  • Again, user config files C#

    - by George
Hey guys. I have a large config file (user) that i needed to go to the right location and have some default values. Since i have a installer class, i added some parameter setting to the config file in it, but created the config files in the installers folder. What is the best way to ensure these default parameters will be written only once, and in the right location?

  • Strategy for converting a VB6 app to .NET

    - by Craig Johnston
Would it be a good idea to start converting forms into .NET one at a time which you would then invoke from the VB6 app via COM-interop. This way, by the end of the process you would just convert the 'shell' of the VB6 application into a new .NET app, and all your forms are ready to go in .NET. Is there a better strategy?

  • Which versions of NLog work with VS2010 RTM?

    - by Jaxidian
Taking a look at NLog, it's unclear what version works with VS2010. It says that NLog 1.0 Refresh works with VS2010 beta but nothing else is indicated. There's an NLog 2.0 that is pre-beta that I'd rather not use if I didn't have to but it clearly does work with VS2010. So I'm wondering if I'm able to use 1.0 Refresh or do I need to go with 2.0 Preview 2?

  • not sure if this is my mistake ~~ vs2010 Add Service Reference fails

    - by gerryLowry
https://tbe.taleo.net/MANAGER/dispatcher/servlet/rpcrouter the above is from Taleo's API guide. I'm trying to create a WCF Client (e.g.: " Creating Your First WCF Client" http://channel9.msdn.com/shows/Endpoint/Endpoint-Screencasts-Creating-Your-First-WCF-Client/ ) The tbe.taleo... link is from Taleo's API documentation. Likely my understanding is flawed. My assumption is that when the link from Taleo is entered into the vs2010 "Add Service Reference" dialog and GO is clicked, then vs2010 should retrieve a proper WSDL/SOAP envelope back from the Taleo link. That does not happen; instead an error occurs. Fiddler2 (http://fiddler2.com) displays the status code 500 "HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error". [FULL DETAILS BELOW] "WcfTestClient.exe" gives a similar error: [WcfTestClient DETAILS BELOW] QUESTION: is it me, or is the Taleo link flawed? - by Tony Deefer
I have a .htm page on a site, that for reasons I won't go into cannot be renamed .php I have added some php code to the top of the page, (sets a cookie and redirects to another page) and added the following to .htaccess to parse the .htm file as php AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .html .htm As soon as this is added to .htaccess all apostrophe's change into questions marks. Using charset UTF-8 Can anyone offer a solution that does not involve renaming the file .php? Many thanks

  • The C++ Standard: Book Recommendation.

    - by Nawaz
I'm planning to buy this book: The C++ Standard: Incorporating Technical Corrigendum No. 1 http://www.flipkart.com/standard-british-standards-institution-incorporating-book-0470846747 Since it's cost is too much for me (being an Indian we've the habit of buying only low-price edition books :D), I want to make sure if this is the correct edition/version of the Standard. So I need some good advice if I should go for it, or there is better option for me which I'm unaware of. PS: I want to buy hard copy, not PDF.

  • Using Subversion for Web Experiments while maintaining 'view-ability'

    - by Andrew Bolster
I'm experimenting with different workflows and backup schemes, and one thing I'm trying is using subversion for my web experiments. I have an off-site subversion server, and assuming the project is 'public_html' (which in this case it is), I want to be able to go to the index.html page and for it to be rendered instead of just pumped out as a text file. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious; I am not a web developer

  • How to check if TcpClient Connection is closed?

    - by Superdumbell
I'm playing around with the TcpClient and I'm trying to figure out how to make the Connected property say false when a connection is dropped. I tried doing NetworkStream ns = client.GetStream(); ns.Write(new byte[1], 0, 0); But it still will not show me if the TcpClient is disconnected. How would you go about this using a TcpClient?

  • Issue with org.apache.commons.net.ftp.FTPClient listFiles()

    - by James P.
The listFiles() method of org.apache.commons.net.ftp.FTPClient works fine with Filezilla server on 127.0.0.1 but returns null on the root directory of public FTP servers such as belnet.be. There is an identical question on the link below but enterRemotePassiveMode() doesn't seem to help. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2339855/apache-commons-ftpclient-listfiles Could it be an issue with list parsing? If so, how can go about solving this?
