    I have a login controller that use the hibernate uniqueResult method. Everything works fine when i test it in eclipse's tomcat server. But when i deploy my webapps to tomcat server (on the same machine) it fails: it always returns null even i use the correct credential. Here is my hibernate code: session.createCriteria(User.class) .add(Restrictions.eq(User.USERNAME_FIELD, userName)) .add(Restrictions.eq(User.PASSWORD_FIELD, password)).uniqueResult(); Thank you!

    Hi all. I have a project that I have been running on IRIX that builds fine with gmake. I copied the source and make files onto a Redhat machine, and running gmake gives me the error posted in the subject. This is during a part of the make that is building .d dependency files, and they are separated by a colon, which I have read is a no-no, but why does it work on one system and not the other? What is the fix? Thanks

  • How to launch from Eclipse in Low priority under Windows?

    I'm running programs from Eclipse (on Windows) that eat a lot of CPU time. To avoid bogging down my whole machine, I set the priority to Low with the Task Manager. However, this is a cumbersome manual process. Is there a way Eclipse can set this priority automatically? EDIT: I realized that each particular launcher (Java, Python etc) has its own configuration method, so I will restrict this question to the Java domain, which is what I need most.

    I remember reading a paper a long time ago that talked about object-oriented programming. I believe that this was from the early 1980s or perhaps even before then. This was at the time when object-oriented programming was still done through pre-processors, and one thing that stuck with me is this: it argued that you could write code in either procedural or object-oriented fashion, and after preprocessing/compiling, you would end up with the exact same machine code. Does anybody know which paper I'm talking about?

    The default output of File.toURL() is file:/c:/foo/bar These don't appear to work on windows, and need to be changed to file:///c:/foo/bar Does the format file:/c:/foo/bar work correctly on Unix (I don't have a Unix machine to test on)? Is there a library that can take care of generating a URL from a File that is in the correct format for the current environment?

    Dear all. I was wondering if there are examples of situations where you would purposefully pass an argument by value (deep copy) in C. For instance, passing a char to a function is usually cheaper in space than passing a char* (if there's no need to share the value), since char is 1 byte and pointers are, well, whatever they are in the architecture (4 in my 32 bit machine). ?(When) do you want to pass (big) deep copies to functions? if so, why?

I have another database table which is hosted in SQL Server 2005 Enterprise DB. I want to know whether Merge statement could using one table of SQL Server 2008 as source, and another tableof SQL Server 2005 as target?     I am running the same AIR application under windows, linux and Mac OSX Windows and Linux look fine, but under mac OS-X the controls are not showing any text. Button, Tooltips, Labels, Check boxes, everything is blank. I just ported that app to Flex 4. Flex 3 versions of the same app on the same OSX machine works. How can I get controls to show text under Max OSX? Is this a font problem?

    I am conducting stress tests on my database, which is hosted on SQL Server 2008 64-bit running on a 64-bit machine with 10 GB of RAM. I have 400 threads. Each thread queries the database every second, but the query time does not take time, as the SQL profiler says that, but after 18 hours SQL Server uses up 7.2 GB of RAM and 7.2 GB of virtual memory. Is this normal behavior? How can I adjust SQL Server to clean up unused memory?

Every thing is working fine, if i open the application in the same machine where the Web application is hoste. if i access the same appication from a remote client IE, A blank box is coming with a small image in the corner.   • Ubuntu option vanishes after setting up windows XP(?) [closed]

    I have installed both windows XP as well as Ubuntu 9.04 on my machine.I can choose between them using dual boot option at the startup.Up to this, it is fine. But unfortunately when my XP crashes, I need to install XP again.But when I do it,after installing XP successfully, dual boot option no longer appears at the startup. So the Ubuntu goes in vein. What is the problem here? How do I solve it?
