  • jquery sortable scroll problem

    - by Sam Vloeberghs
    Hi I'm having problems using the sortable function of jQ:uery UI. The scroll doesn't seem to work.. If the second list ( lists are created on the table rows in a tbody and each tbody is connect ) isn't visible I want it to be possible to scroll towards it for dropping my table row. This is my HTML set up: <ul> <li> <ul> <li> <table class="treeleerling"> <tbody class="oder0"> <tr class="suborder0"> </tr> <tr class="sub1order"> </tr> </tbody> </table> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <ul> <li> <table class="treeleerling"> <tbody class="oder1"> <tr class="suborder0"> </tr> <tr class="suborder1"> </tr> </tbody> </table> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> And jQuery code $(document).ready(function() { $("#left tbody").sortable({ connectWith : '#left tbody', scroll : true, scrollSensitivity: 40, }); }); The sorting works fine, but the scrolling doesnt.. I'm doing something wrong or what? Plz help and advice.. Thx in advance!

  • How to use "this" and not "this" selectors in jQuery

    - by tg4FSI
    I have 4 divs with content like below: <div class="prodNav-Info-Panel">content</div> <div class="prodNav-Usage-Panel">content</div> <div class="prodNav-Guarantee-Panel">content</div> <div class="prodNav-FAQ-Panel">content</div> And a navigation list like this: <div id="nav"> <ul id="navigation"> <li><a class="prodNav-Info" ></a></li> <li><a class="prodNav-Usage" ></a></li> <li><a class="prodNav-Guarantee"></a></li> <li><a class="prodNav-FAQ" ></a></li> </ul> </div> When the page is first displayed I show all the content by executing this: $('div.prodNav-Usage-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Guarantee-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-FAQ-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Info-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); Now, when you click the navigation list item it reveals the clicked content and hides the others, like this: $('.prodNav-Info').click( function() { $('div.prodNav-Info-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Usage-Panel').fadeOut('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Guarantee-Panel').fadeOut('slow'); $('div.prodNav-FAQ-Panel').fadeOut('slow'); }); So what I have is 4 separate functions because I do not know which content is currently displayed. I know this is inefficient and can be done with a couple of lines of code. It seems like there is a way of saying: when this is clicked, hide the rest. Can I do this with something like $(this) and $(not this)? Thanks, Erik

  • How to display a flyout menu on clicking an image in Grid header in MVC?

    - by Vincent
    A grid is displayed using the following code in MVC. <%= this.Grid( "routes-" + mc , "Testing", Model.Routes, new GridBuilder<RouteModel>() .Column( "chk", () => Html.Image( Url.Content( "down.gif" ), "Select or deselect tests" ), (m) => "<input type='hidden' name='routeLinkId' value='"+ m.RouteLinkID +"' />" + Html.CheckBox( "drugRoute" + mc + m.RouteLinkID, m.IsChecked ) ) .Column( "route clip-text", "Route", (m) = Html.Encode( m.Route ) ) .Column( "groups clip-text", "Groups", (m) = "" + Html.Encode(m.Group) + "" ) .ToGrid() ) % On clicking the image in header I need to display a flyout menu. The code for the flyout menu is below. <div id="group-menu-<%= mc %>" class="flyout-menu" title="Select tests"> <div> <p>Select</p> <ul> <li><button type="button" name="one">One</button></li> <li><button type="button" name="two">two</button></li> </ul> <p>Unselect</p> <ul> <li><button type="button" name="unselect-one">one</button></li> <li><button type="button" name="unselect-two">two</button></li> </ul> </div> </div> Now how do I display this menu on clicking the image in header.

  • MVC Multiple submit buttons on a array of objects

    - by Kieron
    Hi, I've got a list of objects in an MVC view, each with a set of submit buttons - Move up, Move down and Remove. Using the answer from this question, I can get the button clicked - but I need to know which item it would be operating on. The problem comes from the fact the input's value attribute is passed back, I need more information than that - i.e. an id. Below is a snippet of the contents of a for loop, rendering each item. <ul> <li><input type="submit" name="SubmitButton" value="Move-Up" class="linked-content-position-modifier" /></li> <li><input type="submit" name="SubmitButton" value="Move-Down" class="linked-content-position-modifier" /></li> <li><input type="submit" name="SubmitButton" value="Remove" class="linked-content-modifier" /></li> <li><%= Model.Contents[i] %></li> </ul> When the form is posted back, I can see that the SubmitButton has a value of either Move-Up, Move-Down or Remove - but no idea which item in the array it's referring too. Without changing the value to something really ugly, how would I tell which item it's referring to?

  • How to fix a Sticky Footer that works, but after a browser window is resized, the footer overlaps.

    - by UXdesigner
    Good day, I've been trying to build a perfect footer who sticks at the bottom of the browser window after it's content. And I got help here @ Stack Overflow previously. But after a while, and doing a few tests, found out that after the browser window is resized, and then I scroll down , the footer overlaps...it is causing me a big headache right now and I'd like to fix this so I can move on. I'm going to post the display.css right here: @charset "utf-8"; body, html { margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: center; position: relative; min-height:100%; /* needed for footer positioning*/ height:100%; • Jquery ui sortable clone helper not working

  • Simple list based output instead of style and javascript ridden ASP.net webforms menu

    - by Mike
    Hi All, Is there a way (or component i could use) to output a simple menu. I just need it output as a list, like you would use for a simple superfish menu. I've looked at the menu control and cssadapters (css friendly) which kind of works, except there is a lot of styles and javascript output with the menu which is destroying the look. If I can't find something that outputs a clean list, my next option is to craft some jquery to delete these styles. This is not my preferred option. If you have a better idea, please let me know. Just something that looks like this: <ul> Main Menu <li> hi </li> <li> second menu <ul> <li> <a href="hi.aspx"> in second menu </a></li> <li> <a href="rabbits.aspx"> hi there </a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> Thanks.

  • Scrollable list items in jQuery

    - by Giles B
    Hi Guys, I have a list of 4 items and the ul has a background image that makes the second item look as though it has an arrow behind it. I want to be able to scroll the items up or down when they are clicked to the second items position so for example when I click the fourth item the whole list scrolls up so the fourth item is then postioned over the top of the background image and all the other items will be sitting in the same order above it. I have tried using jQuery Tools with the circular option selected but it clones the first an last item and i end up with a gap when i get to the bottom and I also cant make each item selectable to scroll the list up or down. Here is the code for the list <div id="priceGuide"> <ul id="priceRegion"> <li><a href="#">North & Midlands</a></li> <li><a href="#">London, north of the river</a></li> <li><a href="#">London, south of the river</a></li> <li><a href="#">South & South East</a></li> </ul><!-- /priceRegion --> </div><!-- /priceGuide --> Any help is most appreciated. Thanks Giles

  • Click event keeps firing

    - by Ben Shelock
    I have absolutely no idea why this is happening but the following code seems to be executed a huge ammount of times in all browsers. $('#save_albums').click(function(){ for(var i = 1; i <= 5; i++){ html = $('#your_albums ol li').eq(i).html(); alert(html); } }); Looks fairly innocent to me... Here's the code in it's entirety $(function(){ $('#query').keyup(function(){ var text = encodeURI($(this).val()); if(text.length > 3){ $('#results').load('search.php?album='+text, function(){ $('.album').hover(function(){ $(this).css('outline', '1px solid black') },function(){ $(this).css('outline', 'none') }); $('.album').click(function(){ $('#fores').remove(); $('#yours').show(); if($('#your_albums ol li').length <= 4){ albumInfo = '<li><div class="album">' + $(this).html() + '</div></li>'; if($('#your_albums ol li').length >= 1){ $('#your_albums ol li').last().after(albumInfo); } else{ $('#your_albums ol').html(albumInfo); } } else{ alert('No more than 5 please'); } }); $('#clear_albums').click(function(e){ e.preventDefault; $('#your_albums ol li').remove(); }); $('#save_albums').click(function(){ for(var i = 1; i <= 5; i++){ html = $('#your_albums ol li').eq(i).html(); alert(html); } }); }); } else{ $('#results').text('Query must be more than 3 characters'); } }); });

  • CSS class not being used on list item with styling

    - by scatteredbomb
    I have a list item thats styled based on the div container it's in. I want to add a "selected" class to that item, but it's not changing the styling. Firebug doesn't show it inhereting any styles from that css style. You'll see I'm adding class="columnTabSelected" to the first tab, but that's not changing anything. Here's a screenshot from Firebug to show that style isn't being added to the element. http://i49.tinypic.com/oszfqh.jpg What am i missing? My html <div id="columnNewsTabs"> <ul> <li id="recentHeadlinesLink" onclick="columnNews('recentHeadlines')" class="columnTabSelected">Recent</li> <li id="recentCommentstLink" onclick="columnNews('recentComments')">Comments</li> <li id="popularHeadlinesLink" onclick="columnNews('popularHeadlines')">Popular</li> </ul> </div> My CSS #columnNewsTabs { overflow:auto; } #columnNewsTabs ul { list-style:none; margin:0px; padding-left:0px; } #columnNewsTabs li { float:left; margin-right:2px; font-family:Tahoma; font-weight:bold; padding: 5px; border:1px solid #ccc; border-bottom:none; } #columnNewsTabs li:hover { float:left; margin-right:2px; color:black; font-family:Tahoma; font-weight:bold; padding: 5px border:1px solid #ccc; border-bottom:none; background:#ccc; } #columnTabSelected { background: #CCCCCC !important; }

  • Disabling normal link behaviour on click with an if statement in Jquery?

    - by Qwibble
    I've been banging my head with this all day, trying anything and everything I can think of to no gain. I'm no Jquery guru, so am hoping someone here can help me out. What I'm trying to do in pseudo code (concept) seems practical and easy to implement, but obviously not so =D What I have is a navigation sidebar, with sub menu's within some li's, and a link at the head of each li. When a top level link is clicked, I want the jquery to check if the link has a sibling ul. If it does, the link doesn't act like a link, but slides down the sibling sub nav. If there isn't one, the link should act normally. Here's where I'm at currently, what am I doing wrong? $('ul.navigation li a').not('ul.navigation li ul li a').click(function (){ if($(this).parent().contains('ul')){ $('ul.navigation li ul').slideUp(); $(this).siblings('ul').slideDown(); return false; } else{ alert('Link Clicked') // Maybe do some more stuff in here... } }); Any ideas?

I'm looking to find the element that currently has focus, even if said element is not present upon original page load. So in the above image, if I were to focus on the second element, the list of words should appear under the second element. My focus is currently on the last element, so the words are displayed there. Do I have some sort of fundamental assumption wrong?

    I have the following html: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> </head> <body> <span>not so important</span> <span title="some specific text"><img src="/img/some.gif" /></span> <span title="more specific text">important 1</span> <span title="more specific text">important 2</span> <span title="more specific text">important 3</span> <span title="more specific text"><img src="/img/some.gif" /></span> <ul> <li>example 1</li> <li>example 2</li> <li>example 3</li> <ul> <script> var ul = $('body').append($('<ul>')); $("span[title*='specific text']") .contents() .filter(function(){ return $(this).nodeType != 1; }) .each(function(){ ul.append($('<li>' + $(this).text() + '</li>')); }) </script> </body> </html> I want to retrieve the text within a 'span' whose title attribute contains "specific text", in this case "important 1", "important 2" and "important 3". Then I want to list them below just like the example. However the bullets do not appear, why is that? Any hints would be appreciated!

  • Load external pages using jquery

    - by user1688011
    I'm trying to use jquery to load external pages into the current without reloading. Apparently everything works fine except of one little issue, I hope I'll be clear as much as possible. When I call the page 'info.php' it is loaded into the #content div. That's what the script supposed to do, the problem is that in the main page, which contains the script and the #content div, I already have some code that I want it to be executed when someone visit the page and not to be called from external page. That is actually the case but when I click on one of the links in the menu, I can't go back to the initial content.. <script> $(function() { $('#nav a').click(function() { var page = $(this).attr('href'); $('#content').load(page + '.php'); return false; }); }); </script> <ul id="nav"> <li><a href="#">Page1</a></li> <li><a href="about">About</a></li> <li><a href="contact">Contact</a></li> <li><a href="info">Info</a></li> </ul> <div id="content"> Here I have some code that I wanted to be attributed to the "Page1" </div> Do you have any suggestions how to fix this issue? Thanks

  • In PHP... best way to turn string representation of a folder structure into nested array

    - by Greg Frommer
    Hi everyone, I looked through the related questions for a similar question but I wasn't seeing quite what I need, pardon if this has already been answered already. In my database I have a list of records that I want represented to the user as files inside of a folder structure. So for each record I have a VARCHAR column called "FolderStructure" that I want to identify that records place in to the folder structure. The series of those flat FolderStructure string columns will create my tree structure with the folders being seperated by backslashes (naturally). I didn't want to add another table just to represent a folder structure... The 'file' name is stored in a separate column so that if the FolderStructure column is empty, the file is assumed to be at the root folder. What is the best way to turn a collection of these records into a series of HTML UL/LI tags... where each LI represents a file and each folder structure being an UL embedded inside it's parent?? So for example: file - folderStructure foo - bar - firstDir blue - firstDir/subdir would produce the following HTML: <ul> <li>foo</li> <ul> <li> bar </li> <ul> <li> blue </li> </ul> </ul> </ul> Thanks
