  • Lazarus - why I can't assign event to run-time component?

    - by Garret Raziel
    Hello, I have this Lazarus program: unit Unit2; {$mode objfpc}{$H+} interface uses Classes, SysUtils, FileUtil, LResources, Forms, Controls, Graphics, Dialogs, StdCtrls, ComCtrls; type { TForm2 } TForm2 = class(TForm) procedure OnTlacitkoClick(Sender: TObject); procedure FormClose(Sender: TObject; var CloseAction: TCloseAction); procedure FormCreate(Sender: TObject); tlac:TButton; private { private declarations } public { public declarations } end; var Form2: TForm2; implementation { TForm2 } procedure TForm2.OnTlacitkoClick(Sender: TObject); begin showmessage('helloworld'); end; procedure TForm2.FormCreate(Sender: TObject); var i,j:integer; begin tlac:=TButton.Create(Form2); tlac.OnClick:=OnTlacitkoClick; tlac.Parent:=Form2; tlac.Left:=100; tlac.Top:=100; end; initialization {$I unit2.lrs} end. but compiler says: unit2.pas(63,32) Error: Wrong number of parameters specified for call to "OnTlacitkoClick" in tlac.OnClick:=OnTlacitkoClick; expression. I have searched and think that this is legal expression in Delphi. I want simply to registrate OnTlacitkoClick as tlac.OnClick event,not to call this procedure. Is there somethink wrong with the code or must I do it different in Lazarus/Freepascal? Thanks.

  • How to create a registry key in 64bit view from a 32bit application, using native windows api.

    - by George Kas
    I'm kind of a noob when it comes to windows api. I try to create a registry key in the 64bit view of the registry, from a 32bit application using System::Call "${RegCreateKeyEx}(${HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE}, 'SOFTWARE\SecureW2\Methods\Default\Profiles\26\ConfigData', 0, 'REG_BINARY', 0x00000000L, 0x0100, NULL, .r5, .r6) .r3" (it's nsis scripting), but it doesn't seem to work.

  • How to calculate the length of a Path2D in Java?

    - by Sanoj
    I have some paths represented by Path2D. The Path consist of multiple CubicCurve2D or Line2D segments that are connected to each other. I would like to calculate or get the length from the start to the end of a Path. How can I calculate it or get it? Is it possible? I have checked the API documentation, but couldn't find any useful methods.

  • Problem with Spring @Configuration class

    - by easyrider
    Hi, i use class with @Configuration annotation to configure my spring application: @Configuration public class SpringConfiguration { @Value("${driver}") String driver; @Value("${url}") String url; @Value("${minIdle}") private int minIdle; // snipp .. @Bean(destroyMethod = "close") public DataSource dataSource() { DataSource dataSource = new DataSource(); dataSource.setDriverClassName(driver); dataSource.setUrl(url); dataSource.setUsername(user); dataSource.setPassword(password); dataSource.setMinIdle(minIdle); return dataSource; } and properties file in CLASSPATH driver=org.postgresql.Driver url=jdbc:postgresql:servicerepodb minIdle=1 I would like to get my DataSource configured object in my DAO class: ApplicationContext ctx = new AnnotationConfigApplicationContext(SpringConfiguration.class); DataSource dataSource = ctx.getBean(DataSource.class); But i get the error: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'springConfiguration': Injection of autowired dependencies failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Could not autowire field: private int de.hska.repo.configuration.SpringConfiguration.minIdle; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.TypeMismatchException: Failed to convert value of type 'java.lang.String' to required type 'int'; nested exception is **java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "${minIdle}"** Caused by: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: **"${minIdle}"** at java.lang.NumberFormatException.forInputString(**Unknown Source**) at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Integer.valueOf(Unknown Source) It worked with String properties (driver, url), but ${minIdle} (of type int) can't be resolved! • Serializing Class Derived from Generic Collection yet Deserializing the Generic Collection

    - by Stacey
    I have a Repository Class with the following method... public T Single<T>(Predicate<T> expression) { using (var list = (Models.Collectable<T>)System.Xml.Serializer.Deserialize(typeof(Models.Collectable<T>), FileName)) { return list.Find(expression); } } Where Collectable is defined.. [Serializable] public class Collectable<T> : List<T>, IDisposable { public Collectable() { } public void Dispose() { } } And an Item that uses it is defined.. [Serializable] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlRoot("Titles")] public partial class Titles : Collectable<Title> { } The problem is when I call the method, it expects "Collectable" to be the XmlRoot, but the XmlRoot is "Titles" (all of object Title). I have several classes that are collected in .xml files like this, but it seems pointless to rewrite the basic methods for loading each up when the generic accessors do it - but how can I enforce the proper root name for each file without hard coding methods for each one? The [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlRoot] seems to be ignored. When called like this... var titles = Repository.List<Models.Title>(); I get the exception <Titlesxmlns=''> was not expected. The XML is formatted such as. .. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <Titles xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <Title> <Id>442daf7d-193c-4da8-be0b-417cec9dc1c5</Id> </Title> </Titles> Here is the deserialization code. public static T Deserialize<T>(String xmlString) { System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer XmlFormatSerializer = new System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer(typeof(T)); StreamReader XmlStringReader = new StreamReader(xmlString); //XmlTextReader XmlFormatReader = new XmlTextReader(XmlStringReader); try { return (T)XmlFormatSerializer.Deserialize(XmlStringReader); } catch (Exception e) { throw e; } finally { XmlStringReader.Close(); } }

  • Website Development moving to Image Hosting

    - by Drew
    We are moving over to using Akamai for all of our large static content so far just flash but are planning to include images, css, and js files in that list. I am curious what methods others employ to switch all of their local/relative paths to using an external hosting company. Also, how they continue to develop their site so that developers can make changes in development without it having to be pushed to their external hosting servers.

  • Running another process without GUI freezing

    - by Adam
    I'm having trouble getting my GUI to appear and not freeze while running (and waiting for) an outside process. In this case, drivers.exe is a very simply program where the user simply clicks "OK". So whenever I click OK, it exits. I am trying to simply make my status strip count numbers up (really fast) as drivers.exe is executing. But in practice, my GUI never appears at all until drivers.exe exits. private void run_drivers() { Console.WriteLine("Start Driver"); int driver_timeout_in_minutes = 20; System.Diagnostics.Process driverproc = System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(Application.StartupPath + "\\" + "drivers.exe"); driverproc.WaitForExit(driver_timeout_in_minutes * 1000 * 60); //uses milliseconds, we must convert } private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { ThreadStart worker = new ThreadStart(run_drivers); Console.WriteLine("Main - Creating worker thread"); toolStripStatusLabel1.Text = "hi"; Thread t = new Thread(worker); t.IsBackground = true; t.Start(); Console.WriteLine("Main - Have requested the start of worker thread"); int i = 0; while (t.IsAlive) { i++; toolStripStatusLabel1.Text = i.ToString(); } Console.WriteLine("Dead"); }

  • Threadsafe binding with DispatcherObject.CheckAccess()

    - by maffe
    Hi, according to this, I can achieve threadsafety with large overhead. I wrote the following class and use it. It works fine. public abstract class BindingBase : DispatcherObject, INotifyPropertyChanged, INotifyPropertyChanging { private string _displayName; private const string NameDisplayName = "DisplayName"; /// /// The display name for the gui element which bound this instance. It can be used for localization. /// public string DisplayName { get { return _displayName; } set { NotifyPropertyChanging(NameDisplayName); _displayName = value; NotifyPropertyChanged(NameDisplayName); } } protected BindingBase() {} protected BindingBase(string displayName) { DisplayName = displayName; } public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; public event PropertyChangingEventHandler PropertyChanging; protected void NotifyPropertyChanged(string name) { if (PropertyChanged == null) return; if (CheckAccess()) PropertyChanged.Invoke(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(name)); else Dispatcher.BeginInvoke(DispatcherPriority.Normal, (Action) (() = NotifyPropertyChanged(name))); } protected void NotifyPropertyChanging(string name) { if (PropertyChanging == null) return; if (CheckAccess()) PropertyChanging.Invoke(this, new PropertyChangingEventArgs(name)); else Dispatcher.BeginInvoke(DispatcherPriority.Normal, (Action) (() = NotifyPropertyChanging(name))); } } So is there a reason, why I've never found something like that? Are there any issues I should be aware off? Regards

  • Odd ActiveRecord model dynamic initialization bug in production

    - by qfinder
    I've got an ActiveRecord (2.3.5) model that occasionally exhibits incorrect behavior that appears to be related to a problem in its dynamic initialization. Here's the code: class Widget < ActiveRecord::Base extend ActiveSupport::Memoizable serialize :settings VALID_SETTINGS = %w(show_on_sale show_upcoming show_current show_past) VALID_SETTINGS.each do |setting| class_eval %{ def #{setting}=(val); self.settings[:#{setting}] = (val == "1"); end def #{setting}; self.settings[:#{setting}]; end } end def initialize_settings self.settings ||= { :show_on_sale => true, :show_upcoming => true } end after_initialize :initialize_settings # All the other stuff the model does end The idea was to use a single record field (settings) to persist a bunch of configuration data for this object, but allow all the settings to seamlessly work with form helpers and the like. (Why this approach makes sense here is a little out of scope, but let's assume that it does.) Net-net, Widget should end up with instance methods (eg #show_on_sale= #show_on_sale) for all the entires in the VALID_SETTINGS array. Any default values should be specified in initialize_settings. And indeed this works, mostly. In dev and staging, no problems at all. But in production, the app sometimes ends up in a state where a) any writes to the dynamically generated setters fail and b) none of the default values appear to be set - although my leading theory is that the dynamically generated reader methods are just broken. The code, db, and environment is otherwise identical between the three. A typical error message / backtrace on the fail looks like: IndexError: index 141145 out of string (eval):2:in []=' (eval):2:inshow_on_sale=' [GEM_ROOT]/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/base.rb:2746:in send' [GEM_ROOT]/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/base.rb:2746:inattributes=' [GEM_ROOT]/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/base.rb:2742:in each' [GEM_ROOT]/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/base.rb:2742:inattributes=' [GEM_ROOT]/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/base.rb:2634:in `update_attributes!' ...(then controller and all the way down) Ideas or theories as to what might be going on? My leading theory is that something is going wrong in instance initialization wherein the class instance variable settings is ending up as a string rather than a hash. This explains both the above setter failure (:show_on_sale is being used to index into the string) and the fact that getters don't work (an out of bounds [] call on a string just returns nil). But then how and why might settings occasionally end up as a string rather than hash?

  • Maintain one to one mapping between objects

    - by Rohan West
    Hi there, i have the following two classes that provide a one to one mapping between each other. How do i handle null values, when i run the second test i get a stackoverflow exception. How can i stop this recursive cycle? Thanks [TestMethod] public void SetY() { var x = new X(); var y = new Y(); x.Y = y; Assert.AreSame(x.Y, y); Assert.AreSame(y.X, x); } [TestMethod] public void SetYToNull() { var x = new X(); var y = new Y(); x.Y = y; y.X = null; Assert.IsNull(x.Y); Assert.IsNull(y.X); } public class X { private Y _y; public Y Y { get { return _y; } set { if(_y != value) { if(_y != null) { _y.X = null; } _y = value; if(_y != null) { _y.X = this; } } } } } public class Y { private X _x; public X X { get { return _x; } set { if (_x != value) { if (_x != null) { _x.Y = null; } _x = value; if (_x != null) { _x.Y = this; } } } } }

  • C# trying to capture the KeyDown event on a form

    - by Patrick
    Hello! I am creating a small game, the game is printed onto a panel on a windows form. Now i want to capture the keydown event to see if its the arrow keys that has been pressed, the problem however is that i can't seem to capture it. Let me explain, on the form i have 4 buttons and various other controls and if the user for instance press one of the buttons (to trigger a game event) then the button has focus and i can't capture the movements with the arrow keys. I tried something like private void KeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.KeyCode == Keys.Left) { game.MovePlayer(DonutWarsLibrary.GameObjects.Direction.E); game.DrawObjects(panel1.CreateGraphics()); } else if (e.KeyCode == Keys.Right) { game.MovePlayer(DonutWarsLibrary.GameObjects.Direction.W); game.DrawObjects(panel1.CreateGraphics()); } else if (e.KeyCode == Keys.Up) { game.MovePlayer(DonutWarsLibrary.GameObjects.Direction.N); game.DrawObjects(panel1.CreateGraphics()); } else if (e.KeyCode == Keys.Down) { game.MovePlayer(DonutWarsLibrary.GameObjects.Direction.S); game.DrawObjects(panel1.CreateGraphics()); } } and then when the form key down event was pressed, i used this private void MainForm_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { KeyDown(e); } I also added keydown for the buttons and the various other controls on the windows form, but i am not getting any response back. I have setup a breakpoint inside the function to see if it's being called, but that breakpoint never triggers? Any ideas? The most optimal was to have a general KeyDown event that triggers (regardless of what control that currently has focus) and then calls the KeyDown method.

  • How to remove all ListBox items?

    - by Nano HE
    Hi, I created two RadioButton (Weight and Height). I will do switch between the two categories. But the they share the same ListBox Controllers (listBox1 and listBox2). Is there any good method to clear all the ListBox items simpler? I didn't find the removeAll() for ListBox. I don't like my complex multi-lines style which I posted here. private void Weight_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { // switch between the radioButton "Weith" and "Height" // Clear all the items first listBox1.Items.Remove("foot"); listBox1.Items.Remove("inch"); listBox1.Items.Remove("meter"); listBox2.Items.Remove("foot"); listBox2.Items.Remove("inch"); listBox2.Items.Remove("meter"); // Add source units items for listBox1 listBox1.Items.Add("kilogram"); listBox1.Items.Add("pound"); // Add target units items for listBox2 listBox2.Items.Add("kilogram"); listBox2.Items.Add("pound"); } private void Height_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { // switch between the radioButton "Weith" and "Height" // Clear all the items first listBox1.Items.Remove("kilogram"); listBox1.Items.Remove("pound"); listBox2.Items.Remove("kilogram"); listBox2.Items.Remove("pound"); // Add source units items for listBox1 listBox1.Items.Add("foot"); listBox1.Items.Add("inch"); listBox1.Items.Add("meter"); // Add target units items for listBox2 listBox2.Items.Add("foot"); listBox2.Items.Add("inch"); listBox2.Items.Add("meter"); }

  • Hibernate - on the stack or on the heap?

    - by Stephano
    As a Java programmer, you usually keep two truths in your pocket: Instance variables and Objects lie on Heap. Local variables and methods lie on the Stack. Now that I use Hibernate in just about everything, I realize I'm not as sure of myself. Are there some good rules of thumb for using hibernate and knowing where your memory lives?

  • Normalizing chains of .Skip() and .Take() calls

    - by dtb
    I'm trying to normalize arbitrary chains of .Skip() and .Take() calls to a single .Skip() call followed by an optional single .Take() call. Here are some examples of expected results, but I'm not sure if these are correct: .Skip(5) => .Skip(5) .Take(7) => .Skip(0).Take(7) .Skip(5).Skip(7) => .Skip(12) .Skip(5).Take(7) => .Skip(5).Take(7) .Take(7).Skip(5) => .Skip(5).Take(2) .Take(5).Take(7) => .Skip(0).Take(5) .Skip(5).Skip(7).Skip(11) => .Skip(23) .Skip(5).Skip(7).Take(11) => .Skip(12).Take(11) .Skip(5).Take(7).Skip(3) => .Skip(8).Take(4) .Skip(5).Take(7).Take(3) => .Skip(5).Take(4) .Take(11).Skip(5).Skip(3) => .Skip(8).Take(3) .Take(11).Skip(5).Take(7) => .Skip(5).Take(6) .Take(11).Take(5).Skip(3) => .Skip(3).Take(2) .Take(11).Take(5).Take(3) => .Skip(0).Take(3) Can anyone confirm these are the correct results to be expected? Here is the basic algorithm that I derived from the examples: class Foo { private int skip; private int? take; public Foo Skip(int value) { if (value < 0) value = 0; this.skip += value; if (this.take.HasValue) this.take -= value; return this; } public Foo Take(int value) { if (value < 0) value = 0; if (!this.take.HasValue || value < this.take) this.take = value; return this; } } Any idea how I can confirm if this is the correct algorithm?

  • object array mobile development

    - by mixm
    Im currently creating a tile-based game for android. Using java via dalvik JVM. im fretting over a decision to represent objects in a particular map. should i use an id based map (2 dimensional integer array) and place game logic in a separate function in the game engine, or create an object array (2 dimensional array of game objects) and store game logic within the class methods. i am thinking about the cost of object creation and garbage collection vs extensibility.

  • Control parent must be X

    - by Shawn Mclean
    In silverlight, how do I create a usercontrol whose parent must be of a specific control? Eg. I create control Foo, Foo can only be a child of control FooParent. If in blend, they drag it to inside anything except for a FooParent control, it throws error. Foo should then be able to access properties and public methods of FooParent. Is there an official way to accomplish this?

  • Why can't I get a TRUE return in this prepared statement?
