He used to work for Oracle Support years ago but for the last 6 years at UHC. Josh is a member of the ERP DBA team, working with Exalogic, Oracle ERP R12, & RAC. Along the exhibit/vendor row, I met with Marco Gangano, National Sales Manager at Mythics. It was great getting to meet Marco and I look forward to working with his company with regards to Support Best Practices. In addition, Lissette Paez (left) was representing TAM Training.  TAM Training is an Oracle University, award-winning training partner.  They cover training across the scope of Oracle products with 7 facilities in the U.S.  Lissette and I have done a couple of these Oracle Days before.  It's great to see familiar faces.  A little while ago, I was down in this area to work with Citrix with an onsite session on Support Best Practices.  Pablo Leon and Alberto Gonzalez (right)came to chat with me over at the Support booth.  They wanted to know when I was giving my session.  Unfortunately, not this time guys.   • Aggregate SharePoint Event/Items with Exchange appointments into your Calendar view using Calendar O

    In continuation of my previous post about using Calendar Overlay with new SharePoint 2010 when you have other Calendar view in any other lists in SharePoint. Now the other option for Overlay we have is with Exchange. You can overlay current users (logged in user) personal Calendar (from Exchange) onto a existing SharePoint calendar, in any list, by using new Overlay feature. Here is an example: Yes, you have to point to your OWA and Exchange WS url. It can also go and find your web service url, when you click find. In my case, it converted machine name into FQDN. That was smart… I had initial configuration issue, that my test users (Administrator!) didn’t have corresponding Exchange e-mail in SharePoint profile. So you have to ensure that your profiles are in sync with AD/Exchange for e-mail. It picks up current user’s e-mail from profile to pull data from Exchange calendar. My calendar in OWA… Same calendar in Outlook 2010… I think, new Calendar Overlay feature fills a great void. Users can now view SharePoint information within context of their personal calendar.   • Geek Bike Ride at JavaOne 2012 - Pictures

    Following the tradition of JavaOne Latin America 2011, a gorgeous day in San Francisco marked the beginning of JavaOne 2012 with another Geek Bike Ride. About 50 Java developers got together this morning at Fisherman's Wharf and rode a bike along Marina, Crissy Field, Fort Mason, Golden Gate Bridge, and ultimately finishing in Sausalito downtown. This is a beautiful biking trail, mostly flat with a couple of good hills. Some folks even continued to Tiburon for an extra challenge. Check out map by Blazing Saddles for the exact course. They provide excellent bike rentals and a good service too!     Oracle Announces the Availability of Oracle VM Templates for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 Update 2 and Tools 9.1 Update 4.4 Continuing the commitment to rapid and predictable deployments of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Oracle announces the general availability of Oracle VM templates for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Application release 9.1 Update 2 and Tools release 9.1 Update 4.4. These templates can be used with Oracle VM for x86, on the Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, and on the Oracle Database Machine. Oracle VM Templates for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne accelerate the process of setting up a working environment compared to the traditional installation process. The templates can be a key component to a well-managed cloud infrastructure, allowing system administrators to quickly provision fully functional JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environments for evaluation, development, or production use.   • Loading dynamic content and rewrite URL on Hashchange event with Jquery Mobile

    I'm building a mobile version for my website using Jquery Mobile API. The framework provides automate AJAX navigation processing. But as far as i know it require "real" pages for loading purpose. What i want to do is override the automate navigation process of it and process the hashchange on my own. But i can't not rewrite the url using window.hashChange, which is running well on my non-mobile website version : $(function () { $(window).off().hashchange(function () { if (location.hash.length > 1) { PageSelect(); } }); $(window).hashchange(); }); I just only want to take advantage on jquery mobile interfaces, i don't want anything with its automate ajax navigation stuff ! I tried to disable it using ajaxEnabled() but got no luck.

  • JavaServer Faces 2.0 for the Cloud

    A new article now up on otn/java by Deepak Vohra titled “JSF 2.0 for the Cloud, Part One,” shows how JavaServer Faces 2.0 provides features ideally suited for the virtualized computing resources of the cloud. The article focuses on @ManagedBean annotation, implicit navigation, and resource handling. Vohra illustrates how the container-based model found in Java EE 7, which allows portable applications to target single machines as well as large clusters, is well suited to the cloud architecture. From the article-- “Cloud services might not have been a factor when JavaServer Faces 2.0 (JSF 2.0) was developed, but JSF 2.0 provides features ideally suited for the cloud, for example:•    The path-based resource handling in JSF 2.0 makes handling virtualized resources much easier and provides scalability with composite components.•    REST-style GET requests and bookmarkable URLs in JSF 2.0 support the cloud architecture. Representational State Transfer (REST) software architecture is based on transferring the representation of resources identified by URIs. A RESTful resource or service is made available as a URI path. Resources can be accessed in various formats, such as XML, HTML, plain text, PDF, JPEG, and JSON, among others.     Disney has created a real buzz at this year's NRF event. Yesterday morning we began the Oracle Retail Exchange program with a visit to the flagship Disney store in Times Square. Additionally Oracle made a key announcement with Disney  on Oracle Retail's Point of Sale implementation in 330 stores worldwide. Today   Disney's Steve Finney gave a super session on The Magic of Disney at the NRF Big Show. We also saw Disney making an exclusive news announcement about their plans for Global store openings at the Oracle trade show stand - with a little help from Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Disney Stores have been entirely reinvented since the company in 2008 took ownership after previously franchising the retail arm of the business. They have subsequently been a strong Oracle partner and technology has played a key role in their re imagination of the store environment. The new Imagination stores have a 20% higher footfall and margins are up 25%. The Disney brand is synonymous with magical and memorable experiences for children of all ages. The company is achieving a unique retail experience that delights children and shareholders alike!     I've been trying to solve this problem since a few days now without any success. What I'm trying is to make a backup of a virtual machine running Windows Server 2003 SP 2 using VMware Data Recovery 2.0.0.1861. Background "services" refactored, and will only run with a call on app start to PopForumsActivation.StartServices(). This is partly to facilitate future use in Web farms/multiple Web roles. Update to jQuery v1.7.1. Replaced use of .live() with .on() in script, pursuant to jQuery update, which deprecates .live(). FIX: Bug in topic repository around caching keys for single-server data layer. FIX: Pager links on recent topics pointed to incorrect route. FIX: Deleting a post didn't update last user/post time. FIX: Ditched attempt at writing to event log with super failures, since almost no one has permission in production. FIX: Bug in grayed-out fields in admin mail setup.     I have a game with Silverlight / XNA game where text and buttons are created in Silverlight while 3d is done in XNA.   • WoW lua: Getting quest attributes before the QUEST_DETAIL event

    I'd like to determine the attributes of a quest (i.e., information provided by functions such as QuestIsDaily and IsQuestCompletable) before the player clicks on the quest detail. I'm trying to write an add-on that handles accepting and completing of daily quests with a single click on the NPC, but I'm running into a problem whereby I can't find out anything about a given quest unless the quest text is currently being displayed, defeating the purpose of the add-on. Other add-ons of this nature seem to be getting around this limitation by hard-coding information about quests, an approach I don't much like as it requires constant maintenance. It seems to me that this information must be available somehow, as the game itself can properly figure out which icon to display over the head of the NPC without player interaction. The only question is, are add-on authors allowed access to this information? If so, how? EDIT: What I originally left out was that the situations I'm trying to address are when: An NPC has multiple quests The quest detail is not the first thing that shows up upon right-click Otherwise, the situation is much simpler, as I have the information I need provided immediately.

  • Master Page: Dynamically Adding Rows in ASP Table on Button Click event

    In my previous post here, I wrote an example that demonstrates how are we going to generate table rows dynamically using ASP Table on click of the Button control. Now based on some comments in my previous example and in the forums they wanted to implement it within Masterpage. Unfortunately the code in my previous example doesn't work in Masterpage for the following main reasons: The Table is dynamically added within the Form tag and so the TextBox control will not be generated correcty in the page. The data will not be retained on each and every postbacks because the SetPreviousData() method is looking for the Table element within the Page and not on the MasterPage. The Request.Form key value should be set correctly since all controls within the master page are prefixed with the naming containter ID to prevent duplicate ids on the final rendered HTML. For example the TextBox control with the ID of TextBoxRow will turn to ID to this ctl00$MainBody$TextBoxRow. In order for the previous example to work within Masterpage then we will have to correct those three main reasons above and this post will guide you how to correct it. Suppose we have this content page declaration below:   <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainHead" Runat="Server"> </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainBody" Runat="Server"> <asp:PlaceHolder ID="PlaceHolder1" runat="server"> <asp:Button ID="BTNAdd" runat="server" Text="Add New Row" OnClick="BTNAdd_Click" /> </asp:PlaceHolder> </asp:Content> As you notice I've added a PlaceHolder control within the MainBody ContentPlaceHolder.
