And business entity assigned to each. What's the best solution to automate this process? I need to: Have layout stored in DB (in XML). Layout must support several columns, tabbed interface Automatically bind business object values to the form Automatically read form values and write to business object Must support automatic validation Some basic workflows support would be good I used to work with TFS and saw how they implemented WorkItem templates (.wit files).   • controlling bluetooth connection in matlab

    we have a project in which we have to pick randomly generated numbers from a remote device, say mobile. there is a simple java application to generate numbers. next, we have to recieve those numbers in our matlab program via bluetooth connection with the device. assuming those numbers are temperature readings, we want to recieve a new number after every 10 sec and display the number on our matlab GUI program. the problem is do we implement bluetooth protocol through our programming? or use the matlab templates? because otherwise whenever we want to transfer file from a mobile to computer, we have to manually click "recieve a file" in blutooth wizard , just like we normally do to transfer a file. we want to enable the connection once, and then recieve text files after every 10 seconds to be read in our matlab program. can anyone please tell is it even possible in matlab? if yes, how do we establish such an automatic real time connection?

  • How can I sync a database driven website to a different server

    I have a website using cPanel on a dedicated account, I would like to be able to automatically sync the website to a second hosting company or perhaps to a local (in house ) server. Basically this is a type of replication. The website is database driven (MySQL), so Ideally it would sync everything (content, database, emails etc.) , but most importantly is syncing the website files and its database. I'm not so much looking for a fail-over solution as an automatic replication solution, so if the primary site (Server) goes off-line, I can manually bring up the replicated site quickly. I'm familiar with tools like unison and rsync, but most of these only sync file(s) and do not do too well with open database connections.

In my user table, i have user_id, first_name, last_name, email, etc. Should I somehow relate the user_id of the user and the friend in a friend table?   • How do you fix "Too many open files" problem in Hudson?

    We use Hudson as a continuous integration system to execute automated builds (nightly and based on CVS polling) of a lot of our projects. Some projects poll CVS every 15 minutes, some others poll every 5 minutes and some poll every hour. Every few weeks we'll get a build that fails with the following output: FATAL: java.io.IOException: Too many open files java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: Too many open files at java.lang.UNIXProcess.<init>(UNIXProcess.java:148) The next build always worked (with 0 changes) so we always chalked it up to 2 build jobs being run at the same time and happening to have too many files open during the process. This weekend we had a build fail Friday night (automatic nightly build) with the message and every other nightly build also failed. Somehow this triggered Hudson to continuously build every project which failed until the issue was resolved. This resulted in a build every 30 minutes or so of every project until sometime Saturday night when the issue magically disappeared.

    I just wanted to hear the opinion of Hibernate experts about DB schema generation best practices for Hibernate/JPA based projects. Especially: What strategy to use when the project has just started? Is it recommended to let Hibernate automatically generate the schema in this phase or is it better to create the database tables manually from earliest phases of the project? Pretending that throughout the project the schema was being generated using Hibernate, is it better to disable automatic schema generation and manually create the database schema just before the system is released into production? And after the system has been released into production, what is the best practice for maintaining the entity classes and the DB schema (e.g. adding/renaming/updating columns, renaming tables, etc.)?   • Is it possible to find out what FlashBuilder is doing during compilation?

    I've found that Flash Builder 4 (formerly Flex Builder) has trouble working with large projects. After a certain point, builds seem to take longer and longer. I've tried many different ways of improving build time including: Moving embedded resources into externally linked projects. Using -incremental. Tweaking the .ini jvm settings including memory and -server. Turning off automatic build (I'd prefer not to have to do this, because one of the main reasons for using an IDE is to be told about errors as you make them). Deleting the project and re-checking out from the repository. While some of these may help a bit, the performance is still annoyingly slow. I feel if I knew what was taking so long I could refactor my projects to build faster. Is there some setting that tells FlashBuilder to let me see what parts of the build process take so much time?
