I tried this: def squares = for ( count <- 1 to 10 ) yield { count * count }.mkString(", ") That fails to compile with this error message: error: value mkString is not a member of Int def squares = for ( count <- 1 to 10 ) yield { count * count }.mkString(", ") Shouldn't mkString be called on the collection returned by the for loop?

If I had the key for all the records in the table I could loop and use nHibernate's Get method (this seems inefficient though) but I don't have the keys. I could also use FindAll but this requires criteria or a stored procedure. How can I get all the records from the table?

  • jQuery .ajax doesn't load Google Adsense

    Hey Everyone, Just ran into an odd issue. I have a simple WP loop and instead of regular NEXT/BACK pages, I use a jQuery powered $.ajax get to append the following page to the current page. It works perfectly. However, I choose to insert a Google Adsense unit every 5th story. Unfortunately, the Adsense unit that is brought in with a second, third, or etc page load don't render.     I'm using Alberto Santini's solution to this question to get a spiral grid reference based on an items index Algorithm for iterating over an outward spiral on a discrete 2D grid from the origin It's not the accepted solution, but it's the best for my needs as it avoids using a loop. It's working well, but what I want now is to do the inverse. Based on a known x and y coordinate return the index of a location. This is as a precursor to returning the items surrounding a given location.

    Can this code be optimized or re-factored? Is this an optimal approach to tagging? The following code is a callback in my posts model. It creates a record that associates a tag with a post in a QuestionsTags joiner table. When necessary, if a given tag does not already exist in the tags table, the function creates it, then uses its id to create the new record in the QuestionsTags table. The difficulty with this approach is the QuestionsTags table depends on data in the tags table which may or may not exist. The function assumes the following tables: tags(id, tagName), posts(tags) // Comma delimited list questionsTags(postId, tagId) The idea is to loop over a delimited list of tags submitted with a post and check to see if each tag already exists in the tags table If tag exists: Check to see if there's already a QuestionTag record for this post and this tag in the QuestionTags table.     I'm making a site using divs. I have one across the top with a row of links which I want to change what's in the main window. I would prefer to keep strictly to PHP and HTML and use a full page refresh as I am comfortable with them at current, rather than using an Ajax refresh as I don't have any knowledge of Ajax. I don't want to use iframes. I thought the best way to do this would be as follows: <div id="top"> <a href="news.html">News</a> </div> <div id="main"> <?php include($page); ?> </div> What I need is a way of changing the $page variable upon clicking the link. If this means changing the variable and then reloading the page then so be it. A command following the logic of: <a href="news.html" action="<?php $page="news.html"; ?>">News</a> would be ideal! I thought about using a form, but it seems there should be an easier way.

A search done at Microsoft Visual C++ Developer Center doesn't give any results for "sizeOfInput". I am not a C/C++ expert, and am curious to find out why this happens - any C/C++ experts who can "shed some light" on this? Unrelated note: I seriously thought of rewriting the whole code to use quicksort or merge sort before posting it here. But, after all, it is not Stooge sort...

    Hello, I'm having some problems executing the tests of the application I'm developing. All the tests execute normally with ReSharper and in NCover. However, the execution of one of these tests in TeamCity is generating an error. This test initializes two objects, the object under test and a simulator of a real object. Both objects will communicate throug a serial link in a representation of the real scenario. ObjectSimulator r_simulator = new ObjectSimulator(...); ObjectDriver r_driver = new ObjectDriver(...); Assert.IsTrue(r_driver.Connect() == ErrorCode.Success); The simulator just do the following in the constructor public class ObjectSimulator { ... public ObjectSimulator() { // serial port configuration m_port = new SerialPort(); m_port.DataReceived += DataReceivedEvent; } ... } The main object has two threads. The main thread of the application and a timer to refresh a watchdog timer in the real object. public ErrorCode Connect() { ... StartSynchroTimer(); Thread.Sleep(4); // to check if the timer is working properly ... } The problem seems to be comming from the Thread.Sleep() call, as when I remove it everything works. The ObjectSimulator somehow doesn't execute the DataReceived event callback. How can I resolve this issue?
