• Setting a Silverlight textbox control's width relatively

  Hello, I tried searching on stackoverflow for an answer to my question but couldn't seem to find anything relevant. Since I'm relatively new to Silverlight, I'm not even sure if this is possible, but I am trying to figure out if it is possible to set a Silverlight textbox control's width value proportionally to it's immediate parent container? It would be nice to avoid hard coding a width value. Say you want to place a textbox control inside a horizontally aligned StackPanel control and have it's width always dynamically adjusted to be 80% of the total width of the StackPanel. Is this possible to do declaratively in your xaml markup, or will I need to resort to some codebehind attached to some event handler to accomplish this? fyi, I am currently using Visual Web Developer Express 2008 to write my silverlight code. thanks in advance, John

  Hi troops, how would you prevent dragging for some items of your List or DataGrid? Let's say I had a list with two items: 'Tom' and 'Jerry'. Only 'Tom' should be dragable, not 'Jerry'. Ideally I had a 'isDragEnabled(item:Object):Boolean' function, which is being queried by the drag source. My difficulties start with the fact that the 'dragStart' event handler has a null value for the dragSource, so right from the start I find it hard to find out what the drag-start is about.. Thanks in advance! PS There have been a few discussions on preventing or canceling a drop, but I haven't seen much about preventing the drag start, hence this question.

• paypal redirect on successful checkout

  I am trying to get my Paypal subscription to redirect to a custom page after a successful checkout. Before submitting to Paypal I overload the submit handler, run my own function (to store details) and return a unique id. I want to attach that id to my return URL. (as a GET or POST var so to speak) I have turned auto redirect "on" in my Paypal sandbox sellers preferences, but it only seems to re-direct to the URL that I HAVE to put in there. using the <input type="hidden" name="return" value="someurl" /> does no seem to work. I want it this way so that I can capture the user information when entered with a "non-paid" flag, then via the IPN I can update that record with a "PAID" flag, and I want to use the unique ID to tie it all together so to speak. Any advice or a different approach is welcomed. Many thanks!

I have many classes that derive from a base handler: class BaseHandler(webapp.RequestHandler): def get(self, CSIN=None): self.body(CSIN) Does this mean that the body() method of every descendant class needs to have the same argument? This is cumbersome. Only one descendant actually uses that argument. And what about when I add new args?   Hi, I have a custom Dialog on my app and I have a problem to do what I would like. I explain. My Dialog have had 4 Buttons.   In my asp.net web app, I create a popup window with a button. When that button is clicked, I want to set the value of an asp:TextBox (id=TextBox1) contained in the parent window. However, it doesn't work like all the examples I've read indicate. I've tried the following lines of code in my javascript onclick handler: window.opener.document.getElementById('<%= TextBox1.ClientID %').value = "abc"; window.opener.document.getElementById("TextBox1").value = "abc"; window.opener.document.getElementById("ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_TextBox1").value = "abc"; Only example 3 works. All the stuff I've read indicates that #1 is the preferred method, but I can't seem to make it work at all. Does anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I've tried this in Firefox, Chrome and IE. • Reading Binary data from a Serial Port.

  I previously have been reading NMEA data from a GPS via a serial port using C#. Now I'm doing something similar, but instead of GPS from a serial. I'm attempting to read a KISS Statement from a TNC. I'm using this event handler. comport.DataReceived += new SerialDataReceivedEventHandler(port_DataReceived); Here is port_DataReceived. private void port_DataReceived(object sender, SerialDataReceivedEventArgs e) { string data = comport.ReadExisting(); sBuffer = data; try { this.Invoke(new EventHandler(delegate { ProcessBuffer(sBuffer); })); } catch { } } The problem I'm having is that the method is being called several times per statement. So the ProcessBuffer method is being called with only a partial statment. How can I read the whole statement?

  I am trying to wrap my head around a URL rewrtie / redirect project I need to work on. We currently have this url: www.domain.com/Details/Detail.aspx?param1=8&param2=12345 Here is what the rewritten URL will look like: www.domain.com/Param1/8/Param2/12345 I am using the ISAPI_Rewrite filter to allow for the "nice" url and make the page think it is still using the old url. That works fine. Now, I need to redirect users, if they use the old URL, to the new URL. I fgiure I would need to use a combination of the filter and an HTTPModule / Handler to perfomr the redirect. Any ideas?

• How do i redirect to a GET request from a POST request on GAE

  Hello everyone, i am writing an FBML app on facebook hosted in GAE. Facebook will talk to your hosted app only vai POST (im sure this is the cause, but please do correct me if i'm wrong). So im faced with the issue that inside of my POST method, i need to redirect to facebook OAuth authroize URL. But i can only send a GET request. How can i do that? At the moment i'm doing class OauthHandler(webapp.RequestHandler): def post(self): # blablablab request.redirect(oauth_uri) Which is wrong since the oauth_uri is only responding to GET. Further more, OAuth will redirect back to my redirect handler through GET, but i cant! i can only do post. So i'm confused. ideas? Thanks in advance

• Webservice won't accept JSON requests

  Hi, The main issue is that I cannot run a webservice that accepts requests in JSON format. I keep getting a 500 Server error stating that the "request format is invalid." My ASP.NET AJAX extensions are installed. My server is running Plesk Control Panel 8.6 which is undoubtedly causing these problems. The default handler for this specified extension is shown in the web.config like so: For my applications webservice to handle JSON it needs to have this reference: <add name="ScriptHandlerFactory" verb="*" path="*.asmx" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/> Plesk is not allowing the request to be handled properly. I need to know the correct http directive(s) to put into the web.config to properly handle JSON webservices. I tried posting to the Plesk forum two days ago but no response yet.   Hi, I have a question: In Flash, I have the ability to save certain info onto the server. Now the problem is the user needs to be authenticated as admin in order to do so. I can't use sessions, since if you work longer than 20 minutes in the Flash application, the session is gone. The way I see it, I have 2 possibilities: 1. passing a parameter (bIsAdmin) to Flash from the Website. 2. Launch a http-get request, to get this value (bIsAdmin) from an ashx handler on application startup, when the session has not yet exired. In my opinion, both possibilities are not really secure... So, Which one is safer, 1 or 2? Or does anybody have a better idea ? In my opinion, 1 is safer, because with 2, you can just switch a packet tamperer in between, and bang, you're admin, with permission to save (or overwrite, =delete) anything.

I used YUI JS Drag drop library to make the div as droppable item and made the div surrounding the Applet as Drop Target. When I dropped it in the Div containing Applet, I am Calling some method in the applet from Javascript Drop handler? This is fine, but I have the problem if the applet contains different objects and regions , how to identify which object it is dropped on? is there any other approach to work with DHTML and applets for Drag and Drop? • JQuery Ajax returns status 0 in Google Chrome, works fine with other browsers.

  Hello, I am using jQuery ajax, and it worked very well until I tried the site in Google Chrome. I am directed to the success handler. However, when I printed the status of the XMLHttpRequest, I got a 0. The responseText is empty as well. This only happens in Google Chrome. I tried the same code on Safari, Firefox, and Opera, they are worked correctly. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  I've got some older MFC code I wrote that I'm "freshening up" a bit. I have the following code in a window class' OnChar() handler. I really don't like using constants like 0x18. I'd like to make the code more readable. I know I can declare my own, but are there no Windows macros for these values? • spring web application context is not loaded from jar file in WEB-INF/lib when running tomcat in eclipse

  I am experimenting with spring, maven, and eclipse but stumbling on a weird issue. I am running Eclipse Helios SR1 with the STS (Spring tools suite) plugin which includes the Maven plugin also. What i want to achieve is a spring mvc webapp which uses an application context loaded from a local application context xml file, but also from other application contexts in jar files dependencies included in WEB-INF/lib. What i'd ultimately like to do is have my persistence layer separated in its own jar file but containing its own spring context files with persistence specific configuration (e.g a jpa entityManagerFactory for example). So to experiment with loading resources from jar dependencies, i created a simple maven project from eclipse, which defines an applicationContext.xml file in src/main/resources Inside, i define a bean <bean id="mybean" class="org.test.MyClass" /> and create the class in the org.test package I run mvn-install from eclipse, which generates me a jar file containing my class and the applicationContext.xml file: testproj.jar |_META-INF |_org |_test |_MyClass.class |_applicationContext.xml I then create a spring mvc project from the Spring template projects provided by STS. I have configured an instance of Tomcat 7.0.8 , and also an instance of springSource tc Server within eclipse. Deploying the newly created project on both servers works without problem. I then add my previous project as a maven dependency of the mvc project. the jar file is correctly added in the Maven Dependencies of the project. In the web.xml that is generated, i now want to load the applicationContext.xml from the jar file as well as the existing one generated for the project.   I'm interested in whether there is a way to monitor HTTP(S) traffic on an Android phone? What I would like to do is to be able to retrieve all URLs that have been accessed on the phone's browser. I thought that there would be a browser intent for that, but have not seen anything - given I'm green, maybe I just did not know where to look? I followed the question and answer here, but it works only for hyperlinks which were clicked by the user, however I need to catch all URLs - including the ones typed in by the user. Basically I need to know about every single URL that was opened in the web browser. Can I register some kind of a handler with the browser? Is something like that feasible at all?
