  • iframe height not taken into account by IE8

    Hi guys, I'm building a dummy widget for a iGoogle/Netvibes like portal. This is a "Google Maps" widget, as it only renders a map centered on a specific location. The widget looks good in all browsers but IE8, in which the height I specify to the <div> that contains the map is not taken into account. Here's the interesting part of the code: <body onload="initialize()" > <div id="map_canvas" style="height:400px; width: 100%;"></div> </body> I have no control on the portal, so the only thing I can modify is the widget itself. I also tried to set the height for the <body>, but same thing. Any idea on why it's not working in IE? Thanks!

    Hi, I have read the doc and some tutorials to get a .kml file working launching the google maps activity. When I hosted the file in a server, this works perfectly: Intent myIntent = new Intent( android.content.Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse("geo:0,0?q=http://somedomain.com/file.kml") ); Now, reading this link on how to use intents for gmaps with the developing stage of GEO uri I can't manage how to load a kml file from within the device, I have tried with "q=file:///path-to-file.kml" and with an absolute path too. Has anyone done this yet? PS: in IRC channel recommend me to use apps based on openstreetmaps, but the docs is much more poor than the gmaps doc althought they are OS.

Background Information: I am using a custom made fully C written high-performance heavily loaded webserver.

  • How to remove subviews to release more memory

    I have UIScrollView with number of subviews. Each subview is custom UIButton with UIImage. When I load more and more subviews, more and more memory is used. But I remove invisible subviews by removeFromSuperView method. Subviews are removed and stay invisible, but Im afraid that no memory is released. UIImage is image downloaded from internet. How can I add listeners such that each uses the value of i at the time I add it, rather than the reference to i?

    I've read all the answers on stackoverflow for similar questions but no one really laid down an explanation: why is zend/symfony/kohana/cakePHP the best for jQuery? what is the difference? I'm writing a snazzy ultra-cool web 2.0 app with google maps and facebook connect integration plus a bunch of other APIs. Almost everything will be AJAX vis JSON. For me PHP is a burden, an unnecessary evil. I need database control, almost always via JSON. I need user authentication. This is all. Nothing fancy. And I need it to scale. Most of all I need it to work effortlessly with jQuery, I need it to be jQuery's BFF, and I need to know why it is so. Thank you very much EDIT: The candidates right now are Yii, CodeIgniter and MongoDB.

    We have common library projects shared amongst many projects that are required to be checked out into a "Libraries" folder which a developer needs to checkout prior to opening the main project in visual studio. How I tell hudson that there is this dependency?     Google the phrase "Humans vs zombies" (just used for an example here, phrase doesn't matter). When you see the search results, put your fingers on the keyboard, and press tab until you get to the first result. It takes me over 10 tabs to get through the "images", "videos", "maps", "advanced search" and other links. (Do you get the same results?) How can I get it so pressing the tab key the first time takes me to the first link? I'm using FF 3.6. How might I be able to greasemonkey this?

    Hey all, what would be best practice for clipping the bottom borders of a Bitmap? Just manipulate the Bitmap itself or overlay an alpha mask drawable or ...? The whole story: I've a Listview which looks like the iPhone's grouped UITableView style. I would like to display a Bitmap in the last row, but for now the Bitmap overlaps my custom background drawable of the Listview cell. Thx in advance!
