  • Hover only on non-transparent part of image

    - by Nirmal
Is there any way to make only a non-transparent portion of an image to trigger mouse-over event? If the mouse travels to the transparent area, the mouse-out should be triggered and the script should listen for any mouse-over event on a layer underneath the image. Is it possible? Thanks for any input.

  • Manipulating original elements with qTip

    - by pjotr
I have a bunch of divs on my page and each of them has only the class attribute. In the divs there are some spans, which are set up to display a tooltip with the help of qTip. The tooltip should contain three items: Up: anchor, which should move the OuterDiv up (probably something like this: move up/down in jquery) Down: anchor, which should move the OuterDiv down Delete: anchor, which should remove the calling OuterDiv My code so far: <body> <div class="OuterDiv"> <div class="InnerDiv"> <span class="Position">Position 1</span> </div> </div> <div class="OuterDiv"> <div class="InnerDiv"> <span class="Position">Position 2</span> </div> </div> </body> And scripts: $(document).ready(function () { var qTipContent = '<a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="">&uarr;</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;'; qTipContent = qTipContent + '<a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="">&darr;</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;'; qTipContent = qTipContent + '<a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="">X</a>'; $('.Position').each(function () { $(this).qtip({ content: qTipContent, hide: { fixed: true } }) }); }); How should the onclick function in the qTip content look like?

  • PHP Sessions Error

    - by Andrei Korchagin
I'm new to PHP sessions and I've come across the following error: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at somefile:someline). As well as this one: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent by (output started at somefile:someline). The session_start(); is the very first thing in all of my code. I'm not sure what the problem is. It gave me line numbers but all I do on those lines is start the session. Also - I have a portion of code whose POST action is another PHP page. How can I set a $_SESSION variable pertaining to this page within that action page?

  • Questions about HTML5 audio

    - by Nimbuz
<audio src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/82/Riddle_song.ogg"></audio> <ul id="lyrics"> <li>line 1</li> <li>line 2</li> <li>line 3</li> <li>and so on...</li> </ul><!-- end #lyrics --> So I want to: Highlight (change color or background) of the line that is being played. Save current time to a cookie and resume on next visit. I'm not sure if either of these are possible in HTML5, but even in Flash or other technology, I'd like to know if and how it is possible. I understand #2 is asking too much, but #1 is really important. So almost similar to this: http://randallagordon.com/jaraoke/ but all the lines are visible, just the current line is highlighted. Many thanks for your help.

  • Changing a link-style, only for a certain class

    - by abelenky
I want to change the link-style for some of my links, like this: a:hover { /* These links will be blue when hovered-over */ background-color: #3366FF; } However, I only want this to take effect in my Navigation Bar, and not for regular links. I have tried variations on this: #navbar a:hover { /* These links will be blue when hovered-over */ background-color: #3366FF; } With the intended meaning "this only applies to links with <div id="navbar">" But it didn't work. How can I set the style for only certain links, defined by the class or id of their container?

  • PHP: Formatting multi-dimensional array as HTML?

    - by Industrial
    Hi everybody, I have tried to get my head around building a recursive function to handle formatting of a unknown depth multi-dimensional array to HTML and nested Divs. I thought that it should be a piece of cake, but no. Here's what I have come up with this far: function formatHtml($array) { $var = '<div>'; foreach ($array as $k => $v) { if (is_array($v['children']) && !empty($v['children'])) { formatHtml($v['children']); } else { $var .= $v['cid']; } } $var.= '</div>'; return $var; } And here's my array: Array ( [1] => Array ( [cid] => 1 [_parent] => [id] => 1 [name] => 'Root category' [children] => Array ( [2] => Array ( [cid] => 2 [_parent] => 1 [id] => 3 [name] => 'Child category' [children] => Array () ) ) ) ) Thanks a lot!

  • Detecting file upload size on the client side?

    - by DisgruntledGoat
I'm using PHP for file uploads. In the PHP manual it shows an example using a MAX_FILE_SIZE hidden field, saying that it will detect on the client side (i.e. the browser) whether the file is too large or not. I've just tried the example in Firefox, Chrome and IE and it doesn't work. The file is always uploaded, even if it is way larger than the specified hidden field. Incidentally, if the file is larger than MAX_FILE_SIZE then calling move_uploaded_file doesn't work, so it seems the variable is having an effect server-side, but not client-side.

  • Usability of an endless/infinite scroll

    - by Anton Gogolev
What are pros and cons of this technique (see Softfolio for an example). Two things I personally thought of are as follows: Impossible to tell someone where an item of interest is located (like, you probably won't say "324-th row, second column") Broken navigation when you return back to an infinitely scrolled page. What else can you think of? And what do you personally think of this approach in general. Would you use this in you projects?

  • Using Zend_Navigation, how do I create image-based navigation?

    - by SimpleCoder
(I'm assuming my navigation should be in a layout script.) I have a navigation bar composed of rollover images. The image corresponding to the page that is active should be a different color, though. I do this by changing the image. My question is, where and how should I implement this using Zend_Navigation? Details: The menu itself is just a stack of divs that are floated to the left within a container. Each div has a background image. Thank you for your help,

  • Negative margins: can they work in IE7 and IE8?

    - by Haroldo
I'm trying to have a kind of dirty underline effect using a string of hyphens, but I want it slightly closer to the multi-line title than the line-height. Negative margin works a treat in FF but no joy in IE? <p>a multiline title here<p><p style="margin: -7px 0px 10px 0px;">-----------------------------------------------------------------------------</p>
