  • Are there any Pandora/Slacker like applications to create stations/play lists from personal mp3 library?

    I'm interested in having playlists created automatically much in the same way that Pandora and Slacker Radio "create" radio channels. I understand that iTunes has the Genius feature, but this requires that the files have been encoded with iTunes, which is not the case with my music, among other reasons I'm not considering iTunes. I'm running an Windows environment, but would consider Linux options as it would give me a reason to learn more about Linux. In the end the music files and play lists will end up on my Android phone and tablets. Working with Amazon's Cloud Player would be nice, but not required.

  • How do I allow end user 'blocked sender lists' to work even if the server manages spam filtering?

    Client filtering in Outlook 2010 is disabled when the server is managing spam filtering. Unfortunately I have a few high profile users that prefer to spam-block mailing lists rather than unsubscribe, so even though the email is not really spam they are upset that it is coming into their mailbox. As seen here, I am not the first person to wrestle with this issue, and the suggested fix there (setting New-FseExtendedOption –Name CFAllowBlockedSenders –Value true) also failed to work for me. Can anyone provide another possible fix? Thank you kindly.

  • Is it possible to have tab completion of drop-down lists in web pages in Firefox?

    Does anyone know of a Firefox plugin that would enable tab-completion (or some other key sequence like Alt-L) of items in drop-down lists in web forms? e.g. ou<TAB>in<TAB>s<TAB> for 'OurCompany - Internal Support' Vimperator's hints mode makes it very ergonomic to focus the drop-down list with a key sequence like f13 but the keyboard interface to the drop-down list still sucks. I very frequently have to pick items from a very long list with very long common prefixes among the entries (e.g. 30-40 starting with OurCompany -), which renders both the built-in keyboard interface and the mouse pretty slow and unergonomic. I basically want readline support for filling webforms!

  • How to parse HTML with TouchXML or some other alternative.

    Hi, I'm trying to parse the HTML presented below with TouchXML but it keeps crashing when I try to extract certain attributes. I'm totally new to the parser world so I apologize for being a complete idiot. I need help to parse this HTML. What I'm trying to accomplish is to parse each attribute and value or what not and copy them to a string. I've been trying to find a good parser to parse HTML and I believe TouchXML is the best I've seen because of Tidy. Speaking of Tidy, How could I run this HTML through Tidy first then parse it? I'm not sure how to do this. Here is the code that I have so far that doesn't work due to it's not pulling everything I need from the HTML. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.   • Installing my sdist from PyPI puts the files in the wrong places

    Hey. My problem is that when I upload my Python package to PyPI, and then install it from there using pip, my app breaks because it installs my files into completely different locations than when I simply install the exact same package from a local sdist. Installing from the local sdist puts files on my system like this: /Python27/ Lib/ site-packages/ gloopy-0.1.alpha-py2.7.egg/ (egg and install info files) data/ (images and shader source) doc/ (html) examples/ (.py scripts that use the library) gloopy/ (source) This is much as I'd expect, and works fine (e.g. my source can find my data dir, because they lie next to each other, just like they do in development.) If I upload the same sdist to PyPI and then install it from there, using pip, then things look very different: /Python27/ data/ (images and shader source) doc/ (html) Lib/ site-packages/ gloopy-0.1.alpha-py2.7.egg/ (egg and install info files) gloopy/ (source files) examples/ (.py scripts that use the library) This doesn't work at all - my app can't find its data files, plus obviously it's a mess, polluting the top-level /python27 directory with all my junk. What am I doing wrong? How do I make the pip install behave like the local sdist install? Is that even what I should be trying to achieve? Details I have setuptools installed, and also distribute, and I'm calling distribute_setup.use_setuptools() WindowsXP, Python2.7. My development directory looks like this: /gloopy /data (image files and GLSL shader souce read at runtime) /doc (html files) /examples (some scripts to show off the library) /gloopy (the library itself) My MANIFEST.in mentions all the files I want to be included in the sdist, including everything in the data, examples and doc directories: recursive-include data *.* recursive-include examples *.py recursive-include doc/html *.html *.css *.js *.png include LICENSE.txt include TODO.txt My setup.py is quite verbose, but I guess the best thing is to include it here, right?   • SPSiteDataQuery Returns Only One List Type At A Time

    The SPSiteDataQuery class in SharePoint 2007 is very powerful, but it has a few limitations.  One of these limitations that I ran into this morning (and caused hours of frustration) is that you can only return results from one list type at a time.  For example, if you are trying to query items from an out of the box custom list (list type = 100) and document library (list type = 101) you will only get items from the custom list (SPSiteDataQuery defaults to list type = 100.)  In my situation I was attempting to query multiple lists (created from custom list templates 10001 and 10002) each with their own content types. Solution     Since I am only able to return results from one list type at a time, I was forced to run my query twice with each time setting the ServerTemplate (translates to ListTemplateId if you are defining custom list templates) before executing the query.  Below is a snippet of the code to accomplish this.     Hi, I have been trying to figure this out a while. I would like to make my app engine website use basic html and shtml whenever in order to avoid the slow warm-up phase of jsp apps on app engine. This is so that my landing pages load instantly. Basically, I am trying to include an html file into my main html file (index.html - I tried index.shtml). This is the command I try: <!-- include virtual="header.html" --> However it does not work. The server side includes to not seem to get executed in app engine. Do I need to enable these commands somewhere first - or does app engine simply not allow them?

    Maybe I'm an idiot but I don't quite get what goes in the header of my HTML to use XHTML w/ HTML5. Then at A List Apart they say: If you do go with XHTML 5, remember that your server must deliver the documents with a MIME type of application/xhtml+xml or text/xml. Please explain to me as if I was stupid :) what that means in a practical sense? "deliver the documents"? Meaning html? What happens to php? What are the steps required to set up your web server this way?

My problem is even after removing the html tags, there is a small square box displaying in the emulator indicating that there is some image.   • ASPNET MVC - Override Html.TextBoxFor(model.property) with a new helper with same signature?

    I want to override Html.TextBoxFor() with my own helper that has the exact same signature (but a different namespace of course) - is this possible, and if so, how? The reason for this is that I have 100+ views in an already existing app, and I want to change the behaviour of TextBoxFor so that it outputs a maxLength=n attribute if the property has a [StringLength(n)] annotation. The code for automatically outputting maxlength=n is in this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2386365/maxlength-attribute-of-a-text-box-from-the-dataannotations-stringlength-in-mvc2. But my question is not a duplicate - I am trying creating a more generic solution: where the DataAnnotaion flows into the html automatically without any need for additional code by the person writing the view. In the referenced question, you have to change every single Html.TexBoxFor to a Html.CustomTextBoxFor. I need to do it so that the existing TextBoxFor()'s do not need to be changed - hence creating a helper with the same signature: change the behaviour of the helper method, and all existing instances will just work without any changes (100+ views, at least 500 TextBoxFor()s - don't want to manually edit that).     I have a bunch of HTML resources in my app organized in a hierarchy like so: dirA |---> index.html |---> a1.html |---> a2.html |---> dirB |---> b1.html |---> b2.html |---> dirC |---> c5.html |---> c19.html I'm trying to collect the absolute paths of all HTML resources however deep down, but can't seem to figure out how. So far I've tried: NSArray myPaths = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathsForResourcesOfType:@"html" inDirectory:nil]; This returns an empty array, because I have no HTML files at the root of my project. Then there is: NSArray myPaths = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathsForResourcesOfType:@"html" inDirectory:@"dirA"]; This returns an array containing only the paths for the three HTML resources directly below dirA. If I read the doc correctly, I guess this is to be expected; pathsForResourcesOfType does not traverse subdirectories. But is there a (preferably nice) way to do it?

    I am trying to follow the tutorial here to setup the user and pass. It says there that "this section is only applicable if your MySQL server is running with --skip-show-database". First question is, how do I check if MySQl server is running with --skip-show-database? Is there any way I can access phpMyAdmin SQL query window without logging in? Otherwise I'd have to execute this SQL from command line. I am also getting this: Cannot load mcrypt extension. Please check your PHP configuration. I have added mcrypt.so to php.ini and doing the following command proves that I have it.   • Roundcube "Server Error (OK!)": Lists no messages but can get messages according to the log file

    In my server setup there are three virtual machines. One windows machine, an Ubuntu Server 11.10 and a Debian Squeeze mailserver. On the Ubuntu system I have Roundcube installed and I want to connect to the virtual mail server. What's the problem After login into Roundcube it says "Server Error (OK!)" and lists no messages. More information On the Ubuntu server there is no error in any log file (even Roundcubes log files). In the imap log file there you can see Roundcube is able to fetch all imap messages (I can see them in the imap log file created by Roundcube). And on the side of the mail server there are no error messages too. The test connection at the end of the configuration of Roundcube works too, there is a "success" notification. Even the basic login at Roundcube login dialog works without any error message.   • Changing middle mouse behavior in Adobe AIR HTML Control?

    I'm using the Flex 4/Adobe AIR mx:HTML control in a project and I'm trying to figure out how to change the middle mouse behavior. For some reason the control treats middle mouse clicks and drags exactly the same as left mouse clicks and drags, navigating through links and selecting text -- everything. For my project I need to use the middle mouse button for a different function. I've figured out how to hook into the events (although mouseUp and mouseDown for Left/Middle don't work over HTML whitespace, perhaps because of the default behavior). However I can't figure out how to stop the default behavior for middle mouse events. Calling preventDefault() on the HTML control mouse events doesn't work, presumably because the behavior is handled by the HTMLLoader within the HTML control, which I imagine hooks mouse events to the actual HTML content displayed on screen. Unfortunately I can't view the source for HTMLLoader to figure out what's going on, and browsing the properties and events doesn't shed any light on the situation either. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Oh, if anyone can suggest a different embeddable HTML renderer that doesn't have this problem, then that might work too, I'm not too tied to WebKit (although I do need to use AIR)

"\r\n"; $mail = mail($mail_to, $subject, $message, $headers ); It works completely fine with clients such as Gmail, or thunderbird users, but I viewed it in a few other clients, that aren't so famous, but still widely used in my country, and it just shows me the html source.. I'll also add that I've seen other mails in those clients that are working fine, so they are supporting html mails. What am I doing wrong?

    I am working on an embeddable javascript which inserts HTML elements onto unknown pages. I have no control of the stylesheets of the pages I'll be inserting HTML into. The problem is that the HTML I insert will mistakenly stylized by the page, and I want to prevent that. What's the least verbose and/or resource intensive to go about ensuring the elements I insert are exactly as I'd like them to be? Is there an easy way to clear all styling for a given HTML element and children? In firebug, for instance, you can remove all styling. I feel like there must, and the very least should, be a native way to exempt certain HTML elements from stylesheet rules? Example: var myHTML = $("<div>my html in here</div>"); myHTML.resetAllStyles(); //<--- what would this function do? myHTML.appendTo("body"); I really want to avoid explicitly stating the attributes I want for each element I insert... PS: I have a lot of experience with JS and CSS, so you can assume that I'll understand pretty much anything you're going to tell me.

    Let's say I have the following HTML code <div id="outer"> <div id="inner">Hello World</div> </div> At the end of my HTML page, I use javascript to attach event handlers like so, document.getElementById('inner').onclick = function() {alert(this.innerHTML);} document.getElementById('outer').onclick = function() { /* An Ajax Call where the response, which will be a string of HTML content, then goes into document.getElementById('outer').innerHTML */ document.getElementById('inner').onclick = function() {alert(this.innerHTML);} } In the above code, I am expecting <div id="inner">Hello World 2</div> to come back which requires me to re-attach the onclick event handler. This makes sense because the new response coming back is just a string, and I have to tell the browser that after converting to DOM, i also need some event handlers So my question is, is there a better way to manage event handlers on AJAX response that contains HTML content? I could use inline javascript within the html response, but then it prevents me from achieving non-intrusive javascript. So is there a way to achieve non-intrusive javascript and an efficient way to "maintain" event handlers of ajax html responses?
