Source Control Checkin Comments at Top Of Source Files

I've noticed a discrepancy with some source files in our system whereby some contain source-control checkin comments, and some do not. These comments are added automatically to the top of the file when it is checked in: * $Log: //vm1/Projects/Morpheus/Sleep.bdy-arc $ -- -- Rev 1.14 Apr 14 2009 15:32:52 John Smith --Fixed bugs 2292 and 2230. This seems to have been quite prevelant in all the compainies with which I have worked, but I must confess that I struggle to see the point. Generally the comments aren't that good, are ofen left by people who have long since departed, and even when they are of a high standard it is difficult to tie them to physical code changes. It also strikes me, that you are physically changing the file that you are checking in. Now, this may not be such a problem with files that will be compiled, but could be a disaster with others, e.g. JavaScript files. So really, my query is what was the motivation in concept behind providing this functionality in the first instance? Does anyone actually find these comments useful? Also, I would be curious to know if this was feature that is commonly supported within Source Control systems. I am aware of it with PVCS, VSS and Subversion (Subversion Keyword Substitution), however I wonder if it is also available in some of the more popular DVCSs. Your help, as always is much appreciated.

django html/css windows mac problem width additional space on the top of the page

Hi, my problem is really strange... We are developing shopping-cart system in django. The problem is, when I change anything even single letter on my computer, strange space on the top of the page appears, see the picture... I don't know since when the problem appears. But if i go back to previous version (in this case 210, we use svn), everything is ok, until i change something. I'm using windows 7 and i tried to edit this file in notepad, notepad++, e and so on... In the case when my friend changes something in this 210 version on Macbook everything is ok. Have anyone any ideas? Also in source code of the page strange "-" is added before doctype, but it is only visible in chrome. But the problem is for all browsers...! what is more... for example my home page extends, categories.html and base.html, and in this case a have two "--". Bring a subview to the top on mouseDown: AND keep receiving events (for dragging)

Ok, basically I have a view with a series of slightly overlapping subviews. When a subview is clicked, it moves to the top (among other things), by a really simple two-liner: -(void)mouseDown:(NSEvent *)theEvent { if (_selected) { // Don't do anything this subview is already in the foreground return; } NSView *superview = [self superview]; [self removeFromSuperview]; [superview addSubview:self position:NSWindowAbove relativeTo:nil]; } This works fine and seems to be the "normal" way to do this. The problem is that I'm now introducing some drag logic to the view, so I need to respond to -mouseDragged:. Unfortunately, since the view is removed from the view hierarchy and re-added in the process, I can have the view come to the foreground and be dragged in the same mouse action. It only drags if I leave go of the mouse and click on the view again, since the second click doesn't do any view hierarchy juggling. Is there anything I can do that will allow the view to move to the foreground like this, AND continue to receive the subsequent -mouseDragged: and -mouseUp: events that follow? I started along the lines of thinking of overriding -hitTest: in the superview and intercepting the mouseDown event in order to bring the view to the foreground before it actually receives the event. The problem here is, from within -hitTest:, how do I distinguish what type of event I'm actually performing the hit test for? I wouldn't want to move the subview to the foreground for other mouse events, such as mouseMoved etc.

jQuery cycle floats on top of other content

I tried to replace my Flash video with a jQuery cycle. The cycle works, but the images will not stay in the editable region I placed them in. Instead they are floating on top of other content. Any ideas? This is happening on the home page of massageeducator.com There are 2 cycles on the page. “Slideshow1” and “slideshow2”. “slideshow1” works perfectly. The only thing I did differently was set up “slideshow2” as a library item since it will appear on every page, but added function code manually. I tried adding code and images via the template and had the same issue. I also tried adding both the function code and slideshow to each page instead of library item - same problem. I have both slide shows pointing to the same jquery.cycle.lite.1.0.js. Should I rename this .js file and have each cycle point to a different file? I am new to jQuery so any help is appreciated. I can't seem to post my code due to the spam filters in here!

Custom Button on top of another custom button?

I'm trying to make two custom buttons in code. One that fills the full screen with a small button on top. The problem I'm having is the larger button is triggered when the smaller button is tapped. I've tried doing exactly the same thing with IB and it works. Is there some sort of trapping/masking method that I need to use with code? I've checked the documentation and not come across anything that would suggest why this is happening. How to place images on top of each other in java

Open txt files from a directory, compare the values, and output the top 15 in PHP

Hello, I recently designed a referral game website for the fun of it. There's a simple MySQL user system with a email verification. It's using the UserCake user management system. On top of this i added a php page that the user could give to "victims" that when they visit it they get "infected" and can infect other users or "victims". This page uses GET to get the username from the url. I have a folder that when a user registers it creates a file with 4 digits and then the username. (ex; 0000Username.txt) All the numbers are the same, it's just so that if a user discovers the folder they won't be able to find the files. There is also a txt file in the same format with IPS in the name. (ex; 0000IPSUsername.txt) The file when visited gets the username from the url, then checks if the text file for that username exists. If the username is present in the url, and a valid user it opens the IPS file and adds the IP of the visitor, then opens the user text file, takes the value and adds one to it, and saves. At the end it makes the difference between saying "You are infected, Username has infected (amount) people." or just you have been infected. Now to what i need! I need to add a hi-scores to the website so people can compete to be the one with the most "infections". I thought i could use readdir to get a list of the files and open them with the value in an array, but i need it to also strip the username from the file name. It would be best if it just saves to a text file like "Username | value" because then i can add echo's of the html tags and have it include the file in the page i want it to be one. Abstract factory pattern on top of IoC?

I have decided to use IoC principles on a bigger project. However, i would like to get something straight that's been bothering me for a long time. The conclusion that i have come up with is that an IoC container is an architectural pattern, not a design pattern. In other words, no class should be aware of its presence and the container itself should be used at the application layer to stitch up all components. Essentially, it becomes an option, on top of a well designed object-oriented model. Having said that, how is it possible to access resolved types without sprinkling IoC containers all over the place (regardless of whether they are abstracted or not)? The only option i see here is to utilize abstract factories which use an IoC container to resolve concrete types. This should be easy enough to swap out for a set of standard factories. Is this a good approach? Has anyone on here used it and how well did it work for you? Is there anything else available? Thanks!

Resizing a UIView - expanding the top

I have a UIView inside of a UIScrollView that I want to resize. I can increase the height easily by : CGRect frame = self.drawinView.frame; frame.size.height += 100; self.drawinView.frame = frame; self.drawinScrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(frame.size.width, frame.size.height); And all is good. The above code will create a new area of the view at the bottom of the view that I can fill out. Now when I resize the view, I only want to be repainting the new portion of the view that has just been created. I dont want to have to repaint the whole view. However! I have run into difficulty when I need to expand the top of the view. Doing : CGRect frame = self.drawinView.frame; frame.origin.y -= 100; self.drawinView.frame = frame; self.drawinScrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(500, 600); does not work. How can I do this without having to repaint the entire view?

Windows Media Player on top other DIV

I have an embed window media player which is always on top of other DIV tags. I used wmode = opaque; WindowlessVideo = -1 but it does not help. Custom layout in Android: scrollable graphic with selectable elements over top

Hi, I'm fairly new to the Android platform and was wondering if I could get some advice for my current head scratcher: I'm making an app which in one view will need an image, which can be scrolled on one axis, with a load of selectable points over the top of it. Each point needs to be positionable on the x and y (unlikely to change once the app is running, but I'll need to fine tune the positions whilst I'm developing it). I'd like to be able to let the user select each point and have a graphic drawn on the point the user has selected or just draw a graphic on one/more points without user intervention. I though for the selectable points I could extend the checkbox with a custom image for the selected state - does that sounds right, or is there a better way of doing this? Is there any thing I can read up on doing this, I can't seem to find anything on the net about replacing the default images? I was going to use the absolute layout, but see that it's been depreciated and I can't find anything to replace it. Can anyone give me some code or advice on where to read up on what I need to do? XPath Query - Select relative top level nodes

I'm trying to iterate over some elements in an XML document that may be nested, but as I iterate over them I may be removing some from the tree. I'm thinking the best way is to do this recursively, so I'm trying to come up with an XPath Query that will select all the top-level nodes relative to the current node. //foo[not(ancestor::foo)] works great at the document level, but I'm trying to figure out how to do this from a relative query. <foo id="1"> <foo id="2" /> <foo id="3"> <foo id="4"> <bar> <foo id="5"> <foo id="6" /> </foo> <foo id="7" /> </bar> </foo> </foo> </foo> If the current node is foo#3, I only want to select foo#4. When the current node is foo#4, I only want to select foo#5 and foo#7. I think I'm trying to select any descendant foo nodes of the current node, but without any ancestor foo nodes between the current node and the node I'm selecting. My conundrum is if we're already inside a foo node, not(ancestor::foo) doesn't help.

Maximized MFC window has dead region at the top

I'm trying to make a MFC window fullscreen whenever it is maximized. This window is being used to draw OpenGL content. So far it works fine—it fills the entire screen with the exception of the taskbar—but there's a dead black region at the top of the screen, 62 pixels in height. It's pretty darn close to the height of the Windows 7 taskbar, but it pretty much stays the same regardless of if the taskbar is on autohide or on a different side of the screen. When I get a CWind::OnSize callback, the height that is given is 988, which is 62 pixels short of the actual screen height (1050). I've tried to manually set the window height to 1050 with SetWindowPos, I've tried to give Windows the screen dimensions in CWnd::OnGetMinMaxInfo, and I've tried to give the screen dimensions to glViewport instead of the 988 pixels that I'm being given. None of these seem to work. I'm accomplishing the fullscreening with a call to… ModifyStyle(0, WS_MINIMIZEBOX | WS_MAXIMIZEBOX | WS_SYSMENU | WS_CAPTION | WS_POPUP, 0); …in the SIZE_MAXIMIZED CWnd::OnSize callback, which works fine, except for this dead region. I don't know if it's an OpenGL thing or a Win32 thing or a MFC thing. The GetClientRect function for my window reports the false 988 height. The same OpenGL rendering code works fine in my Mac OS X build. Curiously enough, I have gotten the dead region to move around a bit when I play with the taskbar (autohiding it, moving it around the screen, etc.). I've gotten the dead area to shrink to about half—not sure if the other half went to the bottom of the window or not.

UIScrollView ImageView with pins on top

To all, I have a UIScrollView which has a UIImageView. I want to show pins on this imageView. When I add pins as subviews of the ImageView everything is great except for when you zoom the scale transform happens on the pins also. I don't want this behavior and want my pins to stay the same. So I choose to add the Pins to another view which sits on top of the ImageView and is also a subview of the UIScrollView. The idea here if you will imagine is to have a layer which hovers over the map and won't scale yet show pins over where I plot them. The pin when added to the layer view don't cale if the ImageView scales. However the issue then bceomes the position of the pins doesn't match the original origin x/y as the ImageView has had a scale transform. Basically this is a custom map of a place with Pins. I am trying to have the Pins float over and not zoom in and out over my ImageView yet remember where I placed them when the zoom happens. I have two div containers which are structured as follows: <div class="outer-div"> <img src="images/point.png" class="img-a1"> <img src="images/point.png" class="img-a2"> Lots of text goes here. </div> <div class="outer-div"> <img src="images/point.png" class="img-a1"> <img src="images/point.png" class="img-b2"> Some more text goes here </div> The styles associated with this are as follows: .outer-div { position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 500px; } .img-a1 { float:left; z-index:-1; position:relative; margin-left: 250px; margin-bottom: 100px; } .img-b1 { float:right; z-index:-1; position:relative; margin-left: 250px; margin-bottom: 100px; } img-a2 { float:left; z-index:-1; position:relative; margin-left: 400px; margin-bottom: 200px; } img-b2 { float:right; z-index:-1; position:relative; margin-left: 400px; margin-bottom: 200px; } The result of this is to produce something like the following, where ... is the text from div-a and ||| is the text from div-b: .....||||| .....||||| .. || .. || However, since the second div is placed immediately above the first div, none of the text in the second div can be selected, although it can be seen since there is just empty space, and a 1x1 px image above it. Is there a way to get the text from the lower div to be selectable, without making the upper div unselectable?

How to get the top keys from a hash by value

I have a hash that I sorted by values greatest to least. How would I go about getting the top 5? There was a post on here that talked about getting only one value. What is the easiest way to get a key with the highest value from a hash in Perl? I understand that so would lets say getting those values add them to an array and delete the element in the hash and then do the process again? Seems like there should be an easier way to do this then that though. how to make DIV show up on top of other Divs

I upload my code on jsFiddle, you can see it there. http://jsfiddle.net/SrT2U/2/ When you click on the link, the hidden FAQ section will show up, and it will push other divs down. But that is not what I want, I need all other divs stay where they are, and my hidden FAQ section just float on the top. Not sure how to do it. Not even sure if this should be done in HTML, CSS or jQuery.
