  • jQuery add border to table.

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
    Hi, I'm a jQuery noob, I tried this: <input value="1" type="checkbox" name="mytable" id="checkbox2" style="float:left;" /> {literal} <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { //checkbox $(".mytable").click(function(){ $(".mytable").toggleClass('mytableborders'); }); }); </script> {/literal} <table class="mytable" id="cart">....</table> But it doesn't work, I want the checkbox to change the class of the table from .mytable to .mytableborders. Thanks :)

  • Firefox can not layout nested tables properly?

    - by ooplidi
    I want to implement a collapsible menu. I plan to use table component to simulate a menu, and nest a sub table into a table cell to simulate a sub menu. Below is my code, it works as expected in IE, Chrome and Safari, but it doesn't work well in Firefox: <html> <body> <div id="menu" style="position:absolute; left:150px; top:100px; z-index:1"> <table width="200px" height="90" border=1 cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td colspan=2>Money</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan=2>Tool</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Food <table style="position:absolute; left:200px; top:60px; z-index:1" width="200px" height="60px" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td>Cookie</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Fruit <table style="position:absolute; left:200px; top:30px; z-index:1" width="200px" height="60px" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td>Apple</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Banana</td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </div> </body> </html> It seems that Firefox think the "left" and "top" attribute for the level 3 menu is relative to the level 1 menu, so it layout the level 3 menu incorrectly. Other browsers will calculate the offset base on the level 2 menu, that works as expected. Is it a bug in Firefox? If so how can I work around it? I want my code to have the same behavior in all major browsers.

  • How to let short content pages reach the bottom of the browser window and then a footer should appea

    - by UXdesigner
    In this case, I've developed a CSS code for this web application ..and sometimes the resulting data is too small and the footer of the site appears in the middle of the page and looks odd. I'd like to push that whitespace of the background to the browser's bottom and then followed by a footer. AND if the page is long, that text won't get overlapped by the footer. Can someone help me out with this code right here? I've been trying to use some of the codes I found on this page:http://matthewjamestaylor.com/blog/keeping-footers-at-the-bottom-of-the-page which talks about pretty much the same issue, but I can't get it completely done: What am I doing wrong ? @charset "utf-8"; body { margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: center; height:100%; position: relative; height:100%; /* needed for container min-height */ } .spacer { clear: both; height: 0; margin: 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.1em; } .spacer_left { clear: left; margin: 0 0 10px 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.1em; } hr { height: 1px; margin: 20px 0 20px 0; border: 0; color: #ccc; background: #ccc; } #container { position:relative; /* needed for footer positioning*/ height:auto !important; /* real browsers */ height:100%; /* IE6: treaded as min-height*/ min-height:100%; /* real browsers */ width: 1160px; /* width of the site ! */ margin: 0 auto; padding: 0; border: 1px solid #333; text-align: left; } /* Context Bar */ h1#contexto { background:url('../images/menubarbg2.png'); width:1160px; height:30px; position:relative; margin-top:10px; visibility: inherit; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; } #header { margin: 0; padding: 5px; height:70px; } h1#titulo { margin: 0; padding: 0 0 0; } #content { margin: -15px 20px 0 20px; /*padding: -6px 5px 20px 5px;*/ padding:1em 1em 5em; /* bottom padding for footer */ } div#content.columns { margin-left: 100px; } #content abbr, #content acronym { cursor: help; border-bottom: 1px dotted; } #content ul { list-style-type: square; } #content ul li, #content ol li { margin: 0 0 0.4em 0; padding: 0; } #content blockquote { width: 75%; margin: 0 auto; padding: 20px; } #footer { margin: 0; height: -30px; padding: 5px; clear: both; bottom:0; position:relative; } UPDATE: THE SOLUTION @charset "utf-8"; body, html { margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: center; position: relative; height:100%; /* needed for footer positioning*/ } .spacer { clear: both; height: 0; margin: 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.1em; } .spacer_left { clear: left; margin: 0 0 10px 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.1em; } hr { height: 1px; margin: 20px 0 20px 0; border: 0; color: #ccc; background: #ccc; } #container { position:relative; /* needed for footer positioning*/ min-height: 100%;/* needed for footer positioning*/ height: auto !important;/* needed for footer positioning*/ height: 100%;/* needed for footer positioning*/ margin: 0 auto -30px;/* needed for footer positioning*/ width: 1160px; padding: 0; border: 1px solid #333; text-align: left; } #header { margin: 0; padding: 5px; height:70px; } h1#titulo { margin: 0; padding: 0 0 0; } h1#contexto { background:url('../images/menubarbg2.png'); width:1160px; height:30px; position:relative; margin-top:10px; visibility: inherit; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; } #content { margin: -15px 20px 30px 20px; /* needed for footer positioning*/ } div#content.columns { margin-left: 100px; } #content abbr, #content acronym { cursor: help; border-bottom: 1px dotted; } #content ul { list-style-type: square; } #content ul li, #content ol li { margin: 0 0 0.4em 0; padding: 0; } #content blockquote { width: 75%; margin: 0 auto; padding: 20px; } #footer, .push /* needed for footer positioning*/ { padding: 5px; clear: both; position:absolute;/* needed for footer positioning*/ bottom:0;/* needed for footer positioning*/ height: -30px;/* needed for footer positioning*/ width:1150px; }

  • Make text in a <div> wrap around a child element.

    - by John
    In Word you can place an image on a page and have the text flow nicely around it. I was wondering how far one can get towards this using CSS, noting that is has to work in IE6. I already have something sort of close using float, but the floated child-element still 'blocks' text above it. So it partially wraps. Is it possible to put a child div at some arbitrary position in the parent, and have text flow around it freely? The actual use-case here is to put illustrations inside the main content , where each illustration is implemented inside a child . I repeat, it has to work on IE6. And I don't want to get too involved in browser-specific hacks... floating the child at least works on IE6 with no tweaking. Currently I have like this: <div> <div class="illustration"> <img src="image1.png" /> <p>Illustration caption</p> </div> <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consetetur sadipscing elitr, sed diam nonumy eirmod tempor invidunt ut labore et dolore magna aliquyam erat, sed diam voluptua. Atvero eos et accusam et justo duo dolores et ea rebum. Stet clita kasd gubergren, no sea takimata sanctus est Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet. </p> </div> div.illustration { float:right; border-top: 1px solid #505050; border-left: 1px solid #505050; border-right: 1px solid #505050; border-bottom: 1px solid #505050; margin-right:30px; margin-top:100px; text-align:center; padding:2px; background: #96C3FF; } div.illustration p { margin:0; font-size:small; font-style:italic; padding:0; }

  • Safari Extjs grid rendering issue

    - by Natkeeran
    Hello: Here is a simple illustration of what I mean. It works in IE, and FF, but not in Safari. I have four panels which are dynamically added to a tabpanel item. Three are grid panels, and one is a form panel. I need to preserve the grids proportions or sizes. I tried several layout methods (table, column, absolute etc), and nothing seems work so far. For table layout, all sizes end up being the same width. It seems my best bet is column layout, and they seem to render properly in FF, IE, but not in Safari as shown in the image. (Here it seems that column goes to second row, when the item does not fit into the current row). Initially, the title bar, and several of the column headings does not show. Any suggestions. Thank you.

  • Loading Magento child html outside of Magento

    - by Christian Thamer
    I am loading Magento blocks outside of Magento for certain parts of my site. I can do this successfully with something similar the following. require_once $docRoot.'/app/Mage.php'; umask(0); Mage::app('default'); ... $layout = Mage::getSingleton('core/layout'); $block = $layout->createBlock('Mage_Page_Block_Html_Header'); $block->setTemplate('page/html/header.phtml'); echo $block->renderView(); The problem is that if the block I am rending has child blocks(html) they are not included in the output. In the example above the file header.phtml contains the following call for child html that is missing from the output. ... <?php echo $this->getChildHtml('topLinks') ?> ...

  • LinearLayout of a WebView and a Button.

    - by Timmmm
    Hi, I recently struggled with an apparently simple Android layout: I wanted a WebView above a Button. It worked fine with the following parameters: WebView: Height: wrap-content Weight: unset (by the way, what is the default?) Button: Height: wrap-content Weight: unset However if the web page became too big it spilled out over the button. I tried various combinations of weights and heights, and all except one either completely hide the button, or partially cover it. This is the one that works (copied from http://code.google.com/p/apps-for-android/source/browse/trunk/Samples/WebViewDemo/res/layout/main.xml): WebView: Height: 0 Weight: 1 Button: Height: wrap-content Weight: unset If you change any of those, e.g. give button a weight or change the WebView height to wrap-content then it doesn't work. My question is: Why? Can someone please explain what on Earth the android layout system is thinking?

  • What is the best approach towards styling GWT applications?

    - by Ashwin
    General approach in GWT is to use Panels and then apply custom CSS themes to get a customized look. While I can achieve a certain extent of personalization of my GWT app through CSS tinkering, I was wondering how others generally approach styling. Some of the suggestions I came across the web were to manage layout with plain HTML, through use of HTMLPanel's. This way one can straightaway use the HTML mock-up within the application without having to code all the layout. So what in your opinion is the best and least painful way to approach layout and custom styling of GWT application?

  • Dynamic Windows Forms Components (Performance problem)

    - by Svisstack
    I have a problem with performance of my code under Windows Forms. Have a form, her layout is depending on constructor data, because he layout must be OnLoad or in Constructor generated. I generation is simple, base FlowLayoutPanel have other FlowLayoutPanels, for each have a Label and TextBox with DataBinding. Problem is this is VERY SLOW, up to 20 seconds, i drawing less than 100 controls, from Performace Session i know a problem is on 70% procesing functions: System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlCollection.Add(class System.Windows.Forms.Control) System.Windows.Forms.ControlBindingsCollection.Add(class System.Windows.Forms.Binding) How i can do with this? Anyone help me in this problem? How solve the dynamic form layout problem?

  • How can I vertically center an element with GWT?

    - by Camille
    Perhaps I haven't been searching the right way but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to center an element using GWT Layout Panels. I'm using UiBinder and I've tried all panels that implement HasVerticalAlignment (DockPanel, HorizontalPanel, VerticalPanel). None of them seem to have any impact from setting vertical alignment (or even horizontal). I've made sure they're taking 100% width and height, inspected the resulting DOM layout from my browser and nothing seems to be changed from those properties. The quick and dirty fix I've figured out is to create my own "CenterPanel" widget which basically is a wrapper around a HTMLPanel with a HTML table with a valign="middle" cell. However, this basically feels like a throwback to the classical css-layout middle centering problems. Surely GWT has something to do this that I've completely overlooked?

  • How to achieve table like rows within container using CSS

    - by Barry
    I'm helping an artist maintain her website and have inherited some pretty outdated code. Have moved lots of redundant common code to include files and am now working on moving from inline styles to more CSS-driven styles. For the gallery pages, e.g. http://artistsatlaketahoe.com/abstract.html, a lot of inline styling is used to force the current layout. My preference would be to replace this entirely with CSS that presents the following table-like layout within the "content" div: [image] [image descriptives and purchase button] [image] [image descriptives and purchase button] [image] [image descriptives and purchase button] I'd like to middle-align the image descriptives & purchase button relative to the image if possible. And then apply some padding above and below each row to stop using tags for vertical spacing. Any ideas how to create a div that I can use to get this kind of layout? Thanks!

  • Control margins of an automatically generated content presenter in Windows Phone Panorama Control

    - by Maxim V. Pavlov
    I am building an MVVM Panorama Windows Phone 7 application. At some point of Panorama Item's layout I get a bottom margin of a panorama header box, that moves my content too far down. Is there a way I can set a bottom margin of a ContentPresenter, that is generated to hold the controls, defined in the Panorama.HeaderTemplate? Here is my layout list in Silverlight Spy: In case the screen shot is not readable, here is a large version: http://bit.ly/rBvNp8 Something generates a 26 points bottom margin for a header box (probably the control's code, that handles a layout). How can I control this value? I need it to be set to 0.

  • Buttons with equal heights.

    - by Rpond
    Linear layout below. This layout is aligned parent bottom in a Relative Layout. Problem is I want all buttons to have the same height. I have tried layout_gravity="fill" but that doesn't seem to work. <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/button_layout" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:background="#FFFFFF" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"> <Button android:text="Send" android:id="@+id/send_button" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_gravity="fill" android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> </Button> <Button android:text="Report Missing Image" android:id="@+id/report_button" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> </Button> <Button android:text="Close" android:id="@+id/close_button" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_gravity="fill" android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> </Button> </LinearLayout>

  • TextView would not horizontally center

    - by theGreenCabbage
    My layout is the following: <TextView android:id="@+id/display_city" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:layout_above="@+id/pollenType" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_below="@+id/get_pollen_index" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:layout_marginTop="51dp" android:textSize="40sp" /> As you can tell, Philadelphia, PA is left-aligned. No matter what I change, whether it's centering horizontal and vertical to true, it stays left-aligned. I have tried changing the layout via the XML and graphical user interface. In the graphical user interface, it indeed is "centered", but it remains non-centered. My layout positions are consistent across all my textviews, so I am unsure as to why this particular TextView is not centered.

  • android localization: Is it a good practice to have only needed resource to put in localized folder?

    - by MobileDev123
    Hi, My application has 4 languages in it. However only one module needs to be localized out of 5, This module has 4 layout files and some images, remaining files can be there in default layout folder and drawable folders. My question is : is it good practice to put only needed files in localization folders, if I leave other files in its respective folders and don't copy them in translation folders, does my application throw NullPointerException when my application runs in other language? and Does android market have any size limit? (Also being a BB developer,AFAIK they do not allow OTA, if the application size grows more than 3 mb) [In case i need to copy the layout and image files]. Note about NullPointerException : it throws in string if you omit some string in localization and application runs in that particular locale. Thanks

  • Using rounded corners in modern websites with CSS3

    - by nikolaosk
    This is going to be the sixth post in a series of posts regarding HTML 5. You can find the other posts here , here, here , here and here.In this post I will provide a hands-on example on how to use rounded corners (rounded corners in CSS3) in your website. I think this is the feature that is most required in the new modern websites.Most websites look great with their lovely round panels and rounded corner tab style menus. We could achieve that effect earlier but we should resort to complex CSS rules and images. I will show you how to accomplish this great feature with the power of CSS 3.We will not use Javascript.Javascript is required for IE 7, IE 8 and the notorious IE 6. The best solution for implementing corners using CSS and Javascript without using images is Nifty corners cube. There are detailed information how to achieve this in the link I provided. This solution is tested in earlier vesrions of IE (IE 6,IE 7,IE 8) and Opera,Firefox,Safari. In order to be absolutely clear this is not (and could not be) a detailed tutorial on HTML 5. There are other great resources for that.Navigate to the excellent interactive tutorials of W3School.Another excellent resource is HTML 5 Doctor.Two very nice sites that show you what features and specifications are implemented by various browsers and their versions are http://caniuse.com/ and http://html5test.com/. At this times Chrome seems to support most of HTML 5 specifications.Another excellent way to find out if the browser supports HTML 5 and CSS 3 features is to use the Javascript lightweight library Modernizr.In this hands-on example I will be using Expression Web 4.0.This application is not a free application. You can use any HTML editor you like.You can use Visual Studio 2012 Express edition. You can download it here.Before I go on with the actual demo I will use the (http://www.caniuse.com) to see the support for web fonts from the latest versions of modern browsers.Please have a look at the picture below. We see that all the latest versions of modern browsers support this feature.We can see that even IE 9 supports this feature.  Let's move on with the actual demo. This is going to be a rather simple demo.I create a simple HTML 5 page. The markup follows and it is very easy to use and understand <!DOCTYPE html><html lang="en">  <head>    <title>HTML 5, CSS3 and JQuery</title>    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" >    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css">       </head>  <body>      <div id="header">      <h1>Learn cutting edge technologies</h1>    </div>        <div id="main">          <h2>HTML 5</h2>                        <p id="panel1">            HTML5 is the latest version of HTML and XHTML. The HTML standard defines a single language that can be written in HTML and XML. It attempts to solve issues found in previous iterations of HTML and addresses the needs of Web Applications, an area previously not adequately covered by HTML.          </p>      </div>             </body>  </html>Then I need to write the various CSS rules that style this markup. I will name it style.css   body{        line-height: 38px;        width: 1024px;        background-color:#eee;        text-align:center;      }#panel1 { margin:auto; text-align:left; background-color:#77cdef;width:400px; height:250px; padding:15px;font-size:16px;font-family:tahoma;color:#fff;border-radius: 20px;}Have a look below to see what my page looks like in IE 10. This is possible through the border-radious property. The colored panel has all four corners rounded with the same radius.We can add a border to the rounded corner panel by adding this property declaration in the #panel1,  border:4px #000 solid;We can have even better visual effects if we specify a radius for each corner.This is the updated version of the style.css. body{        line-height: 38px;        width: 1024px;        background-color:#eee;        text-align:center;      }#panel1 { margin:auto; text-align:left; background-color:#77cdef;border:4px #000 solid;width:400px; height:250px; padding:15px;font-size:16px;font-family:tahoma;color:#fff;border-top-left-radius: 20px;border-top-right-radius: 70px;border-bottom-right-radius: 20px;border-bottom-left-radius: 70px;} This is how my page looks in Firefox 15.0.1  In this final example I will show you how to style with CSS 3 (rounded corners) a horizontal navigation menu. This is the new version of the HTML markup<!DOCTYPE html><html lang="en">  <head>    <title>HTML 5, CSS3 and JQuery</title>    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" >    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css">       </head>  <body>      <div id="header">      <h1>Learn cutting edge technologies</h1>    </div>        <div id="nav"><ul><li><a class="mymenu" id="activelink" href="http://weblogs.asp.net/controlpanel/blogs/posteditor.aspx?SelectedNavItem=Posts§ionid=1153&postid=8934038#">Main</a></li><li><a class="mymenu" href="http://weblogs.asp.net/controlpanel/blogs/posteditor.aspx?SelectedNavItem=Posts§ionid=1153&postid=8934038#">HTML 5</a></li><li><a class="mymenu" href="http://weblogs.asp.net/controlpanel/blogs/posteditor.aspx?SelectedNavItem=Posts§ionid=1153&postid=8934038#">CSS 3</a></li><li><a class="mymenu" href="http://weblogs.asp.net/controlpanel/blogs/posteditor.aspx?SelectedNavItem=Posts§ionid=1153&postid=8934038#">JQuery</a></li></ul></div>        <div id="main">          <h2>HTML 5</h2>                        <p id="panel1">            HTML5 is the latest version of HTML and XHTML. Issues: May have some rendering issues in some versions of IE, sorry :-) Instruments: css file html with specific menu format jQuery-ui library - optional if you want to use your own images/colors Implementation Details: HTML: <div id="header">   <div id="header_Menubar">     <ul class="linkList0 ui-tabs-nav ui-helper-reset ui-helper-clearfix ui-widget-header ui-corner-all">         <li class="first more ui-state-default ui-corner-top ui-tabs-selected"><a title="Home" href="/Home">Home</a>             <ul class="linkList01 ui-tabs-nav ui-helper-reset ui-helper-clearfix ui-widget-header ui-corner-all">                 <li class="ifirst ui-state-default ui-corner-top"><abbr title="Go Home"></abbr><a title="Home" href="/Home">Home</a></li>             </ul>         </li>         <li class="more ui-state-default ui-corner-top ui-tabs-selected"><a title="Menu 2" href="/Menu2a">Menu 2</a>             <ul class="linkList01 ui-tabs-nav ui-helper-reset ui-helper-clearfix ui-widget-header ui-corner-all">                 <li class="ifirst ui-state-default ui-corner-top"><abbr title="Menu 2 a"></abbr><a title="Menu 2 a" href="/Menu2a">Menu 2 a</a></li>                 <li class="ilast ui-state-default ui-corner-top"><abbr title="Menu 2 b"></abbr><a title="Menu 2 b" href="/Menu2b">Menu 2 b</a></li>             </ul>         </li>         <li class="more red ui-state-default ui-corner-top ui-tabs-selected"><a title="Menu 3" href="/Menu3 d">Menu 3</a>             <ul class="linkList01 ui-tabs-nav ui-helper-reset ui-helper-clearfix ui-widget-header ui-corner-all">                 <li class="ifirst ui-state-default ui-corner-top"><abbr title="Menu 3 a"><a title="Menu 3 a" href="/Menu3a">Menu 3 a</a></abbr></li>                 <li class="ui-state-default ui-corner-top"><abbr title="Menu 3 b"><a title="Menu 3 b" href="/Menu3b">Menu 3 b</a></abbr></li>                 <li class="ui-state-default ui-corner-top"><abbr title="Menu 3 c"><a title="Menu 3 c" href="/Menu3c">Menu 3 c</a></abbr></li>                 <li class="ilast ui-state-default ui-corner-top"><abbr title="Menu 3 d"><a title="Menu 3 d" href="/Menu3d">Menu 3 d</a></abbr></li>             </ul>         </li>     </ul>     </div> </div> CSS: /*    =Menu     -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------    */ #header #header_Menubar {     margin: 0; • Non-resizeable, bordered WPF Windows with WindowStyle=None

    - by danielmartinoli
    Basically, I need a window to look like the following image: http://screenshots.thex9.net/2010-05-31_2132.png (Is NOT resizeable, yet retains the glass border) I've managed to get it working with Windows Forms, but I need to be using WPF. To get it working in Windows Forms, I used the following code: protected override void WndProc(ref Message m) { if (m.Msg == 0x84 /* WM_NCHITTEST */) { m.Result = (IntPtr)1; return; } base.WndProc(ref m); } This does exactly what I want it to, but I can't find a WPF-equivalent. The closest I've managed to get with WPF caused the Window to ignore any mouse input. Any help would be hugely appreciated :)

  • How to determine which dijit.layout.AccordionPane is currently selected

    - by David Zhao
    Hi there, I tried to use "dijit.layout.AccordionPane.selected" to determine if any given AccordionPane is in focus (selected). However, AccordionPane.selected property will be set to "True" once the AccordionPane is selected, and AccordionPane.selected stays as "True" even other dijit.layout.AccordionPane is selected. So in other words, if I have 3 AccordionPanes, after I clicked on all 3 of them, AccordionPane.selected property for all 3 of them are "True" now. Is this a bug, or there is other ways to determine which AccordionPane is currently being selected (in focus)? Thanks in advance! David

  • Android - making a layout like Entourage/Outlook calendar

    - by teepusink
    Hi, I'm trying to build a layout / view like the Entourage/Outlook calendar view, where when I schedule a time block, a new view will popup overlaying the time block. Something like this one except it's daily and not monthly like in the image http://images.appleinsider.com/office-2008-entourage-10.png What is the best way to implement that? Right now I'm using TableLayout to create the time on the 1st column and supposedly overlay to schedule made on the 2nd column. However, things got very messy especially when the minutes go to 15 minutes and there are overlapping schdule. Wonder if using other layout might work better? Thanks, Tee
