    I currently have the following function to read an array or a vector of raw data (_readStream is a std::ifstream) : template<typename IteratorType> inline bool MyClass::readRawData( const IteratorType& first, const IteratorType& last, typename std::iterator_traits<IteratorType>::iterator_category* = nullptr ) { _readStream.read(reinterpret_cast<char*>(&*first), (last-first)*sizeof(*first)); return _readStream.good(); } First question : does this function seem ok for you ? As we read directly a block of memory, it will only work if the memory block from first to last is contiguous in memory. How to check that ?

  • How does including a .csv work in an enum?

    enum ID // IDs { ID_HEADER = 0, // ID 0 = headers #include "DATA.CSV" ID_LIMIT }; I inherited some code here..... Looking at "DATA.CSV" I see all the ID's used to populate the enum in column B, along with other data. My question: How does the enum know that it is using "column B" to retrieve it's members? There must be some other logic in the application yet I don't see it. What else should I look for? Thanks.

  • Problem getting response from server using cURL, file_get_contents, etc

    I am trying to get the response from a server, which is now not giving any response. I tried file_get_contents(), cURL, and tried getting the headers, but apparently the server is not responding. There are no headers returned or any response of any kind. Also, this happens when I try from my web server - it works fine in my local machine. The server I'm calling is an sms server, to use which they've given a url. The problem is only with this particular server. I get response while trying Google. So may be it's caused by the called server. What I wanna know is what could be (or how to find out) the reasons... Any advices?

    I'd like to write a subscript that adds a unique identifier (machine time) to a script everytime that it runs. However, each time I edit the script (in IDLE) the indetifiers are over-written. Is there a elegant way of doing this.   • BATCH - wait for executable to finish before starting next result

    I'm pretty much a noob at this, so any help is appreciated. I'm trying to run the video transcoding executable REDline on all .R3D files in a given folder. REDline only accepts single files, which is the issue. I finally got it to search recursively for the files I need, but my problem is the search function passes the next result to REDline before the first one is finished transcoding. I have the search results that need to run in a variable inside REDline. Here's the code: for /r D:\folder\ %%a in (*) do ( "C:/Program Files/REDCINE-X PRO 64-bit/REDLine.exe" --exportPreset "Prores_Intermediate" --i "%%~dpnxa" --useRSX 2 --masterRMDFolder "" -s 0 -e 95 ) After about .7 seconds, REDline reports 'received stop message from client'. I don't think this is a REDline error, as I have been able to transcode single files successfully. Thanks.

    Hi, I'm trying to code opposite action to this: std::ostream outs; // properly initialized of course std::set<int> my_set; // ditto outs << my_set.size(); std::copy( my_set.begin(), my_set.end(), std::ostream_iterator<int>( outs ) ); it should be something like this: std::istream ins; std::set<int>::size_type size; ins >> size; std::copy( std::istream_iterator<int>( ins ), std::istream_iterator<int>( ins ) ???, std::inserter( my_set, my_set.end() ) ); But I'm stuck with the 'end' iterator -- input interators can't use std::advance and neither I can use two streams with the same source... Is there any elegant way how to solve this? Of course I can use for loop, but maybe there's something nicer :)

    Well my problem is that after I want to "unload" loaded DLL's the copy assignmnent operator is called an unlimited amount of times until crash. Great that works If I place "£" in the string, or use [currencyStyle stringFromNumber] the text file will not be created.   • File uploading with ColdFusion, too big of file timing out?

    A client has the admin ability to upload a PDF to their respective directory and have it listed on their website. All of this works dandy until a PDF reaches a certain file size that makes the server time out. This causes an error and the file uploaded will not succeed. As mentioned in the title, we are using ColdFusion with a command. Is there any java/jquery/flash modules or applications that could resolve this issue?
