I would expect to see iPads enterprise-wide over the next few years.   These new devices will provide just-in-time access to critical business information.  Front-line managers interacting with customers, suppliers, patients or citizens will have information literally at their fingertips. I've experimented with several mobile BI tools.  They look cool but like their Executive Information System (EIS) predecessors of the 1990's these tools lack a backbone and a plausible integration strategy.  EIS was a viral technology in the early 1990's.  Executives from every industry and job function were showcasing their dashboards to fellow co-workers and colleagues at the country club.  Just like the iPad, every senior manager wanted one.  EIS wasn't a device however, it was a software application.   EIS quickly faded into the software sunset as it lacked integration with corporate information systems.  BI servers  replaced EIS because the technology focused on the heavy data lifting of integrating, normalizing, aggregating and managing large, complex data volumes.  The devices are here to stay. The cute stand-alone mobile BI tools, not so much. If all you're looking to do is put Excel files on your iPad, there are plenty of free tools on the market.  You'll look cool at your next management meeting but after a few weeks, the cool factor will fade away and you'll be wondering how you will ever maintain it.  If however you want secure, consistent, reliable information on your iPad, you need an integration strategy and a way to model the data.  BI Server technologies like the Oracle BI Foundation is a market leading approach to tackle that issue. I liken the BI mobility frenzy to buying classic cars.  Classic Cars have two buying groups - teenagers and middle-age folks looking to tinker.  Teenagers look at the pin-stripes and the paint job while middle-agers (like me)  kick the tires a bit and look under the hood to check out the quality and reliability of the engine.  Mobile BI tools sure look sexy but don't go very far without an engine and a transmission or an integration strategy. The strategic question in Mobile BI is can these startups build a motor and transmission faster than Oracle can re-paint the car?  Oracle has a great engine and a transmission that connects to all enterprise information assets.  We're working on the new paint job and are excited about the possibilities.  Just as vertical integration worked in the automotive business, it too works in the technology industry.

  • Architecture of interaction modes ("paint tools") for a 3D paint program

    We are developing a Qt-based application to navigate through and paint on a volume treated as a 3D pixel graphic. The layout of the app consists of three orthogonal slice views on which the user may paint stuff like dots, circles etc. and also erase already painted pixels. Think of a 3D Gimp or MS Paint. How would you design the the architecture for the different interaction modes (i.e. paint tools)? My idea is: use the MVC pattern have a separate controler for every interaction mode install an event filter on all three slice views to collect all incoming user interaction events (mouse, keyboard) redirect the events to the currently active interaction controler I would appreciate critical comments on that idea.

  • console windows not close after stopping program

    Hello, Visual Studio 2005 C++ Windows XP Pro I have a sample application that I am testing, that links with boost libraries. However, the program runs ok. However, when I try and stop the program by clicking the 'Stop Debugging' button. The program ends, but the console window remains open. So I have many of them, as during my testing I am starting and stopping the application. Even when I try and close it by clicking the close button it has no affect. And it doesn't seem to appear under task manager when the program ends. The only way I can close them if I reboot windows. I am thinking it might be a thread that has not closed, and maybe that is keeping the console windows open. Many thanks for any advice,
