passing xml to a webservice

I have a simple web service that will have one method: DoTransactions(xlm) Now the reason that i am using XML as a parameter is due to the fact that the parameters will often change. So for example it could be: <payload> <userId>1234</userid> <partnerId>ptn654</partnerId> </payload> OR <payload> <partnerId>ptn654</partnerId> <items> <item1> <cost>10</cost> <description>This is item 1</description> </item1> </items> </payload> As you can see the XML string will always change (this is due to a client request) Would it be better to rather pass in a string and parse the XML in the method or should is there a better way to do it. This web service will be used for varios different code languages.

What am I doing wrong with my ItemsControl & databinding?

I'm reworking my simple hex editor to practice using what I've recently learned about data binding in WPF. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. As I understand it, for each byte in the collection "backend" (inherits from ObservableCollection), my ItemsControl should apply the DataTemplate under resources. This template is just a textbox with a binding to a value converter. So I'm expecting to see a row of textboxes, each containing a string representation of one byte. When I use this XAML, all I get is a single line of uneditable text, which as far as I can tell doesn't use a textbox. What am I doing wrong? Is there a selector or a work around to select any element with no children.

Looking at the CSS3 specs, I can't find any way to select any element that has no children. Let me explain. <body> <h1>Main Page</h1> <div id="main"> <div class="post"> <h2>Article 1</h1> <p>some text</p> </div> <div class="post"> <h2>Article 2</h1> <p>some text</p> </div> </div> </body> I'm looking for a CSS syntax to select the h1, the two h2 and the two p. A way to select in any page, all elements with no children. Any suggestion ? Sorry, I forgot to add the "empty" part, I am actually already using the *:empty selector, but it's not working for any tag that has a nodeText as a child. So it's working for any input, image, object, but not for h2, h1, or any p.

Updating the foreground of a label on window active property-WPF

I want to update the colour of the label on the IsActive property of the window using styles and triggers so that all the labels inheriting this style should exhibit the same property. After mysql_query, no result output

I have a simple mysql_query() update command to update mysql. When a user submits my form, it will jump to an update page to update the data. The problem is that there's supposed to be some data shown after the update, but it comes out blank. Jquery - Setting form select-field "selected" value only works after refresh

Hi, I want to use a form select-field for users to select their country of residence, which shows the IP based country as default value (plus the IP address next to it); Location info (ipinfodb.com) is working. I'm passing "country" and "ip" to the function, which should modify select-field and ip adress Problem: IP adress works, but the select-field only updates after I hit refresh. Selecting the correct input field using jquery

I'm trying to select the id's of dynamic input fields in my code. When clicking a button, the form will create a form field like this: <td><input type="text" id="field_a_1"></td> <td><input type="text" id="field_b_1"></td> <td><input type="text" id="field_c_1"></td> When I click on the button again I get this: <td><input type="text" id="field_a_2"></td> <td><input type="text" id="field_b_2"></td> <td><input type="text" id="field_c_2"></td> What I want to do is select only the field id that I need to pull the value from that particular input and pass it to a variable like this: var example = $(":input:eq(0)").val(); I know that by adding the :eq(0) after the :input selector it will only grab the id for field_a_1, so how do I set it up so that I can pull just the field that I need to assign it to a variable?

Hi all, I'm trying to apply some kind of limit on an asp:Repeater control, so that I can get only the first 5 results from repeating. The only suggested solution I have found is about limiting the sql statement results. In my case, this is not possible. I need to find some other kind of solution. Haskell type signature with multiple type somethings (predicates?, for example Eq a =>)

I'm not sure if type predicates is the right term, in fact I've never learned the word for this, so an edit to correct would be helpful - I'm referring to when you give the tipe of function f :: a -> b and you want to say a is a Eq and you say f :: Eq a => a -> b, the name for Eq a => - this is the thing i called a type predicate. My question, though, is how to have multiple of these, so if A is an Eq and B is a Num, I could say either f :: Eq a => a -> b or f :: Num b => a -> b. So, how can I have Eq a => and Num b => at the same time? f :: Eq a => Num b => a -> b, f :: Eq a -> Num b => a -> b, and f :: Eq a, Num b => a -> b all didn't do what I wanted.

There's a registration form that, for some reason, isn't posting the data to the DB. I used to have this buggy Paperclip config: class Photo < ActiveRecord::Base has_attached_file :image, :storage => :s3, :styles => { :medium => "600x600>", :small => "320x320>", :thumb => "100x100#" }, :s3_credentials => "#{RAILS_ROOT}/config/s3.yml", :path => "/:style/:filename" end This is buggy because two images cannot have the same size and filename. To fix this, I changed the config to: class Photo < ActiveRecord::Base has_attached_file :image, :storage => :s3, :styles => { :medium => "600x600>", :small => "320x320>", :thumb => "100x100#" }, :s3_credentials => "#{RAILS_ROOT}/config/s3.yml", :path => "/:style/:id_:filename" end Unfortunately this breaks all URLs to attachments I've already created. How can I update those file paths or otherwise get the URLs to work?

Then i want to for every node of type "element2" to find the node of type "child" that contains it.
