  • Maven webapp with maven-eclipse-plugin doesn't generates <dependent-module>

    I use the eclipse:eclipse goal to generate an Eclipse Project environment. The deployment works fine. The goal creates the var classpath entries for all needed dependencies. With m2eclipse there was the Maven Container which defines an export folder which was WEB-INF/lib for me. But i don't want to rely on m2eclipse so i don't use it anymore. the class path entries which are generated by eclipse:eclipse goal don't have such a export folder. While booting the servlet container with WTP it publishes all resources and classes except the libraries to the context. Whats missing to publish the needed libs, or isn't that possible without m2eclipse integration?   • little oh notation as the limit of n goes to infinity

    Hi all, I'm just trying to understand how in little o notation this is true: f(n)/g(n) as n goes to infinity = infinity? Can someone explain that to me? I do get the idea that f(n) = o(g(n)) means that f(n) grows no faster then cg(n) for all constants c 0. I just don't get the bit in bold above.

  • Why is the volatile qualifier used through out std::atomic?

    From what I've read from Herb Sutter and others you would think that volatile and concurrent programming were completely orthogonal concepts, at least as far as C/C++ are concerned. However, in GCC c++0x extension all of std::atomic's member functions have the volatile qualifier. The same is true in Anthony Williams's implementation of std::atomic. So what's deal, do my atomic<> variables need be volatile or not?

    I have a defect assigned to me which states that columns are difficult to resize on a grid. this appears to be true, the mouseover which triggers the col-resize cursor display is quite tiny. Is there a way to increase the "hot area" between colums in order to make the colum resize function more user friendly ?

    On MOSS2007, I have a webpart that display the content of a xml feed. I use a xslt with parameters for transforamtions. There is a situation when I receive a 401 Authorisation exception. I realize that this happen when a document() function from my xslt try to open an external xml. If I try to open this xml in browser all work ok. I provided my admin credentials to the web part and to the XmlSecureResolver. Same problem. The webpart is on server1 and the xml feed and external xml required by xslt is on server2.   • In Jetty, can NCSARequestLog be configured to auto-detect the time zone?

    It looks as though in 2003 or so NCSARequestLog would pick up the system time zone using TimeZone.getDefault().getID(), but in more recent versions it seems as though it's hard-coded to GMT, unless you override it in jetty.xml or programmatically. If true, this kind of annoying, since it means if you don't want GMT logging you have to edit jetty.xml for every installation (not to mention twice a year for daylight saving time). Is there a workaround that will let Jetty pick the time zone up from the system?

It's obvious that generics and wildcards are meant to be able to handle such things easily, but I'm getting all tangled up. It would also be nice to have an analogous method to check if the list is in reverse order.

This is my first time doing JSON but it's easy to understand because of its simplicity. Anyone have any ideas on why I always receive code 400? update: I've tested the google server example classes provided with gcm so the problem MUST be with my code.
