• CSS working in IE, but not FF

• Help in optimizing a for loop in matlab

  I have a 1 by N double array consisting of 1 and 0. I would like to map all the 1 to symbol '-3' and '3' and all the 0 to symbol '-1' and '1' equally. Below is my code. As my array is approx 1 by 8 million, it is taking a very long time. How to speed things up? • Controlled hyperlink hijaxing

  I am working on a web application. I have a data grid with a 'commands' column that has hyperlinks for some common CRUD operations (Edit, Delete, etc). When a user clicks on say the Edit hyperlink, I retrieve the unique identifier for the data grid row and load a modal form dialog (i am using jQuery UI) so the user is able to edit the row data and subsequently close the modal form dialog at which point I refresh the page. Now, before the page is done refreshing, there's a chance that a user might click on the edit link again, and whenever that happens, 'hijaxing' fails. My question is how can i check that if a user clicks on a hyperlink and the page is refreshing, i delay until it is done refreshing, then i allow the 'hijax' to kick in.

  I have a list of posts and an edit link for each. When clicking edit it goes to a page where I can edit the specific post I clicked on. For this I will have to pull from the db the id of the post.   I am trying to write a PHP-MySQL database processor that is somewhat intelligent. When this processor decides it needs to make an update, I want to report if it was really successful or not. I thought I could use mysql_affected_rows... // Example: // After running query "UPDATE mytable SET name='Test' WHERE ID=1" $result = mysql_affected_rows(); if ($result >= 1) { /* Success */ } If, for example, there was no row with ID=1, then $result would be 0. However, it turns out that PHP's mysql_affected_rows is the actual affected rows, and may be still be 0 if the row exists but name was already "Test". (The PHP docs even say this is the case). If I run this in the command line, I get the following meta information about the query: Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.01 sec) Rows matched: 1 Changed: 0 Warnings: 0 Is there any way for me to get that "Rows matched" value in PHP instead of the affected rows?

  I have a table with 4 columns, and I need to check to see if a Column Pair exists before inserting a row into the database: INSERT INTO dbo.tblCallReport_Detail (fkCallReport, fkProductCategory, Discussion, Action) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?) The pair in question is fkCallReport and fkProductCategory. For example if the row trying to be inserted has fkCallReport = 3 and fkProductCategory = 5, and the database already has both of those values together, it should display an error and ask if they would like to combine the Disuccsion and Action with the current record. Keep in mind I'm doing this in VBA Access 2010 and am still very new.

• why does InnoDB keep on growing without for every update?

  I have a table which consists of heavy blobs, and I wanted to conduct some tests on it. I know deleted space is not reclaimed by innodb, so I decided to reuse existing records by updating its own values instead of createing new records. But I noticed, whether I delete and insert a new entry, or I do UPDATE on existing ROW, InnoDB keeps on growing. Assuming I have 100 Rows, each Storing 500KB of information, My InnoDB size is 10MB, now when I call UPDATE on all rows (no insert/ no delete), the innodb grows by ~8MB for every run I do. All I am doing is I am storing exactly 500KB of data in each row, with little modification, and size of blob is fixed. What can I do to prevent this? I know about optimize table, but I cant do it because on regular usage, the table is going to be 60-100GB big, and running optimize will just stall entire server.

  I have a page, lets call it SourceTypes.aspx, that has a a GridView that is displaying a list of Source Types. Part of the GridView is a DataKey, SourceTypeID. If source TypeID is passed to the page via a query sting, how to I put the Gridview into Edit mode for the appropriate row based on the SourceTypeID? The GridView is bound to a SQlDataSource object.   hi I have a page that has two dropdownlists(one for the locations, and the other for departments), an employee search textbox and a button. On the other page, I have a gridview. Now, what i want to archieve is that when a user types an employee's name in the textbox control, selects a location from the location dropdownlist, and a department from the departments dropdownlist, and click the button(search), the gridview on the other page must show the reqiured information of a SINGLE employee. Only one row must show. I have created a database for the employees. I know how to do this with the autopostback but i have not tried it using a button's click. NB: the gridview should show only one row of a selected employee. I'm using ASP.NET VB Your help will high apprecaited.

• Flash Builder 4 "includeIn" property causing design view error

  I am creating a custom TextInput component that will define an "error" state. I have extended the TextInput class to change the state to "error" if the errorString property's length is greater than 0. In the skin class, I have defined an "error" state, and added some logic to detect the size and position of the error icon. However, if I have this code at the same time I use the "includeIn" property in the bitmap image tag, I get a design view error. If I either A) Only include that code with no "includeIn" property set, it works or B) dont include the code to set the icon size and position and only use the "includeIn" property, it works. Any ideas what could be causing the design view problem when I use both the "includeIn" property and the icon size/position code at the same time? • Which Android hardware devices should I test on? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: What hardware devices do you test your Android apps on? I'm trying to compile a list of Android hardware devices that it would make sense to buy and test against if you want to target an as broad audience as possible, while still not buying every single Android device out there. I know there's a lot of information regarding screen sizes and Android versions available elsewhere, but: when developing for Android it's not terribly useful to know if the screen size of a device is 480x800 or 320x240, unless you feel like doing the math to convert that into Android "units" (i.e. small, normal, large or xlarge screens, and ldpi, mdpi, hdpi or xhdpi densities). Even knowing the dimensions of a device, you cannot be sure of the actual Android units as there's some overlap, see Range of screens supported in the Android documentation Taking into account the distribution of Platform versions and Screen Sizes and Densities, below is my current list based on information from the Wikipedia article on Comparison of Android devices. I'm fairly sure the information in this list is correct, but I'd welcome any suggestions/changes. • Efficient method of finding database rows that have *one or more* qualities from a list of seven qualities

  Hello! For this question, I'm looking to see if anyone has a better idea of how to implement what I'm currently planning on implementing (below): I'm keeping track of a set of images, using a database. Each image is represented by one row. I want to be able to search for images, using a number of different search parameters. One of these parameters involves a search-by-color option. (The rest of the search stuff is currently working fine.) Images in this database can contain up to seven colors: -Red -Orange -Yellow -Green -Blue -Indigo -Violet Here are some example user queries: "I want an image that contains red." "I want an image that contains red and blue." "I want an image that contains yellow and violet." "I want an image that contains red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet." And so on. Users make this selection through the use of checkboxes in an html form. They can check zero checkboxes, all seven, and anything in between. I'm curious to hear what people think would be the most efficient way to perform this database search. I have two possible options right now, but I feel like there must be something better that I'm not thinking of. (Option 1) -For each row, simply have seven additional fields in the database, one for each color. Each field holds a 1 or 0 (true/false) value, and I SELECT based on whatever the user has checked off. (I didn't like this solution so much, because it seemed kind of wasteful to add seven additional fields...especially since most pictures in this table will only have 3-4 colors max, though some could have up to 7. So that means I'm storing a lot of zeros.) Also, if I added more searchable colors later on (which I don't think I will, but it's always possible), I'd have to add more fields. (Option 2) -For each image row, I could have a "colors" text field that stores space-separated color names (or numbers for the sake of compactness). Then I could do a fulltext match against search through the fields, selecting rows that contain "red yellow green" (or "1 3 4"). But I kind of didn't want to do fulltext searching because I already allow a keyword search, and I didn't really want to do two fulltext searches per image search. Plus, if the database gets big, fulltext stuff might slow down. Any better options that I didn't think of? Thanks! Side Note: I'm using PHP to work with a MySQL database.

• MYSQL sum() for distinct rows

  I'm looking for help using sum() in my SQL query (not posting full query since the scenario is fairly simple). I have COUNT(DISTINCT conversions.id) in my query. I use DISTINCT because I'm doing "group by" for multiple columns and this ensures the same row is not counted more than once. Now I want to add: SUM(conversions.value) as conversion_value The problem is that the "value" for each row is counted more than once (due to the multiple group bys) I basically want to do SUM(conversions.value) for each DISTINCT conversions.id. Is that possible?

  Alright I'm currently lost on a particular assignment I have for a class. I've seen many examples of this app but none of them see to help my problem is as follows: Write a Sub procedure "DisplaySquare" to display the solid square. The size should be specified by the integer parameter "size". The character that fills the square should be specified by the string parameter "fillCharacter. Use a For...Next statement nested within another For...Next statement to create the square. The outer For...Next specifies what row is currently being displayed. The inner For...Next appends all the characters that form the row to a display string. So it should come out like as follows: if a user enters "8" and "#" ######## ######## ######## ######## ######## ######## ######## ######## Any help would be appreciated.
