• jQuery: how to find first visible input/select/textarea excluding buttons?

  I tried $(":input:not(input[type=button],input[type=submit],button):visible:first") but it doesn't find anything. What is my mistake? UPD: I execute this on $(document).load() <script type="text/javascript"> $(window).load(function () { var aspForm = $("form#aspnetForm"); var firstInput = $(":input:not(input[type=button],input[type=submit],button):visible:first", aspForm); firstInput.focus(); }); </script> and in the debug I can see that firstInput is empty. UPD2: I'm in ASP.NET page running under Sharepoint. I've found so far that for some elements it does find them (for fixed ones) and for some don't. :(

  I have an Iframe that links to another html page. The iframe is contained within a div. I found some code that would auto adjust the high depending on the contents of the iframe. This code works fine in firefox and older versions of internet explorer but its not adjusting the height in v7 or later.....   A webapp has as a central component a relatively heavy algorithm that handles geometric operations. There are 2 solutions to make the whole thing accessible from both high-end machines and relatively slower mobile devices. I will use RPC's if i detect that the user machine is ''slow'' or else if i detect that the user machine can handle it OK, then i provide to the webapp the script to handle it client side. Now what would be a reliable way to detect the speed of the user machine? I was thinking of providing a sample script as a test when the page loads and detect the time it took to execute that. Any ideas?

• php - efficent way to get and remove first line in file

  Hello, I have a script that each time is called gets the 1st line of a file. Each line is known to be exactly of the same length (32 alphanumerci chars) and terminates with a "\r\n". After getting the 1st line, the script removes it. Now I do in this way: $contents = file_get_contents($file)); $first_line = substr($contents, 0, 32); file_put_contents($file, substr($contents, 32 + 2)); //+2 because we remove also the \r\n Obvioulsy it works, but I was wondering if there could be a smarter (or more efficent) way to do this??? In my simple solution I basically read and rewrite all the file just to take and remove the 1st line. Thanks!

So basically I don't want the "module" that is hovered to get the class, I want it to do exactly what I am showing here...sliding .caption up and down on end hover, I just want all other ".caption"s to get the under class when any ".module" is hovered. Just hitting a dead end with what I have been trying, want to do it in the same function. Any ideas?

• XSL transformation of SVG adds namespace attribute to new tag

  I have a SVG file that I want to extend by adding onclick handlers to edges and nodes. I also want to add a script tag referring to a JavaScript. The problem is that the script tag gets an empty namespace attribute added to it. I haven't found any information regarding this that I understand. Why does XSLT add an empty namespace? • Finding files with bash and copy to another location and reducing depth of folders

  I'm trying to recover a mates hard drive, there is no structure what so ever so music and images are everywhere but in named folders sometimes 5 folders deep, I've managed to write a one-liner that finds the files and copies them to a mounted drive but it preserves the file structure completely. What I'm after is a bit of code that searches the drive and copies to another location and copies just the parent folder with the mp3/jpg files within and not the complete path. The other issue I have is the music is /folder/folder/folder/Artist/1.mp3..2.mp3..10.mp3 etc etc so I have to preserve the folder 'Artist' to give him any hope of finding his tracks again. What I have working currently: find /media/HP/ -name *.mp3 -fprintf /media/HP/MUSIC/Script.sh 'mkdir -p "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h" \n cp "%h/%f" "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h/"\n' I then run the script.sh and it does all the copying. And doesn't print the global value of x as expected. An equivalent java code would display 5! So, is it a bug? If not then how does one explain that behavior?

When this function is called the Session variable is assigned the Key I sent with the Value I sent. • Changing gmail Settings with Ruby

  I need to configure my gmail account(s) programmatically with Ruby. I checked out the apps api and it looks like the simplest possible solution would be to use ClientLogin for logging in and a simple XML PUT for changing the forwarding setting, for example. I wrote a little test script like so: http://gist.github.com/373457 It would appear that the call to ClientLogin works because it comes back with an Auth= token. When it sends the PUT request to google, however, it comes back with a RestClient::Unauthorized exception. I rewrote the script with pure net/https and it turns out the message I'm getting is invalid token, yet I can't figure out what is wrong with my token. Can anyone else see it?

• How can I kill MySQL queries every 60 seconds in Windows?

  I want to check my MySQL server every minute and kill queries that have run longer than 150 seconds. The main reason I want to do this is because I don't want queries from certain people to lock up the DB for everyone else. I know this is not the ultimate solution to the problem, but at least it's a fallback in case something goes wrong with a query. I don't have a slave DB (this is just an at-home project). I'd like to schedule a script to run that does this for me. I'm unfamiliar with Perl or Ruby and I need it done on my Windows 2008 Server box. I've looked into creating a simple cmd line script, but that doesn't seem to be possible. I know currently I can do something like this but I have to do it manually: mysqladmin processlist mysqladmin kill Anyone have any ideas or examples on how I could do this?
