  • Hibernate, select by id or unique column

    I am using hibernate for Java, and I want to be able to select users by id or by name from the database. Nice thing about Hibernate is that it caches the result by id, but I seem to be unable to make it cache by name. static Session openSession = Factory.openSession(); public static User GetUser(int Id) { return (User) openSession.get(User.class, new Integer(Id)); } public static User GetUser( String Name ){ return (User) openSession.createCriteria( User.class ). add( Restrictions.eq("username", Name) ). uniqueResult(); } If I use GetUser(1) many times, hibernate will only show that it executed the first time. But every time I use GetUser("user1"), hibernate shows that it is executing a new query to database. What would be the best way to have the string identifier be cached also?

  • Getting counts of 0 from a query with a double group by

    I'm trying to write a query that gets the counts for a table (call it item) categorized by two different things, call them type and code. What I'm hoping for as output is the following: Type Code Count 1 A 3 1 B 0 1 C 10 2 A 0 2 B 13 2 C 2 And so forth. Both type and code are found in lookup tables, and each item can have just one type but more than one code, so there's also a pivot (aka junction or join) table for the codes. I have a query that can get this result: Type Code Count 1 A 3 1 C 10 2 B 13 2 C 2 and it looks like (with join conditions omitted): SELECT typelookup.name, codelookup.name, COUNT(item.id) FROM typelookup LEFT OUTER JOIN item JOIN itemcodepivot RIGHT OUTER JOIN codelookup GROUP BY typelookup.name, codelookup.name Is there any way to alter this query to get the results I'm looking for? This is in MySQL, if that matters. I'm not actually sure this is possible all in one query, but if it is I'd really like to know how. Thanks for any ideas.

    I'm working with python 2.7, jinja2, flask and Highcharts. I create two numpy array (x1 and x2, type = numpy.dnarray) and I pass to Highcharts. My problems is, Highcharts don't recognize the commas in the vector. The question is how to add a new row without knowing next primary Id, or maybe there is a way to get this Id from the table with the help of another query ?

  • HTML/JS/CSS issue getting bigger by itself

    Here's the picture to begin with. I have this check box, that when you check, then with jQuery toggle(); it hides that you see in first half of the picture (#writeComment) and shows #SCtryVOTE (what you see in the other half picture, to the right). Now i dont know why but of some reason it expands when its checked, why i dont know, is it because it needs more place than it have or? how do i make this work without having problems when its checked.     Hi i have a gridview with information about documents: name, document type (policy, guidelines, forms, etc), category, etc. I want to sort the gridview alphabetically (name) and by document type, but always having the 'policy' above the other document types when document name is the same. How do I do that? eg If I do sort by DocumentName, DocumentType ('policy' maybe not be the first one in the list) but if I do sort by DocumentType , DocumentName (I would get for example all guidelines first in alphabetical order, then procedures, then policies, etc)

No matter what I do, the background is black/gray, the selected items have a blue border, and there is padding between the items in the listbox (i'm using images).     I'm having trouble getting a response back from a Jquery ajax call... (It's a script to authenticate a user, and needs to return their name and user ID. My understanding was that I could encode it as JSON and get the data in the format below. It is returning an error of "undefined" for the alert().     Hi guys, I have the following SQL query but it doesn't entirely work because it shows each element more than once. select c.name, c.director, c.title, count(c.title) as numfilms from casting c join casting c1 on c1.name = c.name Group by c.name, c.director, c.title Having count (c.title) > 1 order by numfilms So what it does it shows which actors have made more than 1 film. But unfortunately, this query shows each actor as many times as the number of movies he made. Using distinct doesn't work as actor may have been in different movie with same title and different director.
