• Printing pdf without opening

  Hello there, I want to open a PDF-print dialog (not regular browser dialog) without visually opening the document so that I can print a pdf without having the header and footer information from a regular webpage print. I know this is possible, because I have seen it in the past on a postal service website for printing postage labels, but cannot remember where. As far as I know, printing it from an iframe doesnt work, as it only opens regular browser print dialog and gives me ugly page and url information: frames['name'].focus(); frames['name'].print(); Thank you for your time. • How do I convert PDF to HTML programmatically?

  Are there any classes, COM objects, command line utilities, or anything else that I can make an API for that can convert a PDF to an HTML document? Obviously the conversion might be a little rough since PDFs can contain a lot more than HTML can describe. I found a utility called pdftohtml on Source Forge, but quite honestly it does a horrible job with the conversion. I don't care if the software is free or commercial, but is there anything out there at all that I can incorporate with my own software to do this sort of conversion at least decently? I know Google's developed their own method of doing this, since you can click "View as HTML" on a PDF attached to an email through Gmail, but I was hoping there was something out available to the public. Remember, PDF to HTML. I'm NOT worried about HTML to PDF.

• SHAddToRecentDocs without a file?

  I was toying with an IRC client, integrating it with the windows 7 app bar. To get a "Frequent" or "Recent" items list one has to call SHAddToRecentDocs API. I want to add recent IRC channels visited to the Windows 7 Jumplist for the IRC application. Now, my problem is, IRC channels don't exist in the file system. And SHAddToRecentDocs seems to insist on getting some sort of file system object. Ive tried to work around it by creating a IShellItem pointing to my application, and giving it a command line to launch the channel. The shell is rebelling however, and thus far has not visibly added any of my "recent document" attempts to the Jumplist. Is there no way to do this without creating some kind of entirely unwanted filesystem object?

  My code is working fine in FireFox but my users are restricted to IE.   Hi I have an xml webservice which I'm fetching using PrototypeJS. The xml has the correct content type and is well-formed, and looks like this: <GetTokenResponse xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <GetTokenResult>F655100D64F098F0AC33AFF414A4A0D5</GetTokenResult> </GetTokenResponse> The AJAX request is completing successfully, and I can access the GetTokenResult node in both IE and FF but can only get the text content of the node in FF. My code is below: node = transport.responseXML.documentElement.getElementsByTagName('GetTokenResult')[0]; rawToken = (document.all) ? node.innerText : node.textContent; I've tried innerText and innerHTML, as well as children[0] and a few other chance guesses but IE returns 'undefined' when I access rawToken. • Mixing a4 and a3 in one Latex file

  Hello, I am finishing my thesis and have a large appendix. Some tables only look good, if first done on a3 and then (paper)printed on a4. Anyhow, working all the files seperalty is fine, but I struggle to compile all in one. I use the geometry package and start the document with: \usepackage[a4paper,left=30mm,right=20mm,top=20mm, bottom=20mm]{geometry} For the appendix, I want to include the table and use \newgeometry{a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm} However, the command is completely ignored and I can read "a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm" above the table. What did I miss? Is it even possible? If not, how do I get the numbers right, if I have to include it as a pdf (which works)? Thanks!

  Our current project uses an asmx service. We want to keep this service for now, but would like to add an additional wcf service for ajax calls. I followed a procedure i found online to set up the service and it works fine with javascript in aspx files within that particular project but i'm unsure how to reference it in javascript files in a different project (in the same solution). If someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.   My xml document reflects an Object. as referential Recursion is possible in objects and arrays. I need to reflect that in reproduced XML Structure too. Currently I am using Unique IDs to identify each node separately and a node like <recursion refer="IDREF"> and specifying the ID of the referenced Element. But in This way I need My Own Custom XPath resolver cause I want to let the users go deeper into the recursive node through the Identifying IDREF (Hope I am able to make you understand). So is there any better/liteweight solution ?? might be XPointer or XLink (I am not sure). Any help ??

I'm able to retreive the data from JSON files, I don't need help with tht. But I need help on sorting NSArrays I have no idea how I can do that based on a value inside the file, while not being pathetically slow. This is on the iPhone btw. In sum how do I customly reorder NSArrays.

  There is only one text field on a HTML form. Users input some text, press Enter, submit the form, and the form is reloaded. The main use is barcode reading. I use the following code to set the focus to the text field: <script language="javascript"> <!-- document.getElementById("#{id}").focus() //--> </script> It works most of the time (if nobody touches the screen/mouse/keyboard). However, when the user click somewhere outside the field within the browser window (the white empty space), the cursor is gone. One a single field HTML form, how can I prevent the cursor from getting lost? Or, how to re-focus the cursor inside the field after the cursor is lost? thx!

  We save our xml in a "text" field in the database. So first I check if it exist any xml, if not I create a new xdocument, fill it with the necessary xml. else i just add the new element.   Hi, I want to find out the zoom level of what is being displayed in a browser window based on the javascripts' window object properties (http://www.javascriptkit.com/jsref/window.shtml) to which I have access. I just can't seem to find the right mathematical formula for the zoom based on the inner width, page offset, etc. I found a solution, but that uses the document.body.getBoundingClientRect call which does not return anything in my case and for which I can't tell if there's a suitable replacement from the window properties. • Looking for the most painless non-RDBMS storage method in C#

  I'm writing a simple program that will run entirely client-side. (Desktop programming? do people still do that?) and I need a simple way to store trivial amounts of data in a structured form, but really don't see any need to use a database system. What's more, some of the data needs to be serialized and passed around to different users, like some kind of "file" or perhaps a "document". (has anyone ever done that before?) So, I've looked at using .Net DataSets, LINQ, direct XML manipulation, and they all seem like they would get the job done, but I would like to know before I dive into any of them if there's one method that is generally regarded as easier to code than others. As I said, the amount of data to be stored is trivial, even if one hundred people all used the same machine we're not talking about more than 10 MB, so performance is not as large a concern as is codeability/maintainability.   Hello all, I'm trying to write a simple plugin for the flash player flowplayer (documentation for writing a plugin for flowplayer can be found here). I'm new to flash and I think I'm having a problem connecting the .fla file to the .as file when compiling into a .swf. As it is, when I include the plugin, the player doesn't show up. I've set the .fla's document class to the .as file and added the .as file to the .fla's publishing classpath. The .as file can be found here and the .fla file can be found here Any ideas?
