• Google Analytics is not tracking all of our pages

  Our website is insynchq.com. In the All Pages report under Content - Site Content we can only see data for some our pages, like /, /getstarted, and /download. Others, like /gmail, /about, and /mobile are not shown, even if we are sure that there have been visits to them. We use a template for our pages so the scripts that are loaded for / (for example) should also be loaded for /gmail, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the installation of the tracking code. Can anyone help? Thanks.

  I'm trying to get Nexus Mod Manager (Beta yet) working on wine, but after the configuration of NMM it crashes with an error. During the startup it spams alot of terminal stuff and at the end I find this error. ###!!! • SEO and search result changes when switching to SSL on Joomla site?

  I am thinking about purchasing an SSL certificate for a website. The most noticeable difference for the user would be the http now becomes https and there is that lock icon in most browsers. Will there be any adverse affects on the website's current SEO or recognition by search engines when I make the switch? Also this is a Joomla site, which has an option in the settings to use SSL. It is supposed to make it easier but not sure if it takes care of everything. Thanks!

• Ubuntu 12.04 x64 - Very slow response and sluggishness

  Recently updated to 12.04 x64 on my AMD HEX core 4GB system, over the last few days I feel that the overall system is sluggish/laggy , for instance hitting the dash button, the dash opens but the recent activity of files/videos etc is incredibly slow to populate, like wise in Nautilus and browsing my media, the file names are showing up but it takes an age to populate the "thumb" of the video, If I go into Gnome-shell the shell response is a little faster but again clicking on applications there is still a noticeable pause. I have the latest Nvidia Drivers loaded and I have very fast SATA drives, if I reboot into windows 7 the system is so much quicker in its response, I only use windows for games and Ubuntu is my main OS. 10.04/10.10/11.04 was Super quick and this was when the system still had a Duel Core Chip and a worse Nvidia card, 11.10 was pretty snappy, but 12.04 just feels bloated on each system I have installed it on. My hardware is more than up to the task so has anyone got any commands i can run to help diagnose the issue? Anyone else got the same problems? Thanks Murph

  I got a hosting account at HOSTGATOR. it was a shared account and i had three websites present over there. now, i have upgraded my account to VPS at HOSTGATOR and i want to transfer only ONE website over the new VPS. say, mydom.net. this website includes wordpress installation and other custom pages and setup can somebody please guide me How can I transfer the web to my new account? with speed, accuracy, and such that my website remains in working condition.. what will I do about wordpress? simply copy it will work?(I dont thnk so), if not how can I move it? I need guideline. and I am asking the question with a hope that many others will also learn the things just as i am learning,, and one quick thing, answering it like creating a manual can help people a lot...that's my thinking.. thanks to all

  We have a site. our main servers is for blogs and freedom write. Our custom can submit their article in our site. But for ptotect the copywrite, we do not allow custom just do easy copy and parse a whole article from other site. At least they should write something by themselves. And how to check if the article is a completed copy from other site? google webmasters? google search api? or other better way? Because we always received DMCA notice by google, so I am tring to stopping the articles before they were posted. Thanks.

  I am implementing customer specific code and currently following simple approach like if (cusomterId == 23) do it. I want to separate out all the customer related code in separate place. But I have following problems. In code is in 1. Stored procs 2. Plain old classes. 3. Controllers 4. Views I came up with two solutions. First is to create table CustomerFunctionlity with columns CustomerId, FunctionalityName, method/Proc, inputs/outputs With this table I can simply check if exists, execute given function. Another way is creating a factory which returns customer related object for an interface. I am writting small end to end customer specific functionalities. How can I write maintenable code. Thanks

• What is the best and cheapest CMS for an E-Commerce site?

  My client needs a site customers can use to pay the membership fees and join. It should also track when old members need to pay again. There are some members that will not want to pay online and they want to be able to use the site to manage all payments. The CMS must be cheap to host online, potentially with something like GitHub/Heroku. I am experienced with PHP and RoR. I am using a CMS so once I am done with this project it is easy for them to update. After reading through different posts I think WordPress with an e-commerce Plugin may be the right solution. Spree and WebGUI also looks promising. Thanks for the help.

• RPG Equipped Item System

  I'm making a 2d rpg with libgdx and java. I have an Inventory class with an Array of Items, and now I want to be able to equip items onto the player. Would it be more managable to do have every item have an "equipped" boolean flag have an "equipped" array in the player class have individual equipped fields in player class, e.g. private Item equippedWeapon; private Item equippedArmor; public void equipWeapon(Item weapon){ equippedWeapon = weapon; } Or just another way completely? • can't see second hard drive

  I had XP Pro installed, and then I installed 12.04 dual boot. System has 2 hard drives, c: (as in windows) is primarily OS stuff, and then E: is data/personal documents. XP can still see both drives as normal after the ubuntu install, but ubuntu can only see the windows C: drive. How can I access the second drive? I can't see any trace of it, using the little *nix know-how I have, which isn't much...any help is great! Thanks!

• Ubuntu 12.04 installer does not recognize Windows 7

  I recently purchased an ASUS N56VZ-ES71 laptop which came with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it. I wish to dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 on it. I shrank the hard drive partitions to leave about 150 GB unallocated for Ubuntu 12.04. When I boot the Live CD of Ubuntu and attempt to install, the installer does not recognize any other operating systems. Through reading a few questions, I have found that this is due to a GPT partitioning table that Windows uses. I ran boot-repair as per other threads' suggestions. This was my output: http://paste.ubuntu.com/1176988/ I suppose my question is: how do I proceed in order to get the installer to recognize Windows, so that I don't have to erase the current partition table and can get a safe install? • Ubuntu 13.04 not detecting operating system Windows 8

  I have a Samsung NP740U3E with pre-installed Windows 8 (boots with UEFI). I installed Ubuntu 13.04 without problems. Later, Windows 8 did a BIOS update which messed up everything, nothing would boot. I recovered everything and went back to fabric settings. Now Windows 8 works fine, but when I try to install Ubuntu it does not detect any operating system, so I can`t install Ubuntu alongside Windows. I`ve googled as much as I can, ran a boot-repair, disabled fast- and secure-boot. I have a GPT disc, been looking into gdisk without luck. Here`s my boot-repair summary http://paste.ubuntu.com/5835719/ Is it necessary to convert the GPT disc to MBR? Is it possible to hard-reset the disc "even more" than fabric settings? In my experience Qt is a joy to work with and thanks to QML and QML/3d it's looking like it could be a viable framework for game development. The thought of using signals and slots for gamedev is exciting. I'd like to hear some opinions on Qt in general as a game development platform. What are it's limitations? What are it's advantages? • Ubuntu One lost most of my files!

  I keep in my UbuntuOne the source code of my projects as a back up. In the past it worked and I never had problem. It happened that I had to change the hard disk of my laptop and I installed a fresh Ubuntu 12.10 in the new one. First time I connected with UbuntuOne it downloaded my files, but when I went to see my projects almost all my c++ source code files were missing!!!... I tried to check if I still have them on UbuntuOne by accessing from the web but nothing... my work is lost forever. I don't know who to ask for help? Is there a way to get back my precious files? Honestly I can't trust this service any more, I'm very disappointed. (edit: thanks God I found a back up in one of my external hard disks. I won't trust Ubuntu One any more, it's buggy and quite slow. )

• Are there some types of software that cannot be developed by all major programming languages?

  I'd like to know if some of the major programming languages can absolutely not be used to create some very specific types of software. By major programming language I mean the likes of C++, C#, Java, Ruby, Python. By "cannot be developed" I mean cannot be developed or it is unrealistic to do it due to performance, difficulty of implementation, etc. I've always thought that any programming language could be used to solve any problem but lately I've been thinking that some languages are unsuitable for some projects. • downgrading a ubuntu 10.04 LTS virtual server

  I am downgrading an existing ubuntu 10.04 LTS Virtual Server to one with less memory and a smaller drive ( from 80GB to 40GB ). My hoster ( hetzner.de ) does not give me the possibility of doing an inplace downgrade, so I have to create a new server. What is the best way to make an image of the first system and "apply it" to the new one ? I know there other answer but in my situation I am not sure I would be able to use Clonezilla or other GUI tools, because the installation is minimal with no GUI. Thanks in advance Michele

• If C-Panel Indexing Manager sets a folder to "No Indexing" can it be crawled by a webcrawler?

  People are able to view directories / folders on my site right now. So, they could go to mysite.com/images and see the full index. To prevent this, C-Panel offers an option to set a directory / folder to "No Indexing" under the "Index Manager." Will this option allow webcrawlers to crawl / index the images? Or, is there a simpler alternative to block access to all folders directly while still having it SEO friendly? My old server restricted direct access to folders by default. But, the new one does not. Any ideas on this? Thanks!

• Grub rescue doesn't allow me to boot from LIVE CD/USB

  I used to have Windows Vista & Ubuntu 12.04 on dual boot. Accidentally, I deleted the Linux partition and landed on Grub rescue on the next boot. The tricky thing for me here is I have been trying to boot through LIVE CD/USB of the ubunutu version, other linux versions but in vain. What happens is, it appears as if it reads the CD/DVD drive or the USB flashes for a while when trying to boot through LIVE versions but the Grub rescue appears after a while. The only option I could think here is to remove the hard disk and connect to the other laptop I have through USB and reinstall a fresh OS. Please suggest me a way to boot through the DVD/USB again. My laptop is Sony VAIO CR32 series.Thanks.

  I have successfully installed easypeasy in an Asus EeePC. I want to use the authoring programm Hot Potatoes, which is/uses a Java application (sorry for my poor technical vocabulary). It is installed and extracted. I have found guidelines about how to use it here (it is in German but the instructions for the terminal are clear). But it seems I cannot install any Java package. I have tried all the packages the terminal says are available and this is what terminal says: "Unable to find the package". In ubuntu I use Hot Potatoes with wine, but I cannot install it in the Asus, so I need to run it with java. Thanks for your help.

• Ubuntu 11.10 has some problem with GUI

  Once power on the system, after some time the GUI of all most all window has changed (look at the image). Into thunderbird all text are overlapped and display mashed up. Into Geany color all tabs and code are changed. I need to close those apps and reopen it to view it correctly. I have 1 GB of RAM. Anyone out there who could help? thanks a lot!

• Given a used laptop with Ubuntu installed, how do I get past the password demands?

  Recently given a laptop with Ubuntu 12.1 installed alongside Windows 7. Can only access Ubuntu, which is fine for everyday use (LibreOffice, Firefox, etc.) but there's an authentication password required to install the 500+ updates, and when trying to run anything in terminal, it asks for "quiz's" password. It won't allow me to go into root mode to bypass the password (if that's even a real thing?). I'm completely new to Linux, but am fascinated at the capabilities and would like to mess around some more, but keep getting stopped by these passwords. What do I have to do? Uninstall and re-install? How does one do that if I don't even have access to the Windows 7 OS because it is password protected as well? Thanks in advance for any information and help.

• How do i add a start menu page to my java game?

  I have a rather cool space invaders game that my friend and I have been working on for a while, and we have decided it needs an opening page, with "Start" options, "Quit" options and so forth. I have looked at several methods online, but cant seem to get any of them to work! Does anybody have any ideas? P.S Using JFrame to draw the main frame Im just looking to do this within Java, so just a panel that appears at a state change (GAME, MENU). Id like it to contain a few buttons to start the game, and quit. Later, I will add achievements, but im after something really basic for now. But thanks for the suggestions!
