• Create an Edit view similar to Contacts App

  I have an edit view in my app which is a instance of UITableViewController and contains one cell with a textfield in a grouped table. At the moment this cell is at the top of the screen and is firstResponder so they keyboard is visible as well. But in all the Apples apps like the Contacts App when you edit a piece of information like an Email it buts both of its rows in the middle between the Nav Bar and the Keyboard not at the top of the screen. How do I achieve this effect? Many Thanks

• What is the code for a number sign in sharepoint?

  I've created a link in Sharepoint using the Content Editor Web Part. My link uses html to open up an email with the fields to, cc, subject, and body filled out. However, in the cc section I need a number sign (#) for a mailbox. When I use the html code & #35;(minus the space) my entire code crumbles. Everything starting at the "&" disappears. However, just for kicks I tried & pound;(minus the space) and the code works for a european pound sign. Not sure what else to try. Any suggestions?

  In ASP.NET I'd like to create a link which points to a specific Uri and send this link in an email to a user, for instance something like http://www.BlaBla.com/CustomerPortal/Order/9876. I can create the second part of the Uri /CustomerPortal/Order/9876 dynamically in code-behind. My question is: How can I create the base Uri http://www.BlaBla.com without hardcoding it in my application? Basically I want to have something like: http://localhost:1234/CustomerPortal/Order/9876 (on my development machine) http://testserver/CustomerPortal/Order/9876 (on an internal test server) http://www.BlaBla.com/CustomerPortal/Order/9876 (on the production server) So is there a way to ask the server where the application is running: "Please tell me the base Uri of the application" ? • Sending out 20,000+ emails with asp.net

  I am writing an application that will need to send a massive amount of emails to our students who will be selected from our database (each email will be personalized to the extent that will include their name, course of study etc...so needs to be sent one at a time). I could do this looping over an SmtpClient, but I'm afraid that with the numbers I'm trying to send, I'll ultimately run into timeout issues or my thread being killed because of lack of machine resources. At this point I'm just looking for suggestions of a better way to handle this, or if looping over SmtpClient is an ok solution, how I should go about handling it to prevent what I posted above. Would a web service be a better alternative? Please advise, TIA

• WYSIWYG editor that is intergrated with Ruby on Rails

  Hello, I have worked with Ruby on Rails for the last four years. So far I have used textmate for writing the code. This is working great as long as I don't need to do any decent presentation. I was wondering if there is any WYSIWYG editor out there that can intergrate with Rails. Something like Dreamweaver with the ability to browse Objects etc. If I have opened the _show.erb I create a div and selete @user.email. etc. Any suggestions?

• CFEXCHANGECONNECTION error when username changes.

  We are attempting to connect to an Exchange server through CFEXCHANGECONNECTION on ColdFusion 9 to retrieve email. We can connect with a number of users. However, some users cannot connect. We end up with the following error: Cannot access Exchange server as a web application at <server> It turns out that the users who cannot connect either have a ampersand in there username or they have changed there username with CFLDAP. So, if I perform a CFLDAP on a working user and change the userPrincipalName and sAMAccountName the user will begin getting the error above. If I change it back to what it was to start with, the error will go away. Any ideas? EDIT The ampersand part seems to be misleading. Essentially we found the problem because of the ampersand. However, for working users who did not have an ampersand, the error will begins showing up if their username is changed to something that does not have an ampersand.

  I'm using System.Net.Mail to send out a few emails. The emails are being sent by our internal mail server to local addresses. However all of the messages are going straight to junk in Outlook. The messages are being sent from valid email addresses. What would be causing our our servers to label it as junk? • What is a good reporting service for a simple database/hobbyist setup?

  I have a meager production environment running on my PC for a little application that I work on in my spare time. At this point I have the basics setup, MySQL, junit, svn... I am midway through development and I now need to generate various reports. These reports are based on what data is in the database.... Now, my question is this: Is there an existing reporting tool that accepts SQL and generates various reports (via: email, PDF, etc). Some tool which makes writing new reports easy, while also having a somewhat robust set of features. Does this software exist or must I write all of these reports myself?

• A Better way? C# finding controls, finding their id,

• MVC best practice when adding functions to controller?

  Hi I'm writing a function in my controller; this is supposed to take in a form, process it, register the user in DB, send a confirmation email etc etc. to avoid this function to be too cluttered, I was thinking of calling some sub-functions (eg: function registration() { //process form.. _insertInDb($formdata) _send_mail($address); //load confirmation view.. } function _send_mail($to) { //code here } function _insertInDb($formdata) { //other code here... } I'm not sure whether writing all the functions in the controller would be best practice -maybe I should insert all 'supporting' function (eg send_mail and insertInDb in this example) in another file and then import them? This would probably make the controller much more readable.. what's your view?

• Download and replace Android resource files

  My application will have some customisation for each company that uses it. Up until now, I have been loading images and strings from resource files. The idea is that the default resources will be distributed with the application and company specific resources will be loaded from our server after they click on a link from an email to launch the initialisation intent. Does anyone know how to replace resource files? I would really like to keep using resource files to avoid rewriting a lot of code/XML. I would distribute the application from our own server, rather than through the app store, so that we could have one version per company, but unfortunately this will give quite nasty security warnings that would concern our customers.

  Hello There, I'm trying to figure out where I could drop in some PHP code to notify a CRM we are using (Solve360) that a new order has been placed, and that an event should be created (API) to fulfill the order. Order Product Checkout Complete Checkout & Capture CC Side notify CRM Done Not sure where to start, but I have had to make some small tweaks to fix the Quantum Gateway payment processor to work. In that module it appears that the objects for the order (email, amt, details) were available. However it seems it would be quite 'dirty' to insert more PHP code in there. Ideas? • In java can i have more than one class/object in a file?

  So the way i've been told to do things is you have your file and the file name is Classname.java and then the code is something like this: class ClassName { SOME METHODS main {} } and then thats all. I'd like to have two objects defined and used within the same .java file. (i don't want to have to put the other class in a difernt file just because i'd like to send this to someone and i want to avoid hasstle of atatching multiple files to an email [the lazy do make good programers though if you think about it]) is it possible to do this? do i have to do anything special and if so what? what are some mistakes i'm likely to make or that you have made in the past when doing this?

The MANIFEST looks something like: SendMyEmail.pm SendMyEmail/defualt_email.tt Currently I know where the module (and the template) are - but does the module itself know where on disk it is? • Is 'donation' considered as commerical?

  I want to port an open source program to iPhone, the license prohibited any commercial use of the code. I emailed the author and he sent back an email saying freeware is ok. Of course I cannot (should not) charge anything on top of the code. Still, I want to get compensation for my work on UI design, graphics and integration work. So I wonder: Is donation (via PayPal) OK for my case? Is in-app purchase OK? i.e. the program is free, the user has the option to buy addition theme graphics? Thanks

• Is there a definitive list of uri patterns for use in android apps made by google?

  Apart from http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/g-app-intents.html (which is quite good but fairly limited in the number of apps/uri's it covers) I've been unable to find a decent reference source for looking up URI's to use when integrating with google apps. I'm currently working on triggering the "add new contact" UI, and have found that the tel: uri pattern seems to work, but what if I only have a name and an email? I wouldn't have expected I'd need to rely on sample code / trial and error, but I really can't see anywhere where the intent/URI interface is supposed to be documented in android apps. Does such a standard exist? Is there some quasi standard / user database that I can consult? On a platform with such a good inter-interoperability architecture it just seems like something so useful I can't believe it's not there

  This is very similar to a question I asked the other day but my page code has become significantly more complicated and I need to revisit it. I've been using the following code: $('#myLink').click(function() { $('#myImg').attr('src', 'newImg.jpg'); setTimeout(function() { $('#myImg').attr('src', 'oldImg.jpg'); }, 15000); }); To replace an image for a set period of time (15 seconds) when the link is clicked, then after 15 seconds, revert to the original image. However now, I'd like to run a snippet of javascript as well when the link is clicked (in addition to replacing the image), and only when the link is clicked (it's related to the 15 second image) and then have the js code disappear as well after the 15 seconds...however I'm not sure how to have jquery send js code into the page...Basically I just want jQuery to "echo" this code onto the page underneath the 15 second while I am there, but I don't know how jquery formats this "echo". Does this question make sense? interval = 500; imgsrc = "webcam/image.jpg"; function Refresh() { tmp = new Date(); tmp = "?" + tmp.getTime(); document.images["image1"].src = imgsrc + tmp; setTimeout("Refresh()", interval); } Refresh(); It's script for a webcam. Basically it takes a new picture every half a second and replaces it on the page. You must forgive me, I'm new to jquery, I don't know how to make this script work in a jquery context. i'm sorry, I'm explaining badly. This is what I need to happen, step by step: 1) User comes to the page and there is a static image that says "Click here to view webcam" 2) User clicks image 3) Image is replaced by live webcam image, which is refreshed every .5 seconds by the second script in my question. 4) After 15 seconds the live webcam reverts back to the static image saying "click here to view webcam" It is ONLY during that 15 second interval that I wan the webcam refresh script running, otherwise it's wasting bandwidth on an element that isn't even shown.   I have a Person model and an Address Model: class Person < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :address accepts_nested_attributes_for :address end class Address < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :person end In my people controller I have @person.build_address in my new action. My forms builds correctly. The problem is that when I submit the form, a person record and an address record is created but they aren't linked via the address_id column in the Person table. • Where to include business logic in a domain driven architecture

  I'm trying to learn effective DDD practices as I go, but had a fundamental question I wanted to get some clarity on. I am using ASP.NET WebForms and I am creating a situation where a user places an order. Upon order submission, the code-behind retrieves the user, builds the order from the inputs on the form, calls the User.PlaceOrder() method to perform add the order object to the user's order collection, and calls the repository to save the record to the database. That is fairly simply and straightforward. Now I need to add logic to send an order confirmation email, and I'm not really sure the proper place to put this code or where to call it. In the olden days I would simply put that code in the code-behind and call it at the same time I was building the order, but I want to get a step closer to solid proper architecture so I wanted to get some information. • Can NTFS-Search(An OSS project) scan any file on NTFS volume?

  I want to apply NTFS-Search to our project. Our project have to find the files which we specified.(fast and exactly!) But I'm not sure the program(NTFS-Search) works well. What if the file specified is system file? What if the file is being opened by a process with NO_READ_SHARE_MODE? Do you think NTFS-Search can find any files? I don't know about NTFS filesystem well. So I can't find the answer myself. Is there anyone who knows that? I tried to find their email address, but I couldn't find. Thanks in advance.

• Validating single form field with CodeIgniter

  Is there a quick way to validate a single form field with CodeIgniter to see whether or not that field matches a set of rules? There's the $this-form_validation-run();, but that will return either TRUE or FALSE for the whole form, and that's just not what I'm looking for. For example, if I only wanted to check if the email was valid, checking the whole form is not going to get me the result I'm looking for. I looked through the documentation but couldn't find anything like $this-form_validation-run(); that accepts one parameter and returns TRUE or FALSE if it's valid.
