I can use fopen to open local files but can't open files across network on a different machine. I can map the drives and look at the files but can't open them using fopen.
<Binary Id="binUpdate" SourceFile="c:\xxx\Update.exe"/>
<CustomAction Id="Update" BinaryKey="binUpdate" Execute="deferred" ExeCommand="c:\xxx" />
When I build a Wix project with the above custom action, it complains that "The system cannot find the file 'C:\xxx\Update.exe".
This update.exe is deployed by the same msi. So, how do I make Wix to ignore the fact that the file does not exist on my build machine?
Thanks in advance
Hey All,
assuming I'm running a small shop (3 devs) and using a Windows 7 machine as a centralised Git and IIS server what is the easiest way to get CI up and running?
This must be locally hosted CI (no github, no remote servers).
I'm doing C# .Net development with Visual Studio 2008.
Any help on getting this running with the minimum of effort and the nicest possible UI would be extremely helpful.
Thanks!
I made an app built it in debug mode and want to run in on another machine.
There is an error:
the application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect
What are possible solutions for that?
I need to have debug version
I want to open any file type by using the code below:
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(pathFile);
Is there a way to check if system application not exist?
for example: pdf, the local machine has no acrobat reader.
I have 2 asp.net web applications running in IIS7:
http://app1.local/
and
http://app2.local/
My host.ini file just maps the above urls to localhost:
::1 app1.local
::1 app2.local
I added the same machine key to both their web.config's.
When I sign into app2, and then go to app1, the call to Request.IsAuthenticated is false?
Should this work?
It's fairly simple to play a sound file, say temp.wav, from Visual Studio C#. I'm looking for a way to do this without temp.wav being locatable from themachine running the program.
IE - I want to read the .WAV file into my solution so that it is somehow inside of my .EXE and be played by it.
Is this possible?
Hello,
I have SQL Server 2005 dev installed on my machine.
Using SQL Server Management Studio: how can I connect to a SQL Server on another domain?
Please note that the computer has to be VPN'ed into the domain I am connecting to.
Thanks,
Voodoo
Hello!
I have this rule written in my .htaccess
RewriteRule ^blog/([0-9]+)/? /obdelaj.php?ime=$1
which works but it redirects me to example.com/obdelaj.php?ime=# and i want the user to stay on example.com/blog/#
I have a hostgator account and i dont have access to the httpd file , and i presume that a some configuration in httpd file is causing this, because on my localhost machine this work just fine.
So what would i have to add to the .htaccess to overwrite this automatic redirection?
Thank you
Here is a scenario: User installs .NET application that you have made. After some time, you find a security issue in it and create a patch for it. When patch is ready, you post it "somewhere", and when next Windows update is run on user's machine (automatically or manually), that application is updated, too. I'm wondering if this is possible...and how? Searching on MSDN about it, didn't give any results.
Hi All,
I have successfully signed my elevated trust xap file with a cert bought from comodo. This works great on my local machine but when I transfer my xap to our server it is as if the xap had not been signed. Am I missing something that I need to do on the server to allow this to work?
Thanks for any questions or input.
Hi,
I recently contacted a web host regarding support for external database access to a Microsoft SQL Database included in a package they offer. They replied saying that it is only possible with an SSH-tunnel.
Is it possible to connect to a MS SQL database in Visual Studio using an SSH-tunnel? It is important for me to be able to access the database from my local machine (for debugging, generating LINQ classes, editing tables, etc).
Or, how should I go about working with their database?
http://maven.apache.org/settings.html As per documentation the user specific settings can be either copied to the .m2 folder or under the maven installation. If a developer changes a machine or gets a new user id, such properties have to be copied manually to these newer machines.
Would it be possible to store user specific setting information in the repository itself (say SVN) and somehow have the mvn scripts load it on startup.
I set up subversion on my Windows 2008 server and it works fine locally, but when on a remote machine, I would like to be able to access my repository by using the URL of a website hosted on my server. Any idea how I can set that up?
We have a standalone java swing app, in which the user can print something that he drew, on a printer by giving its IP.
Now the requirement is that the app needs to remember the ip that was given the last time by this user.
What I could think of till now is (a brute one though) - keep a log file kind of storage on the client machine, and that everytime the app comes up it reads the last submitted one.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
I have a windows forms app running on a machine that is not on a domain, that needs to be able to move a file from the local filesystem to a UNC path. I have a username and password for that path. I was wondering is there any way to do this directly with out execing the net.exe command?
Ideally I wouldn't have to map a drive.
I know there are tools like Salamander that can compile a .NET WinForms apps to fully native code with no need for the CLR/.NET Framework to be on a machine. Is this possible for WPF apps as well?
I have an asp.net web application that uses an unmanaged 32 bit dll that I have successfully running on my development machine, but when I use web deploy to move the code to our test server, I start seeing BadImageFormat exceptions.
I set the target in visual web developer to x86 and both machines are running 64 bit os's (windows 7 and windows server 2008 r2). I'm not sure what other differences there could be causing the problem. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi,
I'm currently using ANT for building my Java project on a Windows XP machine.
In my build.xml file I've defined 3 task and I would like that,in case of fail,a default task be executed before closing the building and exiting (like a recovery procedure). I would like to know if it's possible.
thanks
I can't run a debug sdk application because it requires both VC 8 and VC 9 versions of the CRT. But it only requires visual studio 2008 for plugin dev, which is what I need.
How do I install the debug runtimes from 2005 on to a Windows7 machine? I can't figure out how to make them run app local nor can I copy anything into the winSxS folder without a trusted installer.
On a SMP machine we must use spin_lock_irqsave and not spin_lock_irq from interrupt context.
Why would we want to save the flags (which contains the IF)?
Is there another interrupt routine that could interrupt us?
The flags are per CPU?

could you tell me how to create a link to a file on the c drive(local machine)
or a link to download a file from the hard drive
this doesn t seems to work

I see that a JSON serializer is present in the System.Web.Script.Serialization namespace, and is shipped in the System.Web.Extensions.dll assembly.
Is this assembly distributed with the .NET framework v4.0 redistributable? Is it also guaranteed to be present on a user's machine if any edition of Visual Studio 2010 is installed?
