  • Listview icons show up blurry (C#)

    I'm attempting to display a "LargeIcon" view in a listview control, however the images I specify are blurry. This is what I have so far: The .png files are 48x48 and that's what I have it set to display at in the ImageList properties. There's one thing that I've noticed (which is probably the cause) but I don't know how to change it. Inside the "Images Collection Editor" where you choose what images you want for the ImageList control, it looks like it's setting the wrong size for each image. As you can see the "PhysicalDimension" and the "Size" is set to 16x16 and not abled to be manipulated. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks!

  • What's the best way to implement one-dimensional collision detection?

    I'm writing a piece of simulation software, and need an efficient way to test for collisions along a line. The simulation is of a train crossing several switches on a track. When a wheel comes within N inches of the switch, the switch turns on, then turns off when the wheel leaves. Since all wheels are the same size, and all switches are the same size, I can represent them as a single coordinate X along the track. Switch distances and wheel distances don't change in relation to each other, once set. This is a fairly trivial problem when done through brute force by placing the X coordinates in lists, and traversing them, but I need a way to do so efficiently, because it needs to be extremely accurate, even when the train is moving at high speeds. There's a ton of tutorials on 2D collision detection, but I'm not sure the best way to go about this unique 1D scenario.

  • TTPhotoViewController: How to show small images

    Hi, I posted this question on Three20 google group but did not get any response. So I thought I try this forum. I am using TTPhotoViewController to display photos. I am following sample code given in Three20 sample project: TTCatalog/PhotoTest1Controller.m. In my case some of the images are less than (320,480). The problem which I am facing is that when my image is 200*300 then TTPhotoViewController re-sizes it to full screen on load which distorts the image. I was wondering if there is a way to tell TTPhotoViewController to display image in its actual size and not to resize it. The only thing which I have changed is viewDidLoad function in PhotoTest1Controller.m.   • GitHub OS project how to have a good version and a work in progress version

    I have started my own OS application, I am hosting it on GitHub. My problem is that I push changes to the repository from more than one location so sometimes I want to work on it and sometimes I can't always finish something in time but I would still like to push it anyway so I can fetch it later from my other location. I'd like to be able to somehow have a stable version and have the master branch be a 'work in progress'. How do I do this? Is there some button I can push that will take the code from my master branch and make it into a zip file in my downloads tab and call it a version or should I do this by hand? Would it be better to have the master branch be nice and neat and have a separate branch to play with and then merge the two when the time is right? Would this not cause more problems in the merging phase?

    I am working on an enterprise level product that is designed around SQL Express Database ( views,concurrent users,stored procedures,case,IF).Though we dont use any SQL Server advanced features, if the database size of 4Gb in express ends up being a limitation customers can move to advanced versions of SQL Server. However my problem is, SQL Express deployment is not easy and the installer size is huge. This is a major drawback for someone looking to try our product.You dont want end users to not buy a product becos the download is huge. Does anyone have any recommendations of a database that has a smaller footprint but all the features of Express and which can be migrated to express?

  • Is there a database with git-like qualities?

    I'm looking for a database where multiple users can contribute and commit new data; other users can then pull that data into their own database repository, all in a git-like manner. A transcriptional database, if you like; does such a thing exist? My current thinking is to dump the database to a single file as SQL, but that could well get unwieldy once it is of any size. Another option is to dump the database and use the filesystem, but again it gets unwieldy once of any size.

    I need a script that can run and pull information from any drive on a Windows operating system (Windows Server 2003), listing all files and folders which contain the following fields: The server is quite big and is within our domain. The required information is: Full file path (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\testPage.doc) File type (e.g. word document, spreadsheet, database etc) Size When Created When last modified When last accessed Also the script will need to convert that data to a CSV file, which later on I can modify and process in Excel. I can imagine that this data will be huge but I still need it. I am logged in as an administrator on the server and the script will need to also process protected files. As in previous posts I have read that the script will stop if such files are processed. I need to make sure that not a single file is skipped. Please note I have asked this question before but still have not got a working script.   • grouping objects to achieve a similar mean property for all groups

    I have a collection of objects, each of which has a numerical 'weight'. I would like to create groups of these objects such that each group has approximately the same arithmetic mean of object weights. The groups won't necessarily have the same number of members, but the size of groups will be within one of each other. In terms of numbers, there will be between 50 and 100 objects and the maximum group size will be about 5. Is this a well-known type of problem? It seems a bit like a knapsack or partition problem. Are efficient algorithms known to solve it? As a first step, I created a python script that achieves very crude equivalence of mean weights by sorting the objects by weight, subgrouping these objects, and then distributing a member of each subgroup to one of the final groups. I am comfortable programming in python, so if existing packages or modules exist to achieve part of this functionality, I'd appreciate hearing about them. Thank you for your help and suggestions.

Which method signature would you prefer and why? Bitmap DoPrintScreen(int x, int y, int width, int height); Bitmap DoPrintScreen(Rectangle rect); Bitmap DoPrintScreen(Point point, Size size); Other Why? I keep seeing myself repeatedly implementing both 1) and 2) (redirecting one of them to the other) but I end up usually just using one of them, so there really is no point in having both. I can't decide which would be better. Maybe I should use the signature that looks the most with the method I'll be calling to make the printscreen?

If I do "objVector.clear()", it removes all 100 objects and I would have a vector with a size of 0. I need it to be a size of 100 at the start of every loop.

  • Reconstructing simple 3d enviroment(room) from photo

    I have photo of a room with three walls and floor/ceiling or both. I am trying to reconstruct this room in 3d asking user for minimal input. Right now I use 8 points defined by user, angles of left and right wall(they can be quite different from 90) and one size "InLeftBottom-InRightBottom"(I need to have real size of this room for later use). I have no info about user's camera(I can read EXIF to get FOV and use constant height but this can be only used as additional info). Is this possible to ask user for less info? Maybe it's possible to get wall angles without user interaction? Or maybe I am completly wrong and should use different approach?
