  • How can videos from Ubuntu drive appear on web page and play in an embedded Flash Player?

    I have a shared folder on Ubuntu Server 12.04. Users drop videos in. Ubuntu runs a Cron task to convert them to FLV format and put them into another folder. All I would like is a simple web page that displays all the files in that folder as links, and when you click on the link for the video you want to play, it should play in the same web page inside an embedded Flash/SWF player. Sounds really basic but I'm actually struggling to find a simple solution. Any thoughts appreciated!

  • Proffesional video editor that can handle FLV?

    I tried Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and was not able to open my file (unsupported format). Media player can open it thanks to ffdshow (tryouts IIRC). Premiere doesnt seem to want to use ffdshow. I tried renaming it to AVI and hoped Premiere would open it via ffdshow but it didnt and i checked and disabled the dont use ffdshow option in ffdshow video decoder option. What is a good proffesional video editor that can handle FLV? All ffmpeg based editors died on it and virtualdub got close but had a bad framerate. Probably bc it didnt know it was a streaming vid and the start is 26mins of 31min video.   • How do I convert a video to GIF using ffmpeg, with reasonable quality?

    I'm converting .flv movie to .gif file with ffmpeg. ffmpeg -i input.flv -ss 00:00:00.000 -pix_fmt rgb24 -r 10 -s 320x240 -t 00:00:10.000 output.gif It works great, but output gif file has a very law quality. Any ideas how can I improve quality of converted gif? The cue points are not being created dynamically, they are in the FLV video.   • Add keyframes to a stream (FLV from RTMP)

    I downloaded a RTMP stream to my desktop. It uses the FLV (Flash) video codec. I do not want to reprocess/transcode/whatever to this video. VirtualDub can delete sections of video and since it's not encoding again the quality is the same and the filesize shrinks. I want to do something similar but instead add keyframes and not encode. What can I use?

  • Best Configuration for Performance - ffmpeg streaming / mp4 /flv

    I have some mpeg video files and a web page. A visitor comes to that web page and according to the selected options, a php script calls ffmpeg and combines the different mpeg files and then converts it to a mp4 file. That mp4 file is then shown to the visitor using flowplayer. The MP4 creation takes some time and flowplayer takes some time to load the file. What do you think is the best way to accomplish this task ? Should i go for streaming server ? I need to reduce the time taken for conversion. Will converting to FLV be faster ?

    I want to broadcast live video from a playlist created by me, but the actual video files (.flv's) are stored in some external file hosting which I can't admin, but it's currently allowing the use of flash players for playing its contents (progressively). Which is the best solution for this? Can I use my current web server (Debian w/Apache) or should I use some specific server software? I've read some names such as Red5 and Wowza but I can't tell if those are solutions to my actual problem or how should I use them. Also, costs should be as low as possible for this project.

  • Problem getting video from DVD

    I have a DVD that a customer needs me to pull ~5 minutes of video from, and convert it to FLV to play on their website. I downloaded AVS Video Converter and tried to use it to convert the VOB file to FLV, with the thought of editing after, and also tried MPEG. Both times it froze up. I then tried to just copy the file from the DVD to my hard drive, thinking that maybe the disc access was slowing things down too much. I got a "Cyclic redundancy" error from Windows while doing that, and it stopped copying. Is the file corrupted? Is there any better way to get it from the DVD player? I only need 5 minutes of 1.5 hours, so if I can avoid converting the entire thing then editing, that would be awesome Thanks for your help

  • Mix Audio tracks with offset in SOX

    From ASP.Net, I am using FFMPEG to convert flv files on a Flash Media Server to wavs that I need to mix into a single MP3 file. I originally attempted this entirely with FFMPEG but eventually gave up on the mixing step because I don't believe it it possible to combine audio only tracks into a single result file. I would love to be wrong. I am now using FFMPEG to access the FLV files and extract the audio track to wav so that SOX can mix them. The problem is that I must offset one of the audio tracks by a few seconds so that they are synchronized. Each file is one half of a conversation between a student and a teacher. For example teacher.wav might need to begin 3.3 seconds after student.wav. I can only figure out how to mix the files with SOX where both tracks begin at the same time. My best attempt at this point is: ffmpeg -y -i rtmp://server/appName/instance/student.flv -ac 1 student.wav ffmpeg -y -i rtmp://server/appName/instance/teacher.flv -ac 1 teacher.wav sox -m student.wav teacher.wav combined.mp3 splice 3.3 These tools (FFMEG/SoX) were chosen based on my best research, but are not required. Any working solution would allow an ASP.Net service to input the two FMS flvs and create a combined MP3 using open-source or free tools.

  • Problem with recording audio in Flash (Red5, ffmpeg)

    I'm trying to implement a small program with Flash and php that records audio and converts it to mp3. Currently I have Red5 server up and running, I can connect to it with no problems and I can publish flv recordings to the server. When I listen to the flv with Wimpy FLV player it seems to be fine. The problem comes when I'm trying to convert it with ffmpeg on the command line. I'm simply using a command ffmpeg -i but the output wav is about 50% slower than the input. When I record 10sec, the output is 15sec and pitched down. I've also tried all kinds of bitrate settings, -nv option, etc. but nothing seems to work. I have a recent version of ffmpeg that supports nellymoser format.. Don't know what to do. Anyone have any ideas?

It begins playing anyway. When clicking on the activation div, IE7 pops up a wrong sized blank div with a nav (params are set to not show nav and scrubber), and no buttons on the nav and srubber work. IE8 shows the right size but same behavior with nav and scrubber not working, and blank screen. My guess: I'm thinking that the problem is with the javascript not being called at the right times. It seems it's loading the facebox without the jwplayer. At least I assume. Hence the reason why the nav is there. I thinking that it did not read the javascript for that.

    Hi, Is it feasible to play a number of FLV files at the same time on one SWF? Basically I have a brief to create a video banner with a number of FLVs of people playing at the same time but starting at different points in the videos. My concerns are with loading times, memory consumption and the starting of each FLV at a different point and looping it. The FLVs will be stored on a server and pseudo-streamed.     I'm looking for a decent flash video downloader for Firefox. There are tons of them. I'd like to use it for a custom site with some random flash video player, not Youtube. How can it be accomplished? Edit: None of these methods you guys suggested worked so far; I looked up various places where the temporary file might end up - it just doesn't. It is indeed a flash player, but it seems like it's not caching - is that possible?
