• SIGABRT on any UIView touch

  Hi. I'm afraid no amount of Googling has been able to save my hyde on this. I seem to be getting SIGABRT error anytime I touch the screen of the phone, on any UIView. The debugger console posts this error before the SIGABRT: .... [310:207] *** -[UIView _exclusiveTouchView]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x14c0c0 .... [310:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[UIView _exclusiveTouchView]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x14c0c0' (this is not my specific call to _exclusiveTouchView, of course.) I would gladly post some code, but the truth is I cannot find (or guess) where this problem may be coming from. This is not happening on any ONE UIView but on all the UIViews in my stack. I can summarize the display logic, though, perhaps that will shed some light. So the application is created and a UIWindow is alloc'd. A single viewcontroller is then alloc'd, which makes and adds its own blank self.view, to which the other UIViews, representing the different game states, are attached. Interestingly enough, this error is does NOT happen on the Simulator, but happens consistently on the device. And I should also mention that the application has yet to override/use any of the touchesBegan:/Ended:/Moved: etc... In other words, this error happens without these methods in the code. I'm really not understanding where this error is coming from... Any suggestions?

• How would I structure the loop to go through inputs?

  I am attempting to make a loop that will go through an array structured like this: $input[n][checked] $input[n][input] The 2nd input acts as a price multiplier, but doesn't have to exist (field can be blank). I don't think a foreach loop is right because I don't think it handles the inputs from the form in the correct dimensional array order to keep the information together. I have inputs on a form that look like this: <input type="checkbox" name="measure[<?php echo $item->id; ?>][checked]" value="<?php echo $item->id; ?>"> <input class="item_mult" type="text" name="measure[<?php echo $item->id; ?>][input]" /> I am attempting to make the loop go through and act as a multiplier on the input relative to its sibling field. • Jquery .val() for input only works once.

  I'm trying to create a chat box for my game. The user type's their chat into the input:text feild and by ither pressing Enter or clicking the button submits the chat text. This all works, however for some reason after the first time a user submits a chat message it fails to get the text from the input field. Edit: I've tried it with and without the line to clear the text box, same results both ways. Your help is appreciated.

• Making a query result equal to zero when a condition is null

  Hello, I believe the query below should work. However, when I run it, the results are blank. I think this is happening since for now, the table "comment" is empty. So there is no instance where s.submissionid = c.submissionid. I would like to have the query below to work even if there if no s.submissionid that equals a c.submissionid. In this case, I would like countComments to equal zero. How can I do this?   The setup = I have this class, Transcript: class Transcript(models.Model): body = models.TextField('Body') doPagination = models.BooleanField('Paginate') numPages = models.PositiveIntegerField('Number of Pages') and this class, TranscriptPages(models.Model): class TranscriptPages(models.Model): transcript = models.ForeignKey(Transcript) order = models.PositiveIntegerField('Order') content = models.TextField('Page Content', null=True, blank=True) The Admin behavior I’m trying to create is to let a user populate Transcript.body with the entire contents of a long document and, if they set Transcript.doPagination = True and save the Transcript admin, I will automatically split the body into n Transcript pages. In the admin, TranscriptPages is a StackedInline of the Transcript Admin. To do this I’m overridding Transcript’s save method: def save(self): if self.doPagination: #do stuff super(Transcript, self).save() else: super(Transcript, self).save() The problem = When Transcript.doPagination is True, I want to manually delete all of the TranscriptPages that reference this Transcript so I can then create them again from scratch. So, I thought this would work: #do stuff TranscriptPages.objects.filter(transcript__id=self.id).delete() super(Transcript, self).save() but when I try I get this error: Exception Type: ValidationError Exception Value: [u'Select a valid choice. That choice is not one of the available choices.'] ... and this is the last thing in the stack trace before the exception is raised: .../django/forms/models.py in save_existing_objects pk_value = form.fields[pk_name].clean(raw_pk_value) Other attempts to fix: t = self.transcriptpages_set.all().delete() (where self = Transcript from the save() method) looping over t (above) and deleting each item individually making a post_save signal on TranscriptPages that calls the delete method Any ideas? How does the Admin do it? UPDATE: Every once in a while as I'm playing around with the code I can get a different error (below), but then it just goes away and I can't replicate it again... until the next random time. • PHP - "Fat Free Framework" Find Methods and Showing Results in Template

  Just started trying the "Fat Free Framework" I'm building a site using a MySQL DB with 265 fields, and 5000+ rows in the DB; I can load() a specific record easily, no problems. When using find(), afind(), and even "select()", template will show blank lines or lines with "filler" text, with the correct number of rows for the query results, but no text/data from the DB itself; Same problem whether using objects or simply arrays from result (afind() and find()). I've copied/pasted the code verbatim from examples and from documentation, with only the DB specific items changed. Still, no luck.   I'm fairly new with PHP and I am messing around with a login/registration system. I setup my sample website using a PHP-SWITCH script I found a while back: <?php switch($_GET['id']) { default: include('home.php'); /* LOGIN PAGES */ break; case "register_form": include ('includes/user_system/register_form.php'); } ? On the registration page the form links to my "register.php" which checks the validity of the form and to check for any blank fields and so on. "register.php" is supposed to refresh the page and add a reason to what the user did wrong when submitting the form. On my "register_form.php" page, which holds the actual form. This field is hidden until the user makes a mistake. <?php if (isset($reg_error)) { ?> , please try again. My "register.php" checks the form for all the errors. Here's the bit of code that will refresh the page with the reason for the error: // Check if any of the fields are missing if (empty($_POST['username']) || empty($_POST['password']) || empty($_POST['confirmpass'])) { // Reshow the form with an error $reg_error = 'One or more fields missing'; include 'register_form.php'; Now after I submit the form without any fields filled out I get the error code, but it refreshes to the actual "register_form.php". The problem with this is that because of my PHP-SWITCH script (helps me manage the site a lot easier) I don't have any formatting on that page. The actual URL to my "register_form.php" would be: "index.php?id=register_form.php". Now I have tried several different things such as changing it to: include 'index.php?id=register_form.php' And also changing it to: header(location:index.php?id=register_form.php') Unfortunately all this does is refresh the page without the reason for the error. I know this can be easily solved by just adding a Javascript Validator but I'd like to know if it is possible to refresh the page with the error using either "include" or "header()" while having a PHP-SWITCH script on the website.

• Strings exported from a module have changed line breaks

  In a DrScheme project, I'm using a MrEd editor-canvas% with text% and inserting a string from a literal in a Scheme file. This results in an extra blank line in the editor for each line of text I'm trying to insert. I've tracked this down to the apparent fact that string literals from outside modules are getting extra line breaks. Here's a full example. The editor is irrelevant at this point, but it displays the result. ; test-literals.ss (module test-literals scheme (provide (all-defined-out)) (define exported-string "From another module with some more line breaks. I've traced in and figured out that it's changing Unix line breaks to Windows line breaks when strings are imported from another module, but these display as double line breaks. Why is this happening and is there a way to stop it other than changing every imported string?

• MS SQL : Can you help me with this query?

  I want to run a diagnostic report on our MS SQL 2008 database server. I am looping through all of the databases, and then for each database, I want to look at each table. But, when I go to look at each table (with tbl_cursor), it always picks up the tables in the database 'master'. • Uninitialized array offset

  Hey everyone, I am using PHP to create a form with an array of fields. Basically you can add an unlimited number of 'people' to the form and each person has a first name, last name, and phone number. The form requires that you add a phone number for the first person only. If you leave the phone number field blank on any others, the handler file is supposed to be programmed to use the phone number from the first person. So, my fields are: person[] - a hidden field with a value that is this person's primary key. fname[] - an input field lname[] - an input field phone[] - an input field My form handler looks like this: $people = $_POST['person'] $counter = 0; foreach($people as $person): if($phone[$counter] == '') { // use $phone[0]'s phone number } else { // use $phone[$counter] number } $counter = $counter + 1; endforeach; PHP doesn't like this though, it is throwing me an Notice: Uninitialized string offset error. I debugged it by running the is_array function on people, fname, lname, and phone and it returns true to being an array. I can also manually echo out $phone[2], etc. and get the correct value. I've also ran is_int on the $counter variable and it returned true, so I'm unsure why this isn't working as intended? Any help would be great!

• addChild, etc. using NSTreeController and NSTreeNode (snow leopard)

  I have a setup with an object (OTNodeDatum) (OT for OutlineTest) to be the represented object in NSTreeNode. NSTreeNode is the Class shown in the attributes page for NSTreeController. I have document based app, no core data. On MyDocument init, I set up content with an NSMutableArray containing one item, an NSTreeNode with a represented object which contains a single property (yes, name). Add button, Add Child button, Delete button, hooked up via interface builder to the NSTreeController add action, etc. It works up to a point. When I do an add, I get a new blank line which I can edit, but the inserted text goes away when I leave the cell. When I do a delete, things get deleted. When I do add child, nothing happens. I think I have to subclass either NSTreeNode, or NSTreeController to get the right behavior in terms of adding children and adding a new represented object in addition to adding a new tree node. IS this on the right track? If I subclass NSTreeController would I just override the add, addChild, to get the right thing to happen? And what could I mess up? I can't seem to find any guidance on this, although I've spent a long time looking. Thanks. John V

• Cast errors with IXmlSerializable

  I am trying to use the IXmlSerializable interface to deserialize an Object (I am using it because I need specific control over what gets deserialized and what does not. See my previous question for more information). However, I'm stumped as to the error message I get. Below is the error message I get (I have changed some names for clarity): An unhandled exception of type 'System.InvalidCastException' occurred in App.exe Additional information: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Xml.XmlNode[]' to type 'MyObject'. MyObject has all the correct methods defined for the interface, and regardless of what I put in the method body for ReadXml() I still get this error. It doesn't matter if it has my implementation code or if it's just blank. I did some googling and found an error that looks similar to this involving polymorphic objects that implement IXmlSerializable. However, my class does not inherit from any others (besides Object). I suspected this may be an issue because I never reference XmlNode any other time in my code. Now I get a popup asking me where to save it, but I would like it to save it under a default name and path AND encoded in UTF-8. • Set the selected item for a combobox in a datagrid

  I am using a datagrid which has many combobox fields in it, when I click the datagrid combobox the selected item or highlighted value is the last item in the list, but I would like it to highlight the first(top) item in the list. I know for just a combobox, all I need to do is change the combobox.selecteditem or combobox.selectedindex, but I'm not sure what to do in this case. I have binded the combobox to a table in the database and used a datatable to store the combobox values and then I add a row to the datatable, I think the reason the last item in the combobox is highlighted is because I added a row to the datatable. • Launch .jar files with command line arguments (but with no console window)

  I have to do a demo of an application, the application has a server.jar and client.jar. Both have command line arguments and are executable. I need to launch two instances of server.jar and two instances of client.jar. I thought that using a batch file was the way to go, but, the batch file executes the first command (i.e. server.bat [argument1] [argument2]) and does not do anything else unless I close the first instance, in which case it then runs the 2nd command. And also the I do not want a blank console window to open (or be minimized) What I really need is a batch script that will just launch these apps without any console windows and launch all instances that I need. Thanks in Advance! EDIT: javaw: works if I type the command into the console window individually. If I put the same in the batch file, it will behave as before. Console window opens, one instance starts (whichever was first) and it does not proceed further unless I close the application in which case it runs the 2nd command. I want it to run all commands silently SOLUTION: Found the solution, below is the contents of my batch file @echo off start /B server.jar [arg1] [arg2] start /B server.jar [arg3] [arg4] @echo on this opens, runs all the commands and closes the window, does not wait for the command to finish.

• Working with a database

  I have an existing program for a bank account, the user can create an account then withdraw or deposit money to the account. As a transaction is processed, labels are being used to show the current information such as (Beginning Balance, Transaction Fee, Withdrawal Amount, and Ending Balance). Now, I need to be able to keep track of the transactions being processed in a SQL database. I know how to add a database to the project and then set it up to display all of the data from the table in a gridview. This is assuming that I manually entered data into the table; however, the table should be blank when the program starts and as I process transactions, then the data should be written to the table. How do I bind my existing fields (labels) to a datatable and send the text to the table. The book that I have is all related to just displaying the data that is already in the table and I have been through a couple of tutorial online and they seem to be about the same subject. I haven't found anything on how to do what I am looking for. Can someone help me out here. I don't mind references to other websites that might have the answer. Thanks, Susan
