  Hi all, I want to have Dictionary that would be 'Observable' in order to throw events when its item changing.(Remove or Add). In other class I created such dictionary and set Binding to ListBox.ItemsSourseProperty. The Binding work well. I can see the items. But something wrong. the event 'PropertyChanged' always null. Can anyone help? • Prefered method for looping sound flash as3

  Hi there, I'm having some issues with looping a sound in flash AS3, in that when I tell the sound to loop I get a slight delay at the end/beginning of the audio. The audio is clipped correctly and will play without a gap on garage band. I know that there are issues with sound in general in flash, bugs with encodings and the inaccuracies with the SOUND_COMPLETE event (And Adobe should be embarrassed with their handling of these issues) I have tried to use the built in loop argument in the play method on the Sound class and also react on the SOUND_COMPLETE event, but both cause a delay. But has anyone come up with a technique for looping a sound without any noticeable gap?

  I'm using imagebuttons that play sounds using SoundPool. • Shutting down a WPF application from App.xaml.cs

  I am currently writing a WPF application which does command-line argument handling in App.xaml.cs (which is necessary because the Startup event seems to be the recommended way of getting at those arguments). Based on the arguments I want to exit the program at that point already which, as far as I know, should be done in WPF with Application.Current.Shutdown() or in this case (as I am in the current application object) probably also just this.Shutdown(). The only problem is that this doesn't seem to work right. I've stepped through with the debugger and code after the Shutdown() line still gets executed which leads to errors afterwards in the method, since I expected the application not to live that long. Also the main window (declared in the StartupUri attribute in XAML) still gets loaded. I've checked the documentation of that method and found nothing in the remarks that tell me that I shouldn't use it during Application.Startup or Application at all. So, what is the right way to exit the program at that point, i. e. the Startup event handler in an Application object?

• Strange behaviour when posting CGEvent to PSN

  If I set up a loop that posts some keyboard events to a PSN, I find that it works fine except for when first launched. The event only seems to post when i do something with the mouse manually - even just moving it slightly. Here's the details, if they help. An external application has a list box of text lines, which I am reading by posting copy commands (and checking the pasteboard). Unfortunately this is my only way to get this text. Sometimes, the application pulls focus away from the list, which I can detect. When this happens, the most reliable way to return focus is by sending a mouse event to click on a text field directly above the list, then send a 'tab' keyboard event to shift the focus onto the list. So at launch, the loop runs fine, scrolling down the list and copying the text. When focus is shifted away, its is detected fine, and the events are sent to move focus back to the list. But nothing seems to happen. The loop continues detecting that focus has changed, but the events only work once I move the mouse. Or even just use the scroll wheel. Strange. Once this has happened the first time, it works fine - each time focus moves, the PSN events switch it back without me having to do anything at all. • addEventListener gone after appending innerHTML

  Okay, so i have the following html added to a site using javascript/greasemonkey. (just sample) *a id='abc'*HEllo*/a* *a id='xyz'*Hello*/a* (excuse me, i've had to replace the '<' '' with * since hyperlinks for new users aren't allowed!) and i've also added a click event listener for the elements. All works fine up to this point, the click event gets fired when i click the element. But... i have another function in the script, which upon a certain condition, modifies that html, ie it appends it, so it looks like: *a id='abc'*HEllo*/a* *a id='xyz'*Hello*/a* *a id='123'*Hello*/a* but when this is done, it breaks the listeners i added for the first two elements... nothing happens when i click them. if i comment out the call to the function which does the appending, it all starts working again! help please...

  Hi, I have just started learning Scala and I'm now wondering how I could implement two different Java interfaces with one Scala class? Let's say I have the following interfaces written in Java public interface EventRecorder { public void abstract record(Event event); } public interface TransactionCapable { public void abstract commit(); } But a Scala class can extend only one class at a time. How can I have a Scala class that could fulfill both contracts? Do I have to map those interfaces into traits? Note, my Scala classes would be used from Java as I am trying to inject new functionality written in Scala into an existing Java application. And the existing framework expects that both interface contracts are fulfilled.

  I'm making a typing tutor program using javascript. Everything is going well except that if activates browser hotkeys which disrupts the functionality of the program. When I press the single quote in Firefox it triggers "Quick find (links only)" short cut and in all browsers when I press space the page scrolls down a page. Everything is working fine outside of this.   Hi, Basically I have an svg "SecondSVG" into an svg "FirstSVG" into an svg "MainSVG".Every svg has its own ViewBox. This page can be loaded anywhere on the screen by another page. So basically how can i find the screen x for viewBox for"SecondSVG" knowing that this svg can be loaded basically anywhere based on the calling page? event.clientX gives myself the x coordinate for the screen. If I don't know the coordinate for ViewBox of "SecondSVG" then how can I find out the x coordinate inside the ViewBox of "SecondSVG"? I am using Firefox 3.6.3 and I do have an event object from which I can extract clientX, clientY and other coordinates that are relative to the screen. However what I need are the coordinates inside the ViewBox.

• MouseLeftButtonDown not recognized by a ListBox ??

  Hello everybody, I'm encountering a huge problem, I have tried everything I could, but I didn't find any solution. I have a listBox, with a DataTemplate. I want to use the events MouseLeftButtonDown and MouseLeftButtonUp to check the item selected is the same the user clicked on. The problem is the event MouseLeftButtonUp is recognized but not the event MouseLeftButtonDown. • Flash Buttons Don't Work: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null objec

  I've read through several threads about this error, but haven't been able to apply it to figure out my situation... My flash file is an approx 5 second animation. Then, the last keyframe of each layer (frame #133) has a button in it. My flash file should stop on this last key frame, and you should be able to click on any of the 6 buttons to navigate to another html page in my website. The test movie does stop on the appropriate frame, but the buttons don't do anything (no URL is opened, and the trace statements don't show up in the output box when the buttons are clicked on the test movie). You can view the .swf file here: www.footprintsfamilyphoto.com/portfolio I'm confident that all 6 buttons do exist in the appropriate frame (frame 133), so I don't think that's what's causing the 1009 error. I also tried deleting each of the three function/addEventListener sections one at a time and testing, and I still got the 1009 error every time. If I delete ALL of the action script except for the "stop ()" line, then I do NOT get the 1009 error. Any ideas?? I'm very new to Flash, so if I haven't clarified something that I need to, let me know!

• C# progress bar not synced with download (WebClient class)

  Hi, I am coding a system which has a small FTP module included inside, it's not the main feature at all, but needed... I must link the progressbar with the WebClient class event DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler and AsyncCompletedEventHandler, the progressbar increment is ok, and the ASyncCompletedEventHandler launch a MessageBox (as intended), the problem is that the progress bar see to load too slow... problem : My MessageBox pop at 100% (launched by the event handler), BUT when the MessageBox pop my progress bar is only at +-80% (but the .VALUE is really 100), the first though I had was that they have added a "smooth" effect in Windows Vista which slow down the progressbar relatively to it's true value. If any of you have experienced the same problem thanks for your help.

• Is there a way to put Setter elements inside EventTrigger?

  Working on a WPF application, I started working on a custom ControlTemplate. I reached the point where I need to change some control properties when an event occurs. For this purpose, there are Setter elements. Seems all good, but I cannot use them inside EventTrigger elements. For example, if a simple Trigger, that can be bound to control properties, is used then Setter elements can be used inside. However, I do not want to bind to a property change but rather to an event. Is there a way to do this in pure XAML or will I have to work in the code-behind?

• Databinding multiple tables linq query to gridview?

  My question is how can I display a linq query in a gridview that has data from multiple tables AND allow the user to edit some of the fields or delete the data from a single table? I'd like to do this with either a linqdatasource or a linq query. I'm aware I can set the e.Result to the query on the selecting event. I've also been able to build a custom databound control for displaying the linq relations (parent.child). However, I'm not sure how I can make this work with delete? I'm thinking I may need to handle the delete event with custom code.

  I have several schemas in my database, and the largest one ("large" meaning disk space consumed) is my "web" schema which is a denormalized copy of data in the operational schemas. This denormalized data is able to be reconstructed at anytime, and is merely there for extremely fast read purposes. Since the data is redundant, and VERY large - I'd like to exclude it from being backed up. I already have stored procedures that can regenerate all of the data in that schema in a couple of hours - for use in the event of a failure. I assume I can split the tables in this schema out to another data file or such (ideally even on another drive for faster reads), but is there a way to never have that data file backup, yet still in the event of a failure its structure could be restored (and other DDL stuff like procs, views, etc)? Somewhat related, can I also have these tables not do transaction logging, if I go to "Full" backup mode for the rest of the database?

  Have a few questions related to adding sounds to my game, specifically intro music (for splash), background music (loop) and button event sounds. Hope you can share your knowledge on this. 1) Should I use compressed sounds or uncompressed sounds? Or perhaps a combination of the two? Are there any limitations on the iPhone hardware that I should be aware of -- for example, the ability to play multiple compressed sounds? 2) What's the best audio format for my purpose? 3) For background music, I am thinking of using AVAudioPlayer. I'm using BeginRead and EndRead, but when the parent form handles the event, it's not running on the UI thread. I do I need to use delegates and pass the context into the callback? • serial port close hangs in compact frame work 3.5

  I have developed the application for windows mobile 5.0 and .net compact framework 2.0 sp2. This application communicates to the hardware device using serial port. This application works fine in windows mobile 5.0 based PDAs. I have handled data received event to get the data from serial port. But when I run my application on windows mobile 6.1 and .net compact framework 3.5, my application hangs on serial port close API call. There are many workarounds mentioned in the .net compact framework blog like (closing the com port on different thread, opening the port in the beginning of the application and close once application exists, polling for data instead of event handling), but nothing is working consistently.

  I'm trying to use RTTI to add an event handler to a control, that may already have an event handler set. It says E2010 Incompatible types: 'procedure, untyped pointer or untyped parameter' and 'TNotifyEvent' Anyone know why that is or how to fix it? It looks right to me...
