• Having problems with a mask in C#

  I guess this would be a DevExpress mask, but here is what I have: var dlEdit = new DevExpress.XtraEditors.Repository.RepositoryItemTextEdit(); dlEdit.Mask.MaskType = MaskType.RegEx; dlEdit.Mask.EditMask = "\\d{1,10}"; I'm trying to get a number that can be up to 10 digits in length that WILL accept leading 0's, as it is now it will show the leading 0's (ex. 0032421243) until the field is clicked off in which case it removes them. I tried a numeric masktype but same thing only it wouldn't let me enter the 0's to start with at all. I thought this would be my answer but this custom type isn't. Can someone point me in the right direction for what I need? Maybe a different type of mask or something?

• Use ISAPI filter to trace and time a WCF call?

  I'm building a web application using WCF that will be consumed by other applications as a service. Our app will be installed on a farm of web services and load balanced for scalability purposes. Occasionally we run into problems specific to one web server and we'd like to be able to determine from the response which web server the request was processed by and possibly timing information as well. For example, this request was processed by WebServer01 and the request took 200ms to finish. The first solution that came to mind was to build an ISAPI filter to add an HTTP header that stores this information in the response. This strikes me as the kind of thing somebody must have done before. Is there a better way to do this or an off-the-shelf ISAPI filter that I can use for this? Thanks in advance

• Neon toolkit and Gate Web Service

  I am trying to run any of the services from gate web service, in neon 2.3. Even Annie that runs so well in gate doesn't run, or better, it stay for indefinite time processing, a thing that should take no more than a couple of seconds. I run wizard, set input directory, leave file pattern as default and set a folder and name for the output ontology, shouldn't it be enough? Shouldn't i get something, even an error? • SCSI Windows Setup on Dell Precision 670 Workstation...please help.

  Error Windows Setup: "setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer" This is not exactly a programming question but I thought you guys might be able to help. I just received a Dell Precision 670 workstation. Windows is not recognizing the hard drive and I have experienced this before with other computers. I usually would just go in the bios and set the configuration to compatibility mode. I have no idea how to do this on this machine. There is this Adaptec SCSI HostRaid BIOS v4.30.4S5 screen on startup. It says to press CTRL A for SCSI select utility. It shows a Maxtor ATLAS10K5_73WLS for the drive. I was wondering if anyone out there knew how to configure this thing so that windows setup will recognize the hard drive? Any advice is very much appreciated and if you have to know further information please let me know. Raid was turned off in the BIOS for this device. TY

So my content page markup code is: <%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Template.Master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="ASP_Test_WebApp.Default" %> <asp:Content id="TEST" ContentPlaceHolderID="Main" Runat="Server" /> So now I would like to add Contents to the "TEST" id incode. But my in code doesn't recognize TEST. If I don't use a masterpage and I give an id to a tag my in code reconigzes it, but now that I started using masterpages it doesn't. What am I doing wrong? Thx

  Dear Stackoverflowers, A simple link would be nice for me to understand how to install my C++ program as a deamon in UNIX, now i know some will say this should be on SERVERFAULT but as far as i understand it i need the init.d shell script to actually create the start and stop for the daemons. But if you guys can show me a simple shell script for the daemon and the file directories every thing required is associated with, that would be great. I was going to do this http://www.linux.com/archive/feed/46892 but if you read the comments every one is moaning x( . P.S. ive already done the required code for C++ to run as a daemon i just need to know how to actually install it as a daemon. At the moment im using crontab which is just not a good idea for the future of my problem. Thanks in advance

• Face recognition Library

  I'm looking for a free face recognition library for a university project. I'm not looking for face detection. I'm looking for actual recognition. That means finding images that contain specified faces or libraries that calculate distances between specific faces. I'm using OpenCV for detecting the faces and a rough Eigenfaces Algorithm for the recognition now. But I thought there should be something out there with a better performance then a self written Eigenfaces Algorithm. I don't talk about speed as performance I'm looking for a library with better results as an simple Eigenfaces approach I took a look at faint but it seems the library is not very reusable for my own applications. I'm happy with a library in Python, Java, C++, C or something like that. The best thing would be if it can be run on a Windowsmachine

• Eclipse c++ with mingw comiler cant build boost regex example, can find .a library files

  Hi, I'm trying to build the boost regex example in eclipse using mingw on vista. I built boost ok with mingw as there are library files XXXX.a. I could build/compile the first boost example that doesnt require any of the compiled boost libraries. When I compile the regex example I get a linker error saying it cant find the library file. I have tried various libray file names eg leave off the .a extension, leave off the lib prefix etc. Now the interesting thing is that if I leave off the library extension and rename the library file to XXX.lib it works and runs ok. So why cant it read the .a library file? It must be my setup somewhere but I dont know where or what to set. From what I read everyone is ok linking the .a file except me :( Thanks in advance, Kim

  Hello All I would like to develop such iphone application that provides functionality to download viedo. i am doing some as below 1) Loading HTML content on web view 2) The loaded html content contains the video link (i.e http://test.com/test.mp4") 3) When i click on that it will play the video in native player. 4) but i would like to prevent this thing and start downloading video from that URL for example, if i click on link it should not open native video player, it should start downloading from that url and store somewhere on iphone (i.e document directory) is there any solution for same? • Is it possible to use best_in_place with typeahead from twitter bootstrap?

  Basically, I am using best_in_place in my rails webapp to let users edit their profile info in place. The thing is, I would like users to be presented with a typeahead form for certain entries.. Here's what I'm working with: <p>College/University: <input type="text" class="span3" style="margin: 0 auto;" data-provide="typeahead" data-items="8" data-source='["University of Pennsylvania","Harvard","Yale","Princeton","Cornell","Brown","Columbia","Dartmouth"]'></p> This gives me a working form box with typeahead. However, I want to be able to wrap this in best_in_place with something like <%= best_in_place @student, :education %> so that users only see the typeahead form when they click on the text, and upon clicking away from the box or hitting enter the selection is stored in the database. Is there a reasonably easy way to do this?

• Trouble setting a default controller in MVC 2 RC Area

  This should be simple, but alas... I've set up an Admin area within my MVC 2 project (single project areas). I've created a couple controllers and their respective view folders. In the AreaRegistration.RegisterArea method, I've specified that I want the default controller to be "Dashboard": public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "Admin_default", "Admin/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Dashboard", action = "Index", id = "" }, new string[] { "Admin" } ); } If I navigate to url/Admin/Dashboard, the index comes up just fine. What I want, though, is to allow the user to go to url/Admin/ and see the same thing. When I do this, however, I get "The resource cannot be found". I'm just getting my feet wet with MVC 2's Area implementation, and I don't think I'm doing anything overly complicated... Anyone had the same problem? Do I need to specify a separate route, perhaps at the root, non-area level?

  I have a vb.net program that uses mysql as its database. And it works when the computer has wampservr installed. But the program gets an unhandled exception error when the computer where its running does not have a wampserver. The only thing that is installed in it is the mysql connector net. How do I make it work. I just want the two programs to access the same mysql database. I already opened port 20 by configuring firewall. Both in TCP and UDP. What do I do? Do I have to tweak the codes?

• xcode build to iphone chooses old invalid provisioning profile

  I've just gone through some pain with iphone and xcode upgrades and keychain failures etc and decided to uninstall xcode completely and re-install. This fixed my keychain issues however the project I am working on appears to be linked to an old invalid provisioning profile. I've deleted the profile from "Provisioning Profiles" in organiser, and removed it from Provisioning on the Iphone section of Organiser. However when I build an go with the iphone sdk rather than simulator i get the pop up "codesign wants to sign using key "OldKey" in your keychain". It appears the actual app is associated with the old key and I can't seem to find how to point it to the new valid one. Crazy thing is at some point I managed to get it to work and install but the application crashed and won't open. I've not managed to get it to install again. Any ideas?

I'm trying to understand how that works from a technical standpoint. I have scanned through 3GPP TS 03.40 (http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/html-info/0340.htm), but haven't been able to find much. Also, the fact that one has to provide the phone model indicates that it is a provider specific thing and not standardized? Does anyone have any pointers for me? Also I'd be interested how the "internet-enabling" process looks like in other countries. Anyone care to share?

  If I have a list of objects IEnumerable<MyType> myTypes; Is it possible for me to return this to the client as JSON return Json(myTypes); and if so, is it possible for me to convert this (now JSON format) list to a when it gets to the client? Is there any jQuery plugin to do this? The thing is, there's loads of other stuff I need to send as JSON also, so generating a table with a PartialView and embedding that into the JSON is a extra complexity that I'd like to avoid.   I think I might be misunderstanding the whole thing and I am looking for some programming wisdom. When faced with a programming challenge, I feel the most important question is "which programming paradigm(s) are better suited to handle it, and how to apply them". A distant second is "which language to use". Yet it seems that most of the programming related content I stumble upon on the Internet has it exactly backwards and focuses mostly on the language choice. An object-oriented solution is fundamentaly the same, whether it's implemented in c++, Java or PHP... So where is the paradigm centered content? Where is the "practical guide to programming paradigms and implementations" and other literature helping bringing real-world and programming concepts together? Note: I already know about "Programming Paradigms for Dummies: What Every Programmer Should Know" from Peter Van Roy.

• Removing an Entity from an EntitySet during Iteration...

  I've got this code... seems nice and elegant, but apparently the framework don't like it when i mess with a collection while iterating through it: foreach (KitGroup kg in ProductToTransfer.KitGroups) { // Remove kit groups that have been excluded by the user if (inKitGroupExclusions != null && inKitGroupExclusions.Contains(kg.KitGroupID)) ProductToTransfer.KitGroups.Remove(kg); else { // Loop through the kit items and do other stuff //... } } The error it throws when it iterates to the 2nd object in the collection is: "EntitySet was modified during enumeration" I know i could create a new collection of KitGroup objects (or even just IDs) that i want to remove, and then another loop afterwards to loop through these, and remove them from the collection, but this just seems like unnecessary extra code... can anybody suggest a more elegant way of achieving the same thing?   I'm running a very simple query that I think should work. The only thing that I haven't done before is put a php variable in the WHERE clause of the query. The variable $X is a numerical value, say 100. When I run this query, I just get a value of 0 returned. Am I doing something obviously stupid? SELECT generator_64k.n FROM generator_64k WHERE generator_64k.n<= '$X' I've looked around the web and also tried this: SELECT generator_64k.n FROM generator_64k WHERE generator_64k.n<= '" . $X .   What would be the ideal hardware setup for pushing lots of bandwith on a tube site? We have ever-expanding cloud storage where users upload the movies, then we have these web-delivery machines which cache the FLV files on its local harddrives and deliver them to users. Each cache machine can deliver 1200 mbits/s , if it has SAS 8 harddrives. Such a cache machine costs us $550/month for 8x160gb -- so each machine can cache only 160GB at any given time. If we want to cache more then 160gb , we need to add another machine..another $550/month..etc. This is very un-economical so I am wondering if we have any experts here who can figure out a better setup. I've been looking into "gluster FS", but I am not sure if this thing can push a lot of bandwith. Any ideas highly appreciated. Thank you!

• What is so bad about using SQL INNER JOIN

  Everytime a database diagram gets looked out, one area people are critical of is inner joins. They look at them hard and has questions to see if an inner join really needs to be there. Simple Library Example: A many-to-many relationship is normally defined in SQL with three tables: Book, Category, BookCategory. In this situation, Category is a table that contains two columns: ID, CategoryName. In this situation, I have gotten questions about the Category table, is it need? Can it be used as a lookup table, and in the BookCategory table store the CategoryName instead of the CategoryID to stop from having to do an additional INNER JOIN. (For this question, we are going to ignore the changing, deleting of any CategoryNames) The question is, what is so bad about inner joins? At what point is doing them a negative thing (general guidelines like # of transactions, # of records, # of joins in a statement, etc)?
