• Sphinx search: failed to unpack mysqlcompress column

  I have compiled sphinx 0.9.9 for debian x64. When I try to index using unpack_mysqlcompress, I get this error: "WARNING: failed to unpack column 'page_text', error=-5" The 'page_text' field is around 5Kb, and unpack_mysqlcompress_maxsize is set to 64M, yet the zlib manual says error -5 indicates Z_BUF_ERROR. Also if mysql does the decompression using UNCOMPRESS(), it works fine. Any ideas why sphinx is generating this error?

  I have implemented ajax on paging but my problem is when i navigate on paging and go to page 1 then on page 2 after that if i press backspace it went to the last page from where it comes instead of going to page 1. I want to know how should i implement paging like stackoverflow have. Further i have noticed that my url doesnt change on paging it remains like Home/Index when im on 1st page or 2nd page or any other page?

  Suppose that I have two numpy arrays of the form x = [[1,2] [2,4] [3,6] [4,NaN] [5,10]] y = [[0,-5] [1,0] [2,5] [5,20] [6,25]] is there an efficient way to merge them such that I have xmy = [[0, NaN, -5 ] [1, 2, 0 ] [2, 4, 5 ] [3, 6, NaN] [4, NaN, NaN] [5, 10, 20 ] [6, NaN, 25 ] I can implement a simple function using search to find the index but this is not elegant and potentially inefficient for a lot of arrays and large dimensions. Any pointer is appreciated.

  I'm looking for a way to rewrite URLs only if the path doesn't exist. This isn't to handle 404s, but to redirect page URLs to a shared PHP file (ie: '/contact-us/' - '/show_page.php?page=contact-us'). The basic redirect is easy enough to achieve, however I want to be able to override the default page by adding '/contact-us/index.php' in the site root. Is this achievable with mod_rewrite or would I have to do something else?

  I really like this vim trick to use the left and right arrows to flip between buffers: "left/right arrows to switch buffers in normal mode map <right> :bn<cr> map <left> :bp<cr> (Put that in ~/.vimrc) But sometimes I'm munching on a sandwich or something when scrolling around a file and I really want the arrow keys to work normally. I think what would make most sense is for the arrow keys to have the above buffer-flipping functionality only if there are actually multiple buffers open. Is there a way to extend the above to accomplish that?

I need to make a migration between 2 database connections, one of them having unique index on 2 fields and one doesn't. And my migration is empty.   I'm currently using regular expressions to search through RSS feeds to find if certain words and phrases are mentioned, and would then like to extract the text on either side of the match as well. For example: String = "This is an example sentence, it is for demonstration only" re.search("is", String) I'd like to know where the is was found so that I can extract and output something like this: 1 match found: "This is an example sentence" I know that it would be easy to do with splits, but I'd need to know what the index of first character of the match was in the string, which I don't know how to find
