How to do it?

    Hi guys, i wanted to make a double border but with no space in between and the double border should be of different color. I tried using image instead but i thought css could probably perform this job for me, i searched the net but hardly find anything close. What i wanted is total of 2px dotted border with top color of #a4a4a4 and bottom color of #474747. Any idea how i can do this instead of creating 2 divs?

    hi, I want to display a children element of my html page all over the browser window.. in other words I would like to enlarge it and keep it the same size the browser window also when it is resized after loading. I was wondering if I have to move this object outside the parent elements or I can set these properties with css. At the moment if I set width:100% and height:100%, it fits the parent (of course) and not the window. thanks

Whenever I open a pdf with: Response.Write("<script>window.open('FilePath');</script>"); All of the font in the page is altered, example, the letter's size increases and some of the letter's colors are switched to black instead of the font that I assigned.   • A way to correct background scaling in iPad's Safari?

    Hi, I have a website using a huge background image (2000x1500) in a div container (100% x 100%). When I open that site on Safari on an iPad it gets scaled down (~40%) in a different proportion than the content (~80%). I moved the background to an img-tag in a div with 100% width and 100% height and an overflow setting "hidden". Exactly the same happens. Is there a CSS Setting that can help Safari to scale down background images in the same proportion as the content?

    I want to make a website that will have multiple pages, but because of a unique navigation bar, I cannot simply link to a new file for each page. What is the best way to accomplish this. Some possibilities that I can think of are having all of them on one page, but using css and javascript to move the other pages offscreen, or using iframes and loading them with javascript. Could someone please direct me to some examples or tutorials?

  • Is there a file diff tool that allows for exceptions?

    We currently use Beyond Compare 3.0 and I am quite pleased with it. However, it would be great if I could easily specify an exclusion for a specific one-time case. This is needed when I am doing a code review of some refactoring. For instance: Old code doSomething(ConstantsInterface.FOOBAR); New code: doSomething(BetterEnumeration.FOOBAR); In this case, I have hundreds of changes that I am reviewing that are essentially all the same exact change and I just want to see the exceptions. It would be great if I could easily specify an exception that indicates these two cases are equal. I know of a way to do it in the grammar, but it is tedious and cumbersome in the case where there are ten or so exceptions. Any other tips?

Everything seems well however the files are getting uncompressed in the folder which has the main perl code module which is running the sub modules. I want the archive to be generated in the folder I specify. When using $tar-extract() it uncompresses in the folder which calls this metohd. when I use $tar-extract_file($arch_file,$dirpath."/$file_name" ) I get an error : No such file in archive: '/home/fsang/dante/workspace/output/s.tar' at /home/fsang/dante/lib/Extraction.pm line 80 Please help I have checked that path and input output there is no issue with it. When I write another file's content like: file.properties.content.write(content); It works, and the file's contents are copied into my file. But I can't insert string directly, like: file.properties.content.write("Stuff like that"); it gives an exception. How can I write string into this file?

    I want to style the :active state of a button that is represented by an . The tag has an inner (beacuse I want to add an icon to this button). I notice the :active state is triggered properly in everything but Internet Explorer. In IE, it appears that the area around the (the 's padding) triggers that :active state, but when clicking directly on the text within the , the :active state is not triggered. Is there a way to fix this without resorting to Javascript?

  • What's causing this background-image to display "incorrectly" in Opera and Firefox?

    I know this is something I'm probably doing wrong, so please don't incinerate me for the thread title. I'm trying to put together a small personal website using HTML 5/CSS3. I've checked with the w3c validator and the site and CSS file fully conform according to the validator (However the validator has a warning attached that it might not be perfect). I'm not sure how to explain it without a picture, so here's a comparison of Chrome/Opera/Firefox: So, you can sorta see how in Chrome the background image is in one non-repeating piece, whereas in Opera/Firefox the image has, oddly, been broken up and placed slightly differently. I'm confident this is due to an error on my part, but I've had no luck at all figuring out why the image is being mangled in Opera and Firefox.   • How to prevent Firefox from putting shadows around input boxes which have had their background colou

    Hi there, I'm creating a set of input fields and using javascript's .style.backgroundColor = "red" to change the colour of any invalid fields. In Chrome, there is no problem. However, in Firefox, as soon as I touch the backgroundColor (even if I set it to white) then I get these strange shadow effects.
