  I have a survey database with one column for each question and one row for each person who responds. Each question is answered with a value from 1 to 3. Id Quality? Speed? -- ------- ----- 1 3 1 2 2 1 3 2 3 4 3 2 Now, I need to display the results as one row per question, with a column for each response number, and the value in each column being the number of responses that used that answer. Finally, I need to calculate the total score, which is the number of 1's plus two times the number of 2's plus three times the number of threes.   First, I wanna compare between 2 tables tb_wrapper and tb_summary to get the data in the tb_wrapper that doesn't exist in the tb_summary then save in $link. If I don't get the same data, I want to print the result $link. When I don't get the not same data, I want it to go to another process. • Pass object from webserver to client

  I developed a C# web application that calls a web-service which returns a base64 encoded array (PDF file). I then convert that array into a UCOMIStream object (I know it is obsolete, but the DLL that I am using requires it as a parameter). I use the following code to do the conversion which works perfectly. I can pass this object to the DLL so that I can print the PDF. This works great on the Webserver, but the requirement is to print it locally. But what if the left outer join performs a join successfully, then finds that another criterion is not satisfied? Is there a way to get the query to return a row with T1 values and T2 values set to NULL? Here's the specific query, in which I'm trying to return a list of candidates, and the user's support for those candidates IF such support exists. SELECT c.id, c.name, s.support FROM candidates c LEFT JOIN support s on s.candidate_id = c.id WHERE c.office_id = 5059 AND c.election_id = 92 AND (s.user_id = 2 OR s.user_id IS NULL) --This line seems like the problem ORDER BY c.last_name, c.name The query joins the candidates and support table, but finds that it's a different user who supported this candidate (user_id=3, say). • int array doesnt get char values

  I am absolutely brand new at programming and im not sure how to explain what im doing here. The whole purpose of this piece is to enter values and then print them out in the same order. Now I wanna quit from entering values when pressing 'q' and so I have to scanf for chars but when I assign them back to the int array the values are not the same. • Selecting data from mysql table and related data from another to join them

  Ive looked at other questions and answers but still dont understand which brings me here. I have one data base two tables. lets say table1 and table2 from database. I'm looking to grab all the information from table1 and only one column from table2 that coincides with the correct row in table1. Example which I know is wrong: SELECT table1.*, table2.time_stamp FROM table1, table2 WHERE table1.ticket_id=$var AND table1.user_id = table2.user_id Basically select data from table1 then use a value from the selected table to grab the related data from table2 and join them to output them as one mysql_query. • FKs on all tables for status colunm

  I have a colunm "Status" in every table in my DB. The purpose of it is to show if the given row is in use or if it has been deactivated. So values can be (0=deactive and 1= active). Two ways I see this: I can have enums or I am thinking if it is better to keep this colunm as a FK which references the main system data dictionary table which has all the codes used on the system. (website) The benefit is every table, every row can then be centralized through this FK. So if i ever want to check all rows which are deactive on my system i can from this table as all th child tables will have like status = ID 233, where 233 = deactive in the data dictionary table. Any benefit or should i stick with the old way of enums?. Also I am thinking if i need one more status for deleted or is that same as deactivated?

  So, that's how works Interesting Tags: I add into them my interested tags like php, mysql, jquery and so on. Then, if any of questions has the same tags as mine it makes background orange. I understand how to use jquery to do that (there were related questions to that), but without mysql it can't be done. Now, here is a question. How is it done? I imagine like that: There is a row in mysql for every member, let's call it "interested_tags". After I write and submit my tag through input, it is being written in a row "interested_tags". Then, the main page has a query which shows all answers and it always checks answer's with mine tags with strpos like this if(strpos($question_tags, $my_tags) === true) {        //and here will be made background orange } Am I thinking right or is there any way to do it?

• Breaking up large DataGridView for printing

  Hey, I've got a single-row, 40 column-long DataGridView that i need to print. Since i can neither print it directly (because A4 sheets won't cut it ;)) nor adjust its width to the width of the page itself (because the headers look terrible), i wanted to break the DataGridView to 4 separate pieces and display 10 columns per row (imagine: column 1 to 10 in the first line, column 11 to 21 four or five lines below, etc...). Is there an easy way to do this? I was leaning towards a more manual approach (using fors), but i'd love to know if there's a more elegant way. Cheers

  Any time there is an update within my music community (song comment, artist update, new song added, yadda yadda yadda), a new row is inserted in my "updates" table. The row houses the artist id involved along with other information (what type of change, time and date, etc). My users have a "favorite artists" section where they can do just that -- mark artists as their favorites. As such, I'd like to create a new feature that shows the user the changes made to their various favorite artists. How should I be doing this efficiently? SELECT * FROM table_updates WHERE artist_id = 1 and artist_id = 500 and artist_id = 60032 Keep in mind, a user could have 43,000 of our artists marked as a favorite. Thoughts?
