  • Syncing Music Everywhere with Google Music and iTunes Match - Will This Work?

    I have the following devices: Personal Laptop running Windows 7/Ubuntu 11.10 (mostly use Ubuntu) Media Server running Windows 7 with PS3 Media Server and iTunes Work Laptop running OSX Snow Leopard iPad iPhone 4S The iPhone just replaced my Droid 2 Global. What I had been doing was using Google Music to watch the folders iTunes was storing music in and moving any new files up to Google Music. The Droid would pull music down from the cloud via streaming or me telling it to make it available offline, I had folders set up with PS3 Media Server to stream them to TV's via DLNA, and used RDP to play music through my speakers in the office. So far it's worked well. Since I've replaced the Droid 2 though with an iPhone, I've lost the syncing ability with Google Music and have to do it via iTunes (I knew this would happen, no big suprise). I got to thinking though - Apple does offer iTunes Match, which allows your devices to stream/download the music from 'the cloud,' much like Google Music. I could then listen to whatever I Wanted (for the most part) on my phone, iPad, and laptops by syncing via iTunes Match. I don't want to loose my MP3s though, and since I've never used iTunes Match, I wonder if the following is a viable solution: Sign up for iTunes Match on my media server Let it scan my library and make available my songs in AAC in the cloud Not delete the media server MP3s Set up other devices to sync to iTunes Match Continue to get MP3s via Amazon or other services and add to iTunes Let the MP3s sync to Google Music, and let the MP3's add to the AAC versions on my devices I think the main kicker is I don't want to lose the MP3 versions of my songs as those will work just fine on all my devices and I generally rip at 320kbps. I don't mind spending $25/year if it means that I can easily shift the music from device to device without much thinking, but I'm not going to pay $25/year to end up converting my library over to AAC just to save myself the hassle of manually syncing my iPad and iPhone.

  • How do I keep folders synced and backed up between two macs using a Linux NAS (rsync?)

    I've got two primary computers, one Mac Pro and one MacBook Pro for when I'm on the go. I've also got a Linux sever which also acts as NAS. Currently I backup the entire computers to an external drive with Time Machine which is rather useless and doesn't sync anything. What I really want to do is to keep my important files synced between both computers and my NAS (which is running RAID 5), that way I'm not backing up easily replaceable systemfiles and I've got all my important files in 3 places where two of them are running raid so at least 5 drives would have to crash at the same time before actual data loss occur. Folders I want to keep synced is basically my photo, documents, development, mamp and work folders and then I want to keep the user library folder backed up but not synced. I'm thinking that I'd have to use rsync but don't know how. Before suggesting Dropbox and similar suggestions I don't want to use them because of several reasons some of them being security (Dropbox obviously proved this), Speed (sometimes I'll sync gigabytes of data and that will be significantly faster locally and probably even through VPN as I have a Gigabit pipe), Space (space on my NAS is cheap and only practically limited by my needs), reliability (even if my internet were to go down I still need to be able to keep my files synced incase I'd need to go somewhere on the fly), price (I already have all the hardware and for the amount of gigabytes and bandwidth I'd need I doubt that there's any free or cheap service). Those are my main reason for wanting to keep it locally. I'm sorry for any spelling or grammatical mistakes that I've might have done. I'm writing this on my smartphone from a shaky train and English isn't my mother tongue. I gratefully appreciate any answers even if only partly solving my problem.

  • ownCloud WebDAV interface seems to be broken

    I've been trying to host ownCloud on my server but everytime I try to it tells me this : Your web server is not yet properly setup to allow files synchronization because the WebDAV interface seems to be broken. Please double check the installation guides. This is my setup : Windows Server 2012 R2 IIS 8.5 PHP 5.5.11 ownCloud 6.0.3 MySQL 5.6.17 I tried google the error but I can't seem to find anything usefull. Some say I should try if this works : [hostname]/remote.php/webdav/ and yes I can navigate to this folder and I can open files from there. The calendar works and I can also just upload files the web version of ownCloud the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the sync client.   • Syncing Multiple Google Calendars and with Outlook and Android

    Perhaps this is a multipart question, but I deal with a lot of calendars in my life, and want to know if there is some way to sync them all together, and maintain appropriate privacy. So I have a family calendar that my ex and I maintain for kid events, and I have a personal calendar for my own life, and I have an Outlook work calendar, for work. Ideally I'd look at my calendar on my Android phone. Is it possible to sync them all together? Is it possible for there to be one calendar to rule them all on my phone, but have the other calendars blank out spaces that are from other calendars, but only show the blanked out without the details. (I don't want my date with Miss Hottie to appear that way on the family calendar, and I probably don't want my visit to the proctologist to appear in the corporate exchange server.) Are there tools available to do this? Bonus question, can I do the same with my to do lists? Double bouns question -- how can I solve world hunger and help us to all live together in peace? :-)

  • Synchronize two directories on linux pc

    I need a distributed filesystem (or a synchronization tool) that is capable of keeping a directory synchronized across 4 pc. My requirements are: offline access (data must be available offline on each pc) preserve execution rights: some files are marked executable on a linux partition. This flag should be replicated. efficient sync strategy: some of my files are 20GB, they are changed quite often, but in very little parts (Virtualbox images). Delta transmissions are welcome. efficient handling of space: no history for files, files shouldn't be copied to temp directories "just in case you break it". it must propagate deletions of files modification can happen in any of the 4 pcs, they should be propagated when other pc are connected. Other specs of my solution are: Sync is over a lan, the total amount of data to be synced is around 180GB, in some ten thousand files. Changes are small, but can happen in big files. At the moment i'm interested in a linux only solution. conflicts either don't happen or are solved with "last one wins" I haven't found any good solution. I've been trying: unison: it is the only one working at the moment, but during the hashing phase it hangs my pc for some minute, disk light steady on. Sparkleshare doesn't handle large files nicely. It keeps an history of all your changes that grows up indefinitely. They promise it will be fixed in next releases, but at the moment it still doesn't fit my needs. owncloud (keeps history of each file i change) coda ? (help! i couldn't set it up correctly!) git-annex assistant transforms all your files in symlinks and mark the original file as read only ("just in case you make a mistake while you modify it"!). Before you edit a file you have to issue a special command "git-annex unlock", that creates a local copy of the file, and you have to remember to lock it again if you want it synchronized. What to try next?

  • How to ensure local file is up-to-date or ahead (dropbox sync) before truecrypt auto-mount it?

    There are a lot tutorials out there that states that dropbox build-in encryption is not secure enought. That tutorials recommands to sync a truecrypt container file to have all files in it securely encrypted. This setup is know to be limited. You can NOT have that truecrypt container file mounted on the same time on more than one location - if you have inserted changes to the contents of the container in more then one location at a time then this setup produces a conflict on the container file in the dropbox system - resulting in one container file for each location. In my case that issue is not relevant - i do not use my data on more than one location at a time. I want to use the auto-mount feature of truecrypt on startup of windows 7 to have a zero configuration environment - and start working right away. But i want to ensure that the local truecrypt container file is up-to-date before truecrypt mounts it automatically - imagine you updated the contents of the container on your primary location and your secondary location was off for a long time. In that case it can take "a long time" till dropbox sync is complete (e.g. depending on your internet connection and the size of the container file). There is a option in truecrypt that ensures that truecrypt do not update the timestamp of the container file - which speeds up the sync, because dropbox client is doing a differential sync then instead of a time consuming full-sync. That is an improvement to that setup, but this do not fix my issue. The question is how to make the auto-mount function wait for the container file to be up-to-date (updated by dropbox)? In contrast: if the file was changed local, but remote file (in the dropbox cloud system) is still old (not jet updated by the sync process / or process is progress), should not make truecrypt to wait for the sync. Suggestions?

What is new with VS 2010 and .NET 4 Today’s release is a big one – and brings with it a ton of new feature and capabilities. The VS 2010 Debugger and Profiling support is now much, much richer and enables new features like Intellitrace (aka Historical Debugging), debugging of Crash/Dump files, and better parallel debugging.  VS 2010’s multi-targeting support is now much richer, and enables you to use VS 2010 to target .NET 2, .NET 3, .NET 3.5 and .NET 4 applications.  And the infamous Add Reference dialog now loads much faster. TFS 2010 is now easy to setup (you can now install the server in under 10 minutes) and enables great source-control, bug/work-item tracking, and continuous integration support.  Testing (both automated and manual) is now much, much richer.  And VS 2010 Premium and Ultimate provide much richer architecture and design tooling support. VB and C# Language Features VB and C# in VS 2010 both contain a bunch of new features and capabilities.  VB adds new support for automatic properties, collection initializers, and implicit line continuation support among many other features.  C# adds support for optional parameters and named arguments, a new dynamic keyword, co-variance and contra-variance, and among many other features. ASP.NET 4 and ASP.NET MVC 2 With ASP.NET 4, Web Forms controls now render clean, semantically correct, and CSS friendly HTML markup. Built-in URL routing functionality allows you to expose clean, search engine friendly, URLs and increase the traffic to your Website.  ViewState within applications can now be more easily controlled and made smaller.  ASP.NET Dynamic Data support has been expanded.  More controls, including rich charting and data controls, are now built-into ASP.NET 4 and enable you to build applications even faster.  New starter project templates now make it easier to get going with new projects.  SEO enhancements make it easier to drive traffic to your public facing sites.  And web.config files are now clean and simple. ASP.NET MVC 2 is now built-into VS 2010 and ASP.NET 4, and provides a great way to build web sites and applications using a model-view-controller based pattern. ASP.NET MVC 2 adds features to easily enable client and server validation logic, provides new strongly-typed HTML and UI-scaffolding helper methods.  It also enables more modular/reusable applications.  The new <%: %> syntax in ASP.NET makes it easier to HTML encode output.  Visual Studio 2010 also now includes better tooling support for unit testing and TDD.  In particular, “Consume first intellisense” and “generate from usage" support within VS 2010 make it easier to write your unit tests first, and then drive your implementation from them. Deploying ASP.NET applications gets a lot easier with this release. You can now publish your Websites and applications to a staging or production server from within Visual Studio itself. Visual Studio 2010 makes it easy to transfer all your files, code, configuration, database schema and data in one complete package. VS 2010 also makes it easy to manage separate web.config configuration files settings depending upon whether you are in debug, release, staging or production modes. WPF 4 and Silverlight 4 WPF 4 includes a ton of new improvements and capabilities including more built-in controls, richer graphics features (cached composition, pixel shader 3 support, layoutrounding, and animation easing functions), a much improved text stack (with crisper text rendering, custom dictionary support, and selection and caret brush options).  WPF 4 also includes a bunch of support to enable you to take advantage of new Windows 7 features – including multi-touch and Windows 7 shell integration. Silverlight 4 will launch this week as well.  You can watch my Silverlight 4 launch keynote streamed live Tuesday (April 13th) at 8am Pacific Time.  Silverlight 4 includes a ton of new capabilities – including a bunch for making it possible to build great business applications and out of the browser applications.  I’ll be doing a separate blog post later this week (once it is live on the web) that talks more about its capabilities. Visual Studio 2010 now includes great tooling support for both WPF and Silverlight.  The new VS 2010 WPF and Silverlight designer makes it much easier to build client applications as well as build great line of business solutions, as well as integrate and bind with data.  Tooling support for Silverlight 4 with the final release of Visual Studio 2010 will be available when Silverlight 4 releases to the web this week. SharePoint and Azure Visual Studio 2010 now includes built-in support for building SharePoint applications.  You can now create, edit, build, and debug SharePoint applications directly within Visual Studio 2010.  You can also now use SharePoint with TFS 2010. Support for creating Azure-hosted applications is also now included with VS 2010 – allowing you to build ASP.NET and WCF based applications and host them within the cloud. Data Access Data access has a lot of improvements coming to it with .NET 4.  Entity Framework 4 includes a ton of new features and capabilities – including support for model first and POCO development, default support for lazy loading, built-in support for pluralization/singularization of table/property names within the VS 2010 designer, full support for all the LINQ operators, the ability to optionally expose foreign keys on model objects (useful for some stateless web scenarios), disconnected API support to better handle N-Tier and stateless web scenarios, and T4 template customization support within VS 2010 to allow you to customize and automate how code is generated for you by the data designer.  In addition to improvements with the Entity Framework, LINQ to SQL with .NET 4 also includes a bunch of nice improvements.  WCF and Workflow WCF includes a bunch of great new capabilities – including better REST, activation and configuration support.  WCF Data Services (formerly known as Astoria) and WCF RIA Services also now enable you to easily expose and work with data from remote clients. Windows Workflow is now much faster, includes flowchart services, and now makes it easier to make custom services than before.  More details can be found here. CLR and Core .NET Library Improvements .NET 4 includes the new CLR 4 engine – which includes a lot of nice performance and feature improvements.  CLR 4 engine now runs side-by-side in-process with older versions of the CLR – allowing you to use two different versions of .NET within the same process.  It also includes improved COM interop support.  The .NET 4 base class libraries (BCL) include a bunch of nice additions and refinements.  In particular, the .NET 4 BCL now includes new parallel programming support that makes it much easier to build applications that take advantage of multiple CPUs and cores on a computer.  This work dove-tails nicely with the new VS 2010 parallel debugger (making it much easier to debug parallel applications), as well as the new F# functional language support now included in the VS 2010 IDE.  .NET 4 also now also has the Dynamic Language Runtime (DLR) library built-in – which makes it easier to use dynamic language functionality with .NET.  MEF – a really cool library that enables rich extensibility – is also now built-into .NET 4 and included as part of the base class libraries.  .NET 4 Client Profile The download size of the .NET 4 redist is now much smaller than it was before (the x86 full .NET 4 package is about 36MB).  We also now have a .NET 4 Client Profile package which is a pure sub-set of the full .NET that can be used to streamline client application installs. C++ VS 2010 includes a bunch of great improvements for C++ development.  This includes better C++ Intellisense support, MSBuild support for projects, improved parallel debugging and profiler support, MFC improvements, and a number of language features and compiler optimizations. VS 2010 Installation Notes If you have installed a previous version of VS 2010 on your machine (either the beta or the RC) you must first uninstall it before installing the final VS 2010 release.  I also recommend uninstalling .NET 4 betas (including both the client and full .NET 4 installs) as well as the other installs that come with VS 2010 (e.g. ASP.NET MVC 2 preview builds, etc).  The uninstalls of the betas/RCs will clean up all the old state on your machine – after which you can install the final VS 2010 version and should have everything just work (this is what I’ve done on all of my machines and I haven’t had any problems). The VS 2010 and .NET 4 installs add a bunch of new managed assemblies to your machine.  Some of these will be “NGEN’d” to native code during the actual install process (making them run fast).  To avoid adding too much time to VS setup, though, we don’t NGEN all assemblies immediately – and instead will NGEN the rest in the background when your machine is idle.  Until it finishes NGENing the assemblies they will be JIT’d to native code the first time they are used in a process – which for large assemblies can sometimes cause a slight performance hit. If you run into this you can manually force all assemblies to be NGEN’d to native code immediately (and not just wait till the machine is idle) by launching the Visual Studio command line prompt from the Windows Start Menu (Microsoft Visual Studio 2010->Visual Studio Tools->Visual Studio Command Prompt).  Within the command prompt type “Ngen executequeueditems” – this will cause everything to be NGEN’d immediately. How to Buy Visual Studio 2010 You can can download and use the free Visual Studio express editions of Visual Web Developer 2010, Visual Basic 2010, Visual C# 2010 and Visual C++.  These express editions are available completely for free (and never time out).   • Oracle Service Registry 11gR1 Support for Oracle Fusion Middleware/SOA Suite 11g PatchSet 2

    As you might be aware, a few days back we released Patchset 2 (PS2) for several products in the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 stack including WebLogic Server and SOA Suite. Though there was no patchset released for Oracle Service Registry (OSR) 11g, being an integral part of Fusion Middleware & SOA, OSR 11g R1 ( 11.1.1.2 ) is fully certified with this release. Below is some recommended reading before installing OSR 11g with the new PS2 : OSR 11g R1 & SOA Suite 11g PS2 in a Shared WebLogic Domain If you intend to deploy OSR 11g in the same domain as the SOA Suite 11g, the primary recommendation is to install OSR 11g in its own Managed Server within the same Weblogic Domain as the SOA Suite, as the following diagram depicts : An important pre-requisite for this setup is to apply Patch 9499508, after installation. It basically replaces a registry library - wasp.jar - in the registry application deployed on your server, so as to enable co-deployment of OSR 11g & SOA Suite 11g in the same WLS Domain. The patch fixes a java.lang.LinkageError: loader constraint violation that appears in your OSR system log and is now available for download. The second, equally important, pre-requisite is to modify the setDomainEnv.sh/.cmd file for your WebLogic Domain to conditionally set the CLASSPATH so that the oracle.soa.fabric.jar library is not included in it for the Managed Server(s) hosting OSR 11g. Both these pre-requisites and other OSR 11g Topology Best Practices are covered in detail in the new Knowledge Base article Oracle Service Registry 11g Topology : Best Practices. Architecting an OSR 11g High Availability Setup Typically you would want to create a High Availability (HA) OSR 11g setup, especially on your production system. The following illustrates the recommended topology. The article, Hands-on Guide to Creating an Oracle Service Registry 11g High-Availability Setup on Oracle WebLogic Server 11g on OTN provides step-by-step instructions for creating such an active-active HA setup of multiple OSR 11g nodes with a Load Balancer in an Oracle WebLogic Server cluster environment.     The RAC team did it again (thanks Saar!) - another awesome set of Oracle VM templates published and uploaded to My Oracle Support. You can find the main page here. What's special about the latest version of DeployCluster is that it integrates tightly with Oracle VM 3 manager. It basically is an Oracle VM frontend that helps start VMs, pass arguments down automatically and there is absolutely no need to log into the Oracle VM servers or the guests. Once it completes, you have an entire Oracle RAC database setup ready to go. Here's a short summary of the steps : Set up an Oracle VM 3 server pool Download the Oracle VM RAC template from oracle.com Import the template into Oracle VM using Oracle VM Manager repository - import Create a public and private network in Oracle VM Manager in the network tab Configure the template with the right public and private virtual networks Create a set of shared disks (physical or virtual) to assign to the VMs you want to create (for ASM/at least 5) Clone a set of VMs from the template (as many RAC nodes as you plan to configure) With Oracle VM 3.1 you can clone with a number so one clone command for, say 8 VMs is easy. Assign the shared devices/disks to the cloned VMs Create a netconfig.ini file on your manager node or a client where you plan to run DeployCluster This little text file just contains the IP addresses, hostnames etc for your cluster.   • Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon support

    I am considering selling my Mac to get money towards a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 because what I really want to do is to be running an Ubuntu system all the time. Is this machine completely supported in Ubuntu, with no tiny little feature missing just because I am "going Linux"? Optional user story section, skip to the question below if you don't have time: I have a friend who bought a "works on Ubuntu" system a year ago and has hated the fact ever since: battery lasts less than if he boots in Windows (which he despises) and he ascribes that to "no good OS/harware integration and support for advanced chipset power management features", odd behaviour on suspend/resume/hibernate (says: "when it works 90% of the time and the other 10% it makes you lose your work is as good as broken - 90% is the same as 0% he says), some occasional graphics card glitches he can perfectly well live with and has almost grown affectionate to, and finally, and that is what would make him undo his choice if he could, bad "input device drivers". He says: trackpoint and trackpad just "feel different", "so much better" on Windows and that was impossible to know from the website brochure. That story makes me very doubtful... but I want to abandon this "walled garden" of prison that is my Mac and go Ubuntu all the way, no doubt about that! My dilemma at this time is just: "I don't want to live with those eternal frustrations for sure"! Here's a directly answerable phrasing of my question: Is the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 supported on Ubuntu? Yes/no, which version? Which hardware features are not supported? Provide a list Optionally: sort the list in descending order of frustration from your experience Optionally: mention if there are acceptable workarounds to the "out-of-the-box" condition described in the earlier points and whether this ameliorates frustration at least to "tolerable" levels Comment: the Ubuntu hardware certification page is so not-for-end-users it's unreal. Whoa. What would make it end-user friendly is: Link to "buy here and you'll be just fine, this is the right configuration for you, it'll work as long as you press BUY on that page and don't browse further" Remove mentions of may and might not work. Just tell it straight: press buy here and you will get a working system with the exception of A, B, C (so that I can decide whether the philosophical "freedom pleasure" I get from escaping an Apple world is enough to off-balance the loss, for instance, of Bluetooth capabilities (something that I of course use on my Mac) but "could" lose to use free (as in freedom) software The certification page fails to dispel doubts in me as an end-user. I don't feel "eased into Ubuntu", I feel "partially informed".

  • Snow Leopard doesn't repair permissions, despite showing / saying its fixed them?

    Sometime ago, I used carbon copy as I was replacing my hard drive in my Mac Mini running Snow Leopard. Afterwards, on my new drive I had some permission problems.     My Configure Command doesn't say anything about jpg, nor gif/png, but I can see gif/png support in the output of phpinfo(). I built PHP with --with-gd, but only GIF Support and PNG Support are in the output of phpinfo(), how do I enable JPEG Support? UPDATE I got this problem when compiling : Sorry, I cannot run apxs. Possible reasons follow: 1. Perl is not installed 2. apxs was not found. Try to pass the path using --with-apxs2=/path/to/apxs 3.   • VNC as a Support Tool Over the Internet

    I'd like to set up an environment where I can use VNC to remotely support my clients over the internet. No VPNs involved. I've used the UltraVNC repeater in the past, but the problem is that it requires a dedicated Windows server. What I'd like to do is as follows: VNC Client (me) - NAT - Internet - NAT - VNC Server (the person I'm offering support to) I'd basically like the same functionality that the UltraVNC repeater offers, but the only internet environment I have to host something on is a Linux shared server (standard hosting - PHP, Apache, etc.). Requirements: Multiple platform support for both Client and Server - specifically Mac and Windows Allows for connection with multiple NATs involved (Client and Server side) Will allow me to use my existing hosting environment for any repeater that might be involved I believe the way this would work is that the Server (the person I'm offering support to) when online would connect to a listener on the internet. When they needed support I would connect my Client to the same listener, see them connected, and use the listener (man-in-the-middle) to piggyback my Client to connect to their Server. I'm open to using any software (not limiting myself to VNC) but would prefer a FOSS solution (which is why I'm leaning towards VNC). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    i just realized that the rpm version of php that i have installed on the server don't have sqlite support (well it have the PDO support but for some reason don't work) so i installed as a PECL extension, and now it show the support on the phpinfo() but still the open inviter script give me the error of: Call to undefined function sqlite_open() and i already restarted httpd also any hint where i can find a solution or guide?

More recently i've switched to Chrome, but it does not support high-dpi displays. i'm interested in trying other browsers, but they must support protected mode. Are there any other browsers, besides IE and Chrome, that support Mandatory Integrity Levels (i.e. protected mode)?     I've been using the Jcraft SFTP plugin for Team Synchronisation up till now but I ran across a rumour it's being deprecated by "Target Management". Still, despite my best efforts I haven't found any information on HOW you are supposed to setup a sync with RSE/Target Management. Can anybody provide a step-by-step guide or at least clarification on whether this is actually possible right now or just a planned feature. I do my testing locally then sync to the remote - which may have changes made by other users. I want to be able to see differences and deal with conflicts etc just like with the current Team Synchronization framework.

We will have the same branch names and stream names in both GIT and CC, so scripting shouldn't be a problem. Hi everyone, Now, I lost one day to figure out, the reason my FreeBSD10 can not authenticate SSH user via LDAP because pam_ldap and nss_ldap do not support SSHA password when OpenLDAP support SSHA method. I have checked /usr/local/etc/ldap.conf, they just have these pam_password methods: clear, crypt, nds, racf, ad, exop. So, If I switch to CRYPT, I can authenticate successfully. So, IMHO, I will be very appreciative for any point or suggestion from everyone to make my FreeBSD10 PAM support SSHA, is there any way or can not? Infor: Ldap Server (389 DS - Centos) - Ldap client (FreeBSD10) what I have got: authen via Ldap between Centos - Centos (Okie).   • Exchange 2010 DAG + VMWare HA = no support?

    We currently have an Exchange 2003 clustered environment (two machine cluster) that we're looking to upgrade to 2010. We recently purchased a VMWare virtualization environment (three Dell R710's with an EMC NS-120 serving up NFS datastores - iSCSI is available) that we wish to use for this new environment. I'm seeing that Microsoft does not support Exchange 2010 DAGs with a virtualization high availability solution (see links below). I would like to utilize the DAG to ensure the data stays available if one host goes down, and HA to ensure that if the physical host goes down, the VM will come back up on the other available host. Does anybody know why MS does not support this? VMWare HA will only restart the VM if it is hung/down - I don't see any difference between this and restarting the physical box if someone pulled the power... Will we only run into issues with support if it has something to do with HA/DAG failover or will they see we have HA and tell us to put it on a physical box even if it has nothing to do with HA? If we disable HA for these VM's will that satisfy them on a support case? Has anybody set up an Exchange 2010 DAG on VMware with HA enabled? Will they have any issues with using an NFS datastore? We have much greater flexibility on the EMC with NFS vs iSCSI, so I would prefer to continue utilizing that.   • Dell Driver Support for Latitude E6320 Windows 7 Enterprise

    I recently did a reinstall of Windows 7 Enterprise on a Dell Latitude E6320, which is a 64 bit system. After the install process, and doing typical Windows Update stuff, I looked at my Device Manager and found that I had devices which were missing drivers. My missing drivers: After going to the Dell Support site and looking at the files, and doing some sleuthing I found the following support document: http://downloads.dell.com/utility/Latitude%20E-Family%20%20Mobile%20Precision%20Re-Image%20How-To%20Guide%20-%20A03%20Rev%203%200.pdf This document hints in appendix C that the Broadcom USH is the Control Point Security and the Unknown device is Micro freefall sensor. The network controller is my wireless, as I cannot connect wirelessly, and the final missing driver I am not sure. Attempting to install the control point security exe on the support page will not work. After downloading, I am given the message that I am attempting to install a 32 bit driver on a 64 bit machine EVEN THOUGH I selected the win7 64 bit option from the support page. Beyond that, some of the drivers (Which are confusing to read and hard to understand what they do) and the system utilities which are supposedly supposed to make this process simpler will either a) not run because they are 32 bit exe's or b) the support page cannot find the file attempted to download. Is there anything I can do to get (at the very least) my wireless running, but idealistically all of my drivers. A solution which assumes Dell is completely incompetent would be ideal. :P Some forums have said that I should download the chipset driver, others say to get the system utility file (DSS_UTIL_WIN_R282536.EXE). I have had no luck as of yet...
