  • Executing bat file and returning the prompt

    - by Lieven Cardoen
I have a problem with cruisecontrol where an ant scripts executes a bat file that doesn't give me the prompt back. As a result, the project in cruisecontrol keeps on bulding forever until I restart cruisecontrol. How can I resolve this? It's a startup.bat from wowza (Streaming Server) that I'm executing: @echo off call setenv.bat if not %WMSENVOK% == "true" goto end set _WINDOWNAME="Wowza Media Server 2" set _EXESERVER= if "%1"=="newwindow" ( set _EXESERVER=start %_WINDOWNAME% shift ) set CLASSPATH="%WMSAPP_HOME%\bin\wms-bootstrap.jar" rem cacls jmxremote.password /P username:R rem cacls jmxremote.access /P username:R rem NOTE: Here you can configure the JVM's built in JMX interface. rem See the "Server Management Console and Monitoring" chapter rem of the "User's Guide" for more information on how to configure the rem remote JMX interface in the [install-dir]/conf/Server.xml file. set JMXOPTIONS=-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote=true rem set JMXOPTIONS=%JMXOPTIONS% -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=192.168.1.7 rem set JMXOPTIONS=%JMXOPTIONS% -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=1099 rem set JMXOPTIONS=%JMXOPTIONS% -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false rem set JMXOPTIONS=%JMXOPTIONS% -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false rem set JMXOPTIONS=%JMXOPTIONS% -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.password.file= "%WMSCONFIG_HOME%/conf/jmxremote.password" rem set JMXOPTIONS=%JMXOPTIONS% -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.access.file= "%WMSCONFIG_HOME%/conf/jmxremote.access" rem log interceptor com.wowza.wms.logging.LogNotify - see Javadocs for ILogNotify %_EXESERVER% "%_EXECJAVA%" %JAVA_OPTS% %JMXOPTIONS% -Dcom.wowza.wms.AppHome="%WMSAPP_HOME%" -Dcom.wowza.wms.ConfigURL="%WMSCONFIG_URL%" -Dcom.wowza.wms.ConfigHome="%WMSCONFIG_HOME%" -cp %CLASSPATH% com.wowza.wms.bootstrap.Bootstrap start :end

  • ClassNotFoundException when connecting to Mysql with JDBC

    - by Jacob Lyles
I'm getting the following error when I try to run a simple Java JDBC program at the command line: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: LoadDriver/java Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: LoadDriver.java at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:315) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:330) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:250) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:398) Here's the simple Java program, copied right out of the JDBC docs: import java.sql.Connection; import java.sql.DriverManager; import java.sql.SQLException; // Notice, do not import com.mysql.jdbc.* // or you will have problems! public class LoadDriver { public static void main(String[] args) { try { // The newInstance() call is a work around for some // broken Java implementations Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance(); } catch (Exception ex) { throw ex; // handle the error } } } Problem is, I'm bloody sure my bash shell $ClASSPATH variable is pointed at the correct .jar file. To be sure, I copied the JDBC .jar to the same directory as my program and ran it as follows: java -classpath ./mysql-connector-java-5.1.12-bin.jar LoadDriver.java I still get the same error. I'm running under Mac OSX, if it matters.

  • Where to put external archives to configure running in Eclipse?

    - by Buggieboy
As a Java/Eclipse noob coming from a Visual Studio .NET background, I'm trying to understand how to set up my run/debug environment in the Eclipse IDE so I can start stepping through code. I have built my application with separate src and bin hierarchies for each library project, and each project has its own jar. For example, in a Windows environment, I have something like: c:\myapp\myapp_main\src\com\mycorp\myapp\main ...and a parallel "bin" tree like this: c:\myapp\myapp_main\bin\com\mycorp\myapp\main Other supporting projects are, similarly: **c:\myapp\myapp_util\src\com\mycorp\myapp\uti**l (and a parallel "bin" tree.) ... etc. So, I end up with, e.g., myapp_util.jar in the ...\myapp_util\bin... path and then add that as an external archive to my myapp_main project. I also use utilities like gluegen-rt.jar, which I add ad external dependencies to the projects requiring them. I have been able to run outside of the Eclipse environment, by copying all my project jars, gluegen-rt DLL, etc., into a "lib" subfolder of some directory and executing something like: java -Djava.library.path=lib -DfullScreen=false -cp lib/gluegen-rt.jar;lib/myapp_main.jar;lib/myapp_util.jar; com.mycorp.myapp.Main When I first pressed F11 to debug, however, I got a message about something like /com/sun/../glugen... not being found by the class loader. So, to debug, or even just run, in Ecplipse, I tried setting up my VM arguments in the Galileo Debug - (Run/Debug) Configurations to be the command line above, beginning at "-Djava.libary.path...". I've put a lib subdirectory - just like the above with all jars and the native gluegen DLL - in various places, such as beneath the folder that my main jar is built in and as a subfolder of my Ecplipse starting workspace folder, but now Eclipse can't find the main class: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.mycorp.myapp.Main Although the Classpath says that it is using the "default classpath", whatever that is. Bottom line, how do I assemble the constituent files of a multi-project application so that I can run or debug in Ecplipse?

  • datanucleus enhancer & javaw: "the parameter is incorrect"

    - by Riley
I'm on windows XP using eclipse and the datanucleus enhancer for a gwt + gae app. When I run the enhancer, I get an error: Error Thu Oct 21 16:33:57 CDT 2010 Cannot run program "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_18\bin\javaw.exe" (in directory "C:\ag\dev"): CreateProcess error=87, The parameter is incorrect java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_18\bin\javaw.exe" (in directory "C:\ag\dev"): CreateProcess error=87, The parameter is incorrect at java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(Unknown Source) at com.google.gdt.eclipse.core.ProcessUtilities.launchProcessAndActivateOnError(ProcessUtilities.java:213) at com.google.appengine.eclipse.core.orm.enhancement.EnhancerJob.runInWorkspace(EnhancerJob.java:154) at org.eclipse.core.internal.resources.InternalWorkspaceJob.run(InternalWorkspaceJob.java:38) at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:55) Caused by: java.io.IOException: CreateProcess error=87, The parameter is incorrect at java.lang.ProcessImpl.create(Native Method) at java.lang.ProcessImpl.<init>(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ProcessImpl.start(Unknown Source) ... 5 more I've had this problem before, and it was due to a long classpath. I just spent an hour and a half shortening my classpath by moving libraries around and even moving my eclipse install, but with no luck. Any ideas about where I should start to look for an answer? The error message doesn't include any information about what directory it's in or anything. It's kind of infuriating! Is it possible to make the output of javaw more verbose? Is it possible to get around this class-path size bug?

  • Is it worthwhile learning about Emacs? [closed]

    - by dole doug
Hi there Some time ago, I've heard what a great tool Emacs can be. I've read some papers about it and some watched some video too. I've read that emacs is great not only for developers but for usual users too...so i decided to start learning how to use it and wok with it. The problem is that I'm a MS Windows user and I learn in my spare time PHP and C(I also did some products on those languages, but i still considering myself in learning stage). Another problem is that I learn alone (no friends around to ask/learn from them, programming related stuff). Can you give me some tips about how to use those type of tools(especially those written for gnu/unix) with "poor" GUI but rich features? Do you recommend to use the specific windows written applications only and forget about those which come from GNU?

  • Groovlet + Tomcat: "unable to resolve class" when importing libraries

    - by Rob Hruska
I'm having some trouble running a groovy servlet (groovlet) in tomcat that imports a library class. When I don't import anything the groovlet works correctly, but if I do import something that I expect to be on the classpath (I can import the same class successfully in a regular servlet), I see the following error: groovy.util.ScriptException: Could not parse scriptName: /MyGroovlet.groovy java.lang.RuntimeException: groovy.util.ScriptException: Could not parse scriptName: /MyGroovlet.groovy at groovy.servlet.GroovyServlet$1.call(GroovyServlet.java:123) ... Caused by: org.codehaus.groovy.control.MultipleCompilationErrorsException: startup failed, /MyGroovlet.groovy: 1: unable to resolve class com.mycompany.mypackage.MyLibraryClass @ line 1, column 1. The jar containing MyLibraryClass is in shared/lib, which is loaded by tomcat by the following in catalina.properties: shared.loader=...,${catalina.base}/shared/lib/*.jar,... My groovlets are mapped as described in the user guide in my application's web.xml: <servlet> <servlet-name>GroovyServlet</servlet-name> <servlet-class>groovy.servlet.GroovyServlet</servlet-class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>GroovyServlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>*.groovy</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> And here's the code for the groovlet, MyGroovlet.groovy: import com.mycompany.mypackage.MyLibraryClass MyLibraryClass.someStaticMethod() My groovlet is deployed to WEB-INF/groovy/MyGroovlet.groovy, per the GroovyServlet API. When I visit http://localhost:8080/myapplication/MyGroovlet.groovy, the error described previously is written to my application logs. Is there some way that I need to explicitly declare the runtime classpath for GroovyServlet? I've tried moving the library jar to several places, including WEB-INF/lib and moving the actual MyLibraryClass.class file to WEB-INF/classes, but with no luck.

  • Why does PuTTYcyg display â instead of hyphen in man pages?

    - by gbacon
I've been using PuTTYcyg as a Cygwin terminal, but it doesn't render dashes in manual pages correctly. For example, the top of man gcc looks like GCC(1) GNU GCC(1) NAME gcc â GNU project C and C++ compiler SYNOPSIS gcc [âc|âS|âE] [âstd=standard] [âg] [âpg] [âOlevel] [âWwarn...] [âpedantic] [âIdir...] [âLdir...] [âDmacro[=defn]...] [âUmacro] [âfoption...] [âmmachineâoption...] [âo outfile] infile... Changing fonts doesn't help. How can I fix this?

  • bash script to check running process

    - by elasticsecurity
I wrote a bash-script to check if a process is running. It doesn't work since the ps command always returns exit code 1. When I run the ps command from the command-line, the $? is correctly set, but within the script it is always 1. Any idea? #!/bin/bash SERVICE=$1 ps -a | grep -v grep | grep $1 > /dev/null result=$? echo "exit code: ${result}" if [ "${result}" -eq "0" ] ; then echo "`date`: $SERVICE service running, everything is fine" else echo "`date`: $SERVICE is not running" fi Bash version: GNU bash, version 3.2.25(1)-release (x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu)

  • How to checkout from SVN with an ANT task?

    - by Josh
I'm interested in any way that I can create an Ant task to checkout files from SubVersion. I "just" want to do the checkout from the command line. I've been using Eclipse with Ant and SubVersion for a while now, but my Ant and SubVersion knowledge is somewhat lacking as I relied on Eclipse to wire it all together. I've been looking at SvnAnt as one solution, which is part of Subclipse from Tigris at http://subclipse.tigris.org/svnant/svn.html. It may work fine, but all I get are NoClassDefFoundErrors. To the more experienced this probably looks like a simple Ant configuration problem, but I don't know about that. I copied the svnant.jar and svnclientadapter.jar into my Ant lib directory. Then I tried to run the following: <?xml version="1.0"?> <project name="blah"> <property environment="env"/> <path id="svnant.classpath"> <pathelement location="${env.ANT_HOME}/lib"/> <fileset dir="${env.ANT_HOME}/lib/"> <include name="svnant.jar"/> </fileset> </path> <typedef resource="org/tigris/subversion/svnant/svnantlib.xml" classpathref="svnant.classpath" /> <target name="checkout"> <svn username="abc" password="123"> <checkout url="svn://blah/blah/trunk" destPath="workingcopy"/> </svn> </target> </project> To which I get the following response: build.xml:17: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/tigris/subversion/javahl/SVNClientInterface I am running SVN 1.7 and SvnAnt 1.3 on Windows XP 32-bit. Thanks for any pointers!

  • Calling and leaving gnuplot prompt and png export

    - by ldigas
    a) I have a data file with, well ... data, and a .gnu file with gnuplot commands. If I call gnuplot like this: gnuplot -p commands_file.gnu I'll get the graph on screen and when I close it, gnuplot will be in it's own prompt (gnuplot_). How can I make it just show the graph, and put me back on cmd prompt after I close it ? b) How to "export" that graph to png or something insertable in Word ? I know there are a dozen tutorials for this on the 'net, but I'm having trouble just finding a simple example.

  • Java: Exception in thread main java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

    - by cath
I am trying to get the Red5 Flash Media Server working on my computer. I have installed it, but when I run the server I get this error Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/red5/server/Bootstrap Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.red5.server.Bootstrap at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:217) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:205) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:321) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:294) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:266) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:334) Could not find the main class: org.red5.server.Bootstrap. • What does subl do here?

    - by drozzy
So... I'm compiling into assembler, with gcc -S -O2 -m32: void h(int y){int x; x=y+1; f(y); f(2); } And it gives me the following: .file "sample.c" .text .p2align 4,,15 .globl h .type h, @function h: pushl %ebp movl %esp, %ebp subl $24, %esp movl 8(%ebp), %eax movl %eax, (%esp) call f movl $2, 8(%ebp) leave jmp f .size h, .-h .ident "GCC: (GNU) 4.4.3 20100127 (Red Hat 4.4.3-4)" .section .note.GNU-stack,"",@progbits Now I know what pushl and movel: they store the current frame pointer onto the stack and then set the value of the frame pointer register to the value of the Stack Pointer. But I have no idea what the subl $24, %esp is. Thanks!

  • JDBC/OSGi and how to dynamically load drivers without explicitly stating dependencies in the bundle?

    - by Chris
Hi, This is a biggie. I have a well-structured yet monolithic code base that has a primitive modular architecture (all modules implement interfaces yet share the same classpath). I realize the folly of this approach and the problems it represents when I go to deploy on application servers that may have different conflicting versions of my library. I'm dependent on around 30 jars right now and am mid-way though bnding them up. Now some of my modules are easy to declare the versioned dependencies of, such as my networking components. They statically reference classes within the JRE and other BNDded libraries but my JDBC related components instantiate via Class.forName(...) and can use one of any number of drivers. I am breaking everything up into OSGi bundles by service area. My core classes/interfaces. Reporting related components. Database access related components (via JDBC). etc.... I wish for my code to be able to still be used without OSGi via single jar file with all my dependencies and without OSGi at all (via JARJAR) and also to be modular via the OSGi meta-data and granular bundles with dependency information. How do I configure my bundle and my code so that it can dynamically utilize any driver on the classpath and/or within the OSGi container environment (Felix/Equinox/etc.)? Is there a run-time method to detect if I am running in an OSGi container that is compatible across containers (Felix/Equinox/etc.) ? Do I need to use a different class loading mechanism if I am in a OSGi container? Am I required to import OSGi classes into my project to be able to load an at-bundle-time-unknown JDBC driver via my database module? I also have a second method of obtaining a driver (via JNDI, which is only really applicable when running in an app server), do I need to change my JNDI access code for OSGi-aware app servers?

  • Can't get expand_aliases to take effect

  • Emacs CEDET and system include paths

    - by synasius
Hello everyone, I'd like to add path to the openMPI library headers. So, after i found all openMPI headers are in /usr/lib/openmpi/include/* i added these two lines to my .emacs: (semantic-add-system-include "/usr/lib/openmpi/include" 'c-mode) (semantic-add-system-include "/usr/lib/openmpi/include" 'c++-mode) I think this is ok, but it's not working! This is the result of semantic-c-describe-envirnoment command: This file's system include path is: /usr/include /usr/local/include/ /usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.4.3/include/ /usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.4.3/include-fixed/ /usr/include/ Can't figure out what's wrong or what i'm missing Thanks

  • how to associate the activemq-core.xsd url with the activemq.xsd found in the jar file?

  • Use DLL and have it be as trusted as my own application is

Hi, I am using a port of GNU GetOpts, to be specific I am using the one at: http://getopt.codeplex.com I have added the DLL as a reference. But when I run my application I receive an exception: System.IO.FileLoadException was unhandled Message="Could not load file or assembly 'Gnu.Getopt, Version=0.9.1.24287, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=d014b4ccdc53511a' or one of its dependencies. Is there a way to do that so I won't have to fiddle with security settings? And if there is not. What is the cleanest way to get the DLL working?

  • How do I make the manifest available during a Maven/Surefire unittest run "mvn test" ?

    - by Ernst de Haan
How do I make the manifest available during a Maven/Surefire unittest run "mvn test" ? I have an open-source project that I am converting from Ant to Maven, including its unit tests. Here's the project source repository with the Maven project: http://github.com/znerd/logdoc My question pertains to the primary module, called "base". This module has a unit test that tests the behaviour of the static method getVersion() in the class org.znerd.logdoc.Library. This method returns: Library.class.getPackage().getImplementationVersion() The getImplementationVersion() method returns a value of a setting in the manifest file. So far, so good. I have tested this in the past and it works well, as long as the manifest is indeed available on the classpath at the path META-INF/MANIFEST.MF (either on the file system or inside a JAR file). Now my challenge is that the manifest file is not available when I run the unit tests: mvn test Surefire runs the unit tests, but my unit test fails with a mesage indicating that Library.getVersion() returned null. When I want to check the JAR, I find that it has not even been generated. Maven/Surefire runs the unit tests against the classes, before the resources are added to the classpath. So can I either run the unit tests against the JAR (implicitly requiring the JAR to be generated first) or can I make sure the resources (including the manifest file) are generated/copied under target/classes before the unit tests are run? Note that I use Maven 2.2.0, Java 1.6.0_17 on Mac OS X 10.6.2, with JUnit 4.8.1.

  • getPackage() returning null when my JUnit test is run from Ant

    - by philharvey
I'm having problems running a JUnit test. It runs fine in Eclipse, but now I'm trying to run it from the command-line using Ant. The problem is that the following code is returning null: getClass().getPackage(). I'm running my JUnit test like so: <junit fork="no" printsummary="yes" haltonfailure="no"> <classpath refid="junit.classpath" /> <batchtest fork="yes" todir="${reports.junit}"> <fileset dir="${junit.classdir}"> <include name="**/FileHttpServerTest.class" /> <exclude name="**/*$*" /> </fileset> </batchtest> <formatter type="xml" /> ... I Googled for this sort of error, and found a number of references to classloader misbehaviour. But I've found nothing gave me enough information to solve my problem. I really need getClass().getPackage() to not return null. Can anyone help me? Thanks, Phil

  • How to redefine symbol names in objects with RVCT?

    - by Batuu
I currently develop a small OS for an embedded platform based on a ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller. The OS provides an API for customer application development. The OS kernel and the API is compiled into a static lib by the ARMCC compiler and customer can link his application against it. The lib and the containing object files offer the complete list of symbols used in kernel. To "protect" the kernel and its inner states from extern hooking into obvious variables and functions, I would like to do some easy obfuscation by renaming the symbols randomly. The GNU binutils seems to do this by calling objcopy with the --redefine-sym flag. The GNU binutils cannot read the ARMCC / RVCT objects. Is there any solution to do this kind of obfuscation with RVCT?

  • Where in maven project's path should I put configuration files that are not considered resources

    - by Paralife
I have a simple java maven project. One of my classes when executing needs to load an xml configuration file from the classpath. I dont want to package such xml file when producing the jar but I want to include a default xml file in a zip assemply under a conf subfolder and I also want this default xml to be available in the unit tests to test against it. As I see it there are 2 possible places of this default xml: src/main/resources/conf/default.xml src/main/conf/default.xml Both solutions demand special pom actions: In solution 1, I get the auto copy to target folder during build which means it is available in testing but I also get it in the produced jar which i dont want. In solution 2, I get the jar as I want it(free of the xml) but I manually have to copy the xml to the target folder to be available for testing. (I dont want to add src's subfolders in test classpath. I think it is bad practice). The question is what is the best solution of the two? If the correct is 2, what is the best way to copy it to target folder? Is there any other solution better and more common than those two? (I also read http://stackoverflow.com/questions/465001/where-should-i-put-application-configuration-files-for-a-maven-project but I would like to know the most "correct solution" from the "convention over configuration" point of view and this link provides some configuration type solutions but not any convention oriented. Maybe there isnt one but I ask anyway. Also the solutions provided include AntRun plugin and appAssembler plugin and I wonder if I could do it with out them.)

  • How to increase PermGen memory for eclipselink StaticWeaveAntTask

    - by rayd09
We are using Eclipselink and need to weave the code in order for lazy fetching to work property. During the weave process I'm getting the following error: weave: BUILD FAILED java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space I have the following tasks within my ant build file: <target name="define_weave_task" description="task definition for EclipseLink static weaving"> <taskdef name="eclipse_weave" classname="org.eclipse.persistence.tools.weaving.jpa.StaticWeaveAntTask"/> </target> <target name="weave" depends="compile,define_weave_task" description="weave eclipselink code into compiled classes"> <eclipse_weave source="${path.classes}" target="${path.classes}"> <classpath refid="compile.classpath"/> </eclipse_weave> </target> It has been working great for a long time. Now that the amount of code to be woven has increased I'm getting the PermGen error. I would like to be able to up the amount of perm space. If I was doing a compile I would be able to up the perm space via a compiler argument such as <compilerarg value="-XX:MaxPermSize=256M"/> but this does not appear to be a valid argument for eclipselink weaving. How can I up the perm space for the weave?

  • Compilation Error on Recursive Variadic Template Function

    - by Maxpm
    I've prepared a simple variadic template test in Code::Blocks, but I'm getting an error: No matching function for call to 'OutputSizes()' Here's my source code: #include <iostream> #include <typeinfo> using namespace std; template <typename FirstDatatype, typename... DatatypeList> void OutputSizes() { std::cout << typeid(FirstDatatype).name() << ": " << sizeof(FirstDatatype) << std::endl; OutputSizes<DatatypeList...>(); } int main() { OutputSizes<char, int, long int>(); return 0; } I'm using GNU GCC with -std=C++0x. Using std=gnu++0x makes no difference.

  • Issue with Visual C++ 2010 (Express) External Tools command

    - by espais
I posted this on SuperUser...but I was hoping the pros here at SO might have a good idea about how to fix this as well.... Normally we develop in VS 2005 Pro, but I wanted to give VS 2010 a spin. We have custom build tools based off of GNU make tools that are called when creating an executable. This is the error that I see whenever I call my external tool: ...\gnu\make.exe): * couldn't commit memory for cygwin heap, Win32 error 487 The caveat is that it still works perfectly fine in VS2005, as well as being called straight from the command line. Also, my external tool is setup exactly the same as in VS 2005. Is there some setting somewhere that could cause this error to be thrown?
