• CakePHP: shortcomings with indirectly associated models

  I'm having some issues with dealing with indirectly associated models in cakephp. My current model setup is as follows: Deliveries hasOne License License belongsTo Delivery License hasAndBelongsToMany Product (and vice-versa) License hasAndBelongsToMany ProductOption (and vice-versa) I'm trying to save information about ALL of these models inside ONE form. The shortcomings I'm running into are the following: The form helper only seems able to see the field type one level deep. saveAll() only seems able to save records one level deep (for multiple model forms). I'm searching everywhere for the solutions to these issues, but since I'm new to CakePHP, I'm not sure what the newest methods or "correct" methods are for dealing with these issues. • Assigning a group while adding user in django-admin

  In my application, I have models that have the Users model as a Foreign key, eg: class Doctor(models.Model): username=models.ForeignKey(User, unique=True) ... In the admin site, when adding a new Doctor, I have the option of adding a new User next to the username field. This is exactly what I want, but in the dialog that opens, it asks for a username and password for the new user; I would also like to be able to assign a group to this new user. • Webrat says it can't find some text, but the text is actually there

  I have a webpage that has a form button on it called "delete", and a cuke scenario that has the line: And I should see "delete" When I run the scenario, I get this error: expected the following element's content to include "delete" ...and it dumps the webrat page to stdout and the "delete" is, in fact, not there. So far so good. However, when I tell webrat to show me the page before the error happens: Then show me the page And I should see "delete" ...Safari fires up and shows me the page, and in Safari there's the "delete" button, totally there. Why is webrat not finding the form button? I've also had this same problem with form fields, such as text inputs that have a value in them when the page loads, but webrat says there's nothing there. Looking at it in Safari shows, again, that the field does have the right text in it. Is this a bug, or is webrat just not suitable for checking form elements? Is there a different way to do this?   I need a blob file field as part of a content type in plone. plone.app.blob's BlobField should provide this, but I can't find how to get a URL to download the file including the original filename (e.g. http://plone.site/plone/obj/orig-file-name.avi). Is there a way to do this using plone.app.blob? Alternately, there are a few pointers on the web pointing to plone.namedfile to do this. plone.namedfile seems to rely on z3c.blobfile. How does z3c.blobfile differ from plone.app.blob? Is one of these methods better than the other? vik

• Merge\Combine two datatables

  I'm trying to merge\combine two datatables. I've looked at various examples and answers but they seem to create duplicate rows or require indexes (merge on datatable etc) I can't do this via SQL as one source is from a linked Oracle server accessed via MSSQL and the other from a different MSSQL Server that does not have linked access. • Python Tkinter - Edit external object within event handler?

  Hey all, As the title says, I'm grabbing the cursor location within a motion triggered event handler in Tkinter. I'd like to update an existing label widget with the location, however I cannot for the life of me figure out how to edit the label's text field (or any external object for that matter) within the event handler. From what I understand, event is the only argument passed to the handler, which means I can't pass the label object. How do I access objects outside of the handler? Apologize for the noobish question as I'm a C programmer new to Python. Thanks!

• In C, is it possible do free only an array first ou last position?

  Hi there! I've an array, but I don't need its first (or last) position. So I point a new variable to the rest of the array, but I should free the array first/last position. For instance: p = read_csv_file(); q = p + 1; // I don't need the first CSV file field // Here I'd like to free only the first position of p return q; Otherwise I've to memcpy the array to other variable, excluding the first position, and then free the original array. Like this: p = read_csv_file(); q = (int*) malloc(sizeof(int) * (SOME_SIZE - 1)); memcpy(q, p+1, sizeof(int) * (SOME_SIZE - 1)); free(p); return q; But then I'll have the overhead of copying all the array. Is this possible to only free a single position of an array?

I want to fetch some records from database i.e. select * from tblDepartment where department_id in ( select department_id from tblMap where Guest_Id = @GuestId ) I have taken two DataTable. i.e. tblDepartment, tblMap Now I want to fetch this result and want to store it in third DataTable. How can I do this. • Slow SQL Sync with Microsoft Sync Framework on Mobile Client

  Hello, we are developing an application which uses MS Sync Framework to sync data between Windows CE 6.0 with SQL CE 3.5 SP1 Clients and an SQL 2008 Database. Our major problem is a slow sync time up to 1 minute for 15 tables which are totally empty. Here's a break down of our components: Server: Sql Server 2008 15 tables with activated change tracking WCF Service with endpoint for the mobile sync (uses Sync Framework 2.0) Client (Mobile) Windows CE 6.0 NET Application using Sync Framework for Devices (CTP 1) which starts the sync As I mentioned above, the sync takes up to 1 minute without any changes and empty tables. The mobile device is in its dock. This is a deal breaker for a production environment. Does anybody have any experience in this field? Is there a way to improve things? Thanks for any responses.

  Many people like to think of building software as constructing a building so we have terms like building blocks and architecture. However, lately I've been to a couple of talks and most people say this analogy is wrong especially around the idea of having a non-coding software architect in a project. In my experience, good software architects are those who also write code so they won't design things that only looks good on paper. I've worked with several Architecture Astronauts, who have either limited or outdated experience in programming. These architecture astronauts quite often missed out critical details in their design and cause more harm than good in a project. This makes me wonder what are the differences between constructing a software and a building? How come in the building industry they can have architects who probably never build a house in their life and purely handles design work but not in the software development field?

Now what I want to do is do some processing on the JSON objects given to the webservice and return a JSON array of the same type of objects(same field names and such) How would I do this easily? • Excel - Looping through data till it finds the right one

  I'm pulling data from one Excel table into another using an IF statement. I want it to check two fields and if it is a match I want it to print something and if it doesn't then I want it to continue searching. If there is no absolute match then leave the field blank. I believe I'm running into an syntax issue but after numerous iterations I can't get it to pull everything over. • Is there a super simple List / ListAdapter example out there for android

  I have a web service that returns a super simple list of objects MyObject[] data = webServiceCall(); MyObject has 1 field i want to display, "Name" (i.e. data[0].Name ) How can i turn this into an activity that lists just the name of these objects in a scrollable listActivity in android. I am getting really confused with Cursors and am not sure if I need Cursors and I"m not sure what kind of adapter to implement (baseAdapter, SimpleAdapter etc) So i guess i'm looking for three things, the activity , the adapter and the layout.xml Just trying to figure this android stuff out, definately a noob here

• How to pass an input value from a small form into a big form? (PHP, Javascript, URLs)

  I have a Wordpress website that needs to display a 3rd party newsletter signup form. This sign-up form has lots of fields and takes up its own full page. I want to display a simple "enter email address, hit submit" form at the top of every page. When the user hits submit, it should take them to the full form, where their email address is already pre-populated in the appropriate field. What's a good way to pass the input value from the short form to the long form? I'm inclined to use the URL somehow, but I've never approached it before. (My skills: expert XHTML/CSS. competent with WP theme hacking. comfortable enough with PHP and Javascript to move things around, but not enough to write them from scratch.) Thanks!

• Model Not Valid Even With No [Required] Attribute

  I have a model which is validating as False even though I have no validation rules attached to it what so ever. So this is my model; public class QuickQuote { public Enumerations.AUSTRALIA_STATES state { get; set; } public Enumerations.FAMILY_TYPE familyType { get; set; } public Enumerations.CoverLevel hospitalCover { get; set; } public Enumerations.CoverLevel extrasCover { get; set; } public Enumerations.YesNo pregnancy { get; set; } } And in my controller I have; [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Index(IndexFormViewModel fvm) { if (!ModelState.IsValid) return View(fvm); The problem is that unless I put a value into each field it's validating as false even though it shouldn't care. Can anyone see what the problem is here?

  Hi I'm developing a new site, and in here it's possible for the user to type in a price in a input-textfield. So what I need is some jQuery-code to transforn the typed in price. This means, that when a user types in "1000", the vissible text in the input field shall automatically be transformed to "1.000" - with a period. And if they type in "10000" it should be transformed to "10.000" etc. You can see a live example on this website I found: http://www.boligsiden.dk/ I know it's on danish, but on the frontpage under the map, there are to input fields. One of them is saying "Minimum kontaktpris". You can try to type in a number in here, and see the effect that I'm looking for. Does anybody know how I can achieve this? • insert a BLOB via a sql script ?

  Hi, I have an H2 database (http://www.h2database.com) and I'd like to insert a file into a BLOB field via a plain simple sql script (to populate a test database for instance). I know how to do that via the code but I cannot find how to do the sql script itself. I tried to pass the path , i.e. INSERT INTO mytable (id,name,file) VALUES(1,'file.xml',/my/local/path/file.xml); but this fails. Within the code (java for instance), it's easy to create a File object and pass that in, but directly from a sql script, I'm stuck... Any idea ? David

• How do I export a large table into 50 smaller csv files of 100,000 records each

  I am trying to export one field from a very large table - containing 5,000,000 records, for example - into a csv list - but not all together, rather, 100,000 records into each .csv file created - without duplication. How can I do this, please? I tried SELECT field_name FROM table_name WHERE certain_conditions_are_met INTO OUTFILE /tmp/name_of_export_file_for_first_100000_records.csv LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' LIMIT 0 , 100000 that gives the first 100000 records, but nothing I do has the other 4,900,000 records exported into 49 other files - and how do I specify the other 49 filenames? for example, I tried the following, but the SQL syntax is wrong: SELECT field_name FROM table_name WHERE certain_conditions_are_met INTO OUTFILE /home/user/Eddie/name_of_export_file_for_first_100000_records.csv LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' LIMIT 0 , 100000 INTO OUTFILE /home/user/Eddie/name_of_export_file_for_second_100000_records.csv LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' LIMIT 100001 , 200000 and that did not create the second file... what am I doing wrong, please, and is there a better way to do this? Should the LIMIT 0 , 100000 be put Before the first INTO OUTFILE statement, and then repeat the entire command from SELECT for the second 100,000 records, etc? Thanks for any help. Eddie

• FitNesse doesn't call setters in my fixture

  I have copied a trivial example from the FitNesse Two-Minute example: package com.mrijk; import fit.ColumnFixture; public class Foobar extends ColumnFixture { private double numerator; private double denominator; public void setNumerator(double numerator) {this.numerator = numerator;} public void setDenominator(double denominator) {this.denominator = denominator;} public double quotient() {return numerator/denominator;} } However all test fail with: "Could not find field: denominator.", so obviously the setDenominator is not found/used. When I make the the variables numerator and denominator public instead of private, the tests run successfully. I must be overlooking something, but can't see it yet. Anyone?

  Does the jQuery $.ajaxSetup method not respect the data field in the options hash when $.post or $.get is called? For example, I might have this code: $.ajaxSetup({ data: { persist: true } }); Then, to send a POST request, I would call this: $.post("/create/something", { name: "foo" }); I was expecting the actual POST data to look like this: { persist: true, name: "foo" } but the only data sent by $.post is { name: "foo" }. Is there any way to get the expected behavior? I'm using jQuery 1.4.1.

• store multiple id's from first aspx page to next aspx page

  i have my first aspx page that has data thatthe user fills in. it is in format of textbox's and at the end of it all the user clicks submit and all data goes in the database. In the database each record gets an ID field. Now when the users clicks submit and goes to the next page, i want the ID's (they could be 1 to 1000+) from the DB that he just inserted and have them available on the second page. how can i take all the id's from page 1 to page 2? can i do it in session? or something else. Please put some sample code so i can understand better.
