  • How can I change the color of a Google Maps marker?

    I'm using the Google Maps API to build a map full of markers, but I want one marker to stand out from the others. The simplest thing to do, I think, would be to change the color of the marker to blue, instead of red. Is this a simple thing to do or do I have to create a whole new icon somehow? If I do have to create a new icon, what's the easiest way to do that?

    I have a free dyndns domain mk12.gotdns.com How can I set up a cname for www.mk12.gotdns.com to point to mk12.gotdns.com? And how can I force the www one, so that if you navigate to mk12.gotdns.com, it will go to the www one? Note: I don't mean html redirecting, but I think you can do it with url rewriting somehow, something like described here. I've seen many tutorials, but they just vaguely say that you have to enter a cname record, I have no clue what file I need to put it in. I understand that help is only installed for the plugins that are installed already. However, I see that PDE(Plugin Development) API reference is not installed on my local eclipse, though a overview of PDE is. Basically, I want to have a local copy of whatever is on eclipse help site . How do I get that in HTML format?

  • How to specify or add directory to Python.h search path during setup.py build/install

    I'm running Linux, and have downloaded a python module I must install without access to any but my particular /home/user directory (I have no root privileges nor the option to pursue them). This of course requires the Python source. This I've downloaded and have laying around in said user directory. While asking the admin to copy the proper files into /usr/include/python2.7 is the easiest way to go about this, I am hoping for a more general and portable solution to this kind of problem. Changing only data in the module source (MANIFEST.in, README.txt, setup.py, etc.), how might I add an arbitrary directory to the search path for Python.h and friends? (Without a solution, "python setup.py build" will continue returning with the "Python.h: No such file or directory" error) Thank you very much. (Additionally, is it acceptable to post this both here and on StackOverflow?)

But i couldnt get pow function when i use Math.pow().   • Autohide scrollbars when not scrolling in a ListView

    In the new official Twitter app, the scrollbars in all the ListViews the app uses are hidden unless the user is scrolling through the list. When you start scrolling, the scrollbars appear. When you stop, they fade out with an animation until they are gone completely. I can't seem to find anything in the documentation that indicates this as being a standard feature. Is this something included in the API? If not, anyone know how this might be done?

    I'm thinking of a web app that uses CouchDB extensively, to the point where there would be great gains from serving with the native erlang HTTP API as much as possible. Can you configure Apache as a reverse proxy to allow outside GETs to be proxied directly to CouchDB, whereas PUT/POST are sent to the application internal logic (for sanitation, authentication...)? Or is this unwise -- the CouchDB built-in authentication options just seem a little weak for a Web App. Thanks

  • Nginx (for static files) and Apache (for dynamic content)?

    So, my entire application runs on apache just fine. However, I want to test how much the requests per second increases if I put all static files through nginx instead. I found this thread: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/869001/how-to-serve-all-existing-static-files-directly-with-nginx-but-proxy-to-apache-t But I have a couple problems. I'm completely new to nginx, so I'm not sure where to put the configuration. (The file is at /etc/nginx/nginx.conf, but I don't know if I just add the code to the bottom or what?) Also, how can I have both servers running at the same time? Is it because they both listen on port 80? Right now I have to stop one to start the other, and that's as far as I've gotten.     I know that under Windows, there are API functions like global_alloc() and such, which allocate memory, and return a handle, then this handle can be locked and a pointer returned, then unlocked again. When unlocked, the system can move this piece of memory around when it runs low on space, optimising memory usage. My question is that is there something similar under Linux, and if not, how does Linux optimize its memory usage?

For example I may want to match strings that start with the string "20% of all", so I want to write something like this: sql = '... WHERE ... LIKE %(myvalue)s' cursor.fetchall(sql, { 'myvalue': escape_sql_like('20% of all') + '%' } Is there an existing escape_sql_like function that I could plug in here?     Is there any function in pandas that can directly read a rotated csv file? To be specific, the header information in the first col instead of the first row. For example: A 1 2 B 3 5 C 6 7 and I would like the final DataFrame this way A B C 1 3 5 2 5 7 Of corse we can get around this problem using some data wangling techniques like transpose and slicing. I am wondering there should be a quick way in API but I could not find it.
