  I want to show image in a crystal report. Scenario is something like this. I have a database where my path of an image is persisting. eg ftp://Images/1.jpg Now i want to repeat this image in a crystal report. When i fills my datatable it shows me complete url. When i displays this field in GridView i uses imageBox to display my image and it works for me very fine. But when i tries to do the same with crystal reports, it starts me showing image path as it is. Now here instead of path i want an image to be displayed.

  Hi there, I am having an issue with Zend_Form and your help will be appreciated. in fact I have a class to generate categories as options $categories = My_Util_Category::toHtmlSelect();//for simplicity I removed other lines this code generates <select> <option > root</option> <option> root / children</option> </select> On another hand, I use Zend_Form form to edit categories. The code looks like: $form = My_Form_Category( $data, $selectElements = array() ); which outputs a form, text field, a select box for parent categories and a submit button. How can I get 'select element' from $form, and replace it with row html 'select' generated with $categories any help, or link will be appreciated. Thanks.

If I let other required fields empty then the message is displayed. Else, if this is the only field with an error, the message doesn`t get displayed. I want it to display the message and not save the form values.

• An event for when xVal validation fails?

  I have a registration form leveraging xVal to handle all validation on the form. It works really well, with one exception: the user doesn't get feedback because another element on the page (a tip telling the user that their username will be their email address) draws on top of the span element xVal spits out when it notices a problem. If I had a way to detect when xVal has a problem with the email field, I could just toggle the visibility of that tooltip and be on my way, but I'm not sure how to do so. I know that xVal uses jquery.validate.js under the hood; is there an event or something I could tie into to do this?

• Search database with textbox/button, display record in detailsview and update fields

  Hello, I am trying to do all on one page. There are 3 textboxes and 3 buttons, one sqldatasource and one detailsview. Sqidatasource is configured to take parameters from textboxes and ingnore blank textboxes to be able to search by one (any) field at the time. When I do "test query" in sqldatasource - everything is working. Deatailsview is set to have sqldatasoure as datasourse. On each button I do detailsview.databind() but nothing is showing up. Need help, thank you.

  I am trying to get a value from the meta data that is stored in the wp_signups table for a Wordpress MU / BuddyPress installation. I see it's stored in the meta field as s:3:"age";s:2:"25"; ...which is age = 25 I put the information there using $usermeta['age'] = $_POST['signup_age']; in a plugin subscribing the the bp_signup_usermeta filter. I need to get it back during a function subscribing to bp_before_activate_content. How can I do this? Whats the function call? (searched documentation to no avail)

• Drupal using views with CCK custom fields

  I've got a Drupal site which uses a custom field for a certain type of node (person_id) which corresponds to a particular user. I want to create a view so that when logged in, a user can see a list of nodes 'tagged' with their person_id. I've got the view working fine, with a url of my-library/username but replacing username with a different username shows a list of all nodes tagged with that user. What I want to do is stop users changing the URL and seeing other users' tagged nodes. How can I do this? Is there somewhere where I can dictate that the only valid argument for this page is the one that corresponds with the current logged in user's username?

It surprised me I had never heard about this, so I was wondering what other open source alternatives exist for mainstream websites? I am not asking about forums, eCommerce, wiki's, CMS's, etc, where the market leaders are already well known open source applications (phpBB, osCommerce, Mediawiki, Drupal). But what about open source alternatives for: Social networking (Facebook)? Classified advertising (Craigslist)? Jobs (CareerBuilder)? Dating (eHarmony)? Or any other field that is defined by a commercial website, as Twitter does for microblogging.

• Server database -> client database update based on version

  Hi, What is the recommended method of collecting items in a server database, versioning the database then deploying only the version differences to a client ? Should it by a field in the table (ie. Version: 3.3.9876) against each record ? Should it be DateTime (server based) in each record ? And whats the best way to just deploy the changes to a client with an older version of the database ? Is it a DUMP to a file with a Bulk import of some description ? Open to comments.. Suggestions. Database can be anything (firebird, mysql, sqlserver, sqlite)... Any info greatly appreciated.

  Hi, I'm playing around with Lucene and noticed that the use of a hyphen (e.g. "semi-final") will result in two words ("semi" and "final" in the index. How is this supposed to match if the users searches for "semifinal", in one word? Edit: I'm just playing around with the StandardTokenizer class actually, maybe that is why? Am I missing a filter? Thanks!   Hello, is this a valid JQuery usage pattern to : <script type="text/javascript"> $("body").prepend('<input type="hidden" id="error" value="show">'); </script> That is using Jquery to manipulate / insert HTML Tags when the Document has NOT YET been loaded (by not using document.ready for the inserting into the DOM)? (Normally I only use document.ready, but in this case I need to insert some Information into the DOM that then is present, when document.ready is called. This is some kind of "happens-before" relations ship I want to achieve so that I am shure when document.ready is called the inserted Form field is available in the document, as I depend on that information. • Storing index values in FAST-ESP without modifications

  Hi, first of all I'm totally new to FAST but I already have a couple of issues I need to solve, so I'm sorry if my questions are very basic =) Well, the problem is that I have a field in the FAST index which in the source document is something like "ABC 12345" (please note the intentional whitespaces) but when stored in the index is in the form "ABC 123456" (please note that now there is a single space). If I retrieve all the document values then this specific value is OK (with all the whitespaces), my only problem is with the way the value is stored in the index since I need to retrieve and display it to my user just like it appears in the original document, and I don't want to go to the full document just for this value, I want the value that I already have in the index. I think I need to update one of the FAST XML configuration files but I don't have enough documentation at hand in order to decide where to perform the change, index_profile.xml? in the XMLMapper file?

• Django, ModelForms, User and UserProfile - not hashing password

  I'm trying to setup a User - UserProfile relationship, display the form and save the data. When submitted, the data is saved, except the password field doesn't get hashed. Additionally, how can I remove the help_text from the username and password (inherited from the User model)? Full code is below, excuse me if it's too long. • Override delete behaviour in NHibernate

  Hi all In my application users cannot truly delete records. Rather, the record's Deleted field gets set to 1, which hides it from selects. I need to maintain this behaviour and I'm looking into whether NHibernate is appropriate for my app. Can I override NHibnernate's delete behaviour so that instead of issuing DELETE statements, it issues UPDATES, as described above? I would obviously also need to override its SELECT behaviour to include the 'AND Deleted = 0' clause. Or read from a view instead. I dunno. TIA for your advice. David

• Where to delete model image?

  I have a Model with an image field and I want to be able to change the image using a ModelForm. When changing the image, the old image should be deleted and replaced by the new image. I have tried to do this in the clean method of the ModelForm like this: def clean(self): cleaned_data = super(ModelForm, self).clean() old_profile_image = self.instance.image if old_profile_image: old_profile_image.delete(save=False) return cleaned_data This works fine unless the file indicated by the user is not correct (for example if its not an image), which result in the image being deleted without any new images being saved. I would like to know where is the best place to delete the old image? By this I mean where can I be sure that the new image is correct before deleting the old one?

• Facebook RESTful API require_login() callback

  Hi, I'm trying to authenticate a user through the RESTful API (not Connect) but I can't since the callback system does not work for me. I have a local app that creates the Facebook API object with my key and secret, then calls the Facebook API require_login() method; I am sent to Facebook login, I login, and then I am sent to http://www.facebook.com/login.php?auth_token=<...>, where there's another login with just a field for password (not username), I write it again, and after that I am redirected to normal Facebook home. What am I doing wrong? I have set the callback URL in the Facebook app proprieties. Does it have anything to do with the fact that it's localhost? Thanks!

• How can I play my MP3 files through my stereo system?

  Here's the situation. Like many others I have my entire CD collection ripped to my PC, along side other music I've acquired through iTunes or Amazon MP3. Also like many others the speakers at my PC are underpowered, and likely included in my monitor as an afterthought. This is fine for most use: system sounds, YouTube, etc. Even games sounds and music. But I'd like something a little better for when I really want to listen to music. And I have it; in the next room — barely 25 feet away as the crow flies — sits a nice 400 watts stereo system. The stereo supports MP3 CDs, so up to this point I've just kept a few CD-RW disks around to keep most of my collection available. But it's time to move on to something a little more sophisticated. What are my options for using the MP3 files available on my computer as an input for this stereo? Some notes: I want to be able to control what song the stereo is playing without having to go to the PC, including setting up and retrieving playlists. Ideally this should even be able to wake the PC from sleep mode to start playing. I primarily use Windows Media Player on the PC (which runs Windows Vista). However, the files themselves live on a server running Windows Server 2008, and so I could also install something on the server and run everything from there. The axillary input on the stereo is unfortunately limited to a 1/8 inch stereo mini-plug. I'm loath to run wires across two rooms, and I'm considering moving the stereo to the garage at some point. Therefore a wireless solution that can easily cover about 100 ft or so is preferred. I already have a Wi-Fi network ready, but it's secured so anything using Wi-Fi should make it easy to set up security. Bonus points for doing it in under $85 shipped at Amazon (I'm hoping to pay for this via $85 worth of Amazon gift cards). I know this a pretty tight budget, so just getting close is okay. Bonus points for something that remembers multiple profiles (keep my favorite songs separate from the wife's). Bonus points for a remote that can also replace my stereo remote, so I only need one device to control everything. I'm not holding my breath on this one given my price range, though. Bonus points if I can also use for Internet radio. Doing some research on my own as well. • Flash CS4/AS3 Dynamic Text Box

  Hi, I have created a XML image gallery, which displays text in between each slide. Now I have created a movie clip with a dynamic text field (with Render HTML selected) to display the text from the XML which is pushed into an array. Now, this all works great BUT... /n or /r is not creating a new line break (as they need to be custom). Yet if I create an Array and manually push strings "Bla bla bla /n bla bla bla" I get a line break. I have tried converting the Array item to string (even though it already is), I would also avoid creating textField = new textField() any Ideas would be welcomed. Cheers

  Hi, I am currently planning to develop a music streaming application. And i am wondering what would be better as a primary key in my tables on the server. An ID int or a Unique String. Methods 1: Songs Table: SongID(int), Title(string), Artist*(string), Length(int), Album*(string) Genre Table Genre(string), Name(string) SongGenre: SongID*(int), Genre*(string) Method 2 Songs Table: SongID(int), Title(string), ArtistID*(int), Length(int), AlbumID*(int) Genre Table GenreID(int), Name(string) SongGenre: SongID*(int), GenreID*(int) Key: Bold = Primary Key, Field* = Foreign Key I'm currently designing using method 2 as I believe it will speed up lookup performance and use less space as an int takes a lot less space then a string. Is there any reason this isn't a good idea? Is there anything I should be aware of?

• Comments in Activity Stream

  Hi, I'm starting to develop an activity stream. I've read both How to implement the activity stream in a social network and What’s the best manner of implementing a social activity stream?. What I haven't found is the best way to add comments to the activities. As in facebook, each comment can be commented by another person. If each activity comment is saved as another activity, then I would not be able to get the activity of that comment without doing a query. So the solution I'm thinking is to save the comments inside the serialize data field of each activity. If the user wants to delete his comment, I would have to update that activity. Is this the correct solution? Is there a better approach? Thanks!

• Google's Geocoder returns wrong country

  Hi I'm using Google's Geocoder to find lat lng coordinates for a given address. var geocoder = new google.maps.Geocoder(); geocoder.geocode( { 'address': address, 'region': 'uk' }, function(results, status) { if(status == google.maps.GeocoderStatus.OK) { lat: results[0].geometry.location.lat(), lng: results[0].geometry.location.lng() }); address variable is taken from an input field. I want to search locations only in UK. I thought that specifying 'region': 'uk' should be enough but it's not. When I type in "Boston" it founds Boston in US and I wanted the one in UK. How to restrict Geocoder to return locations only from one country or maybe from a certain lat lng range? Thanks
