• How to stream a shoutcast radio broadcast in Flash (Shoutcast Flash Player)

  I've been looking for a solution to this for years, but nothing is conclusively documented. There are many Shoutcast Flash players out there (e.g. radio.de) so I know it's possible. However, most of my research leads to this: s = new Sound(); s.loadSound ("url.of.shoutcaststream:8003",true); Which works for me in FireFox but not in IE. I don't want to buy a component, I want to know how those components do it so that I can build my own custom player.

• VLAN support on Juniper EX - 2200 switches

  I have 6 Juniper switches (EX - 2200) connected to each other as shown in the network topology below. I have two PC's that I am using PC1 - (used for configuring the 6 switches via minicom) PC2 - to monitor the traffic between the switches via the Ports that are marked with arrows in the diagram. STEP 1: I create a new vlan On Switch 3 (SW3) that includes Port 12 and Port 22. I also assign l3-interface to the vlan (vlan_2) with ip address - 192.168.1.7. Now I plug-in Port 0 of Switch 3 on PC2. Now I try pinging 192.168.1.7 from PC2 (192.168.1.10) I want to know what will happen? My postulation is that I will not be able to ping SW3 from PC2.This is because SW3 (Port 12 and Port 22) is a part of a vlan_2 and vlan_2 logically breaks up broadcast domains and so 192.168.1.7 will not be reachable from 192.168.1.10. Now I have an l3-interface on SW1 with IP 192.168.1.1 using default vlan( vlan-id 0). Similarly I have enabled IP on SW2 - 192.168.1.2 SW3 - 192.168.1.3 SW4 - 192.168.1.4 SW5 - 192.168.1.5 SW6 - 192.168.1.6 all using default vlan. Now I plug in Port 12 of SW3 (blue cable) into the PC2. I try to ping 192.168.1.1 from PC2. What will happen at this stage.? My postulation is that I will be able to ping switch 1.Is this correct? Also another question is that can a single port on a Switch be added multiple VLANS? I am a beginner at network configuration? Any help would be highly appreciated. (Please ignore the CISCO symbol on the switches in the diagram.All swithes are Junper EX 22-00.)

  I need to have a server on one machine that broadcasts a message sever second or so, Kind of like a service discovery. The message needs to be received by multiple client processes that could be on the same machine or different machines. Im using delphi7, with indy 9.0.18 where im stuck is if i should be using UDP or IP MultiCast or if its even possible... Ive managed to get it to work with IP Multi Cast with one client per machine, but even after many trys with different bindings.. max/min ports etc, i cant seem to find a solution.

  Hi, I have an app which has MainActivity(without gui.. please just flow with it:) ) now this MainActivity running a service, this service using sendBroadcast() in order to comunnicate with the MainActivity.. now ofcourse i need to registerReceiver in the onResume() of the MainActivity. but i also need to add unregisterReceiver(receiver) in the onDestroy() of the MainActivity. problem is: when i first start that app i need it to up the service, and i dont want the user to lose focus, so i press finish() after i`am starting the service.. but then auto invoked also unregisterReceiver(receiver).. and this is not good for me.. i get error it's said it couldnt find any registerd reciver. so i fixed it by delete this line.. but i am sure its going to 'revenege' me in the future, when/where could i have problem if i wont use unregisterReceiver(receiver).. at the onDestroy() thanks, ray.

  Hiya, A client of ours is attending a business fair and would like to push some sort of "welcome message" to people visiting their space. I'm not too familiar with Bluetooth, so I have a few questions: What kind of content can you transfer via Bluetooth? (Is it files only or is it possible to send a simple text message?) Is it possible to push content only to recipients within a certain distance? (ie. based on signal strength or similar) Can anybody recommend a piece of software that can do some or all of the above? If necessary we could program a custom solution ourselves (.NET), but I'm sure there must be a program out there that can do the job. • HP network discovery service flooding network with SLP / SRVLOC requests

  I am having trouble with "HP Network discovery service" which I think is responsible for flooding my network with SLP/SRVLOC requests. This has happened on multiple occasions on different devices where some HP printer software installed. Have I misconfigured something in my network that causes this? Or is the HP service at fault? The destination address (224.0.1.60) and SLP confirm that it is a HP service that is doing this. Also the service url in the packets read: "service:x-hpnp-discover:" further confirms this. Why is this happening? I doubt HP would release faulty software like this? So this leaves me thinking that maybe some settings on the HP Procurves are not set up properly? I hear several terms and I'm not quite sure how they are related (e.g. streaming, broadcasting, ingesting, etc.) Is there a blog post or book that explains: How it all works in a high-level view (the workflow) The architecture (i.e. I capture content using my camera and want to display it real-time to an audience. • Suggestion for live video stream aggregation/switching/forwarding/management software?

  I'm looking for a software or system that can receive video streams from a number of cameras via a network (RTMP or similar protocol), present a visual overview of all video streams and allow me to forward/send a selected stream to another service (e.g. to a Flash Media Server, or anywhere via RTMP). Basically the digital internet equivalent of a TV studio control panel, which allows a director to put together a live show. Is there any such software at an affordable price? A GUI-less server which can be scripted to switch streams would be good too. I'm not even quite sure what kind of product category this falls into or what search terms to plug into Google. Most results I have come up with have little more than an executive summary description which doesn't tell me anything. Any suggestion welcome.

  I am wondering if the following is possible in android. I want to have my application do a certain task whenever the phone get awoken. Whenever some other application acquires a wake lock to do it's task, I want my application to do something of its own. Can I get notified through an intent using a broadcast receiver about this event? If so, what will happen if that other application finishes before my task ends? The reason I'm asking is that I don't want to wake the phone up to do my task and affect the battery life. I want to take the opportunity of the wake lock to do my thing.

• Can we configure windows 2008 DHCP server to not ignore the broadcast falg of DHCP requests?

  We have a Cisco WAP4410N access point that does not relay broadcast packets from the wired network to the wireless clients when the network is secured by WPA2. This cause problem with Windows server's DHCP server that respond to DHCP request by broadcasting it's OFFER instead of Unicasting it like it's asked by Windows (and Android and iOS) clients. When we had a Windows 2003 server we configured the server not to ignore the broadcast flag (following these instructions) and it solved the problem. Now we upgraded our servers to Windows 2008 servers and the problem is back. Unfortunately, it seems Windows server 2008 ignore the IgnoreBroadcastFlag parameter. Is there any other way to make sure that Windows Server 2008 respond to DHCP requests using Unicast instead of broadcast? mp

  Are there any Linux DHCP servers that will listen to what Cisco calls an "unnumbered" interface, or what others might call a "NBMA" (non-broadcast) interface. I have a Linux system that connects to a number of others using GRE tunnels. The machines on the other end send DHCP requests to this machine, I can see them with tcpdump. However, ISC DHCP 3.0.3 refuses to listen to the interface because it is non-broadcast.   I am trying to use ifconfig to turn on broadcast on my loopback interface. It currently reads: lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 As you can see, no broadcast address! :( :( :( I tried this on OS/X but it did not work and it did not give any error or feedback: ifconfig lo0 broadcast 127.255.255.255 Any guru would know that? I have one server that sends one packet. I have two clients running on the same machine as the server. I need them to pick up the packet WITHOUT having to force the server to send it twice.

• How to reduce the windows network browsing broadcast timeout or disable this function?

  Hello everyone. My residential network is make of 300 vlans (one per room). To browse them we are using a wins server. My problem is that when I try to browse the network, windows first tries to find the neighborhood using some broadcast, and only then does it query the wins server. This "broadcast period" lasts exactly 30 seconds and is very annoying. Can I reduce it, or can I completely disable this broadcast network discovery feature from my system?
