• xsl key - multiple levels for an element

  My previous post was not very meaningful. reposting here. What i am looking for is the QueueManager element, under SORRegion name="default"(which is the parent), within inan.xml. I have used xsl key.   I have run into an interesting problem. I am currently developing php page and need to access a php variable within the javascript onload. $(document).ready(function() { var temp = <?php $page_id ?> } is this valid? I know that this might seem weird and not be allowed but I am developing a page that has two popup windows. The windows are created using the same view template and there is no way to distinguish between each other. If I stored a hidden value on the page with information unique to the page like so <input type="hidden" value="<?php $page_id ?> id="page_id" /> if there are two views open at the same time there is no way for me to get a unique page id like so var temp = $("#page_id").val(); Because there are two views witht he same input id that is not unique. Long story short is it valid to reference a php variable in the javascript.

• VSTS 2008 Load testing, Is it any good?

  I have already spent couple of weeks trying to use this tool to generate some webtest and load test. But every day it throws a weird problem for which I do not find anything in document. examples: Hidden variables (_lastfocus) not found in the context error. Today, all of sudden it is now refusing to run some of the webtest which are part of the test mix in my load test run (is working fine with another load test). Are enterprise level, expensive tools are only good? (like loadrunner, silkperformer etc).

  I made a figure within my latex document using the subfigure package, containing three subfigures. The part where the subfigures are now automatically labelled (a), (b), (c) needs to be uppercase, though. i.e. the result from the latex code in the finally rendered PDF is (a) img1 (b) img2 (c) img3 but it needs to be (A) img1 (B) img2 (C) img3 How can I set this?   I'm starting a project which I think will be particularly suited to MongoDB due to the speed and scalability it affords. The module I'm currently interested in is to do with real-time chat. If I was to do this in a traditional RDBMS I'd split it out into: Channel (A channel has many users) User (A user has one channel but many messages) Message (A message has a user) The the purpose of this use case, I'd like to assume that there will be typically 5 channels active at one time, each handling at most 5 messages per second. Specific queries that need to be fast: Fetch new messages (based on an bookmark, time stamp maybe, or an incrementing counter?) Post a message to a channel Verify that a user can post in a channel Bearing in mind that the document limit with MongoDB is 4mb, how would you go about designing the schema? What would yours look like? Are there any gotchas I should watch out for?

  I've been trying to select the User Defined Language programmatically unsuccessfully through various means, another problem is the files I need to apply the user defined language have no file extension, old DOS files; NPPM_SETCURRENTLANGTYPE (only enumerates built-in languages) Macros don't seem to sense changes with language selection, I was hoping to record a macro then trigger it with NPPExec. Notepad++ accepts only in-built languages for starting from the command line I can't select a UDL as the default language for a new document. ...and my attempts at overriding an in-built language seem to have failed. I've copied details from userDefinedLang.xml to langs.xml don't work. The highlighting doesn't change. Thanks for any help!!

Blackberry's "A70 – How to Deploy and Distribute Applications" document is kind of lacking. I guess I'm looking for answers for the following question (Specifically for Over-The-Air aka OTA): I'm building an app for OS 4.5 and up. Do I need to compile a separate COD/JAD for each version?   Anybody see what's wrong? Doesn't seem to do anything. If i replace $(this, '.inner').stop(true, false).fadeIn(250); with $(.fadeInOnHover .inner').stop(true, false).fadeIn(250); then all the .inner elements on the page will fade in (which isn't really what i want, as i have ~10 of them). I know it's possible to achieve what i want to do, but i don't know how in this case. This works, but I can't access this value on the page from a non-jQuery function?   I am working on an online portal, where researchers can upload their research papers. One requirement is, that all PDFs are stored in PDF/A-format. As I can't rely on the users to generate PDF/A conforming documents, I need a tool to check and convert standard PDFs into PDF/A format. What is the best tool you know of? Price Quality Speed Available APIs Open-source tools would be prefered, but a search revealed none. iText can create PDF/a, but converting isn't easy to do, as you have to read every page and copy it to a new document, losing all bookmarks and annotations in this process. (At least as far as I know, if you know of an easy solution, let me know). APIs should be available for either PHP, Java or a command-line-tool should be provided. Please do not list either GUI-only or Online-only solutions.

• Custom certificate as proof of transaction

  I'm developing a site where a user conducts a given transaction and once completed, the user is issued with a 'secure certificate'. The certificate serves as proof of the transaction and the user is able to upload the certificate at a later stage, to view the details of the transaction. At the moment I'm using a custom XML document with encrypted fields. It works perfect, but I would like a standardized approach, such as an X.509 certificate. I'm no encryption expert, but from what I gather, X.509 is more geared towards SSL issued by a CA. Is it possible to create your own valid valid CRT file? As a test, I created a CRT file with the example provided on WikiPedia. However, when I open the file in Windows I get this warning: Invalid Public Key Security Object File - This file is invalid as the following: Security Certificate. Not having much luck here, so time to ask the experts. What direction should I be heading in? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

• Javascript array of href's

  Hi, I am trying to create an array with different href's to then attach to 5 separate elements. This is my code: var link = new Array('link1', 'link2', 'link3', 'link4', 'link5'); $(document.createElement("li")) .attr('class',options.numericId + (i+1)) .html('<a rel='+ i +' href=\"page.php# + 'link'\">'+ '</a>') .appendTo($("."+ options.numericId)) As you can see I am trying to append these items from the array to the end of my page so each link will take the user to a different section of the page. But i have not been able to do this. Is there a way to to create elements with different links? I am new to javascript so I am sorry if this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If anyone is confused by what i am asking here I can try to clarify if I get some feedback. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, jason

• JavaScript: Change to Absolute Positioning

  I'm trying to center a page on any resolution while still being able to use absolute positioning to move pictures. I figure that the best way would be to have a table positioned relatively in the beginning in the center of the page, then change it to absolute positioning in the onload of the page. I think the correct line is: document.getElementById("Object").style.position = "absolute"; However, I put an alert box after it asking where the left side of the object is, I get undefined. But, if I directly assign it to a position (Object.style.left = 500) I will get that number. So I can assign it a value, meaning it is in absolute position, but I cannot pull a value out of that. Kind of confusing but hopefully it makes sense and someone knows what to do. Thanks.
