  • How VerticalOffset changes when Scrollable height changes while having list inside a list

    I am making a WP7 app which has a Listbox of UserControls. Each UserControl has an ItemsControl and Button(for getting more results). On click of the button the ItemsControl items will be increased by 5 or 10. Now on clicking on the GetMore button of any of the usercontrols except the first or last, there will be an increase in Scrollable height(Total height of the listbox) of the ListBox but the VerticalOffset(position of scrollbar from top) of the ListBox remains same. Now the problem I am facing is that the Vertical Offset is not absolute but relative to Scrollable Height. So the content being viewed till then will be changed basing on the new value of ScollableHeight. I want to know the relation between them, so that I can do some math and set the VerticalOffset value. I have added some dependency properties on VerticalOffset and ScrollableHeight through which I can get the events when any of them is changed. Also trying to use them to readjust the VerticalOffset. Any suggestions or corrections are highly appreciated.

    Hello, I'm not sure how to explain this without writing several pages so I hope the actual code is more expressive. I've made a jar containing multiple annotation declaration similar to the following: @Target(ElementType.PACKAGE) @Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) public @interface MarkedPackage { } then I have made a test jar containing several classes in several packages and marked just one package with the above annotation (with package-info.java) like below: @myPackage.MarkedPackage package package.test.jar; this jar had in its build path the jar containing the annotations. then I made a static class that has a method (LoadPlugins) that retrieves a list with all the jars of a directory. Then it searches through the jars for the 'package-info' class and checks if that classes package contains the MarkedPackage annotation. by calling this: if (checkPackageAnnotation(thisClass.getPackage())) where thisClass is the package-info class retrieved via a classloader. and: public static boolean checkPackageAnnotation(AnnotatedElement elem) { System.out.println(elem.getAnnotations().length); if (elem == null || !elem.isAnnotationPresent(MarkedPackage.class)) return false; return true; } the elem.getAnnotatios().length is there for debug purposes. And the problem appears when I call the method from the static class: if I call it from a main function: public class MyMain { public static void main(String[] args){ PluginUtils.LoadPlugins(); } } everything works perfectly it displays '1' from that System.out.println(elem.getAnnotations().length); But if I call it from a button from my Vaadin project: header.addComponent(new Button("CallThat", new Button.ClickListener() { public void buttonClick(ClickEvent event) { PluginUtils.LoadPlugins(); } })); It displays '0' from that System.out.println(elem.getAnnotations().length); Also I should mention that I created the main inside my Vaadin project so it would have the exact same build path and resources. Is there a problem with web applications and that "@Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME)" ? hope I was clear enough... Hope someone has a solution for me... If you need more information - let me know.   • www-data mkdir - Permission denied after update

    I updated my server from lenny to squeeze and Ispconfig. I got everything back in place except a right problems. if i us "mkdir" with php i get : permission denied. whoami return : "www-data" File owner are like before (for example web54:client4), same for directory Ftp user work fine, create new file and edit file with the same right (web54:client4) I don't understand why it does'nt work in php and I don't have any idea where to look now ?   • Set value of hidden field in a form using jQuery's ".val()" doesn't work !

    I've been trying to set the value of a hidden field in a form using jQuery, but without success. Here is a sample code that explains the problem. If I keep the input type to "text", it works without any trouble. I tried checking if it at least works and changed Theme.NoBarBlack in values (for android <3.0) and its value the same as Theme.NoBar and then when I pressed button font wasn't changed -as it should do.

    Hello, I am trying to come to a working understanding of how databinding works, but even after several tutorials I only have a basic understanding of how databinding works. Thus this question might seem fundamental to those more familiar with silverlight. Even if it is trivial, please point me to some tutorial that deals with this problem. All that I could find simply solved this via adding the data binding on a parent page.xaml (that i must not use in my case). For the sake of this example let us assume, that we have 5 files: starter.cs button1.xaml + codeBehind button2.xaml + codeBehind The two buttons are generated in code in the starter(.cs) file, and then added to some MapLayer button1 my_button1 = new button1(); button2 my_button1 = new button2(); someLayer.Children.Add(my_button1); someLayer.Children.Add(my_button2); My aim is to connect the two buttons, so that they always display the same "text" (i.e. my_button1.content==my_button2.content = true;). Thus when something changes my_button1.content this change should be propagated to the other button (two way binding). At the moment my button1.xaml looks like this: <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <Button x:Name="x_button1" Margin="0,0,0,0" Content="{Binding ElementName=x_button2, Path=Content}" ClickMode="Press" Click="button1_Click"/> </Grid> But everthing that i get out of that is a button with no content at all, it is just blank as the binding silently fails. How could I create the databinding in the context I described? Preferably in code and not XAML ;) Thanks in advance

  • .net user control event handler lost on postback

    I have a menu usercontrol called LeftMenu that has a bulletedlist of linkitems. It's on the ascx page as such: <asp:BulletedList ID="PublisherList" DisplayMode="LinkButton" OnClick="PublisherList_Click" cssClass="Menu" runat="server"></asp:BulletedList> I databind the list in the page_load under if(!isPostBack) I'm having an issue on a page that loads the control. When the page first loads, the event handler fires. However, when the page posts back it no longer fires and in IE8, when I'm debugging, I get "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected" in Visual Studio pointing at "doPostBack('LeftMenu$PublisherList','0')." In FF I don't get the error, but nothing happens. I'm **not loading the control dynamically, it's loaded on the aspx page using: <%@ Register TagPrefix="Standards" TagName="LeftMenu" Src="LeftMenu.ascx" %> <Standards:LeftMenu ID="LeftMenu" runat="server"/> Any ideas of where I'm losing the event handler? I just realized this is happening on another user control I have as well. A text box and a button and I'm using the default button to make sure pressing the enter key uses that button. .Net converts that in the html to: <div id="SearchBarInclude_SearchBar" onkeypress="javascript:return WebForm_FireDefaultButton(event, 'SearchBarInclude_QuickSearchButton')"> so as soon as i enter a key in the box I get a javascript error at the line saying "object expected." It seems like the two issues are related. Edit Again: I think I need to clarify. It's not that I'm clicking on the menu item and it can't find the selected item on postback. I have this search page with the left navigation on it and then the main content of the page is something that causes a postback. Everything is fine with this postback. Once that page has been posted back, now if I click on the bulleted list in the left navigation I get a javascript error and it fails. The page_init for the LeftMenu control is never called.

    I have a USER that creates a COMPANY and become an EMPLOYEE in the process. The employees table has an :user_id and a :company_id. class User has_many :employees has_many :companies, :through => :employees class Employee belongs_to :user belongs_to :company attr_accessible :active class Company has_many :employees has_many :users, :through => employees Pretty basic. But here's the thing, the resource EMPLOYEE has other attributes than its foreign keys, like the boolean :active. I would like to use attr_accessible, but this causes some problems. The attribute :user_id is set right, but :company_id is nil. @user.companies << Company.new(...) Employee id:1 user_id:1 company_id:nil So my question is: if :user_id is set right, despite it is not an attr_accessible, why :company_id isn't set right just the same? It shouldn't be an attr_accessible. I'm using Rails 3.0.8, and have also tested with 3.0.7.

  • Wizard style navigation, dismissing a view and showing another one

    I'm making a set of screens similar to a wizard and I'd like to know how to make a view dismiss itself and its parent view and immediately show a 'DoneScreen' without worrying about resource leaks. My views look like the following: Base -> Level1 -> DoneScreen -> Level2 -> DoneScreen The Level1 controller is a navigation controller created with a view.xib and shown with [self presentModalViewController ...] by the Base controller. The Level1 controller is also responsible for creating the 'DoneScreen' which may be shown instead of the Level2 Screen based on a certain criteria. When the user taps a button on the screen, the Level1 controller instantiates the the Level2 controller and it displays it via [self.navigationController pushViewController ..] and Level2 controller's view has a 'Next' button. When the use hits the 'Next' button in the Level2 screen, I need to dismiss the current Level2's view as well as the Level1's view and display the 'DoneScreen', which would have been created and passed in to the Level2 controller from Level1. (partly to reduce code duplication, and partly to separate responsibilities among the controllers) In the Level2 controller, if I show the 'DoneScreen' first and dismiss itself with [self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:YES]; then the Level1 controller's modal view is still present above the 'Base' but under the Done screen. What's a good way to clear out all of these views except the Base and then show the 'DoneScreen'? Any good suggestions on how to get this done in a simple but elegant manner?

  • Is it possible to do A/B testing by page rather than by individual?

    Lets say I have a simple ecommerce site that sells 100 different t-shirt designs. I want to do some a/b testing to optimise my sales. Let's say I want to test two different "buy" buttons. Normally, I would use AB testing to randomly assign each visitor to see button A or button B (and try to ensure that that the user experience is consistent by storing that assignment in session, cookies etc). Would it be possible to take a different approach and instead, randomly assign each of my 100 designs to use button A or B, and measure the conversion rate as (number of sales of design n) / (pageviews of design n) This approach would seem to have some advantages; I would not have to worry about keeping the user experience consistent - a given page (e.g. www.example.com/viewdesign?id=6) would always return the same html. If I were to test different prices, it would be far less distressing to the user to see different prices for different designs than different prices for the same design on different computers. I also wonder whether it might be better for SEO - my suspicion is that Google would "prefer" that it always sees the same html when crawling a page. Obviously this approach would only be suitable for a limited number of sites; I was just wondering if anyone has tried it?

  • .NET Application using a native DLL (build management)

    I have a .NET app that is dependent on a native DLL. I have the .NET app set as AnyCPU. In the post-build step, I plan to copy the correct native DLL from some directory (x86 or AMD64) and place it in the target path. However, this doesn't work. On a 64-bit machine, the environment variable PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is "x86" in Visual Studio. My alternative right now is to create a small tool that outputs the processor architecture. This will be used by the post-build step. Is there a better alternative? (Side Note: when deploying/packaging the app, the right native DLL is copied to the right platform. But this means we have two separate release folders for x86 and AMD64, which is OK since this is for a device driver. The app is a utility tool for the driver).

Unfortunately, this month we're using a printer that wants an un-booked PDF -- with one page per page, in the right order. I can re-order pages easily enough, but is there any way to take a PDF which is essentially 2-up and split the pages?

  • PendingIntents in Notifications

    I would like to show a notification that displays the progress of an ongoing operation. That works well for me. But at the same time the remote view should contain cancel button to stop the ongoing operation. The usual content intent should still do something else, i.e. not cancel the ongoing operation. It seems though that I can only have one intent. I have to specify a contentIntent that is launched when clicking on the notification: If I don't specify that I get something along those lines: E/ActivityManager( 62): Activity Manager Crash E/ActivityManager( 62): java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: contentIntent required ... For the "cancel" button I set another intent: Intent cancelSyncIntent = new Intent("com.xyz.CANCEL_SYNC"); contentView.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.cancel_sync, PendingIntent.getBroadcast(context, 0, cancelSyncIntent, 0)); But this never works. I always get the content intent when the button is clicked. It looks like I cannot use buttons in remote views of notifications?! I could probably display a text: "<< Press to cancel operation ", but that seems rather heavy handed.

  • Code coordinates to match compass bearings

    Right now in Matlab (0,0) is the origin, 0 degrees / 2pi would be to the right of the cartesian plane and angles are measured counter clockwise with 90 degrees being at the top. I'm trying to write a simulator where the coordinates would match a compass bearing. 0/360 degrees or 2pi would be at the top and 90 degrees would be on the right. Any idea how to code in Matlab or c++? I'd imaging it'd be a matrix flipped about the x axis and rotated 90 degrees but I'm at a total loss. Phil

    Yo. There's a tendency in placing divs to follow each other vertically, but what i'm trying to accomplish right now is to is basically to place a number of divs (two) inside a parent div like so: <div id='parent'><div id='onediv'></div> <div id='anotherone'></div> </div> And i'd like to place 'anotherone' just to the right of 'onediv'. Sadly, float:right is pretty much ruining the layout with the divs popping out of their parent divs and whatnot. Any suggestions are welcome. Edit: It might be worth noting that the parent div and 'anotherone' has no height elements at all, with 'onediv' planned to be thought as the "height support" div, allowing the contents of 'anotherone' to make the parent div larger at will.

  • Why am I having this InstantiationException in Java when accessing final local variables?

    I was playing with some code to make a "closure like" construct ( not working btw ) Everything looked fine but when I tried to access a final local variable in the code, the exception InstantiationException is thrown. If I remove the access to the local variable either by removing it altogether or by making it class attribute instead, no exception happens. The doc says: InstantiationException Thrown when an application tries to create an instance of a class using the newInstance method in class Class, but the specified class object cannot be instantiated. The instantiation can fail for a variety of reasons including but not limited to: - the class object represents an abstract class, an interface, an array class, a primitive type, or void - the class has no nullary constructor What other reason could have caused this problem?     Hi I have object created using jquery where each object has it's own binding. function closeButton(oAny){ var div = create_div(); $(div).attr("id","btn_"+$(oAny).attr("id")); var my_parent = this; $(div).html("<img src='"+ my_parent._base_url +"/assets/images/close.gif'>"); $(div).click(function(){ alert("do some action here"); }); return div; } var MyObject = WindowObject(); var btn = closeButton(MyObject); $(myobject).append(btn); $("body").append(myobject); //at this point button will work as i expected //save to array for future use ObjectCollections[0] = myobject; //remove $(myobject).remove(); $(body).append(ObjectCollections[0]); // at this point button will not work For the first time i can show my object and close button is working as i expected. But if i save myobject to any variable for future use. It will loose its binding. Anybody ever try to do this ? Is there any work around ? or It is definitely a bad idea ? .And thanks for answering my question.
