    Today on twitter the following question came up on the #sqlhelp hash tag, from DaveH0ward : Is there a DMV that can tell me the last time an index was rebuilt? SQL 2008 My initial response: I don't believe so, you'd have to be monitoring for that ... perhaps a DDL trigger capturing ALTER_INDEX?   • Ubuntu 10.04 Cant Adjust brightness on my lenovo Thinkpad?

    I cant seem to be able to adjust the brightness on my think-pad laptop running Ubuntu 10.04. In the power management applet it shows that the power is set to 100%, but even if i try to lower it the actual screen brightness dosent change. Any ideas of how I can get around this? I tried changing the brightness from the terminal but its already set to Max brightness (however the actual screen brightness is no that bright at all). Thanks

I have piece of C# code that it is very easy to install all clients and up and running every day in system trays and no one can close it.   • Should users be deleted after inactivity on a website?

    When you have a social website or a website where you can register, would you eventually delete them after a certain time (after a year of inactivity) or would you rather keep their account records for ever? I know websites like Facebook have large amount of inactive, duplicated and fake accounts. So I'm wondering if after two years of inactivity it would be alright to send the account a warning email of deletion unless they log in. Just thinking of a clean and efficient database management or any implications this may cause to new potential users.
