• installing opencv for python issues

  I'm running OS X Leopard. I followed this site to install it. Trying to run any demo script, I now get "No module named opencv.cv", which is obviously stopping me from doing any programming.   As asked and answered in HERE, I need to replace '[' with '[[]', and ']' with '[]]'. I tried to use s.replace(), but as it's not in place change, I ran as follows to get a wrong anwser. path1 = "/Users/smcho/Desktop/bracket/[10,20]" path2 = path1.replace('[','[[]') path3 = path2.replace(']','[]]') pathName = os.path.join(path3, "*.txt") print pathName -- /Users/smcho/Desktop/bracket/[[[]]10,20[]]/*.txt How can I do the multiple replace in python? • Runtime exception when creating Bundle in JUnit test

  I'm testing some Java code that uses an android Bundle, and am getting a runtime exception whenever I create a Bundle in the unit test. The error I'm getting is java.lang.runtimeException at android.os.Bundle when I create the Bundle. It is running with the android SDK in the run configuration. Has anyone run into this problem before? Thanks!

  Coming from a .NET background I'm use to reusing string variables for storage, so is the code below likely to cause a memory leak? The code is targeting OS X on the iphone/itouch so no automatic GC. -(NSString*) stringExample { NSString *result = @"example"; result = [result stringByAppendingString:@" test"]; // where does "example" go? return result; } What confuses me is an NSStrings are immutable, but you can reuse an 'immutable' variable with no problem.

  I often see __WIN32, WIN32 or __WIN32__. I assume that this depends on the used preprocessor (either one from visual studio, or gcc etc). Do I now have to check first for os and then for the used compiler? We are using here G++ 4.4.x, Visual Studio 2008 and Xcode (which I assume is a gcc again) and ATM we are using just __WIN32__, __APPLE__ and __LINUX__.

  What kind of Kernel error can cause the cpu to go into a shut down state? I'm doing a homework assignment in OS, and we did changes in sched.c (adding a new scheduling policy, which involved ading another prio_array to the queue and switching between them when needed). Processes using this policy cause the cpu to enter a shut down state when they finish. Any suggestions where to look?

  I was wondering if it's possible to have a java package setup using a different subversion repository than the rest. Ideally, I would probably go with a different library project, but in the case of BlackBerry, the 3rd party library linking does not work well, so I would like to just separate my UI package into a different repository than the rest so that I can control the UI better for different OS versions, but leave all the other packages the same. Is this possible?

• Eclipse JFace TreeViewer level auto expansion doesn't work

  According to the Eclipse documentation TreeViewer.setAutoExpandLevel(3) means that top-level elements are expanded, and their children, but not grandchildren. I used that in my code, but after setting the input the tree is not auto-expanded, neither on OS X nor on Linux. Expanding the tree manually (via mouse) works flawlessly. Am I missing anything?
