  Hi, I have the following Table definition with sample data. In the following table, Customer Product & Date are key fields Table One Customer Product Date SALE X A 01/01/2010 YES X A 02/01/2010 YES X A 03/01/2010 NO X A 04/01/2010 NO X A 05/01/2010 YES X A 06/01/2010 NO X A 07/01/2010 NO X A 08/01/2010 NO X A 09/01/2010 YES X A 10/01/2010 YES X A 11/01/2010 NO X A 12/01/2010 YES In the above table, I need to find the N or N consecutive records where there was no sale, Sale value was 'NO' For example, if N is 2, the the result set would return the following Customer Product Date SALE X A 03/01/2010 NO X A 04/01/2010 NO X A 06/01/2010 NO X A 07/01/2010 NO X A 08/01/2010 NO Can someone help me with a SQL query to get the desired results. I am using SQL Server 2005. I started playing using ROW_NUMBER() AND PARTITION clauses but no luck. Thanks for any help

• FIPS-compliant encryption in .NET 2.0

  We have a .NET 2.0 application that uses the RijindaelManaged class to encrypt some sensitive data. This was fine until we ran into some machines that require the use of FIPS-compliant algorithms. We'd like to switch to AesCryptoServiceProvider, but most of our target machines haven't upgraded past .NET 2.0. Requiring an upgrade is out of the question. After all, upgrades are scary! Is there any way we could use AesCryptoServiceProvider in a .NET 2.0 application? Since 3.5 uses the 2.0 CLR, I was hoping there might be a way to build the needed libraries into the app. Failing that, could someone point me to a reference on the native API that's wrapped by AesCryptoServiceProvider?

  Hello, I was wondering what the best way to do a live character count of an edit-text box is in Android. I was looking at this but I couldn't seem to make any sense of it. To describe the problem, I have an EditText and I'm trying to limit the characters to 150. I can do this with an input filter, however I want to show right below the text box the number of characters a user has entered(Almost like stack overflow is doing right now). If someone could write a small snippet of example code or point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance.

  I am using Carbide (just upgraded to 2.0) to develop an S60 3rd Edition application. I would like to know the easiest way to change the icon (both the application icon on the device menu and the icon at the top left of the main view) because I have the need to skin my application in many different ways as easily as possible. All my efforts with messing around with .mif files have so far failed. I have a 44x44 .svg icon I made with Illustrator, could someone please help me in the right direction? Thanks!

I am looking for an approach where I can persist the trie in a file and load it effectively. I have looked at sqllite to understand how they are persisting b-treebut their file format looks bit advanced and I may not need all of those. • Running Visual Studio 2008 and 2010 at the same time

  A group of us are working on a project which we built with .NET 3.5 in Visual Studio 2008. I want to test out Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4 (well, mainly for WPF 4). I am just wondering if I install VS 2010, will I still be able to use VS 2008 to open the first project. I know when I open older projects made in VS 2003/2005, I get an upgrade wizard. I do not want to upgrade the first project to 2010, since that would probably mean every one else has to use it too. I have not done this before, is it possible to run both versions of Visual Studio, where each version opens its own projects (this may not even be an issue, but I just wanted someone to confirm this, so that I don't spend a lot of time trying to undo changes)?

  Hi, I am creating a lightweight, single-file database administration tool and I would like to bundle some small icons with it. What is the best way to embed images in a HTML/PHP file? I know a method using PHP where I would call the same file with a GET parameter that would output hardcoded binary data with the correct header, but that seems a bit complicated. Can I use something to pass the image directly in a CSS background-image declaration? This would allow me to utilize the CSS sprite technique. Browser support isn't an issue here, so more exotic methods are welcome also. EDIT Does someone have a link/example to how to generate Data URL's properly with PHP? I'd figure echo 'data:image/png;base64,'.base64_encode(file_get_contents('image.png')) would suffice but I could be wrong.

  I have a Drupal setup like this: Content type: Apartments Vocabulary: Areas, that can be used with Apartments. Content type: User profile, with a Content Taxonomy Field for Areas so users can select what areas they are interested in. I would like a view that shows all the user profiles that matches the apartments in their area. A "User profile <- Areas <- Apartments" join in other words. I've been mucking around with the views interface for a while but it's not clear to me how the relations can be setup to achieve this. Can someone give me a hint? In case this cannot be easily solved with views, what is a good way of doing it otherwise? Thanks for your help.

• product suggestion based on user data

  I'm trying to add suggestions to product pages along the lines of : "Customers who purchased this item also purchased x and y". The way the data is compiled right now is a mysql table with 3 rows. PRODUCT | CUSTOMER |QUANTITY Product is the product ID. Customer is the customer ID. Quantity is the number of time that product was bought by that customer. For each product description page, the system needs to figure out which users bought that product, what other products those users bought, in what quantity and then return the 2 products that were bought the most by people who bought the current product. Hopefully this makes sense and someone can point me in the right directions as to what the mysql query should look like. Thanks.

• ProcessCmdKey - wait for KeyUp?

  Hi, I'm having the following issue in a WinForms app. I'm trying to implement Hotkeys and I need to process Key messages whenever the control is active, no matter if the focus is on a textbox within that control, etc. Overriding ProcessCmdKey works beautifully for this and does exactly what I want with one exception: If a user presses a key and keeps it pressed, ProcessCmdKey keeps triggering WM_KEYDOWN events. However, what I want to achieve is that the user has to release the button again before another hotkey action would trigger (so, if someone sits on the keyboard it would not cause continuous hotkey events). However, I can't find where to catch WM_KEYUP events, so I can set a flag if it should process ProcessCmdKey messages again? Anyone can help out here? Thanks, Tom

• Facebox adding commas to input

  I'm using a facebox to display a form inside a lightbox, nothing too exciting (just a couple of datepickers, some textboxes and a checkbox). However, I'm having issues with the postbacks, whenever I post back from the facebox it adds a ',' to the start of the input (so "rabbit" becomes ",rabbit") Now, I saw that there was the same issue with the modalpopup extender from the ajaxcontroltoolkit, so I assume it's a common issue. Can anyone either explain why this is happening, or tell me how to fix it? provide a decent way of fixing this? I have actually done it, and it works very nicely, but I don't really want to answer my own bounty question so someone else give it a go! • Why does the ASP.Net Web Forms model "suck"?

  I've heard Jeff Atwood, Joel Spolsky, and many other legendary people talk about how the ASP.Net Web Forms model sucks. (So this question is kind of directed to them, hopefully Jeff is reading) Now, I highly respect their opinion, given their background and expertise, but truth be told, I absolutely LOVE ASP.Net. I think the model is brilliant, and it sucks if you have no idea what you're doing, but once you understand how to control ViewState, when to use handlers instead of pages, etc, it is generations ahead of all the other models. So every time I hear someone complain about how it sucks, I can't help ask the same question... Why? What is it that's so bad about it? I appreciate all opinions. I'm assuming there's probably a post at Jeff's blog talking about this too...

  I have a validation function I'm using inside of codeigniter. function valid_image() { if ( ($_FILES["file"]["type"] != "image/jpeg") || ($_FILES["file"]["type"] != "image/gif") ) { $this->form_validation->set_message('valid_image', 'Wrong file type..'); return false; } else { return true; } With just the "image/jpeg" part in the if statement it works fine. If I try to upload anything other than a jpg file it fails. If I run the code above, it fails with both a jpg or a gif file. And before someone says "why not use the upload class," I can't. I'm saving my pics directly into MongoDB, so the upload class doesn't help much.

  I'm about to develop a web mapping application with ESRI Products like ArcGIS Server and Image Server. I can't find a good comparison between the Java Web ADF and the Javascript Framework. They're of course different because one is a full environment and the other is only client side but it's much more concise and the step to start is minimal. Another problem is that the Java Web ADF is not compatible with our current application server (JBoss 4.2.2) and require an old 4.0.2 version. Someone out there has experience that can help me?   Hi, I use the Map to display some pin location from my database, everything is working fine. After that I use a pickerView to let the user display some specific pins. So I remove all the Pins first with [mapView removeAnnotations:mapView.anotations]; and display new Pins. There is like 100 of news pins, my problem is when I click on a Pin, the Title and subtitle are display under the others pins. Someone got the same problem?   I have forgotten my passphrase for my gpg key on linux. Can someone please help me write a simple script to use bruteforce to crack the key? I remember show of the words which MIGHT be in the passphrase, so hopefully, it will not take long for my computer to bruteforce it. All is not lost of I can't recover the passphrase, it just means I will not be able to work on my project for the next 10 days until I get back to work to get another copy of the files, but this time with a new key for which I will remember to passphrase.
