• ignoring elements order in xml validation against xsd

  Hi, Ia processing an email and saving some header inside a xml document. I also need to validate the document against a xml schema. As the subject suggest, I need to validate ignoring the elements order but, as far as I read this seems to be impossible. Am I correct? If I put the headers in a<xsd:sequence>, the order obviously matter. If I us the order is ignored but for some strange reason this imply that the elements must occur at least once. My xml is something like this: <headers> <subject>bla bla bla</subject> <recipient>[email protected]</recipient> <recipient>rcp02domain.com</recipient> <recipient>[email protected]</recipient> </headers> but I think the final document is valid even if subject and recipient elements are swapped. There is really nothing to do?

  I'm working on a login system for a forum and trying to make it work via a c# .net form. I need to programitically click the login button on the forum with a webBrower control. • How to efficiently store and update binary data in Mongodb?

  I am storing a large binary array within a document. I wish to continually add bytes to this array and sometimes change the value of existing bytes. I was looking for some $append_bytes and $replace_bytes type of modifiers but it appears that the best I can do is $push for arrays. It seems like this would be doable by performing seek-write type operations if I had access somehow to the underlying bson on disk, but it does not appear to me that there is anyway to do this in mongodb (and probably for good reason). If I were instead to just query this binary array, edit or add to it, and then update the document by rewriting the entire field, how costly will this be? Each binary array will be on the order of 1-2MB, and updates occur once every 5 minutes and across 1000s of documents. Worse, yet there is no easy way to spread these out (in time) and they will usually be happening close to one another on the 5 minute intervals. Does anyone have a good feel for how disastrous this will be? Seems like it would be problematic. An alternative would be to store this binary data as separate files on disk, implement a thread pool to efficiently manipulate the files on disk, and reference the filename from my mongodb document. (I'm using python and pymongo so I was looking at pytables). I'd prefer to avoid this though if possible. Is there any other alternative that I am overlooking here? Thanks in advnace.

• Searching for empty methods

  I am currently working on a security audit/code review of our system. This requires me to check all pages in the system and make sure that the code behind contains two methods that are used to check security. Sometimes the code in these methods get commented out to make testing easier. So, my question is does anyone know an easy way to search code, make sure the methods are present, and to determine which ones have no code or have all the code commented out. It would make my job much easier if I can get a list instead of having to look at every file... I'm sure I could write this myself, but I thought someone may know of something that already exists. " + spanElement.innerHTML + "\n" + myspan.innerHTML); </script> I explained that a property is attached to the window object with the name of the element's id when the browser parses the document which then contains a reference to the appropriate dom node. It's sort of as if window.myspan = document.getElementById("myspan") is called behind the scenes as the page is being rendered. The ensuing discussion we had raised a few of questions: The window object and most of the DOM are not part of the official JavaScript/ECMA standards, but is the above behavior documented in any other official literature, perhaps browser-related? The above works in a browser (at least the main contenders) because there is a window object, but fails in something like rhino. Is writing code that relys on this considered bad practice because it makes too many assumptions about the execution environment? Are there any browsers in which the above would fail, or is this considered standard behavior across the board? Does anyone here know the answers to those questions and would be willing to enlighten me? I tried a quick internet search, but I admit I'm not sure how to even properly phrase the query. Pointers to references and documentation are welcome.

• jquery append() method on empty XML element

  This could just be a syntax error, but I'm trying to create a Document object from scratch, starting with document.implementation.createDocument() and then using jquery's append() method to add the elements. But it's not appending: var myDoc = document.implementation.createDocument("", 'stuff', null); $("stuff",myDoc).attr("test","tested"); $("stuff",myDoc).append("<test>A</test>"); $("<test>B</test>").appendTo("stuff",soapEnv); var s = new XMLSerializer(); alert(s.serializeToString(soapEnv)); This should output: <stuff test="tested"> <test>A</test> <test>B</test> </stuff> But instead it outputs: <stuff test="tested" /> So the selector seems to be working, just not the method. My only guess is the method doesn't account for the fact that elements are empty (<stuff />) until they have children. But that's just a guess.

• Calling C# from ColdFusion

  I've written a .dll in C# to change the permissions on a folder. I also wrote an .exe to test the .dll and it successfully changes the permissions. Now I'm trying to call the .dll from ColdFusion, but I'm getting an error about System/Security/IPermission not being found. I'm assuming this is an interface in C# that ColdFusion can't find in any of the available assemblies on my system. I've added the System.Security assembly to my References in the C# project. Is there something else I need to do to make sure ColdFusion can find the interface? Do better job with error handling and serving it to the user. I'm already on mission to do security logging with AOP :) I'm just looking for patterns I could implement to help me to do all of the above. Or just some general advice in case no patterns apply, or advice on something I didn't mention but is common practice.

The widget's going to be embedded in a 3rd party site but I figure out how to avoid declaring dependency on jquery on the widget-hosting page: 3rd party's page: <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://mydomain/mywidget.js"></script> </head> mywidget.js jQuery(document).ready(function() { //do stuff }); I'd rather not include jquery.js in the 3d party page but express the dependency inside mywidget.js (so i can change this dependency or add/remove others w/o having to update the widget-hosting page) I tried adding: var script = document.createElement('script'); script.src = 'http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.js'; script.type = 'text/javascript'; document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(script); to the top of mywidget.js but that didn't work - jquery.js did load on page load but "jQuery" was not recognized. • How To Call Javascript In Ajax Response? IE: Close a form div upon success...

  I have a form that when you submit it, it sends the data for validation to another php script via ajax. Validation errors are echo'd back in a div in my form. A success message also is returned if validation passes. The problem is that the form is still displayed after submit and successful validation. I want to hid the div after success. So, I wrote this simple CSS method which works fine when called from the page the form is displayed on. The problem is that I cannot seem to call the hide script via returned code. I can return html like echo "<p>Thanks, your form passed validation and is being sent</p>"; So I assumed I could simply echo another line after that echo "window.onload=displayDiv()"; inside script tags (which I cannot get to display here)... and that it would hide the form div. It does not work. I am assuming that the problem is that the javascript is being returned incorrectly and not being interpreted by the browser... How can I invoke my 'hide' script on the page via returned data from my validation script? I can echo back text but the script call is ineffective. Thanks! This is the script on the page with the form...   I have this code to create a configuration of a java client to connect to a JBoss application server: System.setProperty( "java.security.auth.login.config", "auth.conf" ); LoginContext auth = new LoginContext( "myAuth", new LoginCallbackHandler( username, password ) ); auth.login(); The file auth.conf contains the following lines: myAuth { org.jboss.security.ClientLoginModule required; }; Now, somewhere else in the code (the LoginContext auth isn't known there) I have an EJB that does a initialContext.lookup( jndiName ) and a narrow() to access a Bean on the JBoss application server. This narrow only succeeds if the login information of the first step was correct. Question How does the login information propagate from the LoginContext to the narrow()? I don't see any connection between these two places. And further, how could I do two or more different logins inside of one client?

• Change password in Task Scheduler in script

  I'm changing password every month for all scheduled tasks I created in Task Scheduler. This is because our security policy expires our password every month. Due to increasing number of scheduled tasks I'm creating, it eats up a lot of time in just changing password within Task Scheduler. My question is: Is there a way in script to change password in one run specifying the tasks, DOMAIN\username, and password? I know there's a security risk in putting the password in script. The password in script will be removed after the running it.

• Using Maven for maintaining product documentation

  We are using Maven for building a Java server-style application. It consists of several modules (in a single Maven "reactor") which can be plugged together to generate a final product (essentially a .jar) with the features enabled that the customer needs. All the internals are documented using JavaDoc and all, but that's not what you can give to the customer to find out how to get the thing running. Currently we have an OpenOffice document which serves as end-user documentation. I'd like to integrate this documentation into the Maven build process where each module's documentation is maintained (hand-edited) together with the Module's sources and the final document can reference the required Module documentation sections, add some friendly foreword and, if possible at all, can reference into the JavaDocs. Ultimately, the document should be output as a PDF. Is there any experience on Maven plugins can help with this? Is DocBook the right tool? Maybe Latex? Or something completely different? A sound "stick with OpenOffice and some text blocks" could be an answer, too.

• Call REST service while impersonating a user that is already authorized to the glasfish server

  There are two web-applications deployed on a glassfish server. Both web applications provide a REST web service. the access to both web-services is secured via glassfish security constraints (at the moment BASIC Auth and file-realm). Let's say a user is accessing the service of web application A. After he is authorized, service A wants to call service B via REST client. Is there a way for a service to impersonate a user that is already authorized to the glasfish server? Maybe something like forwarding the security context or editing the headers? • F# script to application

  I have written two small scripts, First one maintains a dictionary of current stock prices for a set of securities. I am using recursion to listen to a named pipe. Whenever there is something available on the name pipe, it updates the security price and goes right back and start listening to the pipe. The second one periodically reads the stock price of some security from the price cache of the first program and performs come calculation. But I have no idea how to make these two programs communicate. I somehow need to make my second programs start the first program and let it run in the background and get the price whenever it needs it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
