• encfs error while decoding the data

  I have installed encfs and started using it to secure all my personal & office data and it was working absolutely fine until 2 hours back. The setup is like this. I have a folder in Copy folder called OfficeData which gets synchronized with my Copy folder When I login into the system I use the command encfs ~/Copy/OfficeData ~/Documents/OfficeData Once my work is over I dismount with the command fusermount -u ~/Documents/OfficeData All this data get synchronized with my desktop and with my mobile phone (as a backup) Today when I mounted, the folder got mounted by no directories and files present in that folder. I was worried and read man encfs which gave me to run the command encfs -v -f ~/Copy/OfficeData ~/Documents/OfficeData 2> encfs-OfficeData-report.txt.   I've been researching eCommerce payment gateways and service offerings, but I'm an eCommerce novice, so please excuse my ignorance. I wish to set up an eCommerce solution with the following requirements: User "subscribes" to the service on a yearly basis. This service includes a single product subscription for a set amount (let's say $50/yr). User can "subscribe" to additional product services for a lesser rate per year (let's say $25/yr). I will need to store a product service unique Id of some sort for each product subscription the user subscribes to in order to show them product unique information. I also need to prevent duplicates...for example, user can subscribe to product ABC and XYZ, but not 2 of ABC. Is PayPal the best solution for something like this? Is there a better solution? Any assistance is greatly appreciated, even if just links to specific tutorials or examples. Update: It looks like Chargify could be the perfect solution.

  I have a large data set which I know contains many dupicate records. Basically I have data on first name, last name, different address components and date of birth. I think the best way to do this is to use the name and date of birth as chances are if these things match, it's the same person. There are probably lots of instances where there are slight differences in spelling (like typos missing a single letter) or use of name (ie: some might have a middle initial in first name column) which would be good to account for, but I'm not sure how to approach this. Are there any tools or articles on going about this process? The data is all in a MySQL database and I have a basic proficiency in SQL.

  In my AppDelegate I create an NSFetchedResultsController with sectionNameKeyPath set to @"group". In viewWillAppear in my TableViewController I performFetch, then call a method called findGroups. findGroups does some complicated analysis of the entire dataset to identify groups, then sets the "group" transient property on each object to the correct string value. I can see with NSLog that these are all set correctly and in coherent groups. But, tinker as I may, my cells are shown in a single section with the title of the first group. Any ideas?

  We have a business case that would be perfect for multiple BackgroundWorkers. As an example, we have a form with a "Save" button on it. Normally we would run all the save commands (Save is an example) synchronously and then close the form. We would like to now split the work onto separate threads using backgroundworker. We will loop through each "Save" required (could be many and/or different number of commands that need executing) creating a BackgroundWorker for each command required. The question is ... how do we wait for ALL the BackgroundWorkers to complete before we close the form. We understand how to wait for a single BackgroundWorker to complete but when we have X number of BackgroundWorkers operating, how do we wait until all are complete before closing the UI form?

  I have 2 related MySQL tables in a one to many relationship. Customers: cust_id, cust_name, cust_notes Orders: order_id, cust_id, order_comments So, if I do a standard join to get all customers and their orders via PHP, I return something like: Jack Black, jack's notes, comments about jack's 1st order Jack Black, jack's notes, comments about jack's 2nd order Simon Smith, simon's notes, comments about simon's 1st order Simon Smith, simon's notes, comments about simon's 2nd order The problem is that *cust_notes* is a text field and can be quite large (a couple of thousand words). So, it seems like returning that field for every order is inneficient. I could use *GROUP_CONCAT* and JOINS to return all *order_comments* on a single row BUT order_comments is a large text field too, so it seems like that could create a problem. Should I just use two separate queries, one for the customers table and one for the orders table? Is there a better way?

The Ops guys are saying that this messes up their disaster recovery plan because while the transactions on the live tables may commit at the same time, the log shipping on the separate databases happen at slightly different times. So in in a disaster recovery situation, there will be a few partial transactions. Is there a method for maintaining separate but synced databases in DR? Or do we have to re-design to relatively independent databases (or a single database)?

All these application though doing different works are integrated through a single sign on mode, which is handled by one main application. The main application is in classic ASP and verifies the userid and password initially and then stores the UserID in a session variable, which is then used by all other ASP and ASP.NET page as a valid Authenticated user. (For DOT NET pages we use session bridging) Is this how authentication is done is classic ASP? (I dont know classic ASP much) From the time I was introduced to this setup, I started to worry whether this setup is flawless? Is there any better way to handle the same ? Most things seem to be working, but every single GIT repo gives pretty much the same error fatal: object 03b45161eb27228914e690e032ca8009358e9588 is corrupted I have tried chowning, doing everything as sudo or root... • Can iTextSharp export to JPEG?

  I need to be able to export PDF's that I am creating to JPEG, so that users can have a screenshot/thumbnail of the end product, which is faster than opening the whole PDF. I am running this on an ASP.NET website running in Medium Trust in the Rackspace Mosso Cloud. I have yet to find a library that will either work in Medium trust, or in the case of ABC PDF, which works great locally, wont load in Mosso. Maybe Mosso has a custom trust level? I know that iTextSharp works on Mosso, but I haven't been able to figure how to "screenshot" a single page of a PDF, or export a page to JPEG. Is there anyone out there who has done this before?

  An alternative title might be: Check for existence of multiple rows? Using a combination of SQL and C# I want a method to return true if all products in a list exist in a table. If it can be done in all in SQL that would be preferable. I have written a method that returns whether a single productID exists using the following SQL: SELECT productID FROM Products WHERE ProductID = @productID If this returns a row, then the c# method returns true, false otherwise. Now I'm wondering if I have a list of product IDs (not a huge list mind you, normally under 20). How can I write a query that will return a row if all the product id's exist and no row if one or more product id's does not exist?   Let's say I have a table with usernames: Id | Name ----------- 1 | Bobby 20 | Bob 90 | Bob 100 | Joe-Bob 630 | Bobberino 820 | Bob Junior I want to return a list of n matches on name for 'Bob' where the resulting set first contains exact matches followed by similar matches. I thought something like this might work SELECT TOP 4 a.* FROM ( SELECT * from Usernames WHERE Name = 'Bob' UNION SELECT * from Usernames WHERE Name LIKE '%Bob%' ) AS a but there are two problems: It's an inefficient query since the sub-select could return many rows (looking at the execution plan shows a join happening before top) (Almost) more importantly, the exact match(es) will not appear first in the results since the resulting set appears to be ordered by primary key. I am looking for a query that will return (for TOP 4) Id | Name --------- 20 | Bob 90 | Bob (and then 2 results from the LIKE query, e.g. 1 Bobby and 100 Joe-Bob) Is this possible in a single query?

• AJAX binds jquery events multiple times

  Hi... I have a masterpage setup, with a pageLoad in the topmost masterpage, which calls pageLoad2 for nested masterpages which calls pageLoad3 for content pages. In my content page I have a jquery click event and in my nested masterpage I have a web user control. Whenever I use the user control in the nested masterpage, it rebinds the click event in the content page (undoubtedly because the pageLoad3 is called again), but this makes the click event fire twice on a single click. The problem gets worse the higher up masterpages you go (eg. fires 3 times if user control from topmost masterpage is called). Can anyone tell me how to make sure it only binds the jquery events once?

• Rendering formatted text in a direct3d application

  I need to render some formatted text (colours, different font sizes, underlines, bold, etc) however I'm not sure how to go about doing it. D3DXFont only allows text of a single font/size/weight/colour/etc to be rendered at once, and I cant see a practical way to "combine" multiple calls to ID3DXFont::DrawText to do such things... I looked around and there doesn't seem to be any existing libraries that do these things, but I have no idea how to implement such a text renderer, and I couldn't even find any documentation on how such a text render would work, only rendering simple fixed width, ASCII bitmap fonts which looking at it is probably an entirely different approach that is only suitable for rendering simple blocks of text where Unicode is not important. If there's no direct3d font renders capable of doing this, is there any other renderers (eg for use in rendering rich text in a normal window), and would rendering those to a texture in RAM, then uploading that to the video card to render onto the back buffer yield reasonable performance?

• Double title bar issue iPhone app

  I have noticed that whenever a phone call comes in while my app is in use (Or I simulate in-call status bar using the simulator), and the phone call ends, I end up with a double status bar in my app. The status bar goes away if I click any other tab and come back to the original tab (my app has a UITTabBar in it). I have tried so many options that I am losing track now. The most I have read are to set your UIView's size to be flexible in interface builder but nothing seems to work. Please look at the screenshots. I am pasting a default view of the sizing options in interface builder but believe me I have tried every single configuration option there.
