• How to prevent Android bluetooth RFCOMM connection from dying immediately after .connect()?

  I'm trying to connect to a Zeemote (http://zeemote.com/) gaming controller from Moto Droid running 2.0.1 firmware. The test application below does connect to the device (LED flashes) but connection is dropped immediately after that. I can connect to the device perfectly fine using bluez tools (log attached as well). I'm quite at a loss here, I work on it for so long that I ran out of ideas so any help would be very much appreciated.   I have a model like this: public PurchaseOrder { [Required] [StringLength(15)] public virtual string OrderNumber {get;set;} // etc. } When I submit an order from the view (using $.post, not input type=submit) it goes to my controller class: public class PurchaseOrderController { public JsonResult Save(PurchaseOrder order) { // TryUpdateModel(order); // commented out since modelstate.isvalid remains false anyway if (ModelState.IsValid) { // its never valid } } } ModelState.IsValid always returns false, with the error: "The Order Number field is required." But there is a value in this field (?? why) Why would it say "value is required" when it does have a value? Have I missed something? Is it because of the $.post instead of the submit? What can I do? I saw some application which are are working in a similar fashion but they are showing the window while moving (like some virtual keyboards I saw) and also many questions on net about this issue but no answer. Can someone please tell me is it possible to show window/form like this while moving (like "normal" window) and if yes, how to do it? Thanks.

  I need a Fluent NHibernate mapping that will fulfill the following (if nothing else, I'll also take the appropriate NHibernate XML mapping and reverse engineer it). DETAILS I have a many-to-many relationship between two entities: Parent and Child. That is accomplished by an additional table to store the identities of the Parent and Child. However, I also need to define two additional columns on that mapping that provide more information about the relationship. However, the ParentChildRelationship should eager load ParentChildRelationship.Child. Furthermore, I want to use a Join when I eager load. The SQL, when accessing Parent.Children, NHibernate should generate an equivalent query to: SELECT * FROM ParentChildRelationship rel LEFT OUTER JOIN Child ch ON rel.child_id = ch.id WHERE parent_id = ? However, the SQL that NHibernate is generating is inefficient. When I access parent.Children, NHIbernate does a SELECT * FROM ParentChildRelationship WHERE parent_id = 1 and then a SELECT * FROM Child WHERE id = ? for each child in each relationship. I understand why NHibernate is doing this, but I can't figure out how to set up the mapping to make NHibernate query the way I mentioned above.

• Android SlidingDrawer in Eclipse IDE

  I am trying to design an application for Android that makes use of the SlidingDrawer, but I have not been able to use the form (layout?) designer to add this element without producing an exception "IllegalArgumentException: The handle attribute is required and must refer to a valid child." As of March 17th, I believe I have everything up to date (Eclipse, and the Android SDK). All the SDK components have been installed. I have created two Android virtual devices, One for version 1.0, and one for version 2.1 when I figured out that 1.0 didn't support the SlidingDrawer. I have tried importing the samples provided in the SDK, as well as several other layouts from the web that I have found, all of which produce this same exception. My programming background is mostly C++, and I consider myself to be a novice programmer, so feel free to talk to me as if I were an idiot so that I will understand. ^^;

• How to ThinApp a Database Application & SQL Server 2005

  To make it easier for potential clients to try out our software without having to go to the trouble of installing SQL Server, a test database, setting up an ODBC connection and so on, we want to package the whole thing with VMWare ThinApp. Ideally, there'd be a single executable and all the user would have to do is run it. I've been reading up on ThinApp on the VMWare website but am still unsure how to go about doing this. Is the correct approach to put SQL Server and the application in separate packages, reverting to a clean version of the virtual enviroment prior to each packaging? That seems somewhat problematic because the app needs the DBMS to run, as well as an ODBC connection. Like I said, we'd prefer to go with a single package (package = executable?), but two executables are also acceptable if an alternative can't be found. I realize that the same result can probably be achieved by way of a custom SQL Server Express installation but ThinApp looks like a better and more elegant solution.

  I have the following (simplified) public enum Level { Bronze, Silver, Gold } public class Member { public virtual Level MembershipLevel { get; set; } } public class MemberMap : ClassMap<Member> { Map(x => x.MembershipLevel); } This creates a table with a column called MembershipLevel with the value as the Enum string value. What I want is for the entire Enum to be created as a lookup table, with the Membe table referencing this with the integer value as the FK. Also, I want to do this without bas***izing my model. In class UserLog public UserProfile UserProfile { get {return this._UserProfile.Entity;} } In class UserProfile public EntitySet<UserLog> UserLogs { get{return this._UserLogs;} } { set {this._UserLogs.Assign(value); } How would I go about mocking (using Moq) UserLog.UserProfile without changing the autogenerated code? What I would like to do is something like: var mockUserLog = new Mock<UserLog>(); mockUserLog.Setup(c=>c.UserProfile.FirstName).Returns("Fred"); etc I can do this if I go into the designer.cs and make FirstName and UserProfile virtual, however I would like to do this in the partial class.   Let us say we have a class A which has a reference to another class B (1:m) public class A { public virtual B B { get; set; } } I reflect this using FluentNHibernate within the sharp architecture and also manage to ‘initialise’ A and its B via a DTO and Automapper. The DTO contain A’s values and B (just B’s id value/A’s foreign key initialised). I was hoping that I can persist A by ‘just’ using its 'out of the box repository' without requiring B’s repository using: SaveOrUpdate(A); (A has been mapped using AutoMapper and contains B with its Id initialised) Was my assumption too naive? Can I achieve this somehow (without ever requiring B’s repository)? Or do I have to use A’s and B’s repository in, for example, the controller or some other service layer? Thanks. • SCCM 2012 unable to update boot images with pxe enabled

  we are fighting an error in sccm 2012. When we attempt to distribute boot images (after selecting the pxe option) we receive an error that the pxe image cannot be expanded (distmgr log). Can you give us any direction on what to try or attempt in this scenario? We only have one dp in our environment at the moment, however we have found that by creating another dp on a different server we don’t have this problem. However we really need the primary site to be a dp. We have tried: Removing and reinstalling the dp Removing and reinstalling the WDS Reinstalled the OS ... ouch Reinstalled SQL We even attempted to manually mount these wims in the remote install folder, no luck... • InstallShield 2010 - 1603 Fatal Error [Windows Installer] (Windows 7 Only)

  Hi all, I created an MSI InstalScript Project where i deploy a web based (ASP.NET) precompiled project copying the files during installation in the \inetpub\wwwroot\projectnamefolder, creating an AppPool and the virtual dir of course in the IIS. The setup works great in windows XP Pro (SP3 i used). But soon as i try in Windows 7 (tried Ultimate and Home Premium) i get a -1603 Fatal Error during installation...Windows Installer Help (MSI.chm) or MSDN for more info.... Dying to fix this... [Edit] I think error occurs when trying to create the Application in the IIS. [FIXED] Enable 32 Bit Apllications needs to be true when creating Application Pools through InstallShield in a 64 bit OS!

• Change webserver used by Flex in FlexBuilder to .NET Framework 3.5

  I just had to reformat and reinstall Flex and reconstruct a project. The problem is i am using ASP.NET as my server side technology and using LINQ in my files. The version of WebDev.Webserver.exe that FlexBuilder starts up is the wrong version so I get this error : Compiler Error Message: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference?) • Fluent NHibernate Automapping with RIA services

  Hi guys I've encountered a slight problem recently, or rather a lack of understanding of how NHibernate automapping works with RIA data services. Namely, I don't understand how to use Association and Include attributes. For instance, I've created two tables in my database and corresponding classes (that NHibernate correctly fills). The problem is, RIA doesn't generate properties (collections) bound by foreign key to other tables, on the client side, although I've defined them in my classes in my domain model... it generates just properties that belong to their own class, on the client side. I assume that these attributes aren't necessary since NHibernate automapper is supposed to fill those collections on it's own... I'm quite confused as to how this works. And I don't understand why RIA simply skips properties such as public virtual IList<Medication> Medications{ get; set; } during autogeneration. Any input is appreciated Thanks

• SharePoint 2010 FBA with custom form - 403 error

  I have a SharePoint 2010 site that is configured for Forms Based Auth using custom role, membership and profile providers. This works perfectly using the OOTB SharePoint 2010 FBA form (ie. under /_forms in the web app virtual directory). My problem is with a custom login form that is located in a separate folder, /Landing/Login/default.aspx. I've configured the web app to point to this form (contains an unmodified ASP.NET login control), which is rendered when the user hits the root URL. The problem comes when they submit their credentials and the form posts back for the redirection to /_layouts/Authenticate.aspx. It stops cold with a 403. If I revert back to the OOTB FBA form (using the same providers) everything works fine. Any suggestions on what could be going wrong?

  Hello I am a "lone wolf" game developer, and games sell more on Mac (because noone make Mac games... bizarre), so I need to make Mac games. My problem is: I don't own a Mac, and I have no way to get one (unless someone donate one to me...), I don't have money even to upgrade my crappy 3 year old PC, or buy a netbook... So, how I develop for Mac without a Mac? I guess that if I installed Mac OS on my machine, it would do, or can I just use Open Darwin instead? Or Mac OS run on virtual machines?

  I'm using a CListCtrl/CListView report view (LVS_REPORT) in virtual mode (LVS_OWNERDATA) with LVS_EX_DOUBLEBUFFER enabled and I encounter ugly flickering. Double buffer have a real effect but it doesn't stop all flickering (without it very slow). I'm not looking for switching to other controls that would require a high amount of rework (like ObjectListView) How does the flickering behaves: * on column resize - the background is first clean using lightgray and after this is displayed the text (background is white) * on mouse scroll (animated) - for a very short time there is lightgray-bar displayed in the area where new lines are to be displayed. It looks like it does clean the background using the default window background color (lightgray) for the area where it has to redraw. How do I solve the flickering problem?

• Problem in apache2 with mod rewrite when setting rules in .conf files instead of .htaccess

  Hi, Because of weird security policies of my hosting provider I have to define my rewrite rules in /etc/apache2/conf.d/examplesite.conf instead of writing them on an .htaccess on the www folder of that site. What I'm trying to do is setup a Wordpress Mu server (http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/17349 ) and so far its working on a 50%. The main blog loads perfectly but other sub blogs (located for example at www.example.com/blog2 ) don't. I'm guessing the problem is that the rewrite rules behave differently when declared at .conf files for each virtual host instead of using .htaccess files. Has anybody else had this problem? How can you fix it?

The problem seems to be some sort of conflict between the copy of Flex 3 Builder installed on Mac OS X. The installer tries to install Flex in x:/Program Files/Adobe/Flex Builder 3/ but since Parallels Desktop connects all directories, there resides the Flex Builder 3 installation of MAC. When I install the application the virtual directory that has been created has the execute permission checked for the *.dll handler mapping (IIS 7 Web site VDir Handler Mappings *.dll Edit Feature Permissions Execute). When I browse to the application it cannot download its satellite assemblies in ClientBin. If I uncheck the execute permission in IIS the handler becomes disabled and the application now works. I don't want to have to do this manually. Does anybody know how to modify the handler mapping permissions in Wix or a Custom Action? Thanks

I have created a class, and that class calls functions whithin the Windows API. I've also created a wrapper class with virtual functions wrapping the Windows API, as described in the Google Mock CheatSheet. I'm confused however at how I should pass the wrapper into my class that uses that object. Obviously that object needs to be polymorphic, so I can't pass it by value, forcing me to pass a pointer. That in and of itself is not a problem, but I'm confused as to who should own the pointer to the class wrapping the API. So... how should I pass the wrapper class into the real class to facilitate mocking?

On clicking button it calls function with parameter 0 or 1, but it does not initialize camera or display the library.   I've derived from QGLWidget before, like so: class MyGLWidget : public QGLWidget { public: // stuff... virtual void initializeGL() { /* my custom OpenGL initialization routine */ } // more stuff... }; However, I find that if I try to initialize a QGraphicsView with my custom QGLWidget as the viewport, initializeGL doesn't get called (setting a breakpoint within the Qt library, neither does QGLWidget::initializeGL() when created plain). // initializeGL, resizeGL, paintGL not called ui.graphicsView->setViewport(new MyGLWidget(QGLFormat(QGL::DoubleBuffer))); // initializeGL, resizeGL, paintGL *still* not called ui.graphicsView->setViewport(new QGLWidget(QGLFormat(QGL::DoubleBuffer))); Where is the correct location to place the code that currently resides in MyGLWidget::initializeGL()?
