  • Cursor while loop returning every value but the last

    Hello, I am using a while loop to iterate through a cursor and then outputing the longitude and latitude values of every point within the database. For some reason it is not returning the last (or first depending on if I use Cursor.MoveToLast) set of longitude and latitude values in the cursor.     I currently have one Scrollview which contains a table layout and one list in my activity. Now my problem is that I wanted to move both of them(Scrollview and list) together and with proper synchronization... So if scrollview is being scrolled then listview should also scroll with the same distance, and vice versa... Thanks in advance.. Abhishek

    Iam trying to get a location (latitute and longitude), I cant figure out what Im doing wrong but my location keeps returning null.     Hi, I want to make a apps that check what's the nearest place from where the user is. I can easily get the location of the user and I have a list of places with latitude and longitude. What would be the best way to know the nearest place of the list against the current position. I could not find anything in the google APIs. I am worried I need to resort to my calculate and have to do math to calculate it. What do you guys think ? Cheers and thanks for reading or replying.

  • Displaying thumbnails of images (present at different locations in the sdcard) in a listview

    Hi all, I have several images present in different folders in my sdcard. I would like to display a list of thumbnails. So what I have done is while rendering any row in the list I read the file in an input stream, get the byte array, decode it to obtain a bitmap and set it in an imageview. So far so good. But when I scroll the list, the list scrolls in jerks. I believe this is because decoding a bitmap from byte array takes some time. What I would like to know is that, is there any optimization which I can do to improve the performance, or better still is there any better method to achieve what I want ?

  • Jwplayer 6: html5 fullscreen when video clicked to play

    I want to be able to use jwplayer so that when the user clicks on the video the video will start to play in fullscreen mode. I want this functionality to work on mobile devices that support html5. If the video is played on a mobile device it will take up the whole screen. Youtube and Vimeo currently do this on mobile devices. The Link Below uses Html5 video tag, which plays in fullscreen on mobile device when the video is clicked on. The only way I that I know that jwplayer allows fullscreen is that I manually click on the fullscreen button, but it would be nice to only click on the video to trigger the video to play in full screen.

  • TabWidget white foreground color?

    I don't know what I did but for a period of time my TabWidget had white colored tabs which looked really nice. I never set a theme or background/foreground color in my project at all. The next time I compiled it it reverted back to the gray tabs. My application is using the default dark theme. Even if I set the application theme to light, the tabs are still gray. So obviously it was something else that changed the tabs' color. Anyone know how to do this?

    I am having the following problem:I've installed java 1.6u33 on my windows 7 machine.Everything was fine, i was running eclipse for example.But i did a mistake -i deleted the jre6 dir.Now i am trying to reinstall java with no success.I got this msg when i try to uninstall it: "error 1723 there is a problem with this windows installer package a dll required for this install to complete could not be run..."I've deleted everything i had found for java in the registry,the Java dir, also tried JavaRa.I saw in MSI**.LOG files what dll is mising and put it where it was searched for.No success. So is there a way i can reinstall java without reinstalling windows?

  • Why do my Sax Parser produce no results after using InputStream Read?

    Hello, I have this piece of code which I'm hoping will be able to tell me how much data I have downloaded (and soon put it in a progress bar), and then parse the results through my Sax Parser. If I comment out basically everything above the //xr.parse(new InputSource(request.getInputStream())); line and swap the xr.parse's over, it works fine. But at the moment, my Sax parser tells me I have nothing. Is it something to do with is.read (buffer) section?     Hi evereyone, I'd like to create a custom component which supports voice recognition. It will primarily be an extended EditText which should show the microphone button for voice recognition if it is available. I wanted to to look at the search app-widget on the homescreen but I don't find it in the source. This is intended to use the voice recognition as some sort of dictation device, i.e. the user does not have to type but use his voice instead. So could anyone please point me in some direction? But notification always plays with the same volume despite that volume number in setStreamVolume method. Why is that?

    All I need to do is download some basic text-based and image files from a web server that has a self-signed SSL certificate. I have been trying to figure out how to use HttpClient to do this, but getting the SSL to work is a nightmare that seems to be way too much trouble for such a simple task. Is there a better way to perform these file downloads? Perhaps through a WebView or Browser feature? Reinventing the wheel of making a simple HTTPS GET request is a major pain, and is significantly holding up my development schedule.

    I have a complex custom view - photo collage. What is observed is whenever any UI interaction happens, the view is redrawn. How can I avoid complete redrawing (for example, use a cached UI) of the view specially when I click the "back" button to go back to previous activity because that also causes redrawing of the view. While exploring the API and web, I found a method - getDrawingCache() - but don't know how to use it effectively. How do I use it effectively?
