• Tabbed application troubles in xcode

  I am working with my first tabbed application in xcode. I am just testing with some stuff since I'm relatively new to programming. I am just using the 2 views already put into the template. I am putting a slider into the first view and am going to attach it to a text box with numbers. But that isn't the problem! This is probably really stupid and simple, but when i run the application just to see the stuff on the simulator, it is just showing a black screen. NO CLUE WHY! But its killing me and would love some help!

• What is the recommended way to split messages in send pipelines?

  I need to split a bizTalk message in the send pipeline. This is easy with disassemblers in receive pipelines, but doesn't work in send pipelines (makes sense). So what is the recommended way to do it? The only easy way to do it is to write the outbound message to file, then reprocess it using a receive pipeline with a disassembler, and then send the generated messages through a outbound pipeline. Honestly, I don't need the additional roundtrip through the message box, but I don't want to create a custom send adapter. Any other suggestions? Any easy way to save messages with multiple parts using the ootb file adapter?

Say I'm planning to build a web application and some of the functional requirements include (apart from the usual hard hitting security reqs), - Need to have users sign up for a new account profile - Authenticate user using the native app authentication / Facebook or Google or Yahoo or OpenId login - Allow lost password retrieval - Session handling needs Is there an out of the box frameworks (Drupal, Liferay??) that I can use to wrap my application which can be a bunch of JSP's or HTML's with JS? I know I'm asking a very simple and maybe a naive question. But this is a topic every web developer guru will go thru. Any help, advise and pointers much appreciated.

• A window that behaves both modally and non-modally

  I want to create a WPF window that behaves as a modal dialogue box while at the same time facilitating selected operations on certain other windows of the same application. An example of this behaviour can be seen in Adobe Photoshop, which offers several dialogues that allow the user to use an eyedropper tool to make selections from an image while disabling virtually all other application features. I'm guessing that the way forward is to create a non-modal, always-on-top dialogue and programmatically disable those application features that are not applicable to the dialogue. Is there an easy way to achieve this in WPF? Or perhaps there's a design pattern I could adopt.

• Cannot debug tests using Resharper

  Hi, I'm not able to debug my tests using Resharper-Debug option in my project. I have seen this issue raised by lots of people, but has't come across a solid suggestion which solves my issue. The strange thing is that, if I create a sample project and write a simple unit test, I'm able to debug it without any issues.However when I try to do this in my current project, it simply throws a dialog box saying "Cannot Launch Debugger".I have checked this with my peers, and they does't face this issue :( Also I don't have any issues while running the test. • Visual Studio 2010 Not Recognizing Unit Test

  In an existing solution I added a new Test Project. In my Test Project .cs file I have a class decorated with the [TestClass] attribute and a method decorated with the [TestMethod] attribute. I have verified that in Configuration Manager the build check box is checked for the Test Project (as my google search has revealed was the problem for others with this issue). I have set Test Project as my start up project for the solution. When I try to start the test I get "Can not start test project because the project does not contain any tests". I am really new to unit testing. What am I missing?

• Overlapping elements stop overlapping in IE7 on class change

  On this page http://zenchan.com/program/ When I rollover the right box 2nd from the top suddenly the overlapping (negative margin disappears). What's happening is that a 'hover' class is being added to shift the background sprite. The two yellow boxes are debugging: if the hover class is put their in advance there is no problem. So fundamentally the CSS is not a problem for IE7 but adding the class is. Any ideas what's causing this. I've tried adding haslayout to various elements but to little effect.

• Debugging compiled .NET 2.0 application

  I don't know if I'll pass all the necessary information here, but I've only been asked to post this question here and I'm not entirely onto the matter. There is a .NET Framework 2.0 application compiled in the Debug mode with the parameter jitDebugging set to true in app.config <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" /> After any crash we get the dialog box allowing us to send a report or to debug the program. When we choose to debug and select proper VS, the IDE starts but with the announcement: No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed. and Disassembly cannot be displayed in run mode. Is there any possiblity to see the code or the spot where the crash has occured?

Is there a preferred way to handle radio button highlighting across multiple browsers?   I've downloaded the RAPID library and tried to compile it on Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. However, I'm getting the following compiler error: C4430 missing type specifier - int assumed. • Interacts with dialog/whiptail on early boot rcX.d stage?

  Hi buddies, I'm developing on Ubuntu based, actually I got one script in-charged on GUI(console) setup. It runs before another scripts (rcX.d) start. Currently, I installed this script on rc2.d and start earlier than other ones. But when run on real machine, I can't input any keystroke on "dialog --inputbox" or whiptail through shell script. Additionally, It runs well on my Virtual Machine (Virtual Box and Vmware), that's so strange! So, does anybody give some help or point me any clues for overcome this ? Thanks

• Take input through Buttons in java

  I understand that the title might not be descriptive enough, but I'm making a magic square game in Java and basically, I'm trying to replicate user input as found in the sudoku game here: http://www.websudoku.com/. What I have is a n x n grid of Buttons (not JButton) as the board and what I want the user to be able to do is when the user clicks on one of the buttons, similar to the game above, it allows the user to type in his guess in the button itself instead of popping up a dialog box with an input field of some sort. I don't know where to start, I am a beginner in Java (not very beginner, but my knowledge with the various Java APIs is very limited), so I'm trying to find out if this would be possible and if it is, how would I go about doing it? • Dynamically add rows to listbox

  I have a list box that displays information off of a column of a dataset. I would like the number of rows displayed to be all the rows that are in the dataset (the number of datasets in the rows vary). I'm figuring it has something to do with ListBox.Rows = Dataset.Tables[0].Rows.Count; But it seems to just always default to 4 even when it is only 2.   Hi guys I have aproblem with rich text box string color: I have the richtexbox that user type a message in it. I mark up each word that exist in my dictionary. • How to find root cause for "too many connections" error in MySQL/PHP

  I'm running a web service which runs algorithms that serve millions of calls daily and run some background processing as well. Every now and than I see "Too many connections" error in attempts to connect to the MySQL box" for a few seconds. However this is not necessarily attributed to high traffic times or anything I can put my finger on. I want to find the bottleneck causing it. Other than in the specific times this happens the server isn't too loaded in terms of CPU and Memory, and has 2-3 connections (threads) open and everything works smoothly. (I use Zabbix for monitoring) Any creative ideas on how to trace it?

  I want to get Default Windows Forms Unhandled-Exception Dialog whenever my C# application encounters U-E. In vs 2005 when I turn off jit Debugging in app.conf like this: <configuration> <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="false" /> <configuration> the application behaves correctly and shows Windows Forms U-E default dialog, with Continue, Quit, call stack and all. However in vs 2008, on the same machine or different, even though I diable jit I still get Default .NET Unhandled-Exception Dialog, with Debug, Send Report and Don't Send buttons. How can I make my vs 2008 app act like the one I make in vs 2005, to show Windows Forms U-E dialog box? Please do not recommend to use AppDomain.CurrentDomain.UnhandledException += new UnhandledExceptionEventHandler(CurrentDomain_UnhandledException); just because I don't use custom handler in my vs 2005 project, why would I use in vs 2008? I want to let this job do CLR. Any help is appreciated

• Does Visual Studio 2010 on x64 crash often? Or is it just on my PC?

  MY VS2010 crashes dozens of times a day. Compare that to 2008 and 2005 which were rock solid. Is 2010 known to be susceptible to crashing? Or could it be my environment? I'm using x64 as a dev box for the first time. The only plugin I has so far is Ankh. It crashes when doing different things. One I've noticed so far that always happens is if I press the key sequence alt-f-s-up (or any cursor key) it will crash every time.

• Commenting system for CakePHP blog tutorial

  I'm building off the CakePHP tutorial for the blog engine by adding comments to each post. I am able to add comments by selecting the post that it should be attached to, via a select box. I would like to be able to click an "Add Comment" link within the post and have the association to the post formed programatically. I am unsure how I can pass the post_id to the add method within my comments_controller. The body of my add method is the auto-generated scaffold code. Is it as easy as adding a $postId argument to the add method and write this to the post_id in my comments model? This doesn't feel right though, since I would expect add to be called when my submit button is click on my comments add view. Thanks all.
